Trying to Smash the Ice Boy!
"So, here we are." Shoto said.
"And only one of us can win." Izuku responded.
Katsuki looks down to see that this fight is going to be an intense one, hard and all given how much that damn nerd has improved since their first day in UA. He doesn't really care which one of them wins, he just hopes that he ca still fight in the final round after he beats the blonde bimbo.
"Tokoyami. Weiss. How do you think this match will go?" Tenya asked.
"It depends on whether or not Midoriya is able to get in close to him." Fumikage answered.
"That's true, Izuku could avoid the ice using his speed to get around, but that is if he could move fast enough to before Shoto can make an ice wall to protect himself and I'm not sure if Izuku would be able to punch through given his current power output." Weiss shared her thoughts.
"I'm not too worried, Izuku can beat up any ice that the candy cane guy throws at him!" Yang believed strongly as she miles down at Izuku.
(Unknown Location)
The scene shows of a small bedroom being dark and the only source of light is a TV screen showing the broadcast of the UA Sports Festival, and one showing Izuku vs Shoto.
"Pay close attention to them, Tomura Shigaraki. These two could prove to be formidable obstacles to you one day." A man said.
"I'm not worried about a couple of kids." Tomura said while scratching his neck.
"Still, can't believe that kid who broke himself when I came back to this world, and those girls tagged along, has improved this much! This could be a little harder than I thought." Black-Hole Heart commented.
"Which is why we are watching this, old friend. To learn what they can do in a fight such as this." The man pointed out.
"Sure, whatever you say… All for One!" Black-Hole Heart smirked.
(Back at the Stadium)
Everyone within the stadium, even to those that are watching this from outside on the big TV and those watching the event happening from home, are waiting for the fight to begin while wondering how this will go down.
"Oh, right! Those two students tried to save you at the USJ, didn't they?" Thirteen asked Toshinori.
"Yeah." Toshinori nodded, remembering how it was back then.
(Flashback)
The first scene shows All Might being grabbed by a large muscular black man with a bird head that the brain is exposed called a Nomu, and the right side of Nomu's body got covered in ice by Shoto.
"Although, I think it was our four new students that got saved by Midoriya at the last moment when that villain tried to kill them." Toshinori mentioned.
Next scene of the flashback shows Izuku coming in right in front of Black-Hole Heart and threw that punch sending him toward the villains as they were forced to escape.
(Flashback End)
"But even so, they both have such an intense vibe about them." Toshinori commented.
Endeavor is somewhere leaning his back against a wall and looking down at the fight that is about to happen, he better hope to see Shoto using his fire in this fight otherwise this might've been a waste of time for him.
Izuku can still remember what happened with Shoto's mom and what he is determined to do.
"I remember she called my left side unbearable, before she poured boiling water on my face. Show my old man what I was capable of doing. Without having to replay on his damned fire Quirk. I'm going to show him that I reject his power, and I can take first place without using it.
Thinking on them more, Izuku is more determined to beat Shoto and help him too.
"I can't lose this either. I owe it to everyone who's supported me to try my best. I will beat you, as myself and not a coward who hides behind the hatred of his own father." Izuku declared with eyes of determination.
Weiss looks at Shoto, still thinking about the talk he had with Izuku and how she decided to step in to give him a scolding for being an idea.
"(I'm not sure if he took my words entirely, but I still hope that'll at least help him a little.)" Weiss thought concerned.
(Flashback)
We cut to a scene that appeared to be a younger and little Shoto Todoroki crying hard and holding tight on a woman that may as well be his mom.'
"But honey, you do still wanna be a hero, don't you?" Shoto's mom asked as she stroke his head.
"Just remember, stay true to yourself." Shoto's mom advised with a smile.
"I had forgotten so much of what she said to me those days." Shoto said to himself.
(Flashback End)
"It's the first match of the second round! Both of the hero-in-training have been frontrunners in the Sports Festival!" Present Mic asked as he gets excited too.
"(He'll start with an ice attack.)" Izuku thought predicted what Shoto is going to do.
"(I can't allow him to use that power of his too much.)" Shoto thought knew he'd be in big trouble if Izuku hits him with a powerful strike.
"But which one of these rivals will advance to the next round?" Present Mic asked.
"(So, as soon as we start-)" Izuku and Shoto prepare themselves as a moment before the fight can start.
"Prepare for… Midoriya vs Todoroki! Begin!" Present Mic shouted.
(Music: Inferno, Promare OST)
"Now…" Shoto unleashed his ice attack immediately at the start of the match as the cold wave charges right at Izuku hoping to freeze him in place.
"Time to move!" Izuku activated Full Cowling and charged at Shoto's ice attack.
"(I probably could break through with a smash, but I shouldn't hurt myself just yet. First, I need to get in close.)" Izuku thought reminded himself to be careful.
Izuku started to channel 10% of One for All but only for a second or two to make himself jump high over the ice attack and run on top right for Shoto, going back down to 8% because he doesn't want to tire himself out because he is still use to 10%.
"No fucking way?!" Denki and Minoru gasped.
"I can't believe he actually did that!" Momo was shocked as well.
"I'm not sure what thoughts went through his head, but I am loving it!" Yang smiled.
"Damn, I thought for sure Midoriya was gonna use a wind blast to break the ice!" Rikido was amazed by the stunt his classmate just pulled.
"That's probably what Shoto thought too, thinking Izuku would attack with a wind blast only for Izuku to do something else entirely and went charging in." Weiss stated.
"Wow! As soon as the fight start, Todoroki was going for a strong attack with his ice to hit Midoriya only for him to just jump on top of the ice! What a crazy move!" Present Mic commented shock.
"(He did what?!)" Shoto thought surprised.
But that little distraction got Izuku a little opening for him to charge at him superfast to land a punch across the face.
"And Midoriya lands the first hit on Todoroki!" Present Mic gasped.
"It looks like Midoriya was about to do something unpredictable that Todoroki wasn't prepared for, good use of his opponent's move against him." Aizawa said.
Izuku threw another punch in the stomach sending Shoto back about ten feet as he stops himself with his ice while at the same time sending an ice wave attack making Izuku jump back.
"Damn, that really hurt." Shoto groaned a little.
"I didn't think Midoriya would pull off a stunt like that, guess he must be trying to be unpredictable." Shoto guessed.
"(He had no way of knowing what powerful move Young Todoroki's attack was going to be, so he charged in and increased his power output just a little bit to dodge and run on the ice to get the drop on him.)" Toshinori thought took note of Izuku's strategy.
"(I'm glad the girls were able to help him with his training on controlling One for All better, because if they hadn't then Midoriya would end up using 100% that would also break his body.)" Toshinori thought relieved, like the Gods have delivered the girls to this world for a purpose.
Shoto launches another ice wave that Izuku was able to dodge and sprint around for a bit then charges forward to throw one strong punch at him, but Shoto was able to make a wall to block it.
When the punch lands, it didn't break through entirely but it did cause the ice to crack on both sides.
"(Looks like I can't break through Todoroki's ice with this level of strength after all.)" Izuku thought figured and clenches his fist.
"(At least not with just one punch!)" Izuku thought threw another punch and a third punch that broke through.
However, Shoto had already backed away from the spot and attacks with another wave of ice that barely for Izuku as he moves out of the way and saw he got some little bit of ice on his arm.
"(I don't know much about Todoroki's fighting style. His attacks are so fast that it's hard to collect data on him. Even though I was able to get some hits in, I need to be on the lookout for any openings.)" Izuku thought knew he still need to be cautious.
"(From how he stopped himself with his ice after my punch, that's probably how he plans to keep from being blown out of bounds by my smashes. Guess that was his plan for one wind attack as well.)" Izuku thought looked at his fingers.
"Let's continue." Shoto said.
Izuku gasps a little that Shoto launches another ice attack as he moves around to dodge it, but the icy boy isn't done as he continues sending ice after ice against his opponent.
"(He's not lighting up. He's really trying to get me with his ice!)" Izuku thought saw what his opponent is trying to do.
"I heard of people giving others the cold shoulder before, this looks more like the cold tackle." Yang commented.
"Shoto is trying everything he could to use his ice in defeating Izuku like trying to wear him down." Blake stated.
"Oh man, I'm worried for Izuku, but I'm also amazes with how Shoto can use his Quirk so many times over like how he covered half the stadium in ice in his fight with Hanta!" Ruby mentioned that fight.
"Sheesh, try putting sault in my wounds." Hanta chuckled a little sad.
"It's not just Todoroki with the powerful Quirk, but Bakguo too with his Explosion that could be a match for Todoroki's ice." Eijiro panted Katsuki's shoulder much to his annoyance.
"I'll fucking kill you." Katsuki threatened.
"Yeah, sure." Eijiro chuckled.
"But seriously… It's crazy how you and Todoroki both have moves that blast the whole stadium! Must be pretty nice!" Eijiro frustrated a little of his two classmates having such powerful Quirks.
"Plus, you don't have to pause between attacks." Hanta added with a slight glare.
"Wow, you must think you're really smart if you believe that." Weiss said sarcastically.
"Huh, what's with the attitude?" Hanta was surprised that Weiss is mocking him with that tone.
"She's saying that it's not as easy as you think, ya morons." Katsuki said.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"If you overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart. If you sprint too much, you run out of breath." Katsuki said as he looks down at his hand.
"(We all have a limit to how much power we can produce. That's why I designed my costume the way I did, so I'd be able to fire off bigger blasts than my body usually allows me to.)" Katsuki thought remembered how his first use of the gauntlets was like back in combat training.
"Quirks are physical abilities too. They can get worn out. You can't just use them nonstop." Katsuki pointed out.
"It makes sense when you put it that way." Eijiro understood this now.
"Exactly, which is what Izuku is trying to do right now. Trying to make Shoto overexert him from his ice Quirk." Weiss nodded.
"But wouldn't the same be said about Midoriya? Sure, he can control his Quirk better now, but he'll also get worn out if this goes on for too long." Kyoka asked as she sits behind Katsuki.
"Which means it'll be…" Blake looked back at the fight.
"Let see which one of us has the endurance to keep using our Quirks!" Izuku taunted Shoto.
"That won't be a problem because I'll end this quickly!" Shoto fired another ice wave.
Izuku moves to the side as he charges straight for Shoto trying to get in close again with his speed to throw a punch in the face again, then goes for a shoulder throw sending him flying about fifteen feet as he rolls on the ground.
Then just as Shoto gets back up, Izuku was already close to him for land another punch on him and then Izuku starts sprinting around to land some more punches on him, but that would only be for a moment as Shoto slide away.
"(He's not going to stop until he knocks me over and out of the ring.)" Shoto thought knew he has to do something and quick.
"(When he comes in close again, I'll spread my ice all around to make him fall back all the way out of the ring.)" Shoto thought planned.
Shoto sees Izuku coming at him fast to attack only and ready himself once he gets in close.
However, Izuku immediately stops himself once he was just about five feet away that confuses Shoto on why he stopped though quickly saw his two fingers glowing causing his eyes to widen.
"Delaware Smash!" Izuku fired a powerful air pressure blast right at Shoto in the face.
The force of the powerful blast that was hit to him very close was more than Shoto expected as he was caught off guard for a second there, but he was able to form ice behind him to stop himself from push off the edge of the ring while the wind attack carries the coldness from the ice to the audience.
"Whoa! So cold!" A female hero gasped.
"Feels like this wind is gonna freeze me solid!" The JA-yellow cape hero commented.
"(Damn it, he almost got me by injuring himself.)" Shoto thought groaned.
"But even so, looks like I manage to get one you too." Shoto looked over to see that Izuku is holding his left side that is covered in a little ice.
"(I can't believe it!)" Izuku thought shocked.
(Flashback)
Izuku was just about to fire his Delaware Smash onto Shoto, but the ice boy was able to form an ice attack almost at the exact same time that landed on Izuku leaving that little ice.
"(He was able to get his attack in on me the moment I unleashed my smash!)" Izuku thought realized.
Izuku launched his attack on Shoto sending him back.
(Flashback End)
"Hope you know that I'm dead serious about winning." Shoto glared.
"(It's not just that his Quirk is powerful. His judgement, mobility, reasoning… All of his abilities… are incredible!)" Izuku thought realized in shock.
"That kid's already better than the average pro." One hero was shocked.
"Guess that's what you can expect from the son of the number two hero." Another hero said.
"Oh shit! Izuku was so close!" Yang cursed.
"Shoto is a lot more capable when dealing with something of equal power than we gave him credit for." Weiss admitted.
"Yeah, if he was back in Remnant than he would've TOTALLY wiped the floor with us." Ruby nodded.
"Remnant? Is that the name of your old school?" Hanta asked.
That question causes Ruby to flinch in realization that she almost slipped up the secret out as her team gave her glare, she can feel them calling her an idiot in their minds.
"Yeah, yeah, Remnant High School! That was the name! Great school, but we couldn't go back because of the villain, and they couldn't send any help to get us back! So, huh, we transferred here!" Ruby lied the best she could.
"Right, the villain you four came out after, I forgot about him." Eijiro remembered.
"(Come on, Izuku! You gotta win this!)" Yang thought preyed for Izuku to beat Shoto. She knows that Izuku can win here if he can just land one hit that can end the fight.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Oh, it looks like this fight is going to be harder for Izuku than he thought as despite being stronger than his canon counterpart, Shoto is still able to fight on pretty well and hold himself to stay in the fight with his ice, so far.
