Hey, hey!
This chapter will be taking place the same night as the Uchiha massacre/death of Hiashi. It's a Naruto based chapter.
Enjoy!
The night of the Uchiha massacre, and the death of the Hyuga leader.
Naruto heard the loud siren as it went off in the village. It woke him up from his sleep and he was surprised, because he doesn't remember setting up any traps or anything to make the alarm go off this time. So, something major must have happened. Naruto over time had become somewhat of a menace to the people of Konoha.
He'd vandalize property and monuments. He'd steal. Just overall petty things. However, that was when he was around six and eight years old. When the allowance that the third Hokage gave him, barely got him through one week. He kept his rugged lifestyle away from his best friend as much as possible. However, well, Hinata was very observant. Even with her own hell at home going on.
She caught on that Naruto was lacking the money to eat properly. Thus, Hinata made the idea up for her to fill up his home with food. Her 'thank you' for letting her have free range in his home.
It was almost an insider Hyuga effort to help Naruto. Hinata would be escorted some days with her guardian Kō. He wasn't a major fan of Hiashi Hyuga, and anything that would make Hinata the slightest bit happy, Kō would try to do. So, he'd help on this agenda to feed a defenseless kid. That's how Kō saw Naruto, he didn't see the nine tails, and he'd never ruin the one friendship Hinata had because of that title looming over this kid.
Hinata just didn't want Naruto to get into any more trouble, or get a bad name for himself. So, after a while, Naruto stopped stealing. Hinata spent as much time with him as possible to keep him from getting, 'bored'. Again, after a while, Naruto stopped getting into mischief too.
Publicly.
He had shifted his, 'cries for attention', to something more satisfying for himself. His hobbies shifted from daytime activities to night time.
When Naruto walked over to his window, in the living room, and saw bright red and yellow lights. Usually when he did something it was just blue lights. Yellow and red, that meant someone died. That meant something really bad happened and the village was on lockdown. No one was coming in or going out. The murderer would be trapped.
This caused Naruto to rush to his bedroom window. Typically, when something off the wall was happening in the village, the criminals would end up on his side of town. For some reason, his alleyway near his bedroom window was their hiding spot. Like some international unspoken rule was to hang out in this alleyway after committing a crime.
So, Naruto started taking great joy in messing with said criminals.
He was a small kid. He knew that. He was short for his age group, compared to the other boys. To compensate for all of that. Naruto grew a fondness for boobytraps.
His favorite was setting up little manholes covered in shrubbery or debris. It looked like nothing down there. Completely normal alley that criminals, thugs and junkies would frequent to hide from the law or to get high. Until they made their way over one of Naruto's traps.
That was when the fun started.
They'd fall. At first, that was enough entertainment for Naruto. He'd hide nearby, or in his apartment in silence to watch them fall. Until one day, one pitiful fool, broke his leg. He screamed in pain and misery. The holes in the beginning weren't that big, so Naruto watched as the man hobbled away. Grasping onto his dangling foot. Groaning and on the verge of tears.
Served him right. Naruto didn't feel bad about it.
If anything. It made Naruto want to go beyond just making a hole and covering it up. He advanced his boobytraps by putting sharp objects in the hole. Widening the hole, making it so a full grown man would fall in the hole and have to climb out. So deep just their head would be visible and poke out.
The first agonizing scream Naruto heard from the man that broke his foot. That proved to be whimsical for Naruto. He kind of…enjoyed the sound. Half of the people in Naruto's neighborhood were straight assholes anyways. They weren't nice to him, and acted like they were above him. Yet, they lived in the same shitty neighborhood as him. Meaning, they had struggles too.
So it wasn't foreign for Naruto to see one of those shitty people from his neighborhood wander in his alleyway. To enjoy food they stole. Enjoy a prostitute. Drugs, and maybe alcohol. You name it. His alley was the hot spot. Of course the third Hokage thought it was a splendid idea to push him out here in this neighborhood.
Anyways. That was a story for a different day.
To see those people Naruto knew, and didn't like wander down his alley and fall into his boobytraps. To hear them scream in pain and agony. To beg for help to get out the hole. This proved to satisfy Naruto more. It made him smile. He felt vengeance for some reason. Like those people were getting what came to them.
What makes a Tennan fall from grace? They stop serving the higher purpose. They judge and they hate. The fallen Tennan steers away from giving humans chances in life. They punish them, and does not believe in humans receiving forgiveness.
The Tennan starts to punish instead of uplift. However, a Tennan, just like man, can be forgiven.
One day. Someone fell and one of the sharp objects in the trap penetrated through their skull.
Killing them almost instantly. Naruto barely got to enjoy the sound of their pain on initial impact. That was the first dilemma he ever experienced. He had no clue what to do with this corpse. Surely if law enforcement got involved they would start upping patrols in his area. Near his alleyway, and he wouldn't have fun anymore. Naruto would miss the screams.
Those Uchiha's were really good police officers. They'd ruin all his fun.
So, what else could Naruto do, but tell his best friend. Ask Hinata for help. Lady luck was on his side that night, because Hinata just so happened to be kicked out her house for the millionth time that week. She was in his apartment laying on his couch. So she didn't hear the screams from the man in the alley from his bedroom.
When Naruto told Hinata he needed her help. When he told her that he needed her to not judge, and to just help him get this dead body out the alley and help him dispose of it. Hinata said okay, and that was it.
Can you believe it? She didn't look scared. She didn't look at him like he was some freak. She just said okay. That she'd help him, and that she knew it wasn't his fault.
Now, Naruto wasn't going to full on lay the truth on her. He didn't even know why he found joy in torturing people to this extent. So, he just let Hinata believe that it was all a misunderstanding. They took the body near the redlight district, which was pretty far from his apartment, and dumped it near a dumpster.
Sometimes it was a good thing Naruto lived in such a crappy area. The amount of things he gets away with here was diabolical.
After that incident two months ago. Naruto didn't want to get Hinata involved anymore. However, he had to add. In his nine years of living, he's never had someone stick by his side like Hinata does. She made his heart swell with happiness. Being Hinata's friend for the last few years, have been the best!
It would be even better, if he didn't have to share his best friend title.
Still, to keep Hinata away from his…umm hobbies. Naruto had to find out another way to handle these dead bodies, if something like this happened again.
Which it did happen again. Several more times actually. So, Naruto learned a thing or two about fire. Really, really hot fires. About 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit to cremate a human body. How did he learn this? A LOT of trial and error. So, now if someone 'mistakenly' died from his traps. He'd instantly cremate them.
Meaning Naruto spent a lot of time around the Uchiha clan. Just wandering around. You know. Being that orphan kid that wanted to see the 'cool cops' train. Maybe if he worked hard enough one day he could 'be one of them'.
Like that would ever happen.
Law enforcement belonged to the Uchiha clan. Naruto has never seen anyone that wasn't an Uchiha join law enforcement. It was their thing. Certain clans had certain privileges of keeping certain jobs he supposed.
Whatever, bottom line. He learned how to use fire techniques, just for this particular…hobby.
So, fast forward to Naruto's situation now. The loud sirens keeping him awake. Naruto rushed over to look in his alleyway. To watch his next victims fall prey to his traps, because he just knew the criminals would run there. Sure enough, two bodies ran down his alley. However, Naruto furrowed his brows at what they were wearing.
Hinata said her other best friend had a really cool cloak. It was black, with red clouds on them. Just like the cloaks these guys were wearing. One of them HAD to be Hinata's other best friend, considering Naruto told her to talk to him tonight.
So who the hell was the other person? Hinata BETTER not have a third best friend!
Naruto was going to address this RIGHT fucking now.
He ignored the snapping sounds of his boobytraps going off and collected some other trinkets from his closet and made his way outside. Coming down to the fire stairwell, Naruto made his way down fairly fast and watched as one plant like looking man was fully embedded in his trap and the other was currently pulling himself out the other one.
Naruto looked at the dark haired man, that was half way out one of his holes, and walked up to him. Unnerved. "Your foot is jacked up."
The man wore a mask, but Naruto could tell he was looking at him. He tilted his head at Naruto and grunted. "Yeah. No shi-" Before Obito could finish, Naruto blew dust in his face. A heavy load, that Naruto was sure got in between his mask. Obito coughed several times, and reached for Naruto aggressively, before his aggression slowed down and Obito fell face first on the ground.
Naruto turned and looked at the half green man in a dull manner. Still a look of annoyance on his face. "That trap you fell in. I made it so once one foot walks on it, it doesn't budge. Both of your feet have to stand on it, and it's a split board underneath the crap you walked on. So once both your feet are on it. The board splits in two and the blades are faced at a position that sticks into your skin…or whatever you have. Kind of like snakes teeth. Pretty much, once you come in. You're not coming out. Get it?"
Naruto was now smiling as he explained his trap. Getting excited. Like he was in a candy store. "As for the other guy. I got this really cool knock out dust from the Uchiha police station. They didn't even see me take it. Ha-ha! No one notices the annoying kid asking to see the shiny badges."
Naruto nonchalantly pulled out a toy ninja, and kneeled in front of the plant like man. Since only his head was showing, Naruto was towering over him. "It took me forever to dig these holes too. So freaking hard. Anyway, I kind of know who that guy sleeping over there is. Who the hell are you though? Do you know my Hinata? She's my best friend ya know."
The plant like looking man looked at Naruto like he was insane for a moment. Zetsu did not have time for this. He should have left this nonsense to Obito, since he was the one that HAD to come to this village and see that annoying little girl. Getting triggered by her pitiful home story, when this whole time he was just supposed to come here and fulfill his agreement with that slime Danzo and slaughter the Uchiha clan with Itachi Uchiha.
Hearing about this Hyuga girl again, Zetsu saw an opening to get out this ridiculous hole without being noticed. "Yes, I've heard she's your best friend. She's a good friend of mine as well."
The smile on Naruto's face dropped. This man was lying. Hinata was his best friend and NEVER said anything about this creep. "Yeah? It's a shame her mom is such a jerk, like her dad. Right?"
Zetsu internally rolled his eyes, but smiled at the little blonde kid. "Yes, her mom is scum. Don't you worry though. Me and my partner over there are working on that. Do me a favor little one. Get me out of this hole." For some reason, Zetsu felt too weak to pull his body out the hole himself all of a sudden.
Naruto shrugged his shoulders and continued to frown at Zetsu. "Why? The blades are laced with Nerium Oleanders. It's one of the most poisonous plants in the world, and it's all in your blood now. Like…you're about to die. I had to get creative when my traps weren't killing people fast enough. I have some antibiotics that'll probably save you though, but since you decided to be a jerk and lie about my Hinata. You can just die like the rest of them."
What. The. Hell. This wasn't some ordinary nine year old kid. This kid had to be possessed.
Naruto held up his toy ninja, and pointed it at the plant man's face. "By the way. Hinata doesn't have room for anymore friends. Especially fake friends like you."
With that the 'toy ninja' ejected out a sharpened wooden steak. Right in between Zetsu eyes. Penetrating through his brain. Instantly killing him.
Naruto let out a sigh as he stood up and looked at the two bodies. "Tsk. This sucks. My buddy isn't even here to help me."
It took Naruto some time, but he finally was able to rid the plant like creature into miniature dust and carry the heavy adult male upstairs to his apartment. Undetected at that.
After some time, Obito jolted awake. On the alert before pain etched onto his face and he grinded his teeth as he grabbed his right ankle. He was breathing hard. Sweating lightly.
"I'm glad you didn't fall all the way in the trap. That's where a lot of those flowers are, and I wouldn't have been able to do anything to help you. Hinata would have never forgiven me."
Obito felt his face and growled as he noticed his mask was off. "I should kill you. You little fucking brat."
Naruto's eyes widened as he held a tray of milk for himself and Obito. "Jeez. I just helped you. I'm sure those sirens sounding off right now is for you and that plant thing. You've only been knocked out for like an hour and a half. I'm the one harboring a fugitive, but if you did me and Hinata a favor and offed her dad. It's all worth it."
Obito blinked as he looked at Naruto. Was this really a nine year old kid talking? Or was this part of the nine tails fox? "You wanted her father dead?"
Naruto grunted as he pulled out his first aid kit. "Of course. Her dad has been a grade A douchebag since I met Hinata. Always kicking her out. Being super mean to her for no reason. Hitting her. Usually in spots no one can see because she's always in a kimono, but she'd still limp from it. One time he kicked her out in the winter, and Hinata gets super cold easily. Like she caught the flu, and had to go to the hospital for a week. I was so angry with that guy. Of course I wanted him dead."
Obito frowned at this. Hinata never told him that. He remembered when she got sick, at no point does he recall it being because her father was treating her like utter trash. Obito flinched and hissed as Naruto roughly took his leg, and plopped his injured right ankle on his lap. "Are you stupid?! That's not how you tend to someone you idiot! You're smart enough to make traps for people, to kill them in an alleyway, but not to take care of a basic injury!?"
Naruto shot Obito a dirty look. "You're an adult. Why are you acting like this?" Hinata said this guy was so big and bad. Tsk, yeah right.
Obito growled at Naruto in return. "What kind of kid makes those types of traps anyways. Killing people like some serial killer psycho. Hinata has mentioned you to me as well, and by no means did she mention you were insane."
Really. A heads up would have been nice Hinata.
The two hot heads stared at one another before Naruto finished his task at wrapping Obito's injury. "Your friend is dead. The poison in my trap got to him, and I couldn't save him in time. I tried, just to let you know. I'm not some 'serial killer.'"
Something a serial killer would say.
Obito stared at Naruto. He felt like he was lying. Zetsu did not look like he was on the verge of dying before he passed out. He was getting a little sweaty, but he didn't look that much on the decline. There was something up with this kid. Obito felt like he was looking in the mirror a little.
This kid was hiding his true self. Just like he did. Always a jokester or optimistic, until he was alone. Left to his inner thoughts.
"Who lives here with you kid?" Naruto frowned at being called a kid, but still answered him. "Me, myself and I. Why? If you kill me, that would be pretty messed up after I helped you."
Obito grinned at him. If only it was that easy. "Even if I wanted to. There are two main reasons I can't. One, I've done enough killings tonight. Reason why I couldn't just transport myself out of this village so easily without getting some of my chakra back. Me and Zetsu went in the alley to get a breather and the authorities off our back. Two, you aren't easy to kill. You're special kid, if you haven't noticed."
Naruto looked at Obito confused. What the hell was this guy talking about. 'Killings'? He should have just killed Hinata's dad. He killed MORE people? What was so special about him anyways? "I'm special? Why, because I like to trick people to fall in my traps?"
Obito's eye twitched. 'Trick' is an understatement. This kid was nuts. He almost couldn't blame him though. Judging by his neighborhood and living situation. The village pretty much pushed him to be like this. Obito wouldn't grow an attachment to this though. This kid and the Hyuga girl, were temporary in his life.
It was all about how he could go about using them.
"First. Let's be honest. They aren't 'tricks'. You're doing adult things, and you're killing people. You and I both know that. So, drop the act. Secondly. You're special because you have that nine tails demon inside of you. Let me guess. You didn't know."
Naruto blinked rapidly at him. He's heard the stories of the nine tailed demon fox. The demon that invaded the village and killed innocent people. That killed the Hokage and his wife. "What?"
That's all he could say. This man was saying he was a monster. Obito internally smirked at this. Good. Kid was completely clueless. He was in molding condition. Using Hinata was a good thing. He knew to 'befriend' her, it would result in him being able to close in on the Uzumaki kid. Gain his trust without having to be around him.
"These people never told you why you're an orphan? Some psycho invaded the village. Putting the nine tails under their…spell. Killed many innocent people, and the fourth Hokage. Your father by the way. He went to save his people. He did, but in a last ditch effort to win the fight, the psycho attacked the Hokage's newborn child by using the demon. Resulting in him and his wife, to protect you. Sacrificing their lives for you. Your dad name was Minato Namikaze, and your mom's name was Kushina Uzumaki. So, yeah. I would think with a family line like that, they'd put you somewhere nicer than…this."
This place was a dump. The third Hokage was top tier trash for this.
Obito was really one to talk. What was a little manipulation gonna hurt though? So what. He told the truth for pretty much everything except for the 'psycho'. "Hey. If you don't believe me, just ask the third Hokage. He can't lie to you. Or, use your brain and go to the library. Look up the Hokage and his wife. She's an Uzumaki, you'll see. There aren't many of you running around ya know. You're the only one in this village kid. Connect the dots."
Naruto swallowed hard and dropped his first aid bag as tears swelled up in his eyes. He refused to cry around this stranger though. Why was he telling him this? "So what? You're like the villagers here and think I'm that demon fox? Why aren't you killing me again?"
Obito frowned at this. The people here really categorized him to the nine tails? That is so WEIRD. "What? No. That's stupid. I'm not killing you, because if I did, the nine tails would emerge out of you, and rain hell on me and everyone in this village. I have a damn sprained ankle, thanks to you. I can't fight that thing right now. Why don't you come with me out this village, if the people are picking on you so much."
He could rip that demon from him that way. This could be easier than Obito thought.
Naruto gave Obito a guarded look. He told him that messed up story, and then smoothly asks him to leave the village with him. "I don't even know your name. I don't know you. Plus, I'm not leaving Hinata."
Stranger danger went off the moment Naruto walked down to that alley. Just because this guy was Hinata's other 'best friend', doesn't mean he was anything to Naruto. Telling him this messed up information about his parents meant nothing to Naruto. He obviously couldn't do anything with this information, but be upset. He was still an orphan. People still didn't like him in Konoha. Hinata was still here, and he still wanted to be with his best friend.
Naruto was concluding he didn't like this man as Hinata's best friend.
"My name is Obito Uchiha. You tell no one this. No one. Only you and Hinata know my name. Understand?" Naruto rolled his eyes at the light threat. Who the hell was he going to tell? If he told, everyone would know he was 'pranking' people in his alley. "Yeah, yeah. I got it. So, will you still be coming to see Hinata? She says sometimes you train her. Can you train me?"
Obito arched his brow at this. Why the hell would he do that? At this point he was ready to just take this kid and risk his chances.
Naruto noticed Obito's silence and shifted to plan B. Rebuttal. "Look. Obito. I'm a kid. I get it, but I'm not stupid. You're a bad guy. You're probably in a gang or something. You tell me about this demon I have, because you want me to go with you. I'm not going with you, but I can be helpful to you for a while. I'm going to be going to the academy soon. I'll be a legit ninja soon. If you help me be awesome, I'll help you get stuff you need from Konoha. Without having to snoop around here yourself, and risk getting caught. Me and Hinata can be really helpful. Especially if her dad really is gone."
Obito looked at Naruto strangely. This kid was like what? Nine or ten years old. Why the hell was he so attentive? So grim and conniving? While Obito didn't have parents growing up. Them dying in previous wars. He had a grandmother and he did grow up in the Uchiha clan. So, he didn't understand how it completely felt to be without a family. This kid came from nothing, so he was kind of a mystery to Obito.
An interesting mystery.
Why not get any and everything he could out of the kid before killing him and taking the nine tails. "Deal. You two keep up being useful, and I'll train you some. You got yourself a deal."
Obito extended his hand out for Naruto to shake. Naruto took the hand and shook it. Both making eye contact with one another. Both not knowing what the other was getting themselves into.
Naruto woke up to a knock on his front door. That man Obito was gone, and it was just him in his apartment. He knew the knock. It was a soft knock that only Hinata could do and still wake him up. He was used to it. Since she did it over the years when she got kicked out in the night.
That shouldn't be happening anymore.
Naruto groggily went to his front door. He didn't go to sleep until three in the morning. He was very much still tired, and practically forgot about his night adventure. Situations like that didn't bother him anymore.
When he opened his front door, he was shocked to see Hinata was not alone. She had Kō, and two other Hyuga guards with her. She looked distraught. Fully upset and Naruto could see that she has been crying. This did not settle well with him. "Hinata? What's wrong?"
She lunged at him, and hugged him in desperation for comfort. Naruto's eyes widened, but he immediately hugged her in return. "Father! Naruto-kun. Father has been killed! That Uchiha murdered his clan last night, and he murdered my father for no reason!"
Oh. That's what Obito was talking about. He really was a murderer.
A force to be reckon with. A dangerous man.
Someone Naruto was starting to see as a threat. That could really be Hinata's best friend, and replace him.
Not on his watch. "What?! Are you okay Hinata?" He felt Hinata shake her head signaling she was definitely not okay. "They are saying that his next in line has to take the position of leader. That is me Naruto-kun."
He pulled away from her and held her by her shoulders. "What? You're NINE. We haven't even started being ninjas yet!" Hinata looked at him as her bottom lip trembled. "Kō will be there by my side. I have requested for Neji to be there as well. That is why I've come to you Naruto-kun. You…you three are the only people I trust."
She took one of his hands and held it fondly. The look in her eyes, she really needed Naruto right now. She needed her best friend. Naruto could see that losing her father had more of an impact on Hinata than he thought. She looked hysterical. Just…not the same. That was okay. He still cared for her the same.
"Come stay with me Naruto-kun. Come to the Hyuga compound. Forever."
Naruto followed his best friend. He was officially not an orphan after this day. The Hyuga clan adopting him at nine years old. Just because he was an independent, stubborn kid. He kept the last name Uzumaki. Plus, he was proud of that name.
Naruto did end up going to the library. He took Hinata, and Neji came with them. They looked in the history books. They made the connections, and they felt the emotions Naruto felt. Naruto personally confronted the Hokage, not giving away his connections and basing it off the library information he gathered. The Hokage validated everything.
Naruto was the fourth Hokage's son. His mother was Kushina Uzumaki. They did die protecting him, yet this is where Naruto ended up. Being the outcast after his parents sacrificed it all for the greater good.
Hinata's father has been killed. Naruto has been adopted. He's found out about his past. Who he really was. After these series of events, the Hyuga clan became integrated with Akatsuki. Helping the terrorist organization with finances and intel from Konoha. In return, the clan had solid protection and never was threatened again from outsiders. Even other Konoha clans or council.
Obito planted a seed in Naruto Uzumaki. He created a monster, a monster that wanted the feathers from a certain kimono.
End of chapter.
So, this is the foundation of where the story begins!
As you can see off bat, Naruto is a liar. Lying to Obito that he tried to save Zetsu. However, sharing with Obito his desires of having Hiashi killed. Obito is training Naruto now. Naruto knows a lot more and has a family now.
Plus, Naruto has a very unique hobby. That's not going away.
In this chapter the method of torture/death used were Punji Stake traps and Nerium Oleanders. Nerium Oleanders are extremely toxic and poisonous plants. Single dosage can take you out. Punji Stake traps were known in the Vietnam war. Trapping and killing multiple in it's unique setup. Pictures on my Tumblr.
Well, that's all for this chapter. See you next Saturday!
