It was still the night of Christmas Eve 2016 and James and Lily had just concluded their review of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on Lily's YouTube channel, Lily Luna's World. But they hadn't signed off yet because...

"Hey, James?" asked with Lily with anticipation her voice, "Don't you think it would make sense to also review Frosty the Snowman while we're here?"

"Let's do it!" said James eagerly.

"So, " grinned Lily, "What I love most about Frosty the Snowman is that's about the joy of imagination."

"I totally agree, " replied James a nanosecond later, "How much fun is it to imagine building a snowman and having it come to life?"

"Pure magic, " said Lily cheerfully.

"You know, " said James thoughtfully, "The filmmakers of Frosty the Snowman wanted it to have the look of a Christmas card and I think they succeeded."

"Absolutely, " said Lily glowingly, "The depictions of Frosty and Santa you see in Frosty the Snowman would indeed look great on Christmas Cards as would the Christmas scene featuring the woodland animals."

"Oh yes, " beamed James, "Gotta love the woodland animals, "So what do you think is the funniest part of Frosty the Snowman is?"

"That's an easy one, " smirked Lily, "When the cop shallows his whistle."

"Oh yeah, LOL at that!" agreed James, "We all know of course, that the saddest part is Frosty melts in the greenhouse, and you see the melted Frosty with Karen crying beside."

"Even after multiple viewings and knowing what's coming, it's hard to watch that scene, " admitted Lily, "Thank goodness Santa was able to revive him though. The magic of Christmas Snow indeed! Though it's always a bit perplexing to me when Professor Hinkle tells Santa "And just what are you going to do about it!" when Santa warns him not to touch the hat. Like who would dare talk to Santa like that?"

"I know, right, " agreed James, "I love the parade at the end, but the ending feels so bittersweet. It's honestly hard to watch Karen say goodbye to Frosty as Santa takes off with him. Rudolph had a much happier ending."

"True, " said Lily crisply, "I'm so glad Karen named him Frosty though. Those other kids were coming up with some really retarded name ideas. Oatmeal?! WTF!"

"While fun and entertaining, there are some noticeable flaws and inconsistencies, " piped up James, "Like Frosty's level of awareness when he comes to life is so piecemeal. He knows what a thermometer is but doesn't what a lamp post or a traffic light is?"

"And how the hell does Karen think she can get to the North Pole and back before dinner when it's afternoon already!" said Lily, shaking her head.

"We can't be too critical though, " said James clearly, "It's a movie meant for entertainment aimed at children. "

"Yes, " said Lily simply, "One thing though is that Frosty should ALWAYS have to have his hat to be alive. I've seen some sequels in which Frosty can live without his hat and that just bugs me to no end."

"The hat being Frosty's life force is fundamental to who the character Frosty the Snowman is, " agreed James instantly, "There's are also sequels in which Frosty has a wife and kids who come to life. I HATE that. Part of what makes the lore of Frosty special is that's he the ONLY living snowman."

"Yep, " said Lily briskly, "While there are a few inconsistencies and while this is not as good as Rudolph the Reindeer. I still have to give Frosty a very high score for its magicalness and joy of imagination. 9 out of 10."

"8 out of 10 for me, " added James, "It doesn't have all the catchy songs like Rudolph does and even the title song is sung piecemeal throughout the show, and there isn't a character in Frosty the Snowman I like as much as Yukon Cornelius. Still, Frosty the Snowman is a thoroughly enjoyable show to watch around Christmastime. It's magicalness and imagination are a joy to behold. I recommend Frosty the Snowman but none of the sequels."

"That's right, " said Lily firmly, "Do watch Frosty the Snowman, don't waste your time with the sequels. So, that's all for the night. For my favorite brother James Sirius Potter, this is Lily Luna Potter speaking for Lily Luna's World. Thank you for watching and see you all next time. Potters out!"
