It was Christmas Eve 2017 and James and Lily were in Lily's room. For the second straight year, they would be making a Christmas themed video on Lily's YouTube channel.

"Good evening friends, " said Lily cheerfully as they started recording, "And welcome back to Lily Luna's world. As usual, I am joined on this Christmas Eve night by my favorite brother, James. As you may remember, last Christmas Eve, James and I reviewed the Rankin Bass Christmas classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer as well Rankin Bass's Frosty the Snowman on this channel. This year, we're going to be revealing each of our five favorite Christmas songs to you. We have the same number one but otherwise have no duplicates between us. James, you go first.

"Coming in for me at number five, " said James in an upbeat voice, "Is Rockin Around the Christmas Tree."

"A very upbeat song, " observed Lily.

"Yes, " I love how upbeat that song is. It's a great to dance to or sing along with and captures the idea of a cheerful upbeat Christmas excellently.

"My fifth favorite Christmas song is O Christmas Tree, " said Lily in a quieter voice.

"I see O Christmas Tree as a happy song but in a much quieter way, " said James softly.

"That's what I like about it, " said Lily lightly, "It reflects a happy Christmas in a peaceful, quiet, and relaxed way."

"Up next for me in the number four spot is Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, " said James contently.

"Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire is a very warm song with great imagery, " said Lily approvingly,

"Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire really captures the warmth of the Christmas season beautifully, " said James happily, "I feel warmth on my insides when I hear Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire."

"I know, right?" agreed Lily, "However my pick at number four is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

""Another quieter Christmas song, " said James matter of factly.

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is a song that can be seen as happy or sad, " said Lily briskly, "For me it's a happy song, but in a quiet reflective way.

"My bronze medal of Christmas songs goes to It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, " said James excitedly,"

"Definitely an upbeat song, " piped up Lily.

"Very, " said James cheerfully, "And to me a song that really captures the essence of Christmas."

"I'll give my bronze medal of Christmas songs to White Christmas, " said Lily crisply.

"White Christmases really are pretty awesome when you get them, " piped up James, "There's a certain magic to having a White Christmas that's hard to explain."

"That's exactly why White Christmas is in my top three favorite Christmas songs, White Christmases are one of the true beauties of nature."

"My silver medal for Christmas songs goes to another song that I feel captures the essence of Christmas and that is Silver Bells, " said James joyfully.

'How fitting that Silver Bells would win a silver medal!" grinned Lily.

"One thing I like about both It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas and Silver Bells is that both represent that Christmas has a season and not just a day, "beamed James.

In fact, " said Lily with a kind smile, "The very last line of Silver Bells is "Soon it will be Christmas Day."

"Christmas isn't just about the day itself, the leadup to it and the looking forward to it are a big thing as well, " said James glowingly.

"While Silver Bells getting a silver medal is fitting, " said Lily brightly, "I hereby award my silver medal for Christmas songs to There is No Christmas Like a Home Christmas." Christmas is about home and family and you feel that in There is No Christmas Like a Home Christmas."

"As someone who likes songs like that, " inquired James, "Do you like Oh There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays?"

"I do, " replied Lily, "But I don't accept it as a Christmas song. The lyrics could just as easily apply to Thanksgiving."

"That's true, " said James matter of factly.

"Now, " said Lily eagerly, "James and I TOTALLY agree on which Christmas song is the gold medalist of Christmas songs. It's cheerful, it's upbeat, and it's fun to sing. James, why don't you sing along with me?"

Next nanosecond, James and Lily burst into song in upbeat and cheery voices.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh, ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

(Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year)

Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh, ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

When they had finished the song, Lily piped up, "Thank you again to all of my wonderful viewers. We'll see you next time on Lily Luna's World. Potters out."

And James and Lily finished it off by both waving at the camera and chorusing "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."
