A redhead leaned across the desk towards Steve, smiling at him with a jaw full of gleaming teeth

Batting her eyes at him flirtatiously

Twirling a strand of hair between her fingers

Her gaze flitted to his name tag briefly

"Hey... Steve right?" she questioned

Steve blinked, frozen like a deer in headlights as a very attractive girl leaned across the desk giving him bedroom eyes

was he dreaming?

"Uh..." he trailed off

The girl giggled in amusement, pointing at Steve's name tag "Forget your name already?" she teased

Steve blushed, his cheeks darkening as his brain finally clicked

Ok this was happening

Fuck

This girl was blatantly flirting with him

Oh crap he needed to act cool

He could not mess this up or Robin would roast him for this

"Yeah... Yeah my name is Steve" he babbled, rubbing the back of his neck

From the corner of his eye he saw Robin in the storage room, her eyes bright with surprise

Giving him a silent thumbs up of encouragement

She leaned closer across the desk "Are you single?" she pressed

Steve licked his lips, painfully so

He couldn't remember the last time he even got a date

It felt like life was throwing him a bone

But before he could respond, opening his mouth like a gold fish

His brain turning to mush as he felt himself internally panicking

The front door opened, his train of thought being altered

He caught a flash of familiar blonde hair

The bounce of blonde curls

Billy strolled into the building, his hair bound into a messy bun, adorning a black Tee and tight jeans

That usual sway in his hips and attitude in his walk

Oh fuck

No, No, no

Why did his chances have to blow up in his face?

Billy was a flaming homosexual

He was purely attracted to men

He wasn't the slightest bit interested in women

But Billy could charm the pants of anyone and he had a history of hooking up with girls for fun

Steve would have no chance if this girl caught sight of him

The girl blinked, noticing Steve's panic and deviated her gaze

She spotted Billy standing nearby, her gaze briefly flickering over him before turning back to Steve

"Friend of yours?" she asked

Steve swallowed "Roommate" he babbled

The girl shrugged, surprisingly unbothered by Billy's presence which was something Steve as not used to whatsoever

She hummed, turning her attention towards Steve

"So... to my question, Yes or No?" she asked

Steve briefly allowed his attention to turn towards Billy

Billy had his back turned, pretending to pay attention to the many films they had on sale

Pretending to browse their selection of films

But Steve wasn't stupid, he knew for a fact Billy had ears like a hunting dog and was listening to every word

Whenever he looked over his shoulder or moved

He could feel Billy's eyes on him like knives, piercing him like a raged animal

waiting for Steve's answer

making it all the more awkward

But then what did Steve have to lose?

He hadn't been on a date since Nancy and when would he get another chance like this?

"Uh yeah... yeah I'm single" he stammered

The redhead perked up, her eyes shining with excitement "Cool, wanna grab dinner sometime?" she suggested

Steve blushed, this had to be the most forward girl he had ever met in his life

But he was kind of into that, letting his mind wander

"I... sure..." he stammered with a bashful smile

The girl scribbled her name and number down on some paper before thrusting it at Steve with a wink

Before hurrying out of the shop before Steve could protest

He stared into space, his face still in shock as the reality slowly hit him

"What just..." Steve babbled

Before he could speak Robin rushed at him, pulling him into a hug

"Way to go Casanova, you got your first number" Robin cheered

By a cute redhead at that

Billy rolled his eyes, a look of impatience on his face "Steve got a date?" he scoffed
