BOO! Welcome to October everybody! Here's a Halloween themed chapter to start off October!
On Sunday October 24th, 2021, at 1 P.M. Hogwarts time, James and Lily were in Lily's room recording a new video.
"Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Lily Luna's World. I am joined once again today by my favorite brother, James Sirius Potter. James, we have an exciting video topic today, do we not?" Lily began the video.
"We absolutely do have an exciting video, " said James eagerly and coming across as a bit hyper, "Today we are going to be talking about our favorite Halloween costumes!"
"The way we're going to approach this," added Lily, "Is that each of us are going to do an Olympic style ranking of bronze, silver, and gold for our third favorite, second favorite, and favorite Halloween costume s. James, you go first."
"I'll preface this by saying that both of our favorite Halloween costumes are things that are associated with Halloween and not just genetic things like airplanes or pop culture icons like Darth Vader. So, my bronze medal Halloween costume is skull and crossbones. Halloween is heavily associated with death and the dead and the skull and crossbones has long been a symbol of death. Plus, I love the creepy vibes that ooze from wearing a skull and crossbones Halloween costume," exclaimed James.
"That's a good one, James," said Lily appreciatively, "And going along with the death theme, my bronze medal Halloween costume is the tombstone. This is my go to Halloween costume for the creepy vibe. It's a very Halloweeny feeling to walk around in a tombstone Halloween costume. Seeing w walking tombstone would give anyone the creeps. Tombstone Halloween costume s literally give off that aura of the walking dead. So, what takes silver for you, James?"
"My silver medal Halloween costume is the bat," said James briskly, "Halloween is heavily associated with darkness. You know, the growing darkness as the days are getting shorter and bats are nocturnal beasts that represent darkness. Bats are almost most commonly seen in fall months as swarm around dusk to gather food ahead of their winter hibernation. Plus, bats are black and other than orange, black is the color most commonly associated with Halloween."
"That makes a lot of sense," interjected Lily, "Although I think purple is an underrated Halloween color given it's a color often connected to magic and the supernatural, though orange and black are clearly one and two. My own silver medal Halloween costume is the spider. Spiders have historically been connected with witches. You could argue that black cats have historically been even more connected to witches, but I would find a cat a boring Halloween costume."
"A cat would be a "meh" Halloween costume for Halloween because cats don't really give off any creepy vibes to the modern public," piped up James, "On the other hand, plenty of modern people are freaked out by spiders."
"I love wearing my spider Halloween costume in front of people that I know are terrified of spiders," giggled Lily, "It's so fun and satisfying to see the utter terror upon their faces."
"Well," declared James, "I believe we agreed to reveal our gold medal Halloween costume s by appearing on screen."
"We did," cooed Lily, "Since we have the same gold medal Halloween costume."
Next nanosecond, James and Lily simultaneously shouted BOO! at the top of their lungs and glided across the room to make themselves visible.
"Ghosts are the perfect Halloween costume," said Lily adoringly.
"Yeah," agreed James, "It's fun to wear ghost Halloween costume s together and go around scaring family and friends shouting 'BOO!" from behind and them appearing from behind.
"James and I like to scare each other by shouting "BOO!" from behind each other on occasions. Though we do this sparingly enough and randomly enough for it to be effective."
A minute and a nanosecond later, James retrieved his wand from his right hand pocket with his right hand and pointed the wand at the ceiling.
"Tuneify," cried James and Frankenstein music suddenly filled the room."
As this music revved up, Lily spoke in the creepiest voice she could, "It was a very scary experience seeing you all here today. We'll see you all next time on Lily Luna's World. For now, Potters out."
And James and Lily yelled the loudest possible BOO! they could together and had the camera zoom in on a piece of black construction paper Lily had taped to her wall. Viewers saw a minute and a nanosecond of nothing but black before the video ended abruptly.
A shout out to the following members who have added James, Lily, and Brother-Sister Fluff to their favorites and/or follows lists since the last update:
