Tarvek's Pathfinder Compass burned against his chest, the screaming, roaring, power of a dimension breach engulfing the starships, potentially the local spacial area the vessels were in. That much was obvious to Tarvek, as the area was too widespread, with the vessel he was on being used as a 'cage' of sorts to deal with his powers as multiply gods worked together to throw them out of this reality. Or…that was his best understanding of events as he tried to read the alerts, tried to brace himself as the starship violently was ejected, and, well, tumbled as Tarvek used magnetic clamps on his boots to say in place. Useful as the world turned upside down, artificial-grav failing momentarily, the ship hitting….
Something. Tarvek didn't know what, just that the vessel he was in slammed into something, with violently power, the power flaring, grav failing for several seconds…
Only to come back. Jaffa, dead, and not, having started to rise up into the air…only to be slammed back into the flooring as Tarvek barely managed to stand in his armour. And that was with using one armoured hand to brace himself as his suit continued to blare alerts, not just about dimensional breaches, but about the linked in data being supplied by the Asgard ship. Then…
It stopped only with one more violent roaring shudder, the vessel clearly slamming into…something once again, the who starboard flank of the vessel map flashing red on Tarvek's holographic map. The doors between Tarvek and the Jaffa slammed closed shut, along with the lighting darkening, not much, but to that blue flavour immediately before the Asgard base had, just before it was attacked. Emergency protocols Tarvek's worried mind told him, having seen similar in training, even if the doors and various designs on walls were completely alien to him. It took the red orc a few moments to calm himself, frozen as he expected more shudders or mini-quakes, then only starting to move, deactivating his mag-locks, when he was reasonably sure there was no more – as he heard blast sounds off the doors.
'Jaffa' he guessed, activating his comms "Commander Thor, do you read?"
There was no response, the wrist-comp showing a display….he had access to the ships internals, to a limited degree {Supreme Commander Thor Presence: Negative}
Icons came back on, though flickering, as was the map given by the Asgard to help resist the boarders continued to function, albeit in a damaged manner. Tarvek growled, forcing himself to walk, away from the door, switching to other options and seeing was he alone "Colonel O'Neill, can you hear me?"
Nothing came back, not that Tarvek expected any as moved away from the sounds of thunder on the door, trying to see what level of access he had to those alien systems, and of what he yet faced. The map was…flickering, internal sensors of the starship either being damaged, or the link was damaged, as Tarvek retreated all the way back to the next door up…
"Now, can we open you?" he wondered; heavy weapon held awkwardly one handed while using the other to try use the wrist-comp to communicate with the door. Or, rather, with the computer system of the starship to communicate with the door to open even as went down the list of Tau'ri "Captain Carter…"
It was only when hit the medicus of that group, Captain Fraiser, did he get a response…or rather a ping on the system that indicated a live, though potentially unconscious, icon. Tarvek not grunted unhappily. That was almost worse than being left alone as he fiddled with the controls, watching moments later as the door opened like water flowing up into the ceiling. Worryingly the vessel was on its side as best he could tell from the map, with only the fact there was advanced anti-gravity systems in place allowing the illusion that it was 'straight' as it seemed to Tarvek right now.
'Okay. On broken vessel…with numerous breaches' Tarvek began to consider the increasingly concern situation he was in, the Compass going quieter at least, but they could be in space. Or under an ocean. Or in the atmosphere of a gas giant, anything really. All while being on a broken vessel that could be anywhere, with a horde of enemy soldiers seeking to kill or capture him 'With many enemies, and possibly a dying human or captive human'
Then 'Do I…'
"Damn it to the hells" he grunted to no-one, directing the scans to his HUD, then beginning to stomp in the general direction of that icon, and the icons with it that were marked with worm-hosts. There really was not a choice, not unless he wanted to abandon his personal honour, and quickly began to jog towards where the humans had been retreating to based on blood and vomit along the path as he stopped, then opened the door before him…
CRACKCRACKCRACK
His weapon was raised and ready in two hands the moment it 'flowed' up into the ceiling, catching the three Jaffa by surprise as he stepped through. Three shoots. Three dead bodies. The thump as the human two were carrying fell to the ground fell with the now three dead enemies Tarvek had just cut down. Striding forward, adjusting back to a one-handed grip so the other could pull out a stimpak, the armoured orc went down to one knee over the bodies, seeing the HUD readings on the human. Something that wasn't good as the sensors displayed simple readings into a crude green-orange-red bar formula on the HUD…and very much in the low-green and angry red range. Low life and serious damage indicators.
Tarvek injected the stimpak into the human's neck, hopefully stabilising her, though he had to leave it at that, and she was too unconscious to answer, as his rifle had to rise again. The internal sensors gave him that advantage, as Jaffa had clearly heard him killing their comrades – at least those on this side of the now sealed doors. Only two this time, and they came in aware of his existence; weapons down, firing as they came around the corner…
Two shots echoed out, ending them, their own two staff blasts missing the mark, a third, pulled by a now dead man, firing up at the ceiling as Tarvek remained on his knee, checking his map display. Only then returning to grabbing the stim-injector, before throwing the stabilised Tau'ri medicus over his shoulder as gently as he could manage. Then trying to run a sling strap to hold her in place, breathing…okay, but not great, as she went over his shoulder.
"Need my hands free….dammit" he told the unconscious human, but also glancing at the bloodstains…guessing she'd been healing one who was worst injured, and then had them beamed out ahead. Perhaps "Where the hells do I go now?"
Resting on his knee, Tarvek took a calming breath inside his armour. Trying to think. Talking to himself as he tried to focus, scrolling through the map on his wrist-comp and HUD "Okay pathfinder, what the fuck is the next move? Bridge…no, that's fallen wasn't it? Sides are breached…dying human. Enemies everywhere. Gods threw you out. What the fuck…Focus. Focus pathfinder"
Then switched back to the link given by the Asgard commander, seeing it was limited, but that damage to the vessel was also likely to be significant…
"Bridge" he told himself, standing up, weapon ready, unconscious human as secure as he could make her "Let us see is the dimension is viable to escape"
Worse…he could feel the dark deity, the alerts and warnings of whatever being lurked beyond this vessel, indicating the worm-demon-lord's vessel had come through with them. Close enough to be attached to this one, or perhaps crashed with it…or had been crashed into…
'The bridge might offer up answers with my limited system access' went through his mind as he began to move towards what was marked as the bridge on the internal scans, seeing icons of enemies. Navigating around said enemies that were having to force their ways through doors…doors that Tarvek had some limited capacity to open himself. That made things momentarily easier as he both moved and attempted to figure out what, exactly, was going on from inside the depths of this large starship 'Cameras would really help…but no Asgard to talk to now, damn!'
Air was his concern, moreso for his unconscious human, but also in that trying a blind jump now…would lose all the information Tarvek had spent weeks gathering between getting cast adrift, and now being forced out of that dimension. That or pressure as the damage to a hull could be devastating if they were in space, or crashed on a planet…or the energy systems gave out. Really the fact there was power was all that was maintaining internal gravity for one, and that was concerning to Tarvek as the next door opened, then closed behind him in that strange watery, forcefield, way…
Then changed his mind, watching as dozens of icons flooded into the bridge area ahead of him as he looked at the wrist mounted holo-display. It seemed that the bridge had been stormed, and Tarvek wasn't sure if he could overwhelm such a force before they killed the unconscious human at best, or, at worst, had ways to get reinforcements to overwhelm him. Shielded power armour, or no shielded power armour. Retreating back the way he'd just come Tarvek changed directions, aiming for an area marked 'Visitor Overlook' as best his own software could translate, and that was still showing up as undamaged on the system displays. It was sufficient to try as there wasn't any enemy icons there…yet.
Tarvek began to jog as the display shivered, the lights doing a momentary flicker. It could mean nothing, but it was very likely a bad sign, moving towards the designed area before the enemy got there, hoping there was a display overlook or some sort of viewing area for guests that would give him an idea what was going on. The fact icons were flickering into existence from a damaged section, marked as Jaffa, did indicate that boarding actions were still taking place. And that there might be atmosphere...or that these were the worm-soldiers clad in full combat suits either. Tarvek began to run as fast as he could in armour, and with patient, weapon at the ready as the last door opened between him and his what was now the orc pathfinder's secondary objective…
