Chapter 7: Quarter Final Part 1

Goku and Krillin were laughing, elated with themselves and their accomplishments in the preliminary matches as they ran through the crowd. Both were so small that they hardly reached most peoples waistline.

"I don't think we're ever going to find Master Roshi in this crowd!" Krillin said.

Goku didn't answer but requested the help of the tallest man closest to them. The man allowed Goku to stand on his shoulders as he looked with his hands over his eyes and spotted something, "Over there!" he said pointing.

Five minutes earlier, Ranko had just managed to escape from the building and find a secluded spot where she again took out the incense and changed back to the old man. Roshi began hastily changing into his black suit and staff. As he dressed quickly he grumbled to himself, "I didn't foresee how annoying it would be to constantly change clothes and allow for time to transform. These kinds of tricks using a dual identity were so much easier back in the old days where it only took a splash of water to transform."

"Well, we could have just gone straight to the meeting hall for the finalists, but the boys would have been hurt if they couldn't brag of their accomplishments to their teacher. And I certainly wouldn't allow that." Ranko replied.

Roshi just grumbled some more as he finished adjusting his hat and departed from the bushes. He walked by a gift stall and bought a few items for an alibi, though Ranko was suspicious of his true motives. Roshi then rendezvoused with Bulma and the gang where she quickly reprimanded him.

"Roshi!" she shouted, "Where have you been? The preliminary matches are over!"

"Oh well, you see…" he began hesitantly, "This place is like a cattle herd, I went off to find the restroom and you wouldn't believe the lines!"

"Well, while you were off on your bathroom adventure, your boys were kicking some serious tail!" Oolong said a bit annoyed.

"Yeah, even Yamcha made it!" Bulma added.

Roshi nodded, "Yes, from what I heard they simply breezed through their matches, though I suspect the finals will be much harder…oh right! I got you a present Bulma."

Bulma looked a little startled. "A present for me?"

"Yes, I saw this at a stall and knew you had to have it" he said holding up an orange t-shirt with the world tournament insignia on it. "Take it, as a token of friendship."

"Hmmm" Ranko said skeptically with a tone of accusation.

"Wow, thanks! I didn't realize you could be so nice." Bulma said holding the t-shirt up to her.

Roshi adopted his usual lecherous drooling look. "Perhaps you could do me a favor, as a friend…" Bulma suddenly looked disgusted and annoyed with herself. Roshi continued, "Could you squeeze into that tight little shirt for me?"

"And THERE it is!" Ranko said angrily.

"UGH! PERVERT!" Bulma shouted and slugged him as hard as she could with an uppercut. Roshi went flying 20 feet into the air and stayed with impressive hangtime before gravity brought him down.

"Gee Bulma. Maybe you should have entered the tournament yourself." Oolong joked as Bulma blew her knuckles with a pained face.

"My goodness my love, you certainly are a glutton for punishment." Ranko said in an amused tone. "Her similarities to Akane increase, there aren't many girls who can knock a grown man into the sky with a punch. I wonder if that's why you keep coming back for more?" she added in a mocking tone.

Before Roshi could respond to this jab, a voice called out to them. "Hey guys! There you are!" Bulma, Oolong and Puar turned around, Roshi was still on the ground holding his chin. A few feet away nest to a wall were Goku and Krillin smiling and waving.

Oolong ran up to Goku first, "Wow kid you were amazing in there!" he said shaking both of Goku's hands.

"Yeah, we watched you both from the hole made in the wall!" said Bulma coming up from behind and smiling. "You were both so amazing!" She then looked over and frowned in a huffy way as it seemed Roshi had recovered and came up next to her.

"Well done boys, well done indeed" he said in a stoic manner as if there wasn't a bandage on his chin.

"Thanks!" Goku said with a huge grin. "It was so much fun!"

"It was like a dream!" Krillin said. "I knew we were going to win the whole time of course!" (Which of course was a lie.)

Just then an announcement came over the intercom system announcing that the finalists for the tournament were to meet in the main hall. Goku and Krillin leapt onto the wall and turned around and waved goodbye before jumping over it. As Bulma, Oolong and Puar were wishing them luck, Roshi took his chance to disappear and change back into Ranko and headed to the main hall.

"Where did Master Roshi go?" said Puar hovering a little higher to see over the heads of the crowd.

"I swear there's something wrong with that old geezer's head!" Bulma said ruefully.

Meeting Hall

Goku and Krillin walked into the building adjacent to the one where they held the preliminaries. Once inside a robed monk (all the staff of the tournament were monks and priests) showed them to a small room where the competitors were gathered. On the other side of the room from the entrance was the doors leading to the competitors entrance to the arena. Goku and Krillin looked around to see what the others were up too. Ranko and Aloe were standing against the wall, talking in quiet tones. Momo and Touya were in separate corners waiting patiently and observing Goku and Krillin with interest. Krillin stared at the young man wearing the turban and Indian robes who was meditating with intense focus. Yamcha was there and approached Goku immediately.

"Goku, you made it!" Yamcha said smiling. "Did you find Bulma and Puar?"

"Yeah! Oh, and Bulma says "Hi" Goku said innocently.

Yamcha chuckled a bit at Goku's naiveté but before he could answer they were all called to attention by a young man. This young man had blond hair in a sleek pompadour and wore a black suit with a purple undershirt, a red tie, black dress shoes, and sunglasses. He was carrying a clipboard and a pointing stick that a teacher might use.

"Everyone competing I need you up here by me at the front!" he said in a loud announcers voice. When everyone gathered around him he raised the pointer and showed them a large whiteboard on the wall with a tournament bracket drawn on it.

"You will be drawing lots to determine your order in the fights just like the preliminary. So when I call your name step forward and draw a number from the box." He looked at his clipboard and said "Naam, is it?"

"Nam" answered the young man in the turban. Despite him being young his voice was deep and rich. He approached the monk holding the lottery box and placed his hand inside and shortly brought out a slip of paper. "Five" he said simply.

"Okay, that puts you in fight 3." The young man with the pompadour said and scribbled Nam's name next to the number 5 on the whiteboard. "Ok let's keep it moving, next is Momo." He looked expectantly at the boys but was thoroughly shocked when the large chimera was the one that stepped forward.

"That's number 8 so that's the last fight" he said getting over his shock. "Next is Touya Hibiki!"

Touya stepped forward and drew number 1.

"Okay, number 1, first fight. Now, Yamcha!"

Yamcha reached into the box eagerly and drew out a 4.

"Number 4, that's fight 2. Krillin! Where's Krillin?"

"Here!" Krillin said nervously. He stepped forward and standing on tiptoes reached his hand in the box. After struggling a bit, he pulled out number 2.

"Number 2, that puts you up against Touya in match 1! Alright, next is...Gah-kay-uh."

Everyone looked confused. The announcer looked at his clipboard confusedly and scratched his head. Yamcha came up from behind and said, "sorry to butt in, but that says Goku."

The announcer's face turned red and stammered, "yes of course hahaha. Is there a Goku here?"

"ME!" Goku shouted and bounded forward to the box and pulled out a 7.

"Number 7 puts you in the last fight with Momo. Next is Aloe!"

The lavender haired woman stepped forward silently drew from the box number 6.

"That puts you against Nam in the third match. Which means.." the announcer said looking at his clipboard, "Miss Akane is number 3 and will face Yamcha in round 2!"

Momo, Aloe, and Touya shot Ranko a short look but didn't say anything. They figured she had her reasons for not using her usual alias.

"It feels a little strange using my deceased wife's name." Roshi said. "Why on earth did you call yourself Ranko when you met Goku?"

"Don't complain to me!" Ranko said angrily. "I've always used that name for the last 200 years and you used it to deceive your mother so she wouldn't find out about our transformations. And I didn't mean to meet Goku and Krillin at all! They just had poor timing when they came to our island!"

"A few notices before we begin" said the announcer as he cleared his throat. "The rules are slightly different than the preliminary rounds. There is no time limit. You win when your opponent gives up, is knocked out, stays down for 10 seconds, or falls out of the ring. No poking in the eyes and no deliberate blows to the vital areas."

"What's a vital area?" Goku asked to Krillin's embarrassment.

"You know, the parts that make us boys" said the announcer.

"Oh? And what about my parts?" said Aloe with a convincingly straight face. Ranko had to put her hands over her face to conceal her laughter as the announcer fell backwards.

"All right everyone without further ado let's get the tournament under way!" the announcer said blushing fiercely. "Touya and Krillin, you two are up first. I'll be giving a quick greeting to the audience before announcing you two." He took a microphone out of his pocket and walked outside the doors where he was greeted by enormous applause.

The Arena

The announcer walked out of the door and down a short, paved path to a brick wall that separated the arena from the main building and stepped out into the ring. The wall had a large gap that served as the entrance to the arena. The gap was partially blocked by a canvas screen. Both participants would go around either side of the screen and walk to opposite sides of the ring. The ring itself was a 30x30 square made from square white marble tiles raised about 3 feet off the ground. About 10 feet from all sides aside from the entrance was a low brick wall separating the ring from the audience. All sides were packed with audience members, all cheering and waving their arms. Bulma, Oolong, and Puar had managed to get to the front opposite side of the competitors entrance.

"Welcome fight fans to the 21st World Martial arts Tournament!" the announcer said into the microphone. "I'll be your Master of Ceremonies this year and I can't wait to get started!" He took a short bow as the audience applauded before he continued; "We have an amazing line up of fighters this year, so allow me to announce the line up for this year's tournament!"

"Round 1 is Touya Hibiki vs Krillin!"

"Round 2, Akane vs Yamcha!"

"Round 3, Nam vs Aloe!"

"And finally Round 4 is Goku vs Momo!"

Each time he announced names he was drowned out by enormous applause, and it took him a few minutes to regain silence. When all was quiet again he cleared his throat, "Before I kick off the first match our head chairman of the World Martial Arts committee will say a word."

A short polite applause was given as an anthropomorphic dog man wearing a Buddhist priests robes approached the center of the ring. The beast man took the microphone from the MC and faced the crowd. The audience was completely silent as the dog man stared out all around the audience. Finally the chairman cleared his throat and said into the microphone, "Woof."

"What wisdom!" said the MC clapping politely as the entire audience face faulted backwards with a huge THUD. "Without further ado let's get started!" The audience immediately recovered and started cheering wildly.

"Can we have the first two fighters and so can get the first match of the quarter finals under way! Please give a huge round of applause for Touya and Krillin!"

The crowd gave enormous applause as Touya and Krillin walked out onto opposite sides of the ring and faced each other. The MC stood a few paces back with his hand in the air as monks began beating ceremonial drums. The MC did not drop his hand as the beating of the drums grew faster and faster. Finally the drums stopped altogether and at that moment the MC dropped his hand and shouted, "Begin!"

Krillin wasted no time and charged Touya at full speed. Touya was caught off guard at Krillin's speed and braced himself. Krillin unleashed a flurry of punches into Touya's legs and torso, working upwards and finishing with a strong kick to the face. This barrage should have ended the fight right there, but Touya didn't fall. He staggered back two paces and recovered his stance; there wasn't a scratch or bruise anywhere on his body. Krillin, however, backed away and nearly fell over. He looked at his hands and saw his knuckles turned red and his right foot that had delivered the kick was wobbling.

"What is this?" Krillin said still shaking. "It's like his body is made of stone!"

He looked up just in time to see that Touya had leapt into the air and was bringing down his fist to where Krillin's head was. Krillin side stepped to the right as Touya's right fist smashed into the arena floor, completely shattering the white tile. Without missing a beat Krillin delivered a hard punch to Touya's face before he could stand up. Touya seemed not to feel it and before Krillin could pull away, grabbed Krillin's arm with his left hand and lifted Krillin into the air and slammed him hard into a fresh tile, shattering that one as well. Touya let go and pulled back, expecting it to be over. But Krillin almost immediately leapt up and backed away a few feet and resumed his stance and they stared each other down.

The crowd went wild at the sight of this short but vicious exchange as the MC spoke, "Amazing! Krillin has unleashed a powerful barrage upon Touya but the only one who seems worse for ware is Krillin himself!"

From the competitors entrance Ranko, was observing closely. Goku and Yamcha had climbed to the top of the wall to get a better view of the fight and were cheering Krillin on. Roshi spoke into Ranko's mind,

"Well it looks like the training methods of the Hibiki clan hasn't changed one bit since Ryoga passed. Using the Breaking Point on larger stones causes shrapnel from the broken stone to pummel the user. Eventually the body adapts to the constant bombardment and becomes hard as stone itself."

"Yes" Ranko said. "As you clearly intended, Krillin faces an enemy he cannot conquer with brute force. Throughout the preliminaries he overcame far more learned fighters with overwhelming physical abilities. Now he will see how much he has to learn."

"Don't count your chicken's before they hatch." Roshi chided. "Look."

Ranko looked at Krillin and saw that he was smiling. "Oh?" she said. "Does he have an idea?"

Krillin ran full speed at Touya again and slipped right through the gap of his legs. Before Touya could turn around Krillin kicked Touya in the back of the legs, forcing his knees to buckle and him to collapse onto the ground. Krillin then grabbed Touya's legs and prepared to lift him. He was going to throw him from the ring just as Goku had done to his final opponent in the preliminary. Touya seemed to realize this and before Krillin could lift him, Touya jabbed his index finger into the ground causing the tile and the surrounding tiles to explode in a storm of dust and shrapnel.

Ranko whistled in appreciation. "Wow, his mastery of the Breaking Point may just rival his ancestor."

From the cloud of dust both fighters leapt out on opposite sides. Krillin was coughing and couldn't see. Touya however seemed fine, he ran at Krillin and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach knocking the wind out of him. Krillin landed at the corner of the ring with his arm hanging over the side.

The commentary resumed as the crowd cheered in amazement. "Wow! After a daring attempt to throw Touya from the ring, Touya countered by destroying part of the arena! During the confusion he knocked Krillin over to edge of the ring. Will this be the end? Wait! Krillin is sitting up!"

Krillin struggled to his feet, breathing hard. He had a busted lip and was clutching his stomach where Touya's kick landed, Touya was still undamaged.

"There is no shame in surrender." Touya said kindly over the cheers of the crowd. "You have come far for your age and fought well. Wisdom is another part of strength."

Krillin frowned and stopped clutching his stomach and wiped the blood from his mouth. "Who asked you anyway? I'm not gonna hold back anymore!"

Krillin charged at such a blinding speed that Touya momentarily lost sight of him. It didn't take him long to find him though because he immediately felt his elbow in his gut. Krillin's full speed on top of his full strength created such a forceful blow that the wind knocked out of Touya entirely and went flying backwards several feet tumbling onto the ground, leaving him gasping. But before he could recover Krillin had sped towards the wall that connected to the entrance (which was still inbounds of the ring), leapt up, kicked off the wall as hard as he could and using the walls rebound plowed his elbow again into Touya's gut.

Ranko whistled appreciatively. "That wasn't bad." Roshi conceded.

"What an amazing counterattack!" the MC said with delight. "Krillin moved at such an amazing speed I couldn't even see him! He reappeared momentarily to send Touya flying and delivered a flying elbow to his opponents stomach! And it appears he's not moving! I'll start the countdown! 1...2…3…4…"

He didn't get any farther as Touya pulled himself up groaning in pain but otherwise unharmed and ready to continue the fight. Krillin on the other hand was holding his elbow which had turned red like his knuckles.

"That was a very good attack, and if I was anyone else that would have ended the battle right there. But it's time for you to step down now, you're only hurting yourself if this goes on." Touya said firmly.

Krillin didn't answer but resumed his fighting stance. Touya sighed and resumed his stance as well. For a few moments they just stared at each other, then suddenly Krillin charged again at that impossible speed. Touya was ready though and brought up his knee to stop Krillin's head on attack. But Krillin stopped just inches short of Touya's knee and leapt up and delivered a swift kick. Unfortunately Touya saw through this feint and blocked it with his arm and with his other arm stuck Krillin in the face while he was still in the air, sending him flying backwards towards the edge of the very edge of the ring.

"Another fantastic skirmish!" the MC cried. "Krillin attempted another of his speedy attacks, but it seems that Touya has adapted to his speed is able to see through Krillin's moves! Touya delivered a strong punch that sent Krillin flying to the edge of the ring! I'll begin the countdown!"

"Stay down!" Ranko moaned biting her lip. She had grown extremely fond of the boys in an almost motherly way, and she didn't mind kicking their butts herself but got extremely upset when others picked on them.

"1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…wait! He's getting up!"

Krillin managed to stand up and to Ranko's discomfort, he was smiling. Battered, bleeding, and bruised, but smiling. He seemed to have come up with a new plan. Touya was unwilling to give him time to rest and came at Krillin again and prepared to throw another punch. When he was within arm's length Krillin grinned and struck the floor with his index finger. The edge of the ring they were standing on began to crumble and Touya began to lose his balance. Krillin leapt up and used Touya's head as a springboard to escape the crumbling structure, causing Touya to fall over completely with the debris and landed outside the ring.

"And that's a ring out!" shouted the MC. "The winner of the first match of the World Martial Arts Tournament is Krillin!"

The crowd roared and whistled as Krillin stood in the center of the ring with an embarrassed look on his swelling face. Ranko clapped politely from behind the screen with a relieved and then troubled look on her face. "Well that backfired my love" she said in a forced casual tone.

"Yes, I underestimated Krillin's resourcefulness." Roshi mused. "It was clear that Krillin soon realized what I wanted him to. That physical prowess alone isn't enough to win fights at this level, especially when your opponents power matches your own. In a contest between an unstoppable spear and an unbreakable shield the victor is determined by the skill of the wielder. By rights Krillin should have lost, but the tournament allows more than one way to score a victory."

"Not to worry love" she whispered as she stretched and cracked her neck. "I can take care of him in the semifinals." She turned her head and saw that Krillin had come back from the arena and was gossiping happily with Goku and Yamcha. "After I take care of Ukyo's descendent" she added.

At that moment, an announcement came over the intercom. "Ladies and Gentlemen we will be taking a short intermission while we repair the arena for the next bout. In the meantime please enjoy the concession stands and gift stalls. Don't go to far, we will announce when the repairs are finished, thank you!"

Meeting Hall

"That was so amazing Krillin!" Goku said enthusiastically. "It looked like so much fun! I wish I could have fought that Touya guy!"

"YOU might call it fun." Krillin said rubbing his arms and knuckles with a pained expression. "But that guy was made of steel. I honestly wasn't sure I could win for a moment. If that last trick with the breaking point didn't work, I would have to throw in the towel."

"You certainly lasted longer than I would!" Yamcha said fervently. "His movements weren't that complex or very fast, but his stamina and ability to adapt were superb! It really hits home that this tournament brings the best of the best!"

At the other side of the room Touya was speaking to Ranko and apologizing. "I'm sorry, Miss Ranko. I should have been able to beat him, but I let my guard down at the last moment."

"Don't worry about it" she said nonchalantly. "You impressed well upon him that he isn't as strong as he thinks he is, and that he still has much to learn."

"I'm glad that you aren't too upset at my losing." he said smiling. His face then took a more serious note. "I'm afraid I can't stay to watch the outcome of the tournament; I have a long journey ahead of me." He punctuated this by dawning a heavy backpack and camping gear.

Ranko looked confused. "I thought you lived close to this island. It shouldn't take you that long to get home."

"Well…" he said embarrassingly rubbing the back of his head; "You see I headed out the moment I received your letter 6 months ago, I only just got here in time to register."

"6 mont-!" she stammered. "Where on earth did you go!?"

Touya opened his backpack to reveal an enormous pile of souvenirs from all over the world. "Well, apparently everywhere but here."

Ranko face faulted hard with an audible exasperated groan. Roshi's laughter rang in her head.

"Just like his ancestor! Absolutely no sense of direction! Why I remember the first time Ryoga challenged me to a fight. It was in the abandoned lot behind his house. I waited there for 3 whole days, but he didn't show up until the 4th day! He literally got lost in his own backyard!"

Ranko struggled to her feet. "Well I won't keep you then. The master will write again to you soon. Although next time we need your help I think we'll just pick you up."

Touya smiled. "Thank you again, and goodbye. I have a plane to catch."

And with that he walked away and out of the building, past the crowds, out the entrance gates and turned…in the opposite direction of the airport.

"I wonder if he'll be okay…" Ranko mused. "Oh well, Ryoga always managed to survive so I'm sure he'll be fine."

After about 30 minutes the loudspeakers throughout the colosseum blared and the MC's voice rang out, *DING*DONG* "Attention ladies and gentlemen! The ring is now repaired, and the 2nd match of the Quarter finals will soon begin. Will contestants Akane and Yamcha please report to the ring!" *DING*DONG*.

There was a short scramble as people hastened to return to their seats. The competitors meanwhile were waiting in the meeting hall. Aloe was intensely gazing at her soon to be opponent, Nam. The young man was standing completely still in a corner with his eyes closed in meditation. There was a look of focus and determination on his face. Suddenly, as if his thoughts and emotion came to a boil he opened his eyes fiercely and punched the air in front of him, followed by a thrusting knife-hand. And then breathing deeply, regained his composure and returned to his meditation. Aloe continued to gaze at him almost unblinkingly, it was impossible to tell what she was thinking.

"You could cut the tension here with a knife." Ranko said under her breath as she walked to the entrance of the arena. Yamcha was already ahead of her.

"Yes, they both have spirit and drive." Roshi answered.

The MC's voice rang out again "Alright fight fans, I admit I've been waiting for this one! It's a battle of opposites! Male vs. Female, Young vs. Old, Youth vs. Experience!"

"Who's he calling old?!" Ranko said angrily as both she and Yamcha entered the ring from opposite sides of the screen.

The MC continued, "Over on my left is Yamcha!" An explosion of applause greeted the introduction. Bulma, Oolong, and Puar who were in front were especially loud with their cheers. Goku was also cheering, he had jumped up and hung over the wall separating the ring from the main building to get a better view. "And to my right is Akane!" Another explosion of applause although Bulma and company didn't cheer this time but were eyeing her curiously. The MC stood to the side and raised his arm, and the familiar drums began again. When they stopped the MC shouted, "Begin!"

Yamcha took a fighting stance and eyed Akane as she stood still with her arms behind her back looking at him a bit bored. Yamcha seemed a little unnerved by this but quickly decided to attack first and ask questions later. He leapt into the air towards her and delivered a punch with his right fist. She dodged almost casually looking sidelong at his fist by her face without turning her head. He quickly followed up with a powerful roundhouse kick, which she also deftly dodged by leaping completely over him and landing lightly behind him, arms still behind her back. Yamcha charged again and struck again with his hand in a clawed fist. Again she dodged by leaping backwards and landing lightly and gracefully with one leg still in the air so that she looked like a crane.

"That time you almost touched me" she said in an amused voice. "Akane" then placed her foot down and resumed speaking to Yamcha. "Your moves are big and fun to look at, I'm sure the girls like it! But I'm afraid they're unrefined and a waste of energy."

"I'll show you!" Yamcha retorted and charged.

Yamcha began a flurry of punches and kicks to which she easily dodged hardly sparing each strike a second glance and looking increasingly more bored. The audience cheered as Goku and Bulma and company stared and gawked at her impossible speed.

"The way she moves!" Goku said. "Krillin look at this!"

Krillin leapt up the wall and looked at her still casually dodging everything Yamcha threw at her. "You know Goku, I never really noticed before but now that I look at her, there are a lot of similarities between her and Miss Ranko!"

"I know!" said Goku nodding. "And it's not just her looks and voice, it's the way she carries herself and bored face. But her hair is different, and she smells like oranges, not flowers."

"Hair dye and perfume would camouflage those points easily!" Krillin said dismissively. "But she's too old to be Ranko! And according to her and the master, Ranko is his last living relative."

"Akane's" face twitched in slight annoyance as the boys weren't exactly being careful to whisper their conversation about her.

"Now aren't you glad I aged you up a bit?" Roshi asked mockingly.

Ranko didn't answer but leapt backwards as Yamcha tried to deliver a powerful kick to her head.

"Amazing!" the MC exclaimed. "Yamcha has let loose a speedy onslaught of attacks, but he just can't seem to land a hit on the even speedier Akane!"

This commentary seemed to goad Yamcha to his limit and he decided to break out his trump card. He took a new fighting stance and his eyes turned reddish and a battle aura surrounded him and took shape of a wolf superimposed over him like a holograph. Ranko's eyebrows raised, and she finally took her arms from behind her back and took a stance herself and Yamcha charged.

"Wolf Fang Fist!"

"Akane" remained quite still and seemed to lack any emotion at all. In fact, she was using the "Soul of Ice" technique to rid herself of emotion completely. Yamcha's attacks were coming in much faster now and she was just barely dodging them, but this time she was dodging with purpose. She seemed to Goku to be moving in a spiral, allowing Yamcha to get closer with each a swing so that he wouldn't give up. Then finally they reached the center of the spiral and she said in a light tone;

"Well boy this is the end, don't worry this will only be about 25%, I don't want to hurt you after all."

She then brought her fist up in an uppercut and shouted, "Hiryu Shoten Ha!" (Heaven Blast of the Dragon).

A powerful whirlwind followed her fist that sent Yamcha flying into the air and out of the ring where he landed on the soft grass. There was stunned silence for a moment before the MC shouted, "Oh my, that's a ring out! Miss Akane wins the second match of the Quarter Final!" The crowd erupted in fresh cheers as the boys on the wall just gawked.

"Wow! Did you see that? It was like a tornado came from her fist!" Goku exclaimed, his voice shaking.

"That was scary! Who has to fight her next? Oh, crap it' me isn't it?" Krillin said shakily.

End of Chapter 7
