Chapter 8

The Tinkatink used her anger as motivation to create her 17th hammer of the day. After finishing it, she raised her hammer up to the sky in triumph after creating it once again with a big grin, knowing full well that she'd use the hammer to whack the massive Klawf that broke it.

Suddenly, The Tinkatink saw a looming huge shadow coming from behind her, she spun around and saw the gigantic Klawf that broke her hammer fly right over her head and land with a massive thud in front of her. The earth shook, and Tinkatink's entire body flew into the air because of the impact. Then, after smoke cleared, The Klawf groaned as it remained on the ground flat on its back.

Without hesitation, Tinkatink raised her hammer and started charging after the downed Klawf with a battle cry that sounded like a very angry squeak-toy noise.

"There it is," Kai said, approaching the Klawf. Quaxly was still bruised and dirtied from their previous fight. Kai hadn't healed Quaxly on purpose, because he knew that if his duck Pokémon was low on energy, his water attacks would be empowered. That piece of knowledge was a fruit of studying very hard in classes.

His eyebrows raised once he saw a Tinkatink raging and whacking the downed Klawf, whose legs were twitching. The Tinkatink wasn't doing much damage.

"Is that… a tinkatink?" Kai said. "Hey! You're in danger! That thing's real strong, it'll squash you! Get out of there!"

Tinkatink kept at it, ignoring the trainer's warning. Suddenly, the titan pokemon began to move again.

"Ugh..! Quaxly, stay here!" Kai dashed in as Quaxly leapt from his shoulder.

The gigantic crab pokemon began slowly lifting itself up from its back. Tinkatink kept whacking away despite this. Kai closed in, grabbed the Tinkatink and held it close to his chest before leaping away from the Klawf who went back to its feet with a massive thud.

"Jeez..! That was close..!" Kai said.

Tinkatink raised her hammer angrily and waved it, trying to break free from Kai's arms.

"Jeez, you're angry. What'd it do to you?"

Klawf sped over to the trio and roared loudly.

"We're in trouble," Kai said. "But we've got the numbers advantage… Hey, Tinkatink, you're angry at that thing, right? Why don't we work together?"

Kai went into his pocket on his armored leggings and pulled out a Tera Orb. He closed his eyes as he began to think. Should he destroy it and fuse with Quaxly, or just Terrastialize Quaxly?

Klawf roared and swung his massive claw at his three opponents- Kai kept Tinkatink close as he and Quaxly leapt away.

"That thing's fast and tough…! But we've got the numbers advantage… If i fused, then i'd take damage for real.. if i got hit once i'd be done for..! So- let's keep it that way and make it three on one!" Kai and Quaxly landed on the ground the moment Kai finished his thought, took a look at his Tera orb, then threw it straight at Quaxly.

The Terastialization sigil appeared in front of Quaxly before crystals erupted from the ground below him and shattered, revealing Quaxly's transformed state. He had a crystalic-like aura around him that made him shine like a diamond, and donned a hat that looked like a sprinkler spewing water out. Quaxly let out a battle cry as sparkles exploded from his body like fireworks.

"Let's go!" Kai said. "Aqua jet, together!"

Both Kai and Quaxly went to the skies like superheroes. While in mid flight, Tinkatink protested and shook about, angrily waving her hammer all the while. She managed to slip from Kai's grip and jump toward Klawf, who looked up at his enemies. "Darn it..!" Kai muttered to himself. "Quaxly, close in on Klawf and keep him busy while I get Tinkatink!" Both Pokemon and trainer shared a nod before diving together toward the ground. Kai managed to reach Tinkatink and grab her, making a U-turn as Quaxly continued diving like a comet foot-first. The pokemon's attack finally struck Klawf on the back- water exploded outward like someone had made a big splash. Klawf roared in pain as Quaxly flipped from his back and landed with a crouch in front of the Titan Pokemon. The water type flicked his toothpaste-like hair with his wing.

Klawf roared and swung its claw at the water type, who leapt high into the air and watched the earth shatter beneath his enemy's claw. Instinct carried its decision to fire a water gun directly at him.

Meanwhile, Tinkatink started struggling to break free from Kai's grasp all over again. "I can't let you get hurt…!" Kai groaned. "He's too big for y-"

Tinkatink's hammer shined bright with dark-type energy as it used the move Brutal Swing directly on Kai's face. The attack slammed into Kai's face and sent him flying.

All of that damage instantly transferred to Quaxly, whose body shook before he fell on his back, as though something had struck his head. The water gun that was traveling over to Klawf fell onto the floor.

Klawf looked down at the weakened Quaxly, who shuddered as Klawf raised his large claw ready to crush him.

"TIIINKAAAA!"

Klawf looked up- seeing the same Tinkatink he ran over plummeting toward him with a hammer charged with ice-type energy. Not willing to get bonked in the head twice, Klawf raised his claw and blocked the oncoming attack with it, causing Tinkatink to flip away after clashing with the Titan.

Kai looked down as he was plummeting to the ground.

"I know for certain Quaxly felt that…! He's gonna faint any second- I'd better deactivate my invoker..!" Kai pressed the invoker sigil on his chest, and widened his eyes in realization. "Oh- crap, I'm still falling! AAAAHHHH!"

Kai crashed onto the ground with so much force that left a tiny crater behind. Once the dust cleared around him, he groaned, as he was immediately covered in dirt and bruises. "Ow..!" Kai slowly stood up, and then started running directly at Tinkatink and Klawf having a stare-down.

Tinkatink glared furiously as Kai approached her from behind. Kai then turned his head to see Quaxly on the ground unconscious. Quickly whipping his starter's pokeball, and pointing it his way, Kai debated returning Quaxly into his pokeball so he wouldn't get hurt.

That's when he realized something.

Quaxly's hat from terrastialization hadn't disappeared. That meant one thing: Quaxly was still conscious.

A sudden smile came to Kai's face.

"Hey, Tinkatink, You and I both want to beat the snot out of that thing, right? We can do it together! All you have to do is listen to my orders, and we'll beat that thing for sure..!"

Tinkatink nodded.

"Hey, you!" Kai roared. "Yeah, you! What's wrong? Can't swat us away?! We're so much smaller than you, yet we're still kicking your butt!"

Klawf roared loudly at the two. Kai shielded himself by crossing his arms in front of him as its terrible roar sent a strong wind against him.

"Yeah, that's right," Kai muttered while grinning widely. "Focus on us, and not on Quaxly..!"

Klawf roared and swung his claw at Kai and Tinkatink.

"Tinkatink, jump out of the way!" Said Kai as he leapt to the ground to have Klawf's claw swing right over his body. Klawf looked up to see Tinkatink high into the air.

"Tinkatink!" Kai cried as he flipped back onto his feet and ran toward Quaxly. Kai then quickly turned his head up as Klawf leapt high into the air to chase Tinkatink. "He's going to get you!" Use Flash cannon to deflect his attack, now!" He commanded.

Tinkatink roared as the metal stone on her stomach shined, and a orb of steel type energy formed and flew after Klawf as he swung his arm.

Kai went to his hands and knees and started shaking Quaxly. "C'mon, buddy, I know you can still move! C'mon..!"

Quaxly groaned and slowly opened his eyes. "Yes! Atta boy! That's my Quaxly!"

Meanwhile, Tinkatink was sent flying from Klawf's tackle, and fell onto the ground. The Pokemon looked rather beat up and could barely stand as Klawf landed right in front of it with a mighty crash. Tinkatink slowly looked up at Klawf as he opened his mouth. Energy began gathering in front of it. The fairy-steel type's eyes widened in sheer terror, for she knew that this attack this Pokemon was preparing was a Hyper beam.

The Klawf fired his hyper beam- and for a moment, time felt like it slowed down for the little fairy type as the blast approached.

An explosion rang out, dust flew from the air like a bomb had struck the area. Winds blasted against the Klawf as the explosion radiated violently in the air. The earth trembled, rocks flew, everything was in disarray in the blast.

As the dust finally cleared… Klawf's eyes widened in shock. And so had Tinkatink's.

Kai and Quaxly were standing right in front of Tinkatink with their arms extended at the Titan. A round barrier had formed in front of the trainer and Pokémon.

"It's a good thing Quaxly can use Protect, isn't it?" Kai said, grinning the cockiest grin one could imagine. As Klawf's look of surprise left him, he tried to move. He couldn't. He was completely spent, he had to rest for at least a little bit before he could move after firing an attack like that.

Kai and Quaxly slowly walked over to the exhausted Klawf.

"So, remember that time when you hurt my friend?" Kai grinned as he finally went face to face with the Titan Pokemon and then, suddenly, rested his arm on Klawf's massive claw. "See, I don't forgive easy, but I can still forgive. I forgive you, Klawf. Buuut- Quaxly on the other hand.." Kai pointed over to Quaxly, who had a water-type aura radiating about his body. "You beat my friend there to a pulp one too many times, and Quaxly's just itching to get revenge. You see, that ability of his, the one that boosts his water-type moves when he's in a pinch is definitely in effect right now. In other words,This one's gonna hurt, buddy." Kai patted his enemy's claw. "Good luck," He said before walking over to Quaxly.

"Quaxly?" Kai said, pointing his thumb over his own shoulder. "Do it to em'."

Quaxly roared and blasted a water gun that nearly matched the power of a Hydro pump, and Klawf could do nothing but watch it hit him directly, and send him flying. The Titan pokemon crash-landed on his back, and the earth trembled.

It was finally defeated.

Kai dusted his hands off. "Get wrecked," Kai said. He put his hands on his hips and approached Tinkatink, who struggled to stand up. Kai went to his knees and helped Tinkatink up.

"There ya go, little fella-"

Tinkatink shot a glare.

"Oh- I mean, little uh, miss. There ya go. Miss."

Tinkatink nodded and stood up.

"So, Tinkatink," Kai said. "You and I really did work well together. Whuddya say that we-"

Tinkatink stood up and walked toward Klawf with an angry expression.

"He- Hey- Tinkatink," Kai said, extending his arm over to Tinkatink who raised her hammer. "Tinkatink, he's already down, he's had enough-"

"TIIINKAAAA!"

Tinkatink screamed and charged Klawf.

Acting fast, Kai whipped a Pokeball out and threw it at the agitated Fairy-steel type before it could reach Klawf. The pokeball rolled once.

Twice…

Three times…

It stopped, and then made an affirmation sound that Tinkatink had been caught.

Kai sighed with relief. He went over to his newly caught Tinkatink's ball and picked it up, looking over to Quaxly.

"Y'know, you and I didn't do half bad," Kai said. He gave a thumbs up to his Water type starter, and Quaxly did the same. "Now, let's go find the others."

"Well…" Arven said, scratching his head as he stood next to Aeon, waiting in front of a Poke center for Kai to arrive. "I think it's about time we start looking for the guy, don't you think?"

Aeon sighed.

"What's wrong?" Arven said. "Are you okay?"

"I'm… I'm okay." Aeon said, clutching the arm he had used to strike Klawf. There was anxiety behind his eyes. "I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," He said.

Silence.

"You know," Arven said. "Now that I can have an actual conversation with you, I've been meaning to ask. How did you meet my parents?"

Aeon's eyes widened. He then narrowed them and stared at the floor.

"I don't know," He said.

"Whuddya mean, you don't know?"

"I mean, I don't know."

"You're talking as though you lost your memory or somethin-" Arven's eyes widened. "Ohh- you did lose your memories, didn't you."

Aeon nodded.

"Ugh," Arven crossed his arms and scratched his head. "Why is it that those guys have the time to find and adopt a kid with amnesia and send them to me when they can barely take care of one son…?" He muttered.

"I'm sorry? I didn't hear you," Aeon said.

"Nothing." Arven said. "Do you have any idea why my parents told you to find me?"

Aeon shook his head.

"Do you remember anything that they said? Anything at all?"

Aeon shook his head again.

"Why're you giving me the silent treatment again? Ugh- you're starting to annoy me, you know!" Arven said, baring his teeth in rage. Then, he lowered his head and sighed in defeat. "Well, at least you're talking. One step at a time. I also want to make one thing clear," Arven said, crossing his arms. "I only agreed to take you in because I felt sorry for you, okay? I didn't want a kid without parents or guardians running around by themselves..." Arven sighed a very deep sigh. "So yeah," he continued. "I'll do my best to teach you what I know, how to cook, or whatever. Just let me know whenever you're hungry or somethi-" Arven's eyes widened. "Wait, you did eat something, didn't you?"

"I ate something with Nemona," Aeon said quickly.

"Pfft- and she didn't think to share any food with us? I'm willing to bet she bought food for all of us, then ate almost all the servings. If she's doing invoker battles every day, I'm betting she has a huge appetite."

Aeon nodded.

"I hope that water gun Quaxly used on that crazy girl really did send her all the way to the moon." Arven turned to Aeon as though he were expecting something from him.

"Y'know, this is when you say, 'Deserved'," Arven said.

"Did you like it when I said, 'deserved'? Would you like me to-" Aeon said.

"No, dimwit! You're not a robot! You're a person! You have a personality; I know you do. Just show it, already!" Arven pointed at Aeon's face. "Stop being all quiet all the time! Are you shy or something? Stop being shy!" After a bit, Arven pulled his arm away and scratched the back of his head. "Uh, actually, in hindsight, I think that was a little harsh. You have to warm up to me a bit more, right? Sorry about lashi-"

"I hope the food you make is as good as your insult game," Aeon said.

"What?!" Arven cried. "Why you..! You little punk-!"

Arven saw that Aeon was smiling, and Arven suddenly chuckled and smiled back.

He crossed his arms. "Well, just you wait, kid. You'll have the very best sandwich you've ever tasted in your life! You'll see."

Aeon nodded. "I'll be looking forward to it." He said.

"Heeeeeeey!"

Kai came running toward the two boys, and Aeon shot a glare at him.

"Good- you're back," Aeon said, nodding quickly. "Now, let's regroup and fight that Klawf-"

"You mean the Klawf I beat?" Kai said.

Aeon's eyes widened. "What?" He said. "What do you mean- beat?"

"B-E-A-T. Beat. I spelled it out for ya."

"That's impossible- Arven and you-"

"ThAt'S ImPoSSiBle!" Kai mimicked Aeon's voice in a disrespectful way. "ArVeN- Yeah, no. Guess what. I'm not Arven, I'm BETTER!"

"I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that," Arven said.

"You- You do realize that it's hard to believe what you're saying, right?!" Aeon cried. "It's simply not possible- That Titan pokemon's powerlevel was far too great for the both of you to handle..!"

"All right, you can come with me so you can see that Klawf's unconscious body. It'll be funny to see your reaction!"

"You're lying to my face! You must have had help- there's no other way-"

"Daaang- That face full of emotion's so cute," Kai said. it's gonna be so much cuter when your jaw's on the ground once you realize I BEAT THE KLAWF."

"FINE! SHOW ME!" Aeon roared. "Then when I see that Klawf is still standing, I'll hit you on the head!"

"Oh yeah, sure, go ahead. If the Klawf's still standing, you'll have to kiss me!" Kai winked, and Aeon glared with rage.

"KISS YOU!? I AM NOT KISSING YOU!"

"On the cheek's fine, though I'd prefer the lips-"

"KAI!" Aeon roared.

Arven sighed and smiled.

"All right. Arven? Eye-candy? Let's get going! By the way, Aeon, I'll be waiting for my kiss," Kai winked and motioned for both him and Arven to follow.

Aeon glared furiously and followed.

Arven crossed his arms. "I have no idea how Kai's able to do it, but he can get Aeon to be more animated around him than I can…Huh."

"Arven, you coming!?" Kai cried.

"Yeah, coming!"
