When worlds collide
Night time falls upon Halloween, which means it's time for friends to all meet up and go trick or treating. A doorbell rings out as Dede runs down the stairs of her home dressed in her galactic guardian costume. When she opened the door she saw all seven of her friends standing there, all in their own costumes.
TJ was dressed as Frankenstein's monster, Paloma was dressed as a pirate, Vince was dressed as Dracula, Gretchen was dressed up as a witch, Mikey was dressed as a ghost and Gus was dressed as a robot.
However it was Spinelli's costume that was the scariest, she was dressed up as a mutant with puss dripping down her cheeks from her eyes.
"Trick or Treat!" All Dedes friends say as soon as she opens the door, making her laugh at them.
"Woah! Nice costumes guys." Dede said as she moved to the side, letting her friends all walk in.
"You dressed as a galactic guardian? Like from your comic?" Spinelli asked as the eight all stood in the foyer.
Dede smiled and spun around, showing the outfit off fully. "Yep, good eye."
"Hello kids." Looking over the eight saw Crystal, dressed as little red riding hood, and Keith, dressed as a werewolf, walk out of the living room to join them.
"Who wants some Candy?" Crystal asked as she held a basket full of Candy out for the kids, all of which took some, thanking their friends mum while they all ate their Candy.
"Well, we're gonna get going now." Dede kissed her parents cheeks before whistling and watching as lapis came down the stairs with a pair of bat wings on her back.
"Yeah. Let's go before all the good stuff is gone! I love Halloween!" Spinelli cheered as she left back out the door with the others all following her, saying their own goodbyes to the two adults.
"Bye, Mum! Bye, Dad!"
"Bye sweetie, be safe." Keith said as the two also left the house, going to a costume party.
As the group of friends all got onto the first street of the route they were planning on taking for trick or treating they were all more than ready to get started. "First, we wreak in the goods on both sides of the street. Then we head to Mr. Kelso's Halloween ride." TJ explains the plan all over again, this being a thing that seven of the nine beings knew, but the last two members of their group, this was their first time.
"What's the theme this year?" Mikey asked, knowing that Mr Kelso changes up his Halloween tradition every year.
"I hear it's top secret." Vince answers as they all continue on their way down the street, only for a skeleton to drop down from a tree, making the nine of them gasp.
They all look up to see Gelman in a tree, dressed as a skeleton himself, laughing at them.
"Very funny, you big jerk!" Spinelli spat.
"Gotcha!" Gelman laughs. "I didn't know monsters, pirates, ghosts and robots were such chickens!" He laughs again as they all walk away.
"Man, Gelman does that every year." Vince grumbles.
"We'll get him back one day." Said TJ as they all started their night of fun. Though it wasn't long before Dedes bracelet started beeping and they gasped. "What's that?!"
"Nothing." Dede said. "Part of my costume. I need to fix it. You start without me. I'll catch up."
Dede runs off with Lapis following not far behind her. "Alright, another mission!" Lapis cheers as they hide behind a house.
When Dede presses the button on her bracelet, instead of being zapped up into her ship Sparky and X-5 appear next to them. "You guys can't be seen down here!" Dede gasped as she looked between her friends.
"Captain, we have an emergency." X-5 said, trying to explain why they were there.
Sparky however was not worried at all. "Relax. People will think we're wearing costumes."
"He has a point." Lapis said, seeing what sparky was on about as it was Halloween. "Sparky's face really does look like a Halloween mask." She jokes as sparky calls an offended 'hey!'.
X-5 ignored the two of them and grabbed Dedes attention again. "We have a message from Admiral DeGill." He opens his body and Admiral DeGill calls.
"Atomic Candy, your old nemesis, the Chameleon, has stolen the Scythian President's brain when it was out getting clean." Admiral DeGill says over the hologram call as he shows a picture of a brain in a jar. "He's flect to the furthest, most out-of-the-way planet he could find."
Dede now understood why Sparky and X-5 were down with her. "You mean Earth?! How insulting!"
"It's worse. He went to the most out-of-the-way town too." X-5 said, not needing to say which town.
"No way!" Dede gasped.
"Wow, what are the odds of that!?" Lapis asked rhetorically, not really looking for an answer.
Sparky was still really excited about this outcome though. "Way! I'm just thrilled to be here on Halloween!"
Admiral DeGill spoke up again, hoping that this mission will be sorted out quickly. "You must find him. The Scythian Starfeet is on its way. And they swore to attack wherever he hides."
As Dede and her crew are walking on the street, keeping an eye out for the chameleon, well, all except Sparky as he was busy eating a bag of popcorn. "Someone just gave me a bag of what I think is exploded corn! How do I get more?" Sparky asked, looking at Dede hoping to get an answer.
"Why would the Chameleon steal a brain?" Dede asked X-5, not paying attention to sparky and his need for more Candy.
"The Scythian President insulted Maximus by calling him a villain, when everyone knows he's a supervillain."
As X-5 was explaining this to Dede, the group of galactic guardians ran into Dedes earth friends, making Dede freak out a bit.
"Hey, Dede. Who are these guys?" Spinelli asked as they all looked at the newcomers.
"Um…These are my friends." Dede stutters, knowing she can't say their family as the group all know that Dede's parents were only children like she is.
Gus, noticing the 'costume' that X-5 was dressed up as, starts talking like a robot. "Greetings, fellow robot."
X-5 looks at Gus with confusion. "Why are you talking like that?"
"Robots talk like this." Gus says still in a robot voice.
"I do not talk like this." X-5 said in the robot voice, trying to prove his point.
"Yeah! That's more like it!" Gus said happily.
TJ looks closer at Sparky, a thoughtful face on. "Hey, haven't I seen you before?"
Sparky, knowing what TJ was on about, stops eating. "Nope. Never. Though Say if I wanted to get some of your Earth candy. How do I do it?"
"Yeah, you all look like you're from Dedes comic." Spinelli said, recognising the outfits.
"My friends are from out of town." Dede said, hoping that'll change the subject. "They don't celebrate Halloween as much."
The other seven nodded in understanding. "Just go to a door, knock and say trick or treat." Mikey explains.
Sparky runs to Spinelli's house and rings the doorbell. Flo comes out dressed as a rabbit. "Oh, aren't you the cutest?!" Flo said, liking Sparky's 'costume'.
"Tricky trench! No, wait. Stinky stench! Craters! I forgot the password. Uh, you got me slugworms?" Sparky said. Flo was enjoying Sparky's saying she just gave him a handful of candy.
"You're friends really are new to this, aren't they?" Paloma asked as they all watched Sparky walk back to them.
Dede just laughs nervously before X-5 gets her attention. "Captain, look! The Chameleon!" The galactic guardians look over and see the Chameleon walking with the brain.
"Hold it right there, Chameleon!" Dede says but he just runs off. "After him!"
As Dede and her crew run after the chameleon, her earth friends just watch, all confused on why Dede just left them. The Chameleon hides behind a fence, ending up next to Butch, who was dressed as a ghoul, and disguises himself as Butch before he runs again. As the chameleon ran Butch looked after him, not sure he saw what just happened.
Sparky was the first one able to see him. "Over there! At the brain holding ghoul!" The Chameleon goes inside a house and comes back out disguised as Ashley A dressed as a princess. "Now he's a princess!"
Dede jumps on Ashley A, thinking she's the chameleon in disguise. "Gotcha!" Not knowing the real Chameleon comes out and dresses up as a bee.
"Dede! What are you doing?" Ashley A asked, annoyed that she was just tackled to the ground.
Dede, finally seeing that this wasn't the chameleon, stands up and helps Ashley A up as well. "Um… just admiring your costume. Sweet."
"Ashley A, like, there you are!" Said Ashley Q as the other three Ashley's walked over.
Dede stopped paying attention to the girls as she saw the chameleon. "Get him, X-5! He's a bumble bee!"
"Sparky, he's a bumble bee!" Lapis shots over to Sparky as their other two start their chase with the chameleon all over again.
Sparky looks back at Lapis as he was at another house. "I'm kind of busy. Prevel trinket! No, that's not it. Me want treat!"
The Chameleon ends up running to Spinelli's house and rings the doorbell. As Flo answers the door she gasps as the sight of the chameleon. "Oh! You're so cute! Buzz, buzz, buzz!" She opens the jar with the brain in and puts some candy in it.
The Chameleon was shocked at what she had just done. "Madame, you have just put candy on the Scythian President's cerebral cortex."
Flo laughs as she puts the cover back on the jar, thinking he was joking. "You kids and your imaginations."
"There he is!" Upon hearing X-5's yell, the Chameleon runs into the woods.
"Get Sparky and meet me in the woods." Dede orders to both Lapis and X-5 as she takes off after the chameleon.
It wasn't long before the rest of her crew joined her. Lapis was transformed and was carrying Sparky on her back before dropping him onto the floor when they all reached Dede. "I don't think I've been so happy in all my life!" Sparky cried in happiness as he eats more candy. "I got this stuff called taffy! It's like Lenuclean road tar but edible!" He eats even more candy. Dede just looks at him with an annoyed look. "Sorry. I'll chew softer."
As they were walking Gelman's skeleton appeared from above making X-5 screams. "You robots are so easy to prank!" Gelman laughs.
As Duncan runs away laughing, Dede just glares after him. Quit being such a pain!"
X-5 opens up his chest as he gets a call from General Zag. "Atomic Candy, this is General Zag! You must return our president's brain! Without it, he's only half as smart as he once was!" The Scythian President can be seen jumping around the ship.
"But, sir, the Chameleon still has it!" Dede said, hoping to get more time.
"You have 5 seconds to capture him, or we begin firing!" As soon as X-5 ends the call, shots are fired.
"Technically that was only 3.4 seconds." Stated X-5.
As Dede and her crew dodge the shots, the Chameleon appears and turns into a monster. Sparky tries to attack him, but he throws him on the ground. Luckily, Dede attacks from behind and a shot hits a tree. The Chameleon turns into a bat and flies to his ship. "I've had it with Earth! Who would've thought this planet would be popular! The travel agent said it would be empty!" He runs onto his ship and turns it on.
Dede watches as the chameleon's ship takes off. "He's getting away in his ship!" She and her crew teleport to their ship.
As the Chameleon flies, he hears children cheering. Running over to the noise he sees a bunch of kids on his ship. "Wow! Mr. Kelso, I'm very impressed with your ride! It's so realistic!" Gretchen said, thinking the chameleon was Mr Kelso.
"Yeah! The whole Alien thing is cool!" Gus cheers.
The Chameleon was annoyed that his ship was infested with humans. "GET OFF MY SHIP NOW!" He turns into a werewolf and howls. But the kids refuse to run away thinking it was all part of the experience.
"Now that's a good trick!" TJ exclaims.
Dede and her crew are on their ship and going after the Chameleon. "Come in, Chameleon. This is Atomic candy's ship. Over." X-5 said, trying to get the chameleon to answer.
"I read you. Over." Gus answered, talking in his robot voice.
"Gus? What are you doing on the Chameleon's ship?" Dede asked, shocked to see one of her friends on the enemy's ship.
"Hey, Dede! What are you doing there? Are you working for Mr. Kelso?" Vince said as he came into view of the camera.
"You have to get off that… um… ride. You're in extreme danger!" Dede said trying to save her friends but not let them know that what's happening is real.
"Oh, right!" Gus said before he went back to talking in a robotic voice. "Extreme danger! Take evasive action!"
"Robots do not speak like that." X-5 argues back.
"Really, cause he sounds just like you." Lapis jokes as she sat on the console, out of the camera's view.
Dede gasps as the Chameleon pushes Gus and Vince away. "Will you leave my controls alone?!" His hand changed into a chain saw and Gus and Vince back away from him.
Sparky who was still eating candy turned to look back at Dede. "They're coming under fire from the Scythian Star Fleet!"
The ship begins firing at the Chameleon's ship. "Activate the laser shield! We have to enter Seth Scythian rockets!" Dede orders as her spaceship with the shield over it flies toward the Scythian ship and blocks the lasers begging fired at the chameleon's ship.
X-5 was trying to keep the shield up but was failing. "We're losing the shield!"
On the Chameleon's ship, Ashley A is looking at the view of Earth. "He's even got an Earth projection in here! Oh, I'm so going to get my father to buy me one of these!" She gasped.
"My family went to Space World last year. The ride there was way better." Said Lawson.
Dede teleports onto the Chameleon's spaceship, seeing all the other kids there. "Everybody, get away from the windows! We're under attack!" The children laugh at her, thinking she was just playing along for the ride.
"What this ride needs is some real action!" Lawson laughs and runs into the pilots seat to use the controls on the ship. It moves very fast and the children scream as they move around. It flies around the Scythian Star Fleet and toward Dedes ship. It then flies around the moon and falls toward Earth.
The Chameleon was finally at his wits end when all the kids landed on him from the terrible steering that Lawson was doing. "Get these brats off of me!" Dede presses a button on her bracelet and a rope lassoes Lawson's ankle, causing him to be moved away from the controls. Then she takes control and slows down the ship's fall making sure it lands safely. After the ship lands, the doors open and all the children get off. "Get out! Get out! All of you! Your Earth children are impossible!"
Dede stands in the door's entrance looking back at the chameleon. "Hold it right there, Chameleon! Hand over the brain or the Scythians will blow us all up!"
The chameleon was still not willing to give the brain up and tried running away, only to trip and drop the jar containing the brain. "What's the big deal with the phony brain? What is it anyway? Jelly?" Spinelli asked as she picked it up.
The Chameleon starts Jumping up and down to try and get the brain. "No! Give me that brain!" He jumps up again but ends up knocking Spinelli over, sending the brain flying.
"What the heck's your problem kid!" Spinelli spat as she sat up, pushing the chameleon off of her. Dede sees the brain flying and runs to catch it just as the Scythian people arrive.
"General Zag!" The chameleon said as he runs to General Zag and hugs him. "You've gotta get me off this planet! I can't take it any longer!" He cowers in fear.
General Zag starts comforting the Chameleon. "There, there. Now, where is the President's brain?"
Dede walks over to general Zag and hands the brain over. "Here. Complements of the Galactic Guardians." One of the Scythian residents traps the Chameleon in a green bubble as they all walk off.
When they were all gone and out of sight, Dedes earth friends came up to her. "Geese, Dede. That space dialogue was so cornball. But the effects, very cool!" TJ said.
As all the kids left the woods to go back to trick or treating, X-5 came up to Dedes side. "I am curious, Captain. Exactly what kind of plant species grow one of these beans of jelly?" He asked holding up a jelly bean.
Dede laughs, not knowing what to say. "It's hard to explain, X-5. Where did Sparky get to?"
It is revealed that Sparky is being carried on Lapis' back. He is overweight from eating a lot of candy. "Trick or treat! Hey! I got it right! I love this planet!"
Lapis shakes her head at having to babysit the older alien as Dede just laughs at her friend.
