Sorry for the late update guys I had to take a couple of days off since the new TS album release hit really close to home anyways enjoy!
"Amanda Is your room clean?"
"Yes mommy!"
Candace nods. She has been cleaning all morning getting ready for Amanda's play date and if she was lucky mommy would get to play a little too.
"I'm so excited!" Amanda says coming down the stairs. Candace smiles at the outfit she chose to wear. She has on denim overall dress that her grandparents got her with a rainbow shirt underneath and polka dot leggings. Candace chuckles. She definitely has personality. Candace however opted to wear jeans and pink spaghetti strapped shirt since it was a warm day. There is a knock on the door and Amanda squeals.
"I'll get it!" She says and runs to the door. Candace follows behind her.
"Hi Mr.Jeremy! Hi Xavier!" She says with a big smile which is adorable because she is missing a tooth.
Jeremy smiles brightly at the little girl.
"Hey gorgeous! Love the outfit"
"Thank you" She says twirling and showing off her outfit.
"We brought you a gift"
Amanda's eyes widened
"Really?! What is it?"
Xavier hands her what looks to be a homemade bracelet made out of beads.
"Wow thanks!" She says slipping it on.
"Come on Amanda we should let them in before they burn in the sun"
She steps aside and they come in.
"Thank you. And this..is for you"
Jeremy pulls out a box of chocolate and
Candace gasp. "You got me something? Why?"
"Just as a thank you for opening your home to us. Plus this chocolate goes great with cookies."
Candace rolls her eyes.
"Ohhh so this is also a gift for yourself"
He smirks. "Guilty"
"Cmon Xavier let's go play!" Amanda says grabbing Xavier's hand and pulling him to her toys that are set up in a corner of the living room.
"So.. Welcome to my home" Candace says sheepishly.
"It's not much but-"
"It's..homey. A lot like your parent's house actually."
Candace smiles. "Thanks."
"Growing up in boarding school you don't get much of the 'homey' vibe. Especially when your rooming with a bunch of other guys who can't even do their own laundry"
Candace chuckles. "That's actually pretty sad"
"Hey I think despite that I turned out pretty good don't you think?"
"More than good" She thought to herself.
"Eh you're alright I guess" she says shugging playfully and walking to the kitchen.
He scoffs and follows her.
"You know I can still fire you"
"You wouldn't" she says in a sing song voice.
"You're right I wouldn't but I can give you a crap load of casework"
She laughed. "Touché."
"Alright you ready?" Candace says putting on an apron.
Jeremy looks at her confused. "Ready for what?"
"To bake some cookies" She says smiling.
Jeremy gapes at her and stutters.
"Oh I just thought -"
"That I would make them all by myself? Keep dreaming lawyer boy now come and help me. Usually Amanda and I bake them together but you can be my assistant baker today."
She throws him an apron and he eyes the fabric.
Jeremy nods. "Okay..but just a warning I'm not the best baker.."
"If a 7 year old can do it you can too"
Candace goes and grabs the bowls and ingredients and he watches her amused.
"Okay I will start and you just hand me ingredients can you do that?"
"Sounds challenging but I think I can handle it" he says sarcastically.
She rolls her eyes and puts flour into the bowl along with sugar.
"Hand me those eggs" she says and he watches in amazement as she expertly cracked them.
"Wow you're good at this" he says.
"Well when you grow up with my mom you learn a thing or two."
"Yeah my mom wasn't much of a baker she makes a mean lasagna though"
"Sounds delicious. What's your specialty?" She asks adding the chocolate that he brought.
He thinks about it. "I think I make pretty good barbecue"
"Ah such a man answer if I've ever heard one" she giggles handing him the bowl.
He looks at her confused.
"Stir" I'll be back I'm gonna check up on them there being a bit too quiet.
"Hold on before you do that"
"Wha-" she gasped when he dips his finger in the mid and swipes it in her nose.
"I can't believe you just did that!" She laughs
"whoops" he says with fake innocence .
"I was aiming for your mouth"
"Like you have trouble finding that"
His eyes moved to her lips
"you're right how could I miss them" he shocks her by leaning down and kissing her gently. Almost too gently. As if he's giving her a chance to pull back if she didn't want to. But she doesn't. She responds eagerly forgetting about the cookie dough on her nose briefly. He pulls back all too soon and she is breathless.
"Hurry back"
She nods still dazed and turns to go into the living room where Amanda and Xavier are playing. Xavier is laid out on the couch with his eyes closed and his toungue sticking out while Amanda is using her toy stethoscope to check his heartbeat.
"What's going on here? Candace asks amused.
"Not now mommy I'm doing very important surgery" she says and Candace chuckles.
"Looks like you lost the patient" she says and Amanda shakes her head.
"Don't you dare die on me! Mom pass me that scoupel!" She is referring to a plastic knife that comes with her toy kitchen set. Candace hands it to her and she pretended to do surgery. He doesn't move.
"Noooo!" Amanda shouts.
"Whelp guess that patient won't be having any cookies"
Xavier shoots up and screams "I'm alive!"
"It's a miricle!" Amanda shouts and Candace laughs.
"You guys are funny"
"mommy what's on your nose?" Amanda asks and Candaces eyes widened as her hand flies to her nose.
She totally forgot about the cookie dough on her face.
"You must really get into your cooking" Xavier says laughing causing Amanda to laugh too.
"Alright alright continue your little game cookies are going in the oven soon. Amanda you can pick a movie to watch."
"Okay"
With that she goes back into the kitchen where Jeremy is still stiring.
"You can stop now" she giggles and he let out a breath.
"Good I don't know how much more my arm could take. You must have strong biceps"
Candace rolls her eyes.
"Yes I do. So don't mess with me"
He smirks. "Wouldn't dream of it"
