It was Thursday, July 4th, 2019, and the Potters had just gotten home from fireworks display when Lily asked James to come up to her room.

"Hey, James?" asked Lily, "Would you like to trade stickers with me tonight?"

"I'd love to!" answered James.

Looking over at Lily's bed. James saw both his own sticker book with its scarlet cover and Lily's sticker book with it's hot pink cover.

"You knew I'd be up to this tonight!" grinned James.

"Yep, " said Lily glowingly, "I'll let you make the first suggestion."

"I'm missing a BB8 sticker for my Star Wars set, " piped up James, 'Do you have duplicates of that one?"

"I do, " said Lily happily, "I'm missing a C3P0 sticker for my Star Wars set. Do you have duplicates of that one?"

"I do, " said James eagerly.

Both James and Lily opened their sticker books to their Star Wars collections.

James found and pulled out a duplicate C3PO sticker from his collection and Lily found and pulled out a duplicate BB8 sticker from her collection and they made the swap.

"Nice start, " said Lily cheerfully, "So, I have an extra polar bear sticker bear in my animal collection. What would you like to offer me for it?"

"How about an elephant?" offered James.

Lily's eyes lit up.

"You on, James!" cried Lily.

Both James and Lily turned their sticker books to their animal collections and James traded his extra elephant to Lily for her extra polar bear as both wore wide smiles.

"YES!" James and Lily both cried out at the same time.

"This is what trading is supposed to be, " said James in a satisfied voice, "Both parties benefit. I'm searching for a Beater's bat sticker for my Quidditch collection."

"I'm searching for a golden snitch sticker for mine, " replied Lily.

James and Lily found the Quidditch section of their sticker books and made the exchange.

"James, " inquired Lily, "Are you in need of lightning strike sticker for your weather collection?"

"I sure am," said James Hopefully, "Would you be in need of a Vermont fall foliage sticker for your weather collection?"

"Indeed, " smiled Lily, "This is really working out for both of us."

"I know, right?" said James briskly as he and Lily went to the weather section of their sticker books and made the switch.

"My NFL collection is missing a Raiders sticker," James informed Lily.

"Mine is missing a Bills sticker, " responded Lily.

So, James and Lily flipped to the NFL section of their sticker books and James handed a Bills sticker off to Lily and Lily handed a Raiders sticker off to James.

"Very well, " said Lily in a satisfied voice, "James, does your holiday collection yet include a Fourth of July fireworks sticker?"

"I'm afraid not, " admitted James, "Does yours yet include Easter eggs?"

"Negative, " confirmed Lily.

James and Lily zoomed to the holiday section of their sticker collection and James bartered his additional Easter egg sticker for Lily's additional Fourth of July fireworks sticker.

"So, " said James with warm anticipation in his voice, "The thing I'm most searching for is an Aslan sticker for my Narnia collection."

"I only have one of those, " said Lily matter of factly, "But I tell you what James, I'll still trade with you here because I know how much you want that particular sticker. Do you have any extra stickers of the pools in the Wood Between the Worlds?"

"I only have one of those, " acknowledged James, "But I'll willing to trade it to get the Aslan sticker."

"I tell you what James, " I'll give you the Aslan sticker without having to give up anything for now. But, as soon as you get a second Woods Between the Worlds sticker, then could you give it to me then?"

"It's a deal, " said James gratefully, "And as soon as I get a second Aslan sticker, I'll give it to you. This way we both get the sticker we cherish more sooner but get both in the long run."

"Exactly, " said Lily in a satisfied voice, "I think that's a nice way to end it."

"Before I go to bed, " James told Lily, "I have an early Christmas present for you."

Lily smiled.

James retrieved his wand from his right hand pocket with his right hand and raised it.

"Flowericus, " cried James.

Next nanosecond, aa beautiful bouquet of lilies shot out of the end of James's wand and he handed then to Lily.

Lily smiled at James. This gift was a nice way to end the night.
