On Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at 1 P.M. Hogwarts time, James and Lily were in Lily's room to record another video for Lily Luna's World.

"Hello, all," greeted Lily cheerfully as the recording began, "My name is Lily Luna Potter and welcome back to Lily Luna's World. I am once again joined by my favorite brother James Sirius Potter and today we are going to be reviewing the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

James held up the book for the viewers to see the front cover.

This cover had a huge prominence of blue and depicted Harry holding a wand surrounded by dimly lit candles.

"So," said Lily happily, "I have to say that the writing quality of Order of the Phoenix is a massive improvement of that of Goblet of Fire."

"Hard Agree," piped up James, "The writing in Order of the Phoenix felt like it flowed a lot more naturally as compared to Goblet of Fire."

"Order of the Phoenix is obviously a very political story," observed Lily, "You have Fudge bungling everything and running a smear campaign against dad via the Daily Prophet because he cared more about his own political image and standing than about trying to do the right thing and then you have Umbitch trying to take over everything at Hogwarts."

"Umbitch is probably the most hated character in the Harry Potter fandom," snarled James, "And she's deserving of the hate that she gets. But I want to talk more about Fudge. I don't think there's much we can add to the Umbitch discussion as her evilness has been picked apart time and time again. But people seriously underestimate had bad Fudge was. He's seen as an idiot. I say he should be seen as a Villain. "

"He was definitely a selfish prick," spat Lily, "He threw dad under the bus to take the heat off himself."

"In addition to the smear campaign, he actively wanted dad to be expelled from Hogwarts and was genuinely disappointed when Harry was acquitted at his trial," continued James, "But what people don't appreciate or even realize enough is that Fudge is literally responsible for loads of death and destruction. His refusal to confront the issue of Lord Voldemort's return when it first happened allowed Voldemort to get a much stronger foothold. Had he taken steps to protect the Wizarding World in the immediate aftermath of Lord Voldemort's return, and had he worked against Voldemort from the night of the Third Task, Voldemort wouldn't have gotten such a strong foothold, and a lot of death and destruction could have been prevented."

"Ironically, "mused Lily, "Fudge actually destroyed his own political career through his own desperation to protect it. When it became obvious after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries that Lord Voldemort was really back. Fudge was forced out of office. Had Fudge attacked the Voldemort situation right away, he'd have felt some heat from those who didn't believe in Voldemort's return, but in the long run he could have gone down as a hero."

"Dad has never forgiven Fudge," said James clearly, "I think dad believes that Sirius might not have died if Fudge had been his job properly."

"That's a fair thing to believe," agreed Lily, "If Fudge takes Voldemort seriously from the onset, then the truth about Sirius's innocence might have come out and things might have played out totally differently. With regard to Sirius though, I think Dumbledore and Snape bear the majority of the responsibly for his death that isn't with Bellatrix herself."

"True," nodded James, "Dumbledore never warned dad about the possibility of Voldemort using fake visions to lure him to the Department of Mysteries even though he knew it was likely. He also never explained to dad why Occlumency was so important and thus failed to provide dad with proper motivation to learn Occlumency. Snape, meanwhile, never make a proper effort to teach dad Occlumency."

"I wish dad was just as unforgiving of Snape and Dumbledore as he is of Fudge and Umbitch," spoke Lily in a steely voice, "Our brother having the name he does is hot garbage."

"Especially Snape," added James, "Since Snape is literally largely responsible for dad being an orphan in the first place."

"Speaking of unsavory characters," said Lily bitterly, "Fuck Marietta Edgecombe. She is the worst student character in all of Harry Potter. I don't know if she was a bully, but traitors are far worse than bullies and Marietta Edgecombe is a traitor."

"People seriously underestimate just of a betrayal that was," fretted James, "Had they not all managed to get away and had Kingsley not been able to modify the fucking turncoat's memory, the D.A. members could have all been expelled and had their wands snapped at an early age."

This is also why I despise Cho Chang," interjected Lily, "Anyone who can refer to that Edgecombe backstabber as a lovely person is someone I can never see eye to eye with. Thank goodness Charry didn't last."

"Charry had no compatibility anyway," added James, "If a friendship between dad and mom had been developed in Goblet of Fire, then the scene in Order of the Phoenix where mom reassures dad around Christmastime that he's not being possessed would have been the perfect time to make Hinny a thing. Rowling was a book too late on both steps. They should have had a budding friendship in Goblet of Fire and become a couple in Order of the Phoenix. Instead, we saw a budding friendship in Order of the Phoenix, and they became a couple in Half Blood Prince."

"Speaking of the technical writing aspects," said Lily calmly, "I think the whole Grawp subplot could've gotten the boot. It was neither that interesting nor that relevant."

"Grawp could've easily been edited out," nodded James, "What should have edited, as in changed, is the prefect choices. Ron, Pansy, and DRACO being prefects was about as bad a threesome of prefect choices as you could make."

"All three are bullies in their own ways," mused Lily, "But Draco Malfoy is the WOAT prefect choice."

"WOAT?" said James blankly.

"Worst of All Time," said Lily firmly.

"I don't enough about the Slytherins of dad's year to know who better choices would have been," explained James, "But Pansy and fucking DRACO were the WRONG choices, plain and simple. As for Ron, Neville should have gotten that prefect spot."

"For those wondering whether dad should have been prefect, the answer is no," put forth Lily, "He'd have a hell of time being swarmed by fanboys and fangirls like that Vane bitch. Given the tremendous character growth we see from Neville in Order of the Phoenix through the D.A. and the Battle of the Department of mysteries, making him a prefect would have great literary foreshadowing."

"What about the new characters?" James asked Lily, "My favorite is Tonks because the changing hair colors thing is just so cool!"

"Dad gave me the middle name of Luna after Luna Lovegood. She is my favorite new character from Order of the Phoenix and proved herself a true friend to dad. I find her ability to comfort Harry after Sirius dies when no one else can. to be very poignant," replied Lily, "Luna and dad could feel a kinship because they both had experiences with the loss of a close loved one. Not only can they both see thestrals, but both heard those voices."

"I love how Luna is comfortable in her own skin," said James warmly, "Other people bully and make fun of her, but she stays true to herself and doesn't change for others. Her walking barefoot in the Forbidden Forest like it was nothing is classic Luna."

"I think we'll save discussion of O.W.L. s until our Half Blood Prince review when we talk about the results," said Lily reasonably."

"Agreed," said James, "What about the prophecy?"

"It felt anticlimactic because the fundamental core of the series was already set up as Harry Potter versus Lord Voldemort," admitted Lily.

"How did you feel about Sirius's death?" inquired James.

"Reading about it hit me pretty hard, and I know the same is true for you because of who we are," piped up Lily, "But, I suspect many rank and file readers didn't have much of a reaction to this death. I know marauder fandom is a thing, but let's be honest, Sirius was barely a character, appearing infrequently and acting more as a pen pal. I feel like this series would have taken on a much darker and sadder undercurrent if it had been Hermione that had died at the Battle of the Department of Mysteries rather than Sirius."

"Dad's guilt would have been magnified by a thousand had it been Hermione instead of Sirius who had died," reasoned James, "Especially since Hermione is the one who tried to talk him out of it. With Sirius, dad somewhat passed the blame off on Snape. Had it been Hermione, he'd never have lived down Hermione's warnings against going on that mission to begin with."

"I think we'll end it here," Lily told James.

"Yeah, I know we've left some stuff out, like Percy abandoning his family, but well, it's a looooooooooooong book."

"We certainly can't cover everything for a book this long," acknowledging Lily, "But what rating do you give Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as a book and a story."

"This is where we have to keep in perspective that terrible people can be great characters," James reminded Lily, "Umbitch is a horrible person, but she's a great character. The fact the she is so universally hated speaks to how well she's written as a villain."

"That's true," agreed Lily, "And sad stories don't mean bad writing either. Heartbreak from the reader can be a symptom of masterfully crafted writing. Overall, what do you think?"

"Eight out of ten," supplied James, "The writing is tighter and the story more engaging than Goblet of Fire. The weak points were the unnecessary and boring Grawp subplot and the annoying Charry garbage. Overall, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a very well-crafted story that reads naturally and engrosses the reader. "

"Seven out of ten for me," put forth Lily, "It's a massive improvement over Goblet of Fire and any book that introduces Luna Lovegood has something going for it. But it's still too long and you hit the nail on the head aboiut Grawp and Charry."

"That's all we have," said James matter of factly, "But be on the lookout for our video review of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince."

"We'll see you next time on Lily Luna's world," cooed Lily, "Until then, Potters out."

And James and Lily both waved to their viewers as the video ended.
