Chapter 9

June 1, 2095.

One month and two weeks have passed with little issue-

"NO CLANS! NO HATE! MAGICIANS ABDICATE!"

"DOWN WITH THE MAGOCRACY!"

"REMEMBER HAJIME TSUKASA!"

"MAGICIANS ARE MURDERERS!"

...Okay, on a socio-cultural level, there are a lot of issues.

Apparently, ever since the news dropped on Kinoe killing his brother and faking his death, public opinion on magicians had reached a new low. Blanche had been on a warpath, their members and their like-minded affiliates laying siege to the National Diet Building, demanding legislation that ranges from removing the tax cuts received by the Hundred Families to the revocation of magicians' human rights.

Seriously, there was no way he was making that up: there are people in Blanche, right now, who want the basic human rights of all magicians in Japan revoked. They had a ton of other demands, but apparently, that one demand, in particular, was making the most waves with the pundits and politicians eager to use the tragedy to forward their own agenda-

"Focus, Goshujin-sama!" Tamamo barked.

R-Right, sorry!" Hakuno gulped, dismissing the video interface so generously provided by the Moon Cell.

First High was still closed. The Police and the Ministry of Education were still in the middle of their joint investigation, not only into their nationwide manhunt of Atrum Galliasta, but into the school itself. Turns out that when a school's policies unwittingly cause its students to go insane and go on a murder spree (amongst many, many other incidents swept under the rug), a lot is put under scrutiny. Apparently, they have been going through every incident since the inception of all nine National Magic High Schools across Japan!

Of course, there's also the fact that everyone else is still hospitalized. By the Moon Cell's calculations, only twenty able-bodied students, each from different grades, classes, and courses, and one (non-teaching) staff member walked out of campus unscathed. There was no way any school could be run like that, even with their tradition of teaching Course Two students without professors (a tradition that was also being investigated for its seeming ineffectiveness, by the way; what kind of idiot thought that 'separate' means 'equal'?).

Which leads to Hakuno's current situation. Due to having no classes (and the lynch mob out for the heads of every magician under the rising sun), his parents cut him a deal: during what should be normal school hours, he was to stay at home and upkeep his studies. After that, he was allowed to leave the house and do whatever so long as he kept his head down and did not reveal his status as a magician to anyone. Sounds simple enough. And he could visit his friends in the interim… provided they're not transferred to different hospitals. Again. It was a pain in the ass heading towards the outskirts of the city every time he wants to hang out with his friends, and now he was hearing things about how they were being moved to some brand new facility. Great.

"Okay, let's try this again. Calm down and close your eyes…"

And last but not least, there was his faithful Servant, the Caster-class Tamamo-no-Mae. Over the last month, she's been nothing less than an absolute delight. To him, at least. Her time with Jeanne was almost entirely spent at each other's throats. He could sense something resembling respect between them in those few rare moments, but they were few and far between. As for his parents…

Well, she hasn't introduced herself to them yet. It's been two months, and she's still not known to his parents.

It's not like she has no plan, he knows for sure she's literally writing a book about it, but apparently, the plan requires a lot of setup, requiring the identity he forged for her and a decent amount of capital.

Where they got that capital… well, that's a question for another time.

Currently, the two were in a Reality Marble of the Moon Cell's own making, for use as a training ground for Caster's magic lessons. Most of the time, Tamamo had him do whatever she considered 'training', but today's lesson was different. Right now, she was trying to guide him toward summoning something known as a Shadow Servant. Shadow Servants were inferior copies of Servants created from their Saint Graph data, and can be summoned using either spiritrons or prana. So long as he has the Saint Graph data, he can summon them anytime, anywhere.

Interestingly enough, this wasn't even Tamamo's idea, it was Jeanne's. Unlike Tamamo (who didn't even know what Shadow Servants even were), Jeanne had given the two a rather extensive, Tatsuya-like explanation of what Shadow Servants were and how they could be used. Hell, she even wrote Tamamo a cheat sheet in case she forgot.

"Okay… focus, focus…"

He just needed to do this. Psyching himself up, Hakuno closed his eyes and let the spiritrons flow through his body, and let it release:

[CASTING_{summon_shadow_servant(Caster)}]

[SCANNING_CASTER_SAINT_GRAPH]

[_]

[SAINT_GRAPH_SCANNED]

[CREATING_SHADOW_SERVANT]

Upon opening his eyes, he watched as the Shadow Servant emerged from a cascade of ones and zeroes.

It was an ominous clone of Tamamo, unmistakably so. It bore glowing crimson eyes instead of mischievous amber orbs, and it was completely translucent, bearing a dark shade and surrounded by an eerie miasma, but its curves, its skimpy kimono, its vulpine ears, its fluffy tail, and the ornate mirror that orbited around it, despite the miasma replacing the divine sunlight reflecting off its surface, those were unmistakably in the image of his beloved Servant.

"Damn, it came out nicely."

Tamamo inspected the Shadow Servant with a critical eye, nodding appreciatively before whipping out her cheat sheet she tucked in her obi. "Kay', let's see what we're looking at… alright, Frenchie says that Shadow Servants can fight almost exactly like their base Servants, but their stats are drastically reduced, their skills are locked and they have no individual thought aside from orders given or willed by their Master. However, their magical energy cost is a one-off thing; it's substantial, but won't be a constant drain like a normal Servant."

Hakuno gave the Shadow Servant a quick glance. "Well, in case you or Ruler aren't with me, at least I have a decent way to defend myself."

She scoffed. "We'll see. How about you give it a test drive? Just give it an order or something."

"What do you mean by- mmph?!"

Before he knew it, the Shadow Servant jumped him, tackling him to the ground and embracing him in a deep, loving kiss, practically shoving its tongue into his mouth.

Tamamo's jaw dropped in shock, her amber eyes wide as plates. "What the f- Goshujin-sama! What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

"I-I don't know?!" Hakuno gasped, barely managing to push the Shadow Servant off his lips. "I just thought of the first thing you'd do-"

And just as suddenly as it leaped onto him, the Shadow Servant hopped off Hakuno and pounced on Tamamo, claiming her lips just as it did Hakuno's, pushing her against the ground and groping her chest ravenously. Tamamo clearly struggled and was definitely having more ease fending off her copy than Hakuno would ever hope to have, but the moans of pleasure she elicited as it explored her mouth, sensually grabbing her, nearly pulling her kimono off-

-right up until she sent her mirror crashing into its head, obliterating it into motes of glowing ones and zeros.

Seconds of awkward silence passed as he sat up, somewhat exhausted, somewhat aroused by the whole debacle. "Well, that could've been better-"

Tamamo suddenly tackled him back onto the ground, shoving her tongue down his throat just as her copy had mere moments ago.

"You know, we cannot have you simply losing control like that. It's simply unsafe~!" Tamamo sneered upon lifting herself off him. "Ufufu… I'm gonna have to punish you~!"

At first, he thought she was angry with him, but that ravenous look in her eyes, the way she undid his zipper, aligning her crotch against his own, hungrily licking her lips while her kimono slipped off her heavenly body, exposing her beauty in all its entirety. She wasn't angry with him. Not in the slightest:

She was horny.

Hakuno gulped, closing his eyes shut and waiting for the inevitable. "Uhh… I won't do it again-"

"You got that right."

And not a second later, all passion in her eyes vanished, replaced by a tantalizing smirk that reached her lips. She stood up and slipped her kimono back on, her obi tight enough to preserve her modesty, but loose enough to show more skin than normal, all while Hakuno stared back at her in disbelief.

He was scared to ask, but he did so anyway. "...How is this punishment?"

Tamamo shrugged with that same knowing smirk of hers. "Goshujin-sama, what kind of sensei would I be if I rewarded failure? All I gave you was… a glimpse of what you'll earn, provided you succeed in your studies." She snickered half-lecherously, half-mischievously. "Or maybe… it's a glimpse of what you'll never have if you fail. Fufufu…"

Hakuno pouted, trying vainly to hide the obvious bulge in his pants while Tamamo laughed at his expense. Her style of teaching is unorthodox, but she does know how to play with his expectations.

And, whether he liked it or not, she definitely knew how to motivate him.

"I'm not giving up." Hakuno declared, pushing himself back to his feet. "Let's do it again."

"Now that's what I like to hear!" Tamamo cheered, pumping her fists excitedly "Round two, here we go~!"

[LUNAR_SOVEREIGN_IS_NOW_DISCONNECTING_FROM_THE_REALITY_MARBLE_{Training_ground}]

[SERVANT_{Caster}_IS_NOW_DISCONNECTING_FROM_THE_REALITY_MARBLE_{Training_ground}]

Once Hakuno finished his training for the day, after what felt like hours (The Moon Cell really knew how to screw with his sense of time), he woke up with a start, falling out of his bed with his heart racing a mile a minute.

"I'm never gonna get used to that," Hakuno muttered, stifling a yawn, standing up and heading out of his room, taking his phone and sketchbook with him downstairs.

Once downstairs, he found Laeticia snoring on the kitchen table, her head resting on a textbook, the table covered mostly in her studying material. Her midterms were coming up soon, and she's been doing nothing but study for the past few weeks. Of course, he's been helping her every step of the way, but at the end of the day, she'll be the one who has to face those exams head-on, all by herself.

Giving his slumbering Servant a brief smile, he quietly dropped his stuff at the other end of the table before turning to face the television, which she must've left on after taking a break. Nothing but a special news report on that new hospital opening, and something about its ownership by some foreign corporation-

"W-Waugh?!"

*Thud*

Hakuno whipped his head around, finding a now-awake Jeanne sprawled on the floor and a smug-looking Tamamo hovering over her with her leg outstretched.

He didn't need three guesses to know what just happened.

"Y'know, if that's how you spend your studying time, then it's no wonder your grades suck so bad." Tamamo taunted, leaning over the exchange student/Servant with a satisfied smirk.

Jeanne groaned as she pushed herself back to her feet, visibly restraining herself from giving Caster a black eye. Again. "Oh shut up, you vulpine witch."

"Last I checked, you were the one who died like a witch." Tamamo snarled with a terrifying smile.

"And last I checked, you died with arrows piercing your throat like a rabid animal that needed putting down." Jeanne countered through grit teeth.

"And last I checked, we had a talk about you two antagonizing one another." Hakuno reminded them, the collective fury in his Servants' eyes dying the instant he entered the discussion.

Jeanne sighed, picking up one of her textbooks off the ground and placing it back on the table. "How did your training go? Did you master control of the {summon_shadow_servant()} Code Cast?"

Hakuno uneasily scratched his head while turning off the TV. "I… lost control of it the first time around. And the second. And the third. I was about to try it a fourth time, but I kinda burnt out and had to call it quits."

Tamamo clicked her tongue, folding her arms while her magecraft began hiding her vulpine features and changing her skimpy blue kimono to a bright blue blouse and a pair of black yoga pants. "Still, managing to summon three Shadow Servants, that's a testament to his potential." She grinned. "It's progress, and if he can do all that with little more than a couple of months of training and a Grail War under his belt, then I can't wait to see his abilities at full power."

"For once, we agree." Jeanne nodded. "Perhaps once my midterms are over, I can provide my own input in your training. Perhaps we can get set our Master on an exercise regimen to improve his physical capabilities alongside his magical ones."

Hakuno looked between the two of his Servants before examining his own body. True, he did have a lot of room for improvement, but he certainly wasn't unhealthy by any means. Though, with the way his Servants were looking at one another, he wasn't going to have any input on it one way or another.

"Also," Jeanne raised a brow while Tamamo began checking out the attire her magecraft conjured up. "I take it by your attire that you're not going to help with my studies."

"Nah, I got some other stuff to attend to." Tamamo gave Hakuno a quick peck on the cheek before conjuring up a bright pink purse and heading for the door. "Don't worry about me, I'll be back before it gets dark."

She left shortly afterward, leaving Hakuno and Jeanne alone again at home.

Jeanne sighed as she slumped back down on the kitchen table, opening up one of her textbooks. "Seriously, who does that woman think she is?"

Hakuno snorted before taking a seat across from her. "It wouldn't kill you to have a little faith in her."

Jeanne- Laeticia frowned with a sigh. "Honestly, I want to give her a chance, Master. However, I fear what a woman who leveled kingdoms for her own amusement is capable of."

"Well, she's not doing anything that bad now," Hakuno assured her. "She laid out her plan to me a while back. It's complicated, but her plan seemed foolproof. Besides, I'm pretty sure the Regalia would give me a heads up if she was about to do something incredibly destructive."

She looked up at him with a raised brow. "Caster informed you of her plans?"

"Mostly. It doesn't hurt to be surprised once in a while." He smirked before plucking Laeticia's textbook, something about religious studies, out of her hands and replacing it with one concerning her worst subject, math. "Now c'mon. You have a midterm to ace. And you're not gonna pass by putting all your focus on your best subject."

June 15, 2095.

Another two weeks passed by.

Laeticia's midterms came and went, and needless to say-

"I did it!"

-she passed.

The moment her classes came to an end, Laeticia had more or less flown out of her school grounds and into Hakuno's arms the second she saw him waiting outside for her.

"Is that Laeticia's boyfriend?"

"Really? A plain guy like that?"

"What?! What does that guy have that I don't have?!"

Hakuno, somehow not knocked off his feet, reciprocated the hug and embraced her, ignoring the envious stares of her dispersing classmates. "See, I knew you could do it- mmph?!"

Before he knew it, she put her arms around his neck and pulled him into a tender, loving kiss. It was sudden, and almost clumsy, but definitely affectionate. It caught him off guard, but he was certainly not complaining.

"Ah," Laeticia's blushing face graced his eyes the moment her lips parted from hers. "I-I… Uhh… that was…"

"I love you too," Hakuno answered for her, causing Laeticia to turn even redder. "I think you painted a massive target on my back for all your classmates, but that's nothing new to me."

"Ooh! They kissed!"

"That bastard! Why him?!"

"Damn it! Why is life so unfair?!"

He cheekily waved back at some of Laeticia's now-murderous-looking classmates, some of whom were trying to kill him with their eyes, others frothing at the mouth in jealousy, and this one guy in particular falling to his knees in utter despair. "You're pretty popular in your class, aren't you?"

Laeticia's face faltered a bit. "Perhaps. I'm not a fan of all the attention though."

"It could always be worse." Hakuno smiled, taking her arm in arm. "Let's get out of here. I'm sure you want to brag to our mutual friend about your achievement."

"Pride in excess is a sin, you know." Laeticia reminded him, the two walking arm in arm down the street.

"But the temptation is still there." Hakuno countered.

"Temptation is always present, but one always comes out stronger by overcoming it." Laeticia declared, hugging his arm even closer to her body. "Besides, I would rather have you all to myself right now."

Hakuno smiled back at her, enjoying this endearingly clingy side of hers. "It's a date, then."

"You really know how to show a girl a good time." She said teasingly.

"I aim to please." He smiled back.

The two spent much of the afternoon together. By the time they got to their front door, the sun was starting to set. They probably would've been out a bit later, but Hakuno's curfew was still cut short for the foreseeable future.

"You know, I'm still in the dark over Caster's plans." Laeticia reminded him.

"And I'm sure you'll see the fruits of her plans very soon-" Hakuno's voice trailed off, spying something just over her shoulder.

"Hmm?" Laeticia turned around, spotting a familiar brother and sister pair walking down the sidewalk. "Isn't that the Shiba siblings? I haven't seen them in a while."

"Me neither." Hakuno agreed. He hasn't seen them ever since they ditched him at the hospital. They hadn't picked up their phones, nor did they answer when he tried checking on their house every so often; it's like the two just vanished off the face of the earth.

And he wasn't even able to give Tatsuya his birthday present.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Laeticia said encouragingly. "Don't let me stop you. Talk to them. As for myself, the Lord's calling and he's telling me to get some sleep,"

"Alright, I'll do just that. Hopefully, they'll tell me what they've been up to these past few months." Hakuno walked over to the fence while Laeticia headed inside. He called over them, just as they were about to approach their own front door. "Hey, guys-"

Miyuki jumped, letting out a nearly inaudible squeak of surprise. Tatsuya almost immediately whirled around, pulling out a pistol CAD, a custom Silver Horn from his shoulder holster, and aiming it directly at Hakuno's head, only for his eyes to widen the moment he realized who he was aiming at. "...Kishinami?"

"Hey guys, long time no see." Hakuno nervously said as he awkwardly raised his hands up, his eyes locked at the CAD's barrel still aimed at his face. "Do you want to put that down anytime soon, or..."

Tatsuya holstered his CAD and brought a palm to his face. "Damn it, don't sneak up on us like that."

"I… really wasn't trying to. I'm standing all the way over here." Hakuno said slowly, resting his arms over the fence. "What happened to you guys? I haven't seen you guys in a long time."

They couldn't hide it from him. The Shiba siblings were in bad shape, Tatsuya moreso. It was subtle, but their postures were slightly slouched and there were dark circles around their eyes. Tatsuya was almost visibly gritting his teeth while Miyuki seemingly stared off into space, barely focusing on Hakuno's general direction.

"Ah, apologies for worrying you, Kishinami," Miyuki said drearily. "With school out, our aunt… she had us stay with her for a while…" Her voice, while audibly exhausted, was noticeably building up in anger. "While we were there… Onii-sama… you could say he asked her for a favor…" Tatsuya gave her an unreadable look, and she cleared her throat. "...It wasn't that big of a deal, mind you. Our aunt agreed, but she… worked Onii-sama to the bone in exchange for doing so."

Hakuno winced as he looked over the two a second time. "I really hope that favor was worth it."

Tatsuya almost glared at him, only relenting when Miyuki placed a hand on his shoulder. "...No, no it really wasn't. I nearly worried Miyuki sick because of what our aunt made me do… and it was all… for… nothing."

Tatsuya seemed so… defeated. Whatever his aunt put him through must've driven him to the edge. And that was after the whole First High Disaster stressing him out in the first place.

At first, Hakuno was curious about who his aunt was and what she made him do, the Moon Cell was certainly willing to tell him through the Regalia, but he decided against asking. He was definitely not going to pry into their family affairs, but there was still something he could do…

"...It's clear you don't want to talk about it. Probably not now, probably not ever." Hakuno said matter-of-factly, "However, if you need to vent about it, or want someone to talk to, you know where to find me."

The two Shiba siblings seemingly eased up, if only a little, with Tatsuya cracking the tiniest of smiles "Thank you, Kishinami. Maybe one of these days, we'll hold you to that."

"Don't mention it." Hakuno smiled, "Actually, Laeticia and I were going to head over to see the others tomorrow. Wanna come with?"

"We'd love to." Miyuki said. "Do you mind if we visit them in the afternoon? Onii-sama are tired as is."

"Sure, that sounds great." Hakuno said, about to head home, before turning back again. "Oh, and before I forget-"

*ka-thunk*

Only for the Shiba siblings to enter their house and close the door behind them, more likely than not to retire for the night.

"...Alright, I guess I'll tell you guys tomorrow." Hakuno said awkwardly, just as his parents were rolling up from a long day at work.

"Hakuno, what're you doing out there?" Hakuno's dad called out to him, waving a bag with what he presumed was food from that Chinese place they'd been going to recently. "Come on in, we brought dinner."

"Right, coming Dad."

June 16, 2095.

The next day, the four took the next 'train' nearest to the hospital. It was then that Hakuno began to fill them in on the changes that had occurred in the past two months.

"Wait, wait, wait." Miyuki interrupted him as they disembarked. "What do you mean they kept changing hospitals?"

"They were transferred to this long-term care facility off the outskirts of Tokyo a week after you guys left, and then they were transferred to this new one two weeks ago." He explained while they left the station. "I haven't been able to check this one out yet, but from what I heard, it was built by this foreign corporation. They somehow even got it staffed and licensed up in record time."

"I dunno. It all sounds like a power play to me." Tatsuya muttered under his breath.

Laeticia raised a brow. "A power play? How so? I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter."

"Whoever this 'foreign corporation' is, I doubt they would so kindly help out in an incident based solely in Japan out of the goodness of their heart. They probably wanted a new foothold in the Japanese market, and used the opportunity as a giant PR stunt to put both the government and the Hundred Families on the spot. If they accept their help, then they get their foot in the door and Japan looks weak on the international stage for failing to solve this on their own. If they don't accept, then it can easily backfire and will look like neither the government nor the Hundred Families can put aside their pride to help their youth. No matter what happens, Japan looks weak."

Hakuno uncomfortably reeled away from Tatsuya. "...That's a pessimistic way to see the situation."

"Perhaps you're looking a bit too into it?" Laeticia offered. "There may be some financial motive, sure, but it's a bit much to simply dismiss the good a new healthcare center may do for the community. The backlash against the Japanese government may be more of a side-effect rather than the main intention."

"I genuinely doubt some corporate board of directors would do something like this out of altruism." Tatsuya disagreed, shaking his head. "Even if embarrassing Japan wasn't their intention, then they must want something for all their efforts."

It was clear Tatsuya wanted to discuss (read: monologue) the matter more, but before he could continue, they made it to their destination.

The Hospital, the Blessed Samaritan's Medical and Healthcare Center… well, it looked like the bastard child of a high-end medical institution and a prison. The facility itself was pristine, immaculate even. And there were security measures of every kind surrounding the whole place: checkpoints, metal detectors, security cameras, and armed guards at every entrance. Despite the menacing appearances, it did not seem to dissuade any passerby from going in or out at all. Hell, with the lack of rioters in the area, it was probably one of the safer areas in the city.

Anyways, the four entered the hospital and got stopped by the security checkpoint. The guard let Hakuno and Laeticia in with little more than a brief search and stroll through the metal detector, but stopped the Shiba siblings in their tracks the moment they set off the alarm.

"Sorry kids, no CADs or magical catalysts of any kind allowed." The security guard said, pointing towards the security room. "You'll have to deposit them in the security room and collect them before you go."

Miyuki frowned, while Tatsuya grumbled something under his breath before motioning to Hakuno in the distance, "Just go on ahead, we'll catch up."

With a simple wave off, the Master and Servant went on ahead to the receptionists and got the room numbers to his friends.

One had to admit, despite the constant feeling of being watched, the air around here felt much more pleasant than back at Tokyo General Hospital, or even the long-term care facility. Granted, it only opened recently and wasn't flooded with angry patients, outraged families, and exhausted medical staff, but it was still quite a striking difference from past experiences.

Anyways, they made their way to the elevator, where they went up to their desired floor and went to the Recreation room, where most of the patients were supposed to be at the time.

"Yo, guys! Over here!" Leonhart called him over.

Needless to say, Erika, Leonhart, and Mizuki were in much better shape than they were two months ago. Granted, the bruises healed and the casts were all removed, and they were all bound to wheelchairs, but it was definitely a step up compared to their earlier conditions.

"Wow, you all look great." Laeticia complimented.

"I know, right?" Erika grinned, flexing her arms. "I love this place! It's much better than those other places they shipped us to!"

"I agree." Mizuki nodded. "They actually told us they're ready to discharge us soon."

"Really?"

"Well, they still have to make rehab arrangements and all that other discharge crap, but for the most part we're all ready to go home!" Erika added. "What about you guys? What've you been up to lately?"

"I just finished up my midterms," Laeticia said proudly. "I wouldn't have passed without Hakuno's help these past few weeks."

Hakuno sheepishly scratched his head. "I just helped out as best as I could. Couldn't really do much else except help her study. God knows we might get our midterms the second class lets up again."

"Urgh, don't remind me." Leonhart rolled his eyes. "I don't even want to know how far behind we are in the curriculum."

"True, we're all set back pretty far, but I'm pretty sure we can catch up."

The Shiba siblings arrived from behind the Master and Servant, approaching the group with the composed air they didn't have before.

"Hey, nice of you to join us!" Erika joked, waving at the two siblings. "Where were ya? We haven't seen you in forever."

"Family issues. It's not important." Tatsuya waved her off. "So, how did you guys recover so quickly? I doubt that two months of physical therapy could bring your recovery to this point."

"We're still surprised by that too. We were still in casts when we arrived." Mizuki admitted, "I don't know what they did to help us, but I'm glad we're all recovering so quickly."

"Meh, it's not like it really matters anyway!" Leonhart said, "I'm just glad that I'll be able to walk again by the end of the month."

"I doubt it's that simple," Miyuki said sadly. "I'm pretty sure that physical rehabilitation will take much longer than the end of the month to complete."

"At least it's a step in the right direction." Hakuno noted, "We should all be happy you're getting better."

"...How are all of you guys just okay with this?"

All eyes turned towards Tatsuya, who seemed to be cupping his chin, deep in thought.

"I can't be the only one bothered by how some foreign corporation just came out of nowhere, pays for the healthcare of every injured student here, and expects nothing out of it."

"I wouldn't say 'nothing', sir. One could say I have much to gain by this venture."

A cold chill ran through Hakuno's spine.

He recognized that voice.

A young man with blonde hair and a red pinstripe suit approached them. He was short, probably shorter than the average European youth, but his regal demeanor and poise more than made up the difference. His bright green eyes, brimming with confidence and superiority, flickered with confusion the sole second his focus came upon Laeticia, and vanished just as quickly, replaced with a glint of elation once his eyes met with Hakuno's. But, most important of all, were the three Command Spells that graced the individual's right hand, marking him as a Master of the Holy Grail War.

"Greetings. My name is Leonardo Bistario Harwey." The young man said with a polite bow. "One may say I run things around here. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

A/N: And done! Wow, I bet you didn't see that coming, did you? There was a lot of worldbuilding in this one, but that's to be expected when one drastically changes the setting for better or worse. I didn't involve Tamamo in this chapter as much as I wanted to, but don't worry; I have lots of plans for her. And fortunately, I was able to establish a unique relationship she has with both Hakuno and Jeanne, so a win's a win. I'm definitely going to add more Mahouka elements in later chapters, maybe even from the later novels if I find something inspiring. Anyways, that's all I got for now, so please review!
