On Saturday, September 19th, 2020, James, Albus, and Lily were all in the Room of Requirement, which Albus had turned into a game room.

There were two player podiums and a host podium. There was also a game board that looked like a slot machine with a lever on the left hand side and three columns of cards.

"So, " Albus explained to James and Lily, "I called you two here today to have a friendly competition between yourselves that I will act as host of. So, the game board has cards that represent categories as well as jokers. You will take turns spinning the game board. Each time you spin, you get either the same category three times, one category twice and one category once, or three separate categories. Or you draw may include a joker or two or three. If no jokers appear, you must choose one of the categories on the board. With one or two jokers, you can make a double or triple with a category on the board or go off the board. A correct answer on a single is worth fifty points, a correct answer on a double is worth one hundred points, and a correct answer on a triple is worth one hundred and fifty points. If at any point during the game either player spins three jokers, he or she wins the game automatically. Otherwise, the first player to reach five hundred points wins the game and will win five hundred galleons from me. Our categories today are, The NFL, The Chronicles of Narnia, Holidays, Candy, and Colors. James, you spin first!"

James pulled the lever, and the board came up The NFL, Candy, and Joker.

"So, James, " said Albus matter of factly, "Do want to make a double with Candy or The NFL or go off the board.

"Let's make a double with candy, " said James confidently.

"What candy company makes the Old Faithful Bar?" Albus asked James.

"The Idaho Candy Company!" answered James instantly.

"The Idaho candy Company is correct, " said Albus cheerfully, "James you have one hundred points. Lily, your turn."

Lily pulled the lever, and the cards came up The NFL, Holidays, and The Chronicles of Narnia.

"No opportunity for a double or triple, " said Albus in a businesslike voice, "Lily, do you want to try THE NFL, Holidays, or the Chronicles of Narnia?"

"The Chronicles of Narnia, " responded Lily brightly.

"In the Silver Chair, what is the name of the school that Eustace and Jill attend?" Albus asked Lily.

"Experiment House!" answered Lily at once.

" Experiment House is correct, " said Albus professionally, "James, you lead one hundred to fifty and it's your turn to spin."

James pulled the lever excitedly and the cards came The NFL, The NFL, and Joker.

"Let's make that triple with the NFL!" piped up James without being asked.

"Who was the first wide receiver to reach the milestone of one hundred career receiving touchdowns?" Albus asked James.

"Steve Largent, " cried James ecstatically.

"You're a confident player, James, " grinned Albus, "Steve Largent it is, and you lead two hundred and fifty to fifty. Lily your turn."

Lily pulled the lever and spun color, holidays, and candy.

"Holidays, " requested Lily.

"What is the earliest possible date that Thanksgiving can fall on?" Albus asked Lily.

"November 22nd, " answered Lily, "Since Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday of November."

"November 22nd is right, Lily, " said Albus happily, "But James still leads two hundred and fifty to one hundred and has his turn."

James pulled the lever, and the board came up Colors, Colors, Colors.

"No choice here, " said Albus bluntly, "What is the prominent color of the set of the Price is Right game Grand Game?"

"Green, " offered up James glowingly, "I lead four hundred to one hundred now!"

"Sure, of ourselves, are we James?" smirked Albus, "Green is in fact the proper answer and you do lead four hundred to one hundred. Lily, you've got some catching up to do."

Lily pulled the lever and drew The NFL, Colors, and The Chronicles of Narnia.

"Well, let's do Narnia, " said Lily simply.

"In the Magician's Nephew, what was the cabby's horse's name before Aslan made him Fledge.

"Strawberry, " remembered Lily.

"Strawberry indeed, " replied Albus, James, you still lead four hundred to one hundred and fifty.

James pulled the lever and this time it came up three Jokers.

"I WON!" said James radiantly, "It was my day today!"

"Congratulations, James, " smiled Albus, pulling five hundred galleons out of his left pocket and dumping them into James's hands.

"Lady luck was certainly my queen today, " admitted James.

"Indeed, " agreed Albus, "Knowledge was king for both of you but you definitely had better luck with the board than Lily did."

"It's okay, " said Lily acceptingly, "James won fair and square by the rules of the game. It wasn't meant to be my day and I can accept that."

Turning more serious, James said, "I did win fair and square, but there's no reason for me to be a jerk about it and even less reason for me to be greedy. We each answered the same number of questions and we both answered them all correctly. Therefore, I feel it fair that-"

Next nanosecond, James dumped two hundred galleons of the prize money into Lily's hands.

And with that, brother and sister just smiled at each other.
