Ch 5

After getting the new black Stealth Suit from Nick Fury's crew who still wouldn't stop bugging Petra, the next stop for the group was Prague but it was going to be right in the heart of the battle so Fury made some arrangements and had the class go to the opera instead of the Carnival of Lights.

"Boo!" Flash groaned loudly. "Why are we going to some boring opera instead of the coolest party ever?" he asked as he trudged along with the other kids.

You'll thank me later when that giant fire monster comes. Petra thought frustradely with a sigh but she didn't say anything.

Then she waited until it was time and sure enough, a gigantic monster made of bright orange flames roared out of the ground, sending people into a panic.

Then Petra leapt in with her Stealth Suit and Mysterio followed her, blasting the monster with his lasers.

Spider-Girl tried to use her webs but the webs just melted and the Fire Elemental roared as it punched down only for Mysterio to block with his green force field.

"Onto plan B?" he asked.

"Yeah, we gotta hit him with something he can't absorb!" Spider-Girl replied.

Then she webbed a piece of stone and hurled it which staggered the Fire Elemental and Mysterio blasted it in the same spot, causing more damage.

"That hurt him, keep it coming!" he said.

After a few more minutes of this, the Fire Elemental changed its plan and rumbled down straight to the precariously falling ferris wheel right where Ned and Betty were.

No, no, no!

Spider-Girl tried to swing after it but she wasn't fast enough.

Luckily, Mysterio swooped in and blasted it back.

Thank god.

Suddenly, one of Spider-Girl's webs hit something and it flew off through the air before disappearing.

"What the heck is that?" she asked but Mysterio was too busy fighting.

Note to self, check on that later.

Still, she couldn't shake off the feeling of uneasyness.

Then the Fire Elemental roared and brought her mind back to the present as Mysterio was powering up with a green glowing aura.

"Beck, what are you doing?" Spider-Girl asked.

"What I should have done last time." Mysterio said with a determined voice.

Then he zoomed right into the Fire Elemental and it was enveloped in a green aura before exploding in a huge green mist.

No! I already lost Stark! I can't lose him too! I just can't!

"Beck!" Spider-Girl shouted as she swung down, then hurridely ran over.

To her relief, Mysterio was still alive and got back up just as Nick Fury and his crew arrived.

After Fury was done talking with Mysterio about setting up a new team, he then turned to Petra.

"You got gifts, Parker. But you didn't want to be here. Stark made you an Avenger. I need that. The world needs that. Maybe Stark was wrong. The choice is yours."

Then Petra just stood there thinking it over really hard.

"Let's get a drink." Mysterio said as he patted Petra on the shoulder.

"I'm not 21." Petra said but she joined him anyway.

Stark did make her an Avenger.

And she couldn't use EDITH.

But she did know someone who could.
