ANL Here's another chapter you guys and thanks for taking the time to read it! I know I'm not the only one when I say that after this last episode (X-men '97) this is much deserved. ðŸ˜

"Shh quiet!" Jubilee whisper shouted the next day as her feet could be heard echoing down the pristine lower-level floors as she, Kitty and Rogue continued on their way to the infirmary. "We don't want to get caught!"
"And why are we down here again?" Rogue tried to hold back her laughter when Jubilee gave her a pointed look.
"Isn't it obvious?"
"Because Rogue, don't we want to make sure that guy's ok?" Kirry whispered as she peeked her head around the corner to make sure no one was there.
"W-well yeah but why do we have to sneak around?"
"It's better this way, trust me." Jubilee quickly waved them onwards knowing that if they asked Storm or Logan how the newcomer was doing, then all they would say is for them not to worry. "Bedsides don't we want to give him the grand welcome?"
"Yeah Rogue. Aren't you the least bit curios about who he is?" Kitty asked as they began walking down the hall once they knew the coast was clear.
"Not really." She shrugged. "Storm seems to know him and from the way Logan acted, he doesn't necessarily seem to like him very much."
"Does he ever?" Jubilee grinned when she saw them shrug.
Glancing back the way they came; Rogue began fidgeting with the sleeve of her shirt thinking they probably shouldn't be down here. If Bobby was here, he would probably wonder why they couldn't just wait until Mr. McCoy gave them the ok. But she couldn't deny the curiosity growing within her after every step and the small thrill of the possibility of being caught.
It was lunch time, and they knew that the good doctor along with everyone else was busy enjoying the few minutes they had left. So, like the good young aspiring X-men that they are, they made it their personal duty to see to this guy's well-being… or at least that's what Jubilee had said when she dragged them down here.
"There!" Jubilee eagerly ran to stare through the front of the big window next to the metal door that would lead them to the infirmary with barely contained glee. "Alright Rogue, get us in."
"Ah don't feel right about this." Rogue admitted as she pulled out a keycard from her jean pocket. Hank had given it to her after their visit to Alkali Lake once she became interested in helping out in the infirmary. She wanted to learn a little bit more in the event that they needed someone to help patch them up during one of their missions in the event Hank couldn't be there, and of course since Jean wasn't here anymore.
At the time she was grateful that he accepted her help, especially now that she didn't have her powers anymore. It at least helps give her purpose and added to some of the useful skills she had gained instead of constantly feeling like she was in the way. At least she had hoped.
But now she only felt guilty about using his trust while he wasn't here.
"Relax Rogue." Kitty placed a soothing hand on her shoulder when she finally swiped her card, and they heard the audible sound of a CLICK . "We won't be long, right Jubes?"
"Uh-huh…" Jubilee gave an unconvinced smile as she let her brown eyes eagerly look around the place until they landed on an unconscious body laying on the infirmary bed a few feet away. "Jackpot!"
"Jubilee!" Kitty shushed as she quietly closed the door behind them.
"I call dibs!" With a sly grin Jubilee let her eyes drag over Remy's sleeping form as he lay motionless with a thin white blanket covering his lower half while his top half lay out completely exposed for them to see. "Woah mama, would you look at the treat I found."
Rolling her eyes Rogue watched as Kitty quickly went to join Jubilee to gawk at the poor guy. "Ok you've seen him; now can we please go?"
"Hmm, you take away all the cuts and bruises…" Kitty hummed in approval as they continued to let their eyes drag over him.
"Hey I find it kinda sexy." Jubilee winked before the two girls broke out in hushed laughter.
"You guys!"
"Rogue just come over here!" Jubilee eagerly motioned her over with her hand. "You definitely won't be disappointed."
"Ah seriously doubt that." She frowned but nevertheless found herself still walking over and blaming it on the curious side of her.
"Would you look at that?" Jubilee playfully whistled in appreciation. "What a great specimen of a man."
"No…not really." Rogue quietly replied, but her eyes conveyed quite the opposite when she found them slowly trailing up and down his rather tanned muscular yet toned physique that she was sure came as a result of a lot of hard work. Everything seemed perfectly sculpted as if right out of a magazine. From his long scruffy brown hair that just screamed for her to run her hands through them, to his sensuous mouth she couldn't help but linger on longer- much to her surprise, and all the way down to his perfectly chiseled abs.
As much as she hated to admit this…they were right. He did look quite attractive and could put any model to shame.
His right shoulder was covered in bandages as well as other wounds that didn't look quite as bad. Wondering what had happened to him.
Finding her eyes slowly trailing back up, she was unaware of both girls sharing an amused look at her surprised reaction. Without even realizing it she began leaning forward wondering what he looked like without the sunglasses that shielded his eyes, and against her better judgment reached out to begin trying to pull them off.
Gasping in surprise she felt his hand instantly shoot out grasping her wrist tightly before she had the chance and made her, as well as the two girls let out a startled scream.
"Never quite been de one to let any fille get so touchy when I'm knocked out." He gave a sly grin before opening his eyes and letting them adjust to the overly bright florescent lights, thankful he still had his shades on before his blurry vision zeroed in on a pair of familiar emerald eyes staring back at him. "But on second thought…touch all you want."
His smooth drawl made her blink in bewilderment for a second before she remembered herself and roughly yanked her wrist free.
"So um…you're awake." Kitty awkwardly grinned as they watched him slowly sit up while carefully rolling his shoulder with a frown.
"Dat I am." He lowly chuckled which just made Kitty and Jubilee sheepishly giggle.
"Ah Mr. LeBeau you're awake." Hank jumped down from his position on the ceiling, closing one of the many books he'd been reading.
"Mr. McCoy you've here!" Jubilee jumped back in embarrassment.
"I am." He nodded while checking over his notes. "Although I must admit I'm surprised to see the three of you here. Especially since you're due for class any minute may I add."
"We-we were just wondering how our guest was doing that's all." Kitty quickly explained.
"Is that so?" Hank smiled sounding pleased that they were here. "Well, I preferred that next time you check with someone or at the very least come during visiting hours."
"Hahaha… we sure will." Jubilee forced an awkward laugh knowing they'd been caught down here.
Turning to his patient, Hank repositioned his glasses. "So, Mr. LeBeau how are we feeling? Were we able to get some more rest?"
Snapping their heads in Remy's direction, they could see a smirk spreading across his face as he continued to roll his shoulder and neck.
"Wait." Rogue lifted her hand with annoyance written all over her face. "You were awake? You were awake this whole time?"
"Oui." His smirk only began to grow when he saw the anger in her eyes.
Nodding Hank slowly placed his book down. "Mr. LeBeau has been awake for quite some time now, although I did insist on more rest."
"Well, this is awkward." Jubilee rubbed the back of her head realizing that they've been drooling out in the open while the person they were ogling was awake the whole time, while one of their teachers was in the same room with them.
Rogue's icy glare could've frozen him stiff but instead he focused on the slight blush trying to crawl its way up to her cheeks before she turned on her heels and began heading for the door.
"Well, we live, and we learn." Kitty quickly turned the same way since she wanted to be as far away right now as possible.
"How about we just go." Jubilee forced a small smile already beginning to walk backwards.
"Erm please do make sure to close the door on your way out." Hank called out just as he heard the door shut. Exhaling deeply, he returned his attention to Remy who seemed preoccupied with staring at the closed door. "As they say, curiosity is one of the most permanent and certain characteristics of a vigorous intellect." When he saw Remy's questioning raised brow Hank gave a gentle smile as he moved to check his blood pressure. "My apologies, seems we had some eager visitors here today."
"Apparently." Remy chuckled to himself before glancing back at the door. "Dey work here too?"
"I wouldn't call it work, but more like expanding one's mind." Hank said as he continued to check his vitals. "But indeed, they are students here at the great Xavier Institute."
"Hmm." Remy gave a slight nod before the doors opened once more which automatically drew his attention there. As soon as they opened, he saw Ororo walk in followed by the professor.
"Remy your awake." She quicky walked to stand by his side. "How are you feeling?"
"Never better." He smirked, eyeing the professor as he wheeled himself closer. "To what do I owe de pleasure?"
"Remy, we found you unconscious in the lobby." Ororo carefully stated fully aware of the smile leaving his face as he clenched his jaw and looked away. "Care to explain why?"
Clearing his throat the professor could sense his uneasiness and wheeled himself a little closer. "It's quite alright Gambit, we just want to make sure you're ok." He turned his head to see Hank finishing up his notes.
"Everything checks out fine." Hank smiled gently but Remy couldn't help but give an amused smile when his fangs glimmered with the overhead lights. "If my calculations are correct, we have nothing to worry about since Mr. LeBeau seems in tip top shape. Almost too well…" Hank frowned down at his notes.
"Dere see. Now if you'll excu-" he began to get up and get the rest of his clothes neatly folded and sitting on the chair nearby until he felt Ororo's hand on his shoulder.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Ororo's right. I wouldn't recommend leaving just now, at least not until that arm heals up." Hank frowned remembering it being the cause of the bleeding. "Which reminds me, you have quite the skill with the needle Mr. LeBeau. Although I must admit I was shocked to see all your hard work go to waste once your wound opened up. I'm quite curious to know how?"
Uncomfortably clearing his throat, he was fully aware of all the eyes on him now before shrugging nonchalantly. "Nothin' to worry about doc. I'm fine ain't I?"
"That seems to be the case." The professor quietly said as his eyes continued to be fixated on him before he gave a faint smile. "Gambit, when you're done here if you'll please accompany me back to my office. There's something I'd like to discuss if that's alright with you?"
He was about to decline but after giving it another thought he thought better of it. It would give him some time to figure out his next move, while at the same time hopefully avoiding any unnecessary questions and giving Storm something to stop glaring at him about. Maybe that way she would stop worrying about him so much. The last thing he wanted to do was anger the only person in this place he knew and trusted.
"D'accord, t'ink I can spare some time."
"Good." Ororo smugly grinned for the first time in a while.

"Ok now that was like SO embarrassing!" Kitty couldn't stop from hysterically laughing as they made it out of the elevator and into the hallway that was littered with students going to their next classes.
"I know, I can't believe you guys made me do that!" Jubilee playfully nudged them.
"We made you?!" They both guffaw at the other girl.
"That's right." She innocently hummed. "Why did you guys have to drag me all the way over there to see something so hot. Now I will never forgive you guys."
Snorting Rogue continued to walk down the hall shaking her head. "If you say so Jubes."
"Oh please." Jubilee jumped in front of her to block her way. "You were practically undressing the poor guy with your eyes Rogue! Well, more so…he had pants."
"Wait you checked?!" Kitty's eyes grew as she stared at a grinning Jubilee. "Oh Jubes."
"Jubilee!"
"What?"
Rogue gasped in shock before turning to see Kitty shaking her head in playful disapproval. "And ah was not doing that!"
"That poor poor man Rogue. I can't believe you." Jubilee dramatically exhaled before perking up. "Hey, did you hear his accent?!"
"I did." Kitty nodded while grinning.
"So sexy." Jubilee giggled with Kitty. "Right Rogue?"
"Despite what y'all might think. We have classes to get to." She shook her head with every intention to pass them to finally get to class.
"Ooh nice way of avoiding the question." Kitty patted her on the back. "Think we might see him again."
"I sure hope not." Rogue frowned in disgust, remembering the way he played them downstairs. And sure, maybe it was their fault for going down there in the first place, and maybe just maybe they shouldn't have been intruding on his sleep while dare she say it…checking him out. BUT that didn't give him the right to behave the way he did and make them feel worse than they already did.
"I hope we do." Jubilee overdramatically fanned her face.
"Hope we do what?" Bobby quizzically asked as he walked up to them with Piotr.
"Nothing." Rogue firmly said, which just made the other two girls giggle and Bobby frown.
"We were just talking about the guy from last night." Kitty explained. "We went to see how he was holding up."
"Really? when?" Bobby turned to look at Rogue.
"Just now." Jubilee said. "Doctor McCoy was there and said he was doing better."
"That is good to hear." Piort nodded.
"Why didn't you guys tell us? We would've gone with you." Bobby wrapped an arm around Rogues shoulder.
"Well, it was more of a scouting type thing-" Jubilee began to say before receiving pointed looks from both Kitty and Rogue.
"Scouting? Scouting for what?"
"You know what? Just ignore me. I didn't get much sleep last night." She forced a fake smile hoping he'd buy it.
"Alright…" Bobby tilted his head to stare at them before quickly blinking and shaking his head. "Anyway, do we know if he's staying?"
"I sure hope so." Jubilee slyly grinned. "He's pretty hot."
"Jubes, you think everyone's hot." Bobby pointedly raised his brows.
"Hey I do not! I have my standards you know." She argued back.
"Really? You were practically drooling all over yourself over the guy in the cereal commercial the other day." Bobby chuckled.
"Did you see how he was pouring the milk?!" Jubilee's eyes grew suggestively. "I'm SO buying that cereal."
"We best be off." Piotr chuckled along with them.
"Hey now guys don't laugh at me, I'm not the only one that thought the newbie looks good." She defended herself with a smile. "Besides she was the one almost doing all the touching!"
"Who?" Bobby asked when he calmed his laughter long enough to glance at her.
Pressing her lips together Jubilee forgot that sometimes in the heat of the moment she had no filter or self-control as she was met with Rogue's open mouth. 'She's so gonna kill me.' She thought to herself as she tried to mentally send her friend soothing loving apologetic thoughts wishing she was a telepath right now. 'I am and shall forever be your friend Rogue. So don't kill me. You love me.'
"Who?" Bobby asked again, keeping the smile on his face as he looked at Rogue to fill him in.
Gritting her teeth in an awkward smile, Rogue parted her mouth to speak until Kitty suddenly cut her off.
"Me! It was me." Kitty raised her hand as if she was in the classroom answering a question she had no answer to.
"You?" Piotr frowned along with Bobby. "Why?"
"I um…sometimes I like to do weird-naughty stuff that might seem…unethical?" she cringed listening to her own words. "I am just a normal teenager-yeah! I'm a normal hormonal teenager in the prime of my life looking to touch…strange man I guess…that happen to be sleeping-"
"Sleeping?" Both boys gaped as she continued to ramble on ignoring their growing redden faces.
"-Oh yes. I like a lot of weird stuff. I'm so bad…oh yeah you don't wanna know what I-"
"Ok Kitty!" Rogue quickly cut in standing in front of her before she made things any worse than they already were. "I think they get it now."
Biting her lip Jubilee felt as if she was about to burst any minute from laughter as tears began to form in the rim of her eyes.
"And you too Jubes." Rogue shot her a small glare to which she just nodded.
"Kitty?"
"Huh?" Peeking over Rogues shoulder she saw Bobby apprehensively lean forward to whisper.
"Did you get into the cookie jar again?" He worriedly asked and looked around to make sure no one else other than the five of them were listening. "You know how much Logan hates it when you do that."
"I…." she trailed off appalled at the question even though she knew he had a point of what that and coffee did to her.
"H-Hey Logan!" Rogue excitingly greeted and was thankful when the man walked close to them.
"Hey stripes, don't you guys have a class to go to?"
Nodding Rogue smiled. "You on your way out again?"
"Nope got a meeting I don't' want to go to." He momentarily paused to look back at them. As he slowly walked over, his eyes slightly narrowed, giving a faint sniff before raising his brow at the familiar scent. He didn't like it and what's worse was that other than the two girls the scent seemed to be getting stronger the closer he got to a certain girl. "You guys went to the infirmary?"
"Did anyone ever tell you that that's weird when you do that." Kitty mumbled forgetting about Logans highly developed sense of smell.
"We just went to check up on the guy Logan." Rogue admitted. "Nothin' else."
"Why, what's up?" Bobby asked with concern in his eyes. "Something we should know about?"
"Nothing just…" slowly exhaling through his nose he shrugged that uneasy feeling off before turning to continue on his way to the professor's office. "Get to class."
"Wait Logan!" Rogue quickly caught up to him while the others began walking into their classroom. "Is everything alright?"
"Of course." He said, taking a few more steps before turning to look down at her as she waited. "Just do me a favor will ya and stay away from that guy if you see him."
"Alright." She furrowed her brows as he gave a curt nod and continued on his way. It's not like he really needed him to tell her that since she was planning on it anyways. But she couldn't lie and say she wasn't the least bit puzzled by why he was so adamant about it. Not like she even spoke more than a few words to the guy anyways.
"Rogue come on you're gonna be late!" Bobby shouted, peeking his head out of the classroom with his hand to the doorknob.
"Coming"! she quickly jogged over before he closed the door after her.
-X-
By the time Logan made it down the familiar hall and to the professor's office he was somewhat surprised they had had already started without him. Not like it bothered him much anyway, knowing that this particular meeting involved a certain cajun he rather not wastes his time on. So, he wasn't going to complain as he quietly trudged on over to stand next to Warren who was quietly watching the exchange between the professor, Ororo and Scott who didn't seem to be in the best of moods.
'Maybe this meeting might not be so bad after all.' Logan thought to himself with slight amusement when he meets Scott's gaze.
"Ah Logan, so good of you to join us." The professor gave a slight smile as he saw the Wolverine give a curt nod before his eyes fixated on the back of Remy's head as the boy continued to lazily sit in the same chair as before, but this time Logan could see the disgruntled look on his face.
"What's with the impromptu meeting?"
"Oh, you're going to like this." Scott quietly bristled only loud enough for Logan to hear with his enhanced hearing.
"I have offered Gambit a place to stay for the moment."
"Come again?" Logan quickly raised his brows, completely being caught off guard as he unfolded his arms.
"We've offered Remy a place to stay, at least until we can figure out who was after him." Ororo said as she fully turned to face him. "But seems he has other plans."
"Good, you almost scared me there for a second. Don't do that 'Ro" Blinking a few times Logan couldn't help but feel relieved at her words as Warren gave a silent chuckle, and made sure to ignoring the way she stared disapprovingly at the both Logan and Remy.
Exhaling deeply, Remy adjusted his position in the chair that he came to hate so much already, and without thinking began to pull out a pack of cigarettes out of his coat pocket.
"Remy, not here." Ororo quietly scolded the way a mother would scold her child.
Clearing his throat the professor successfully managed to grab his attention. "Gambit I would rather much prefer it if you did not indulge in something like this, especially in the mansion, mansion grounds or around the other children."
"Children?" Remy raised an amused brow as he made it a point to turn and look at every face in the room until his eyes landed on a challenging Wolverine. "I see your point."
"Watch it." Logan growled when he saw Remy's sly grin growing before he turned back to the professor.
"Good thing I won't be here long den."
"Remy surely you can't be serious."
"Je le répète Stormy." He leaned his head sideways to make sure she was listening before turning his eyes to the professor. "As much as dis one appreciates all you've done good sir, dere's no need for me to linger around dis place anymore den I have to."
"Got that right." Logan mumbled.
"Besides." He smugly grinned, making himself more comfortable as he leaned back. "Dis one can take care of himself."
"I have no doubt about that." The professor linked his fingers together as he laid them on the desk. "But I must insist that until we know who your attackers are, that it would be best if you stayed here."
"If dat doesn't sound like un prisonnier den I don't know what does." He snickered with a bitter smile.
"Remy." Ororo rolled her eyes. "That's not what we're saying at all."
"Ororo's right, you're more than welcomed to come and go as you please." The professor said. "I only ask that you give us the chance to try and help."
"An' if dis one refuses?" He couldn't help but ask as amusement shone in the professors eyes.
"Then we won't hold you here. Just as long as Hank here gives you the ok to go."
"My arms fine." Remy nodded as he glanced out the window to hear kids laughing and a kite blowing in the bright blue sky. "Dis a school here, oui?" Upon seeing the professor nod he quickly shook his head as he spoke. "I can't stay here."
"Why not?" Hank spoke up from his position by the window as he turned. "This school is always open to those in need of being accepted and a safe haven for all mutants."
"I understand your reluctance in joining us, therefore I will not force this upon you. Stay however long you wish Mr-Gambit." The professor smiled. "However, if you do wish to stay you must understand that above all else the students as well as the rest of the faculty is my top concern, and we must be sure to keep them safe. So, we would need you to tell us everything you know."
"Mean no harm here sir." He mumbled before looking up and forcing a carefree smile. "Or causin' any more trouble dan I have to."
"Good. So you'll accept?"
"Never said dat." He gave a slight shake of his head. "But I am willing to listen an' see what you all have to offer."
"Woah professor…" Logan shot up afraid of where this conversation was going and could tell by the look on Scotts face that he was already well aware too. "This kid-"
"Dis kid has a name Logan." Remy glanced down with a cocky grin before meeting his menacing eyes. "Or don't you remember?"
With the hint of bravado coming off this guy Logan could tell he enjoyed pushing his limits, and at this rate Logan was eager to show him exactly what would happen if he was pushed too far.
"Alright." Logan confidently nodded making sure there was no way in hell he'd let this guy stay. "Gumbo here is responsible for frying all our surveillance cameras as well as the security around the mansion."
"Dat was all de security systems you have? Dis is a joke, right?" Remy chuckled thinking that his was indeed a joke until he saw the disapproving frown on the older man's face.
"Who do you think had to stay up all night to guard this place?" Logan dangerously glared as Remy switched between him and the professor.
"You're not kidding are you…"
Shaking his head the professor saw Remy instantly tense.
"I can pay for dat." Remy quickly said awkwardly fidgeting in his seat.
"That's quite alright." The professor gave a tight-lipped smile watching him now somewhat relax at his statement. "Now Gambit if you don't mind me asking… how old you are."
"Ole enough." Remy grinned with such cockiness that Logan could practically see it surrounding this guy.
"He's eighteen." Storm amusingly shook her head already being used to this and gave a faint smile when her longtime friend narrowed his eyes at her.
"Ahh so practically still in diapers." Logan quietly muttered which earned him a smile from Warren and a quick glare from Remy.
"And schooling?" Hank asked next.
"Schoolin'?" He raised a confused brow.
"Well surely a young man quite such as yourself has already completed his high school education no less thought about his goals afterwards?"
Amusingly scoffing, Remy's grin only widened as he turned to the doctor. "Plenty of things to learn out dere doc."
"So, you haven't had any proper schooling?" The professor reiterated.
"Never really been fond of schoolin'." He spoke as he shook his head. If truth be told he had wanted to go to school, but while being under the Thieves Guild it only gave him little time for anything else. So, when one day he asked Jean Luc about it, the leader of the Thieves guild made sure to assign someone to him, whether it was Tante Mattie or another member to help with home schooling which did help to try and balance the two. But he wasn't going to divulge any of that information with these people regardless of them trying to help.
"Is that so?" The professor's lip twitch when he saw Remy only shrug.
"Plenty of other things I specialize in."
"Remy." Ororo's warning tone made him smugly look sideways at her.
"Such as?"
"Fine arts…" He proudly began gesturing around the room.
"My word, you're a collector?" Hank raised an inquired brow.
"You could say dat." He proudly grinned.
"Ahem…" Ororo cleared her throat hoping to move away from this topic and into the important question. "What are we thinking professor? School?"
"Well-"
"Woah hold on a damn minute. I ain't doin' no schoolin'." Quickly raising his hand to protest, Remy brushed past Storms scolding expression. "Now I plan on earin' my keep while I'm here, but I don't plan on stayin' here long. So dere's no way dis one's signin' up for no school."
"What will you be doing then?" Ororo tried to suppress her smile when she saw him quickly trying to come up with a respond.
"Teach!" he perked up as if it was the obvious choice.
"Pardon?" Hank quizzically frowned.
"Teach." Remy repeated while placing his hands on either side of him in a dramatic gesture. "Dis one could be a great teacher."
"Oh." Hank quickly blinked while staring down at the professor with Ororo covering her mouth to hide her smile. "Charles what do you think?"
With a hint of a smile Professor Xavier leaned forward with his elbows resting on his desk. "Teacher of…?"
"Français!"
"Very well." The professor hummed in thought before quickly nodding, making both Hank and Ororo snap around to look at him as if he just grew an extra head. "Perhaps after some schooling if you're still willing to stick around, then I will consider adding you to the faculty Gambit."
And just like that Remy's smug smile slowly faded as he saw the consequences of his decision in coming here already made up in the professor's growing smile. "Merde…"
"Chuck?" Logan's eyes widen when he recognizes the determined expression on the bald man's face.
"Look…" Remy nervously licked his lips before a disbelieving smile grazed his lips. "As much as I appreciate all de help an' hospitality you folks have shown me. You have no way of keepin' me here."
"You're quite correct." The professor replied in his gentle English accent without protest. "As I've said before Gambit, you're always welcome to leave. But whether you decide to stay here or not that's completely up to you." When he saw Remy begin to ponder his offer he confidently smiled. "So, it's settled then." Professor Xavier began to wheel himself towards the door. "I already have a room ready for you and you'll start your classes along with the rest of your peers tomorrow bright and early."
"What?!"
"Professor you can't be serious?!" Both Remy and Logan jumped to their feet.
"Is there a problem?" The professor's gentle smile made it difficult to argue back, so they both reluctantly looked away from each other.
After a brief silence Remy slowly opened his mouth to speak. "A request really if you don't mind…" He felt his shoulders drop knowing there wasn't much to do at the moment. Usually, he wouldn't even bother to ask since in his mind he could still pretty much get or do whatever the hell he wanted, but they were right. This was a different time with who knows what else waiting out there for him, and it would definitely take some time to adjust. Frowning he thought back on all the people he left behind. "I need to go home."
"Of course." The professor nodded in understanding knowing it would only be natural in his situation. "I would however advice you to wait until we know more." When the professor didn't hear any arguments from him, he patiently tilted his head sensing something else on his mind. "Is there…anything else?"
Nodding Remy glanced around at the others before addressing the professor. "I want one of dem small phone things."
"A cell phone?" Warren confusingly frowned.
"Yeah!" Remy snapped his finger in Warrens direction making all eyes turn to the winged mutant. "One of those."
"Alright, if that's all Logan and Ororo will show you to your quarters." The professor let Storm open the door for him as he spoke over his shoulder. "Welcome to my school Gambit, or as the student's affectionately like to call it…Mutant high."
