The Negotiator, Bridge
Commander Cody and Clone Trooper Boil stood just outside the Bridge waiting until Obi-Wan Kenobi got done with his Private Council meeting. The doors beeped and opened, Obi-Wan waved them inside. They both walked over and saluted, Obi-Wan smiled and said "At ease. I have something important to tell the both of you and you will find it very difficult to believe. About three days ago, a plot against the Jedi Order and the Republic was found. It appears to have been orchestrated by Count Dooku and someone well connected within the Republic. Before I say more, it would be better explained by the two individuals who found the plot." With that last sentence Obi-Wan turned toward the Holo-computer and typed up a series of frequencies.
After he was done the forms of Lieutenant Jesse and Captain Rex were projected. Captain Rex had his helmet off and said "It's good to see you Cody." Cody replied, "Same to you Rex but, could you tell what exactly is going on?" Rex adopted a serious expression before he began "This begins the evening after Fives passed." Cody nodded, the loss of the Arc Trooper had hit him hard as well. Rex cleared his throat and continued "I was going over everything that had happened with Tup and Fives. Their behavior was so random and out of character. It all seemed to revolve around those damn inhibitor chips. The kaminoans told us that the purpose of the chips was to make us more docile. They said after Fives had removed his chip he went nuts and that was why he tried to kill the Chancellor. Think about that though. There just so happened to be no one left in the room. Not even the Chancellor's personal guards. All surveillance just so happened to malfunction. If Fives really went mad after he removed his chip, why didn't he try and harm anyone else before the Chancellor? The Chancellor's explanation for Tup's behavior made even less sense. How could it have been a parasite if no one else got infected? Half of my legion was planet side when Tup was supposedly infected. The fact that no one else got the parasite makes no sense. The Chancellor then tells us that the parasite decayed and caused the Inhibitor chip to malfunction. If that was the case why did he immediately snap into a trance like state and kill a Jedi. All this made no sense. Me and Jesse removed our chips and nothing happened. We didn't feel homicidal, we had no change in behavior or feelings. We decided to investigate further and we found a mechanical chip embedded in the inhibitor chip. After Jesse broke through the security, he found a large list of contingency orders. We scrolled through them and that's where we found the plot to kill the Jedi and take over the entire Republic. Order 66 states if the Jedi ever act in a way that is not aligned with the Republic's interest then the GAR, with special orders from the Chancellor, is to execute them immediately and the Chancellor will take control of the GAR. We would be ordered to execute them on the spot. That's wrong and we all know it but looking at Tup's behavior we wouldn't be able to control it. It seemed to rewrite his brain and make him as obedient as a droid. That's not the worst of it. That order reminds me of What Krell said to me on Umbara. The Jedi would lose the war and the Republic would be ripped apart from the inside. Since Krell was going to be an agent of Dooku, it is safe to say Dooku is heavily involved. He also said the Republic would be ripped apart from the inside. The only way for that to happen is if the Chancellor took absolute control. He is in a perfect position to do that. His emergency powers have been increasing since the beginning of this war and he now has control of the banks. It is sad to say but Chancellor Palpatine is heavily involved in this plot to rip apart the Galaxy and kill the Jedi. You and Boil need to remove your chips as soon as possible and work with General Kenobi to remove the chips of the entire 212th."
Cody and Boil were shocked but as they went over what Rex had said, all the pieces began to fall into place. All these coincidences seemed to be happening that continuously turned public opinion against the Jedi and gave the Chancellor more and more power. If public opinion was so against the Jedi, then the Chancellor would look like a hero for wiping out the threat to his power. Not only that but millions of their brothers would be enslaved. They would lose their free will and become expendable toys for the Chancellor. Cody and Boil would rather die than let that happen. The Jedi actually cared about them and they fought beside them. They would never turn against their Jedi leaders. Cody and Boil looked at Rex and Jesse before they spoke as one "Where do we start?"
Rex smiled along with Obi-Wan and said "Go to the medical bay and tell the droid to perform a Phase Five Atomic Level Brain Scan and remove any foreign tissue from the body. After you both have recovered, start removing the chips of your entire Legion. We need to free as many of our brothers as soon as possible." They both smiled and Saluted Rex and Obi-Wan as a sign of respect before they both turned to Obi-Wan and said "Thank you Sir, we will stand with you." Obi-Wan gave Cody and Boil a hug before saying "It has been an honor to serve with you, freeing you and your brothers was the least I could do. I will stand with you as well. I will see you both once you have recovered from the surgery. Good luck." Cody and Boil nodded before they walked off the bridge and towards the medical bay. Obi-Wan then turned towards Rex and asked "What is the progress with the other Clone Legions?" Rex pulled up a data pad and began to rattle off the Legion numbers and percentage of free clones, no of his free brothers.
