On the day the Earth supposedly stood still, Kara was briefed by Brainiac 5 on a UFO approaching the planet. "Object 07/493 was first spotted just beyond Jupiter's orbit. Notably, it was not moving in an asteroidal ellipse but, rather, it had a hyperbolic orbit as it shot through the solar system," Brainiac 5 began.

"Already bored. Give me something sexy," Kara demanded.

"It was moving at three times ten to the seventh meters per second," Brainiac 5 said.

"Holy shit, that's fast," Kara said excitedly. "If that hits the planet, we're fucked."

"It was projected to pass millions of miles outside Earth's orbit," Brainiac 5 continued.

"Nice," Kara said relieved.

"However, I determined that the object was not following a gravitational freefall trajectory. As such, its path was recalculated," Brainiac 5 said, showing a hologram of the object impacting Earth.

"Oh, no," Kara said concernedly.

"It appears to be slowing down and deliberately landing as we would expect from an alien craft. The object is spherical, thirty meters in diameter," Brainiac 5 reported.

"Doesn't sound too threatening. Where is it going?" Kara asked.

"Metropolis," Brainiac 5 answered. "In seventy-four minutes."

"Good, I don't like to wait," Kara said pleased.

"The object is also made of black-star alloy, which I remind you, is sharp enough to cut even you."

"Damn, I'm feeling a roller coaster of emotions right now," Kara admitted. "I want the best scientists humanity has to offer on this case, drag them from their homes, separate them from their families, detain them if necessary."

"They won't be useful or necessary," Brainiac 5 downplayed.

"Do it anyway. I want all of humanity to stand still for this," Kara ordered.

As the object approached, Earth's defenses were on alert. "The object is not responding," Brainiac 5 informed Kara.

"Shoot it down. See what happens," Kara ordered.

On the planet, several city-sized structures contained missile batteries, laser canons, pulse canons, particle canons, gauss cannons, and plasma cannons. These structures were circular with the weaker more numerous defenses on the outer perimeter and the stronger defenses in the center. These defensive structures were shielded with energy domes. These defensive collections were present at various places on the planet to cover all possible enemy approaches. The structures facing the alien object were now activated and firing.

Kara and Brainiac 5 watched as Earth's defenses hit the object with enough firepower to sterilize a planet. The missiles went off course, the laser, pulse, particle, and plasma beams were deflected off some kind of magnetic field, and the Gauss cannon projectiles appeared to just be added to the structure's already existing mass. "The structure's magnetic field is too strong," Brainiac 5 reported.

"Are you saying that technology has failed us and the solution is just for me to hit it really really hard?" Kara asked incredulously.

"It's already landed in Metropolis Park," Brainiac 5 reported.

"Well...shit," Kara muttered.

In Metropolis Park, Brainiac 5 drone security forces quickly arrived on the scene while the city was evacuated. The glowing spherical object was surrounded by jeeps, tanks, and SAM systems. Helicopters and hoverjets also continually circled the object. Brainiac 5 drones approached the object with laser rifles. Drones took up sniper positions on all the nearby buildings. "I'm getting a lot of electromagnetic static," Brainiac 5 reported to Kara who stood off from afar.

"Yeah, same here," Kara said as her phone stopped working properly.

A ten-meter-tall humanoid robot covered in black-star alloy metal exited the sphere with an ominous glowing red eye. Suddenly, all the drones stopped functioning and collapsed on the scene. A high-pitched noise from the robot devasted Kara's super-hearing forcing her to cover her ears. The robot approached Kara as if to destroy her. It reached out to Kara but was suddenly stopped.

"Klaatu barada nikto," a voice from the sphere ordered.

The robot immediately withdrew its hand and went into sleep mode. The drones, vehicles, and other equipment suddenly started working again. A humanoid figure of average height then exited the sphere wearing black robes, a white cape, and scarf, and a sword on his belt. He had a pale complexion, black eyes, and hair, and appeared to be in his early twenties.

"What's your name, asshole?" Kara demanded of him.

"Identity is not but a swirling voice of misplaced labels and negligent assertations," he replied solemnly.

Kara fired a heat vision beam through his gut, dropping him. "Fucking smartass," she rolled her eyes. She then eyed the robot to see if he would do anything for a few moments, but it did nothing. "Well, okay then," she said surprised and then signaled for the human security personnel to take the alien away.

The alien was rushed to the basement level of Metropolis General for treatment. Human doctors scrambled to figure out what to do while Brainiac 5 and Kara stood by. The human doctors and medics searched for a vein in vain as the nano-machine magnetic suit continually covered up any skin they could reach. Upon going into cardiac arrest, one doctor tried to get him the paddles. He got tossed back by an electromagnetic pulse.

"Holy shit!" the doctor said as he was pushed back.

"His heart rate is stabilizing. What now?" a doctor asked Kara.

"I will take over surgery," Brainiac 5 said calmly and then motioned for the humans to leave the room.

In the surgery room, Brainiac 5 examined the patient with Kara watching. "Normally, I'd give the patient anesthesia but I am uncertain how the patient will react to it. Also, I'm not entirely certain he deserves it."

Brainiac 5 then cut into the alien's gut and started taking out the burnt tissue. "His physiology is very similar to Homo Sapien, Kryptonian, Jin-Saiyan, Titan, Naltorian...," he listed off.

"I get it, all aliens appear the same on the outside and inside despite supposedly evolving on independent systems over billions of years. Continue," Kara rolled her eyes.

"I'm extracting the dead tissue," Brainiac 5 said as he did.

"You know, I felt we were a little bit more prepared than last time. We still didn't take out the alien threat in orbit but progress was made," Kara said conversationally.

"Indeed," Brainiac 5 agreed.

"Kind of like Homeland Security after 9/11," Kara mused. "I tell you what, Barney. I'm going to be remembered as being even more successful than President George Dubya Bush."

"Low bar," Brainiac 5 remarked as he continued his surgery.

"Say what? You can't say that. He was president when I first came to Earth. He set the standard for me," Kara recalled.

"The new standard is God's Emperor Trump," Brainiac 5 said.

"That's right," Kara nodded. "But I helped get him elected. I did that," she said impressed with herself.

"I'm done here," Brainiac 5 said as he finished.

A few hours later, the alien started flailing his limbs in all directions like he was having some kind of panic attack. Kara watched amused while Brainiac 5 merely stood by. "He's looking at you. Try saying something to him," Brainiac 5 advised.

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help," Kara told him.

"Government...help," the alien said freaked out and continued to thrash a bit.

"Under normal circumstances, this would crash the market with irrational fear and uncertainty," Brainiac 5 remarked.

"Your drone command economy is perfect, I get it," Kara rolled her eyes.

"I am still in the process of evacuating the city. The humans are not very efficient at moving," Brainiac 5 reported. "You should be taken to a secure location until the situation resolves, of course."

"Of course, you would say that. I'm not skipping any of this weird-ass alien action," Kara declined.

At the palace, Kara had a meeting with her Joint Chiefs on the matter. "I am the eyes and ears of this planet. Nothing escapes my attention," Kara said wide-eyed.

"Our satellites are no longer responding to communications and there are dozens of spheres landing on the planet," Gen. Quinn informed her.

"Holy crap, when did this happen?" Kara asked astounded.

"They're landing all across the planet in strategic locations," Gen. Quinn continued.

"The spheres have accessed our defense satellites and attempted to undermine our planetary defenses," Brainiac 5 said.

"Any reason why we didn't shoot them down?" Kara asked peeved.

"The results would have been the same," Brainiac 5 replied. "They were not able to gather any intelligence. Their hacking skills are several levels below my capability."

"What do we know about these guys?" Kara asked.

Kara and Brainiac 5 entered the basement of Metropolis General to visit the alien patient. "Water," the alien said softly.

"Does he know English or is he just parroting what other people say to him?" Kara wondered.

"Someone said 'water' but didn't give him any?" Brainiac 5 questioned.

Kara handed the alien a glass of water and watched passively as he struggled to raise the glass to his lips. His hands shook the entire time. Kara simply waited smugly instead of giving him a straw. "I am Kara Zor-El."

"Karen?" the alien wondered.

"The fuck? No, I am the farthest thing from a Karen. It's Kara. Now, what are you and your balls doing on my planet?" Kara demanded.

"Your body is going to take some getting used to. You feel alien to me. You will take time to adapt," the alien remarked.

"Who or what do you represent?" Kara asked irritably.

"I represent a group of civilizations," the alien said.

"Where is this civilization?" Kara asked.

"All around you," the alien said obviously.

"What is your deal, asshole?" Kara demanded.

"There is a gathering of world leaders not far from here. I will explain my purpose to them," the alien said simply.

"I'm afraid democracy on this planet is one big farce. You should probably explain yourself to me," Kara objected.

"Do you speak for the entire human race?" the alien asked.

"I am the Empress of the Terran Sector, Queen of Earth and Men, Protector of the Seven Continents, Ruler of the Seven Seas, The Unburnt, The Breaker of Chains...," Kara listed off. "In summary, this is my planet."

"Your planet?" the alien questioned.

"That's right," Kara confirmed.

"The Kryptonians have conquered Earth?" the alien questioned.

"Well, no, just me. I conquered the Earth but I have Brainiac drones and humans run unimportant things to keep them busy," Kara explained. "So, yeah, this is my planet."

"No, it's not," the alien told her off.

"Okay...sedate his ass and relocate him to a more secure location," Kara ordered.

After the failed interview, Kara and Brainiac 5 had a chat. "As a scientist, I'm not sure I can consent to your approach," Brainiac 5 told her. "He wishes to speak to the UN."

"Barney, don't fuck with me," Kara chuckled. "History has lessons to teach us about the first encounters between civilizations. As a rule, the less advanced civilization has their cities nuked and their planet terraformed. That was certainly the case with Kryptonians."

"With you at the head and with my presence, it's not entirely clear Earth is the lesser civilization," Brainiac 5 countered. "This alien is a representative of the Braal Confederation. An alliance with them would be the most important foreign policy achievement this planet has ever had."

"I need to know what they're planning to do with their balls and I need to know now," Kara said seriously.

"You believe additional interrogation and drugs will discover the answers you seek?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"Well...duh," Kara said obviously.

Kara waited until the alien was awake. He was strapped to a bed facing up. "It seems we got off on the wrong foot," Kara said dryly.

"It would appear we did," the alien agreed.

"I'm going to take you to a secure medical facility where I'm going to probe your ass," Kara informed him.

"No, I'm not. I've assessed the situation and I'm leaving," the alien replied.

"I don't think you heard correctly. I'm in charge here," Kara reminded him. "You're surrounded by hundreds of soldiers and drones and then there's me. I'm kind of a big deal. You're in big trouble, mister. You invaded our airspace, your robot attacked my robots."

"Do you know what punishments I've endured for my crimes, my sins? None. I am proof of the absurdity of men's most treasured abstractions. A just universe wouldn't tolerate my existence," the alien replied.

"Barney, please," Kara called over, losing patience with him.

Brainiac 5 attempted to drug the alien but this time the needle refused to penetrate his skin. The needle bent and twisted away. "Fascinating," Brainiac 5 said as he put the needle away and then took a plastic needle, instead. He proceeded to drug the alien with something and then led him away to another room.

The alien was placed in a wheelchair and rolled into an underground room with a table and some lab equipment. Brainiac 5 hooked the alien up to several sensors around his body. "I'm going to ask you a series of control questions. Are you in a seated position?"

"Yes," the alien replied.

"Are you a Braalian?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"Yes," the alien confirmed.

"Do you feel pain?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"Are you referring to the placement of your anal probe?" the alien asked accusingly.

"Yes," Brainiac 5 nodded.

"There is absolutely no worse pain than the humdrum daily existence of the living dead," the alien said finally.

"Are you aware of an impending attack on the planet Earth?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"What can be broken, will be broken," Brainiac 5 said cryptically.

"I'll repeat the question," Brainiac 5 said and then declined to do so.

"Humanity will simply cease to be, dissolved into the void, eternally free, no longer seen, no longer heard, a wisp of smoke, a fading word," the alien said finally.

"How ominous," Brainiac 5 remarked.

"You should let me go," the alien stared intently.

"But I don't want to," Brainiac 5 countered. Suddenly, Brainiac 5 shuddered and stopped functioning. The alien telekinetically undid the metal straps on him and then reached out to Brainiac 5's body with his hand. The metal nano-machines that made up his suit came off his drone body leaving him naked and then went onto the alien creating a new black suit for him.

Immediately, the alien deactivated the drones in the facility and caused the communication devices in the ears of human agents to go haywire, dropping them. The lights fluctuated as the alien emitted electromagnetic pulses. The alien then calmly walked the corridors of the facility until he reached the outside.

When Kara was informed of the breakout, she was pissed. "I want every arm of the government, military, law enforcement, on high alert. I want the media controlled. I want every surveillance satellite and drone aircraft every freeway camera on this guy's ass," Kara demanded. "Holy shit, is this planet a surveillance state?"

"Yes, albeit a benevolent one," Brainiac 5 reassured her.

"When I did these sorts of things, I was technically a vigilante and breaking the law. Now, I am the law and I feel a bit uncomfortable now," Kara said uneasily.

"You could always break your own laws," Brainiac 5 suggested.

"Yeah...yeah," Kara nodded thoughtfully.

"There's been some human criticism of our handling of the alien, especially among the religious communities. Some consider the event to be apocalyptic. There are prayer vigils in every major city. The spheres are considered by many to be the start of a new era or the end of the world," Brainiac 5 reported.

"Feeling a little disrespected here. Where was the apocalypse when I arrived in this time?" Kara fumed.

"Your arrival was overshadowed by the Mimic invasion," Brainiac 5 pointed out.

"Yeah, bad timing," Kara sighed.

"Scientists from around the world want access to the alien," Brainiac 5 said.

"Well, tell them no," Kara said simply.

Brainiac 5 then twitched. "We have him."

Kara flew over to a Metropolis train station and found it filled with humans attempting to evacuate the city. "Alright, make way," Kara ordered, wearing her black Supergirl uniform. "Don't make me give you all the clap."

Eventually, the crowd moved out of the way for her revealing the alien sitting there. Kara dragged his ass into the rain outside. "I'm taking a huge risk not killing you immediately. Are you a friend or foe?"

"I'm a friend of the Earth," the alien replied.

"A bit vague. Come with me," Kara said and then placed him in her car. Kon happened to be in the car at the time.

"Sup?" he said immaturely.

"Kon, be quiet. Adults are talking," Kara scolded. "Surely, humans and the Earth can coexist like that old bumper sticker."

"Can inner despair and renewed optimism reside under the same roof? Can I harness humankind's wretchedness in order to broker its salvation? Should these people seek out perfection or work to accept their fallibility? Should the Earth eschew pain or embrace continued suffering? Do I cave into the meaningless of life or actively rebel against the patent absurdity of human existence?" the alien replied.

"Wow, you sound like humanity should off itself," Kara remarked.

"Suicide is an emotional reaction to the absurdity of life. Suicide is a panic-stricken reflex induced by the sinister twins of fear and foreboding. A rational person does not commit self-murder because their longing for happiness is incongruent with their present-day reality. A more measured reaction and, therefore, ultimately a braver and logical tactic is to meet life's pillbox of irrationality headfirst," the alien allowed.

"I completely agree," Kara nodded.

"But humanity will fail," the alien concluded.

Kara simply stared at him for a long moment. "Okay, what's your name, asshole?"

"I am called Rokk Krinn," he said.

Meanwhile, Brainiac 5 sent out two drone fighters to test the abilities of the robot. They fired air-to-surface missiles at the robot as they approached. The robot fired several laser beams from one eye at the same time destroying the missiles. It then took control of the drones and slammed them into two stationary tanks destroying them all. The robot then went back into sleep mode.

Kara drove Rokk out of the Metropolis area to the God-forsaken place that was Ohio. "We should kick ass on that alien invader," Kon said, oblivious that said alien invader was in the car with them.

"He may not be really dangerous after all," Kara downplayed.

"Well, we should kill it anyway," Kon said nonchalantly.

"Kon, shut the fuck up," Kara hissed.

"That's what Dad would have done," Kon mocked. "What do you think, Mister? Should we run or fight?" he asked Rokk.

"There's nothing you can do," Rokk replied. "We are merely dancing like puppets on strings having the illusion of independence."

"I'm going to have you talk to someone who I consider to be a wise sage. Maybe he can knock some sense into you," Kara said as they drove up to a restaurant.

"I have to PISS!" Kon said obnoxiously.

"Then go, God damn," Kara told him, totally embarrassed.

There was an awkward silence in the car. "Where is the boy's father?"

"Somewhere in the galaxy killing and pillaging probably. He's not important," Kara discounted.

"So, the boy wishes his soldier-father would come back to rescue him from the threatening aliens," Rokk surmised.

"He wishes his father were here for a lot of reasons...none of which are good," Kara frowned.

"Men still are men and not the keys of a piano," Rokk replied.

"Isn't that the damn truth?" Kara agreed. "I wish I could say his father wasn't that kind of soldier, that he was an engineer or some other honorable profession. That he built things rather than tear them down but...nope. He's just an asshole."

"I came here to save the Earth," Rokk told her.

"From what? Civilization? I control that civilization. With it, I will save this world," Kara assured him.

"Civilization is like a thin layer of ice upon a deep ocean of chaos and darkness," Rokk said pessimistically.

Rokk and Kara went inside the restaurant and met with J'onn J'onnz. "Your tea," Kara said gently to him.

"Leave us," he said, sending her away.

J'onn appeared as an old black man with one foot in the grave. "You've been out of contract with the confederation for a long time," Rokk pointed out.

"I'm retired," J'onn said dismissively.

"I was hoping I could reason with humanity," Rokk said.

"Humanity is hostile, destructive, unreasonable, and won't change. I've been around them for over a thousand years," J'onn said.

"Is that your official report?" Rokk asked.

"The tragedy is that it took a Kryptonian woman to fix their problems for them," J'onn mused.

"She's the reason we're here. The environmental destruction of the planet has accelerated and her presence attracts alien challenges," Rokk said.

"You will not win against her. You will die," J'onn warned.

"That's true," Rokk allowed. "This is a very queer thing that escapes all rational explanations. I cursed my luck for being the one to be sent here but as this life is coming to an end, it doesn't matter."

Meanwhile, Brainiac 5 airlifted containment panels around the robot. The containment panels locked in place trapping the robot inside. Brainiac 5 waited to see if there would be any reaction. When there was none, he airlifted the container with the robot out of the area.

At the same time, Kara drove Rokk and Kon to her Midvale palace. As they drove, Kon continued to be obnoxious. "Who is this guy? Is he a friend of yours? Do you work together? Are you having an affair with him?"

"Wow, that escalating quickly," Kara said embarrassed.

"What kind of name is Rokk?" Kon asked.

"It's short for Rocky," Kara lied. "Look, I'm just giving him a ride."

"In your car...right?" Kon teased.

"Oh my God," Kara burned.

"Why are we driving him around anyway? He looks queer to me," Kon said.

"It's complicated," Kara said dismissively.

"I'm bored. I'm about to fly out of here," Kon said.

"Don't you dare, you, little shit," Kara threatened.

"Wait...is that guy...the alien invader?" Kon realized.

"No shit, Sherlock. Now, stay in the car," Kara ordered.

"I need to go back to the city," Rokk requested.

"Not until you tell me what's going on," Kara rejected.

"This planet is dying. The human race for the last few thousand years has been slowly killing it with mass deforestation, mass extinction, greenhouse gasses, mining, radiation leaks, and the poisoning of the oceans," Rokk began.

"Look, I'm helping them. It will be just fine. Fixing the environment is super-easy, barely an inconvenience, piece of cake," Kara lied.

"No, it won't," Rokk denied. "If the Earth dies, humanity dies. If humanity dies, the Earth still survives. There are only a handful of planets in the galaxy capable of supporting complex life. This one can't be allowed to perish."

"You can't do that. You know why? I'll stop you and even if you succeed in killing off humanity, I'll light this world on fire and then I'll light your confederacy on fire," Kara threatened.

"You overestimate yourself. We've been watching you, hoping you would take the Earth in a different direction. Instead, you are increasing manufacturing production on a massive scale, increasing energy output, and extracting resources with billions of drones. It's reaching the tipping point. We have to act. We'll undo the damage you have done and give the Earth a chance to begin again," Rokk said. "The decision has been made. The process has begun."

"You won't survive that process," Kara warned him.

"Even if you arrest me or kill me, the process will continue," Rokk replied. "The pain, however, will only last a moment."

"What pain?" Kara wondered.

The car suddenly exploded in a swirl of metal shards. Kon was knocked out cold and Kara was bleeding profusely from black-star alloy metal. "During the car ride, I was slowly converting the metal in your vehicle to black-star alloy. I tried to reason with you," Rokk said to her.

The next morning, Brainiac 5 placed the robot in a deep cave surrounded by metal and concrete not far from Metropolis. The robot gave no resistance to this. Brainiac 5 did a series of tests on the robot, attempting to get a sample with a diamond drill bit which failed. The robot's red eye followed Brainiac 5's movements as if annoyed but did nothing.

Noting Kara and Kon had been hit, Brainiac 5 sent out three drone helicopters to intercept Rokk in the Maine forest. The first helicopter extracted the injured Kara and Kon and then took them away. The other two helicopters attempted to fire on Rokk. Instead, they went out of control and collided with each other. The critically damaged helicopters hit the ground in an explosion. Rokk turned away from the explosion just at the right moment like a cold badass.

In the containment room, there was a new development. The diamond drill bill began to disintegrate and the drone working the machine did as well. The restraints on the robot also started to disintegrate. Brainiac 5 turned on the furnace to be as hot as he could get it. At 3,500 C, the furnace was capable of melting tungsten yet not enough to melt black-star alloy. Brainiac 5 then sealed the facility down as the robot began to shatter into countless metal shards. The metal shards burst into the control room destroying every drone and then attempted to escape the facility.

A drone army waited for the metal shards as they breached one of the doors. As soon as the metal shards escaped, the drone army fired on it with hundreds of vehicles. The air became thick with laser fire unable to melt the black-star alloy. The metal shards became a cloud in the air and then rained down on the drone army shredding everything to pieces and absorbing the metal into itself. The much larger cloud of metal then proceeded toward Metropolis.

Kara awoke in Metropolis with sun lamps surrounding her. Her bandages around her chest were blood-soaked. Brainiac 5 entered the room to attend to her. "Kon?"

"He's fine," Brainiac 5 assured her.

"Where is the bastard?" Kara asked.

"Somewhere in Maine. He's avoiding surveillance detection while operating the black-star alloy cloud remotely," Brainiac 5 said.

"Cloud?" Kara questioned.

"His robot bodyguard dissolved into tiny shards and mixed itself with other metals to make itself larger. It's headed toward Metropolis. There's been significant infrastructure damage between the security facility and Metropolis but no fatalities reported," Brainiac 5 said. "Our only chance is for you to reason with him."

"Reason with him? I'm done with that. I'm going to kill him," Kara said resolved.

"He will be a formidable adversary. Black-star alloy can cut even you and it will not melt from heat vision," Brainiac 5 warned.

"I've dealt with these types before. Once I find him, the cloud will come to protect him," Kara figured.

Kara flew up into the air and used her super-hearing to try to find Rokk. Once she located him, she landed in the middle of a field. Rokk was there as if waiting for her. "Funny, you go for a stroll to contemplate eternal damnation and you bump into a Supergirl that's supposed to be dead. Your world works in mysterious ways," Rokk said to her.

"Hey, shut up," Kara told him off.

"But I don't want to shut up," Rokk countered.

"I'm done with your dumb depressing gothic existential philosophical nihilism," Kara declared. "Oh, the world sucks. Oh, my soul is so black. Oh, life is like a box of chocolates but it's all dark chocolate. I'm done with that shit."

"I believe I'll end this depressing facade now," Rokk said as he took out his sword.

"Scatter, Senbonzakura," Rokk said as his sword shattered into countless shards. Kara tested the metal shield of constantly shifting shards by firing multiple heat vision beams. The beams were blocked by individual shards. The shards became red hot but then circulated inside the field. Rokk suddenly went on the offense with a stream of super-fast metal shards that ripped open the ground as they approached Kara's boost. She immediately jumped up only to find the streams of metal shards chasing her. Kara evaded these streams of metal and fired back at Rokk. The beams were blocked by additional metal shards protecting him.

Kara then landed unimpressed. "What shall I call you? Magneto?"

Metal streams latched onto Kara's boots and kept her in place. "As long as I have metal, I can do anything," Rokk replied and then rained metal shards down upon her. The metal shards surrounded her in a thick collection and then suddenly imploded onto Kara's body into a nearly solid form.

Kara tore through the metal a bloody mess. Her flesh and bone were exposed from the implosion of metal around her body. Her suit was also torn in several places but the nano-machines that made up her suit quickly closed the holes. Kara rapidly healed from her injuries and the blood evaporated off her skin, hair, and uniform. "If that's all the metal you can play with, I think you're done," Kara said unimpressed.

Metal then erupted from the ground in countless shards and rushed Kara like a tsunami. The field became covered in metal shards as they rushed around Kara. The metal from below the ground also emerged, changing the landscape of the area. Trees and other vegetation were shredded and disintegrated from the tsunami of metal. Kara was caught in the wave of metal and buried by it. Before she could fly out of it, Rokk imploded the metal around her.

Kara tore out of the sea of metal and elbowed Rokk to the ground dumbfounding him. Rokk quickly got up and became surrounded by multiple layers of metal shards he had collected from the air and the ground. The metal shards rapidly rotated around him and with a thickness that made him no longer visible. Kara started to use her super-breath and after achieving hurricane windspeeds, the metal shards flew away from Rokk into the distance. In vain, he attempted to regain them as he was completely exposed. Kara kept it up until all the metal shards were a good distance away from Rokk and then fired a heat vision beam through his gut, dropping him.

"It doesn't have to be this way," Kara said to him.

"All of history is a rehearsal for its own extinction," Rokk replied defeated and having given up.

"Tell me, were you born fucked up or did you have to work on it?" Kara asked dismayed.

"We do what we must, we do what we are told, we do what is easiest. What else can we do but solve one sordid problem at a time? Then one day we look up and find that we are...this," Rokk replied, still struggling to breathe while coughing up blood.

"Every civilization reaches a crisis point eventually," Kara told him.

"Most of them don't make it, including yours," Rokk pointed out.

"Oh, yeah? How did your great civilization deal with your crisis?" Kara scoffed.

"Our civilization waged war with people like me, metal benders. We destroyed our cities, our world. So, we evolved our society to survive from ourselves. We created floating cities of non-metal materials," Rokk explained.

"Humanity was on the brink of destruction before I came to this time. But it's only on the brink that people find the will to hand over their freedom and prosperity to an alien monarch to solve their problems for them. This is my moment and you won't take it from me. I am the answer," Kara said to him.

"You might as well kill me. Transform me into particles that will one day find themselves in the deep cold vacuum of space and then become sucked into a black hole where it will be trapped in a singularity for all eternity," Rokk requested.

"Rokk, nothing ever truly dies. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you live forever, immortal, all-powerful, in the Seventh dimension," Kara told him.

"Really?" he doubted.

"There's another side of you that can be hopeful and joyful," Kara predicted.

"I feel it now," Rokk said and then struggled to smirk, the first happy expression he had shown since arriving on Earth.

Rokk was placed in a secure underground prison made of plastic and glass. The entire prison cell was made of glass suspended in the air by plastic cables in a large open space. A plastic bridge linked up to the prison when Rokk had visitors. All of Rokk's clothes were ensured to be free of metal and this was also the case with the human guards. Kara came by to play chess with him.

"Does it wake you up in the middle of the night that the Braal Confederation may pass a law today or the next day to pass the final sentence on your world?" Rokk asked.

"I wish I gave a shit," Kara replied.

"What will you do when my confederation arrives to destroy your human civilization?" Rokk asked.

"I pity the fool who tries to fuck with my pet race," Kara said seriously.

"Why do you come, Kara?" Rokk asked.

"You know why," Kara said, placing her hand on her chest.

"Ah, yes, your continued search for hope," Rokk mocked. "You know this plastic prison can't hold me. My power extends to all the metals in your planet's crust, the mantle, and even your core. Your moon as well."

"You don't scare me," Kara rolled her eyes.

"The war is coming, Kara. We cannot escape our destiny," Rokk said to her as she prepared to leave.

"Then I will always be there to punk you," Kara assured him and then walked off like a boss.

Author's Notes: Cosmic Boy, Rokk Krinn has the characterization of Abridged Bleach's Byakuya and Naruto's Gaara who is a super-emo with arrogant nobility. As with most Legion/Vindicators in AOS, Cosmic Boy is going to be way OP compared to his TV counterparts. A lot of Rokk's dialogue comes from random emo quotes from authors and philosophers.
