Candace didn't know what to do. Should she pretend like nothing happened? That's how one night stands worked right? Should she say something? Clear the air? God Stacy just had to take her out! This would never have happened if- Her panicked pacing was cut short by a knock on her office door. Kevin poked his head in
"Candace Mr. Johnson would like to see you"
Candaces tried to stay calm as she nodded stiffly. "O-okay"
He nods and leave. She takes a deep breath.
"Okay Candace you got this just go with the flow if he doesn't mention it then neither should you. This is business. Professional. She squared her shoulders and walked out of her office to the one a few offices down. She gently knocked on the door and was met with a muffled
"Come in"
She takes in a deep breath and pulls the door open and walks into the spacious office. It was much bigger than hers but that's to be expected.
"Ah Ms.Flynn how are you settling in?"
He asks calmly from behind his desk.
He looks so hot in the black suit he's wearing today. Stop it Candace, pull yourself together! She smiles.
"Pretty good so far everyone has been lovely"
"Yes, Kevin is one of the best executive assistants this office has seen in years."
She smiles awkwardly
"I'm sorry, Please have a seat"
He says gesturing to the empty chair by the desk.
She timidly makes her way to the chair.
"So did you need something? From me?" She asks, trying to make this as short and painless as possible.
She takes this time to fully admire his appearance. He is a handsome man. His blonde hair is combed back neatly short hairs break free hanging just over his eyes. The eyes in question looked tired as if he barley got any sleep but they were bright and kind. His dark blue suit seems perfectly tailored to him and she is hit with a faint smell of his cologne she instantly has flashbacks of that same smell all around her as she moaned in pleasure-
"Actually, I really wanted to talk about the other night.."
She snaps out of it and her heart starts to beat 3 times faster. Is this the part where he fires her?
"Yes I'm so sorry if I had known-"
"So you didn't know who I was?"
He asks skeptically.
She scoffs.
"Of Course not!"
She lowers her voice.
"I would never willingly sleep with someone that I knew would be my future boss"
He eyes her as if trying to decide if she is lying. Eventually he nods.
"Okay I believe you"
"So does that mean you're not gonna fire me?"
He laughs and she frowned.
"Of Course not! We hired you for a reason you've got skills. I would never let this get in the way of professional business."
She sighs in relief. "Okay great so why did you call me In here?"
"To give you this"
He pulls out a small gift bag from under his desk and placed it in front of her.
"I didn't think I'd be seeing you again but since I have I thought you may like these back"
She takes the bag and blushes when she sees her red panties from the other night.
"Oh Um thanks I was looking for those"
He smirks. "Yeah if I hadn't run into you again I would have kept them but now I see how that may be inappropriate kind of like how that was inappropriate to say'' he says sheepishly.
He begins to fiddle with his cufflinks, the only sign that he is nervous.
Candace blushes. Did he just say he wants to keep her underwear? Say something back dummy! I would love for you to keep my underwear or something sexier! She grips the bag tightly and stands up quickly, almost knocking over a picture frame on his desk. He reaches out and steadied it before standing up as well.
"Well if that's all i'll um be going"
"I'm sorry if that was too forward of me to say. I don't want to make you uncomfortable"
Candace shakes her head.
"No it's fine I just- erm have a lot of work to do work never rests"
She laughs nervously and he gives a small smile and clears his throat.
"Of Course..i'll um see you around."
She nods and leaves the room quickly.
She makes it to her office and closes the door. Her heart is beating rapidly and she takes a deep breath. The effect he has on her is insane. She can't even think straight. She has to pull herself together. He's just a guy. A really hot rich guy but still just a guy. She heads into the break room for some water from the cooler when Jenny pops up next to her.
"Hey, some of us are going to get sushi after work you wanna come?"
Candace smiles. They are inviting her?
"Who's all going?"
"Oh just me, Leo and Kevin. No one else in this office is cool"
Candace laughs.
"Mr. Johnson doesn't usually hang out with you guys?"
Jenny laughs.
"He's not really the social type. Atleast I've never seen him out"
Candace begged to differ since he was at a night club 2 days ago
"I would love to but I have to pick up my daughter from my parents after work today."
Jenny looks at her surprised.
"You have a daughter? How sweet, what's her name, how old is she?"
Candace chuckles.
"Her name is Amanda and she'll be 7 next week."
"Oh nice! I have a niece around that age!"
Candace smiles.
"Well Amanda is having her birthday party at my parents house in the backyard if you want to bring her by. Her uncles are planning it so it should be interesting."
"Sure we'll stop by! And if your schedule opens up let me know!"
"Okay" She says smiling and going back to her office. She takes out her phone and calls her mom. She answered after the third ring.
"Hey hun" She says answering.
"Hey mom I was just wondering if you could keep Amanda an extra 2 hours tonight?"
"Ofcourse! Why do you have a date?" She rolls her eyes.
Her mom has been hinting to the fact that she needs to start dating again and settle down.
"No mom just some coworkers invited me to go out with them and I think it's important to make friends here"
"Alright hun well have fun"
"Thanks mom!"
She hangs up the phone and goes back to work the whole embarrassing talk with Mr. Johnson temporarily forgotten. Candace packed up her stuff just as the clock struck 6pm. She left the office and was able to catch Jenny Leo and Kevin packing up as well.
"I can go" she says and Jenny smiles.
"Yay! This'll be so much fun!"
"What will be so much fun?"
Everyone goes quiet when Mr. Johnson suddenly speaks up. Jer-erm Mr. Johnson stood there seemingly ready to go home to. Well he had his briefcase in hand and was looking at them expectantly.
"Oh Um we're just going out to um.. get sushi" Leo says nervously.
"Oh?" He briefly looks at Candace then back to Leo.
"Sounds fun...I think I'll join you"
Candaces eyes widened as do everyone else's. She guesses that it is rare that this happened if it ever happens at all.
"Oh. Okay sure the more the merrier." Jenny said smiling nervously.
"We'll lead the way" He says and they all leave the building.
They arrive at the sushi restaurant it is quaint. It is dimly lit with a few booths along the walls with leather seats and a sushi bar in the center with stools all around it.
"Table for 5?" The waitress asks and they nod.
"Right this way."
They slid into a booth. Candace slid in first then Jenny slid next to her followed by Leo. Jeremy slid to the end on the other side so he was accross from candace and Kevin was next to him.
"So what's good here?" Candace asks skimming the menu.
"Well what kind of sushi do you like?
Jenny asks and Candace shrugs.
"I wouldn't know Never had it"
"What?" Leo asks mouth agape.
"You've never had sushi? Girl where have you been?!"
"I didn't know it was a life requirement plus it just never looked appealing to me"
She hears a chuckle and looks to the source. Jeremy has an amused smirk on his face and Canace can't help the small blush that creps up her neck.
"What can I get you guys?"
The waitress asks approaching the table.
"I'll have the baked lobster roll"
Kevin says.
"I'll have the California roll and a side of miso soup." Jenny says.
"I'll have the rainbow roll" Leo says smiling.
They looked to Jeremy and he looked at Candace.
"Ladies first"
"Oh Um thanks I'll have um" She skims the menu.
"I don't know there's so many options"
"she'll have the sampler" Kevin says, rolling his eyes.
"It comes with a little of everything so you can find out what you like."
She nodded.
"And I'll have the terriaki chicken bento plate." Jeremy says.
"No sushi for you?" The waitress asks and Jeremy shakes his head.
"Can't stand sushi"
Everyone looks at him in disbelief.
"What is happening to the world?" Jenny asks, palming her face.
"I mean it is just raw fish, rice and seaweed right?" Candace asks.
"It's so much more than that!" Kevin says.
"Well see I guess" Candace says smiling nervously.
"So mr. Boss man, what made you suddenly want to hang with us commoners?" Leo asks Jeremy.
Jeremy stiffened. "No reason just had extra time"
Leo raised an eyebrow.
"Wow don't we feel special."
Candace chuckled and Jeremy looked at her and opened his mouth to speak when his phone started to ring.
"Sorry I have to take this" He says standing and walking a few feet away from the table.
Candace tries not to listen. It is probably his wife. Of course he has a wife why wouldn't he? Okay maybe not a wife but maybe a girlfriend.
"Hello?" He asked answering.
"What? Where is he?"
"Well is he okay?"
"I'm coming right now"
He hung up and looked at them apologetically.
"I have to go I'll ask the waitress if I can get mines to go."
"Is everything okay?"
Candace asks.
"Yeah just um family issues. I'll see you guys tommorow"
With that he was gone.
"Well that was..interesting"
Jenny says and Kevin and Leo nod in agreement.
"I hope everything is okay"
Candace says, frowning.
"Don't worry about him. He never seems to have problems for long I guess that comes with being rich"
Candace frowned again.
