Chapter 15

As Daniel ran through the facility, one group of soldiers were fighting another group. Meanwhile, Mal0 appeared in a control room and started to hack the controls. "Freeze!" says the Foundation soldiers. "Don't shoot! I'm not one of them!" says Daniel. "Identity yourself!" "My name is Daniel Anderson!"

The Foundation soldiers lowered their weapons and let Daniel approach them. "Mr Anderson? We received an anonymous message saying that you needed help. Are you ok?" "Yeah, I'm good. But we need to get out now." "Why?" In the control room, Mal0 presses a button and disappears. "Self destruct system activated. Five minutes until detonation."

Daniel points at a speaker and says: "That's why." The Foundation soldiers looked at each other, then they turned around and ran away. Daniel immediately ran after them, the Insurgency soldiers looked at each other and started to chant a strange language. The Foundation soldiers and Daniel ran into a elevator and it went up.

When it reached the surface, they all ran out of it. Meanwhile, Mal0 was collecting items from the Chaos Insurgency. She then saw a living ball of orange slime in a jar. It had eyes, a mouth and tentacles. She picked it up and disappeared before the whole facility exploded. The Foundation soldiers and Daniel were standing next to some trucks.

Daniel looks up at the sky and says: "What the hell? What's going on?" The soldiers looked up and they all saw the sky turning from blue, to a crimson red. Suddenly, the ground shook as a crimson red crack appears in the floor. A shadow began to emerge out of the crack. It grew to become a giant figure.

It was wearing armour in the shade of blood, a crown of antlers, it had razor sharp claws on it's hands and a dozen yellow eyes were staring at the ground. "No. It can't be..." "What is that thing?" says Daniel. One of the soldiers gulped before saying: "The Scarlet King." Suddenly, Mal0 appeared on it's shoulder and says: "Hey! Big guy!"

The Scarlet King looked at Mal0, she holds up the orange ball of slime and places it on his shoulder. "That's SCP 1471! And she's got SCP 999!" says one of the soldiers. The ball of slime wrapped it's tentacles around the giant arm, as The Scarlet King reached and grabbed Mal0. "Hey asshole! Leave her alone!" says Daniel.

The Scarlet King looked at Daniel and holds up Mal0. "You want this?" "Yes! Let her go, now!" "Well then, be careful what you wish for." Suddenly, The Scarlet King dropped Mal0 and Daniel watched as she fell, and crashed on top of a truck. "Mal0!" A thunderous laugh was heard from the giant. The soldiers dropped their weapons and accepted defeat.

However, the laughing didn't stop. SCP 999 was tickling The Scarlet King. "Let go of me you child!" Then, the giant's hand was starting to disappear. "What's happening?" says Daniel. "Well would you look at that. The Scarlet King is being tickled to death!" says one of the solders. The Scarlet King tried to remove 999, but there was nothing he could do.

Eventually, all that was left was his head. After a huge scream, The Scarlet King disappeared into thin air. 999 fell down and landed on the floor. The crack in the floor repaired itself and the sky turned blue again. Whilst the soldiers were celebrating, Daniel ran over to the truck that Mal0 fell on.

She was in the front passenger seat and the GPS was turned on. "Mal0? Are you okay?" says Daniel. Mal0 pointed at the GPS and says: "Home. Take me home, please?" She then closed her eyes and went limp. Daniel looked at the soldiers, before getting in the truck. He starts it up and drives off as quick as he could.

The soldiers noticed and tried to flag him down, but Daniel drove past them. He was scared for Mal0's life, so he decided it was time to go home.
