Mist and Maelstroms: Chapter 26
With Naruto and Suigetsu
Suigetsu was looking on in anger as Naruto was now inside his shark age mode 'unacceptable' Suigetsu thought 'first welding the executioner's blade, then claiming to be a 7 swordsman; now he's using a sage mode that hasn't been seen in over 30 years' he thought angrily. "Damn you" Suigetsu said making Naruto focus on him "your very existence is an insult to all 7 swordsmen; you shouldn't be allowed to live" he said.
Naruto scoffed and smirked "What's wrong water boy" Naruto said "you jealous or something; pissed that a Konoha ninja became a 7 swordsman before you" he said and Suigetsu growled in anger. "Oh, shit I just realized that Kisame mentioned you before" Naruto said snapping his fingers "yeah I remember; you wanted to imitate your brother Mangetsu, but you crapped the bed on your trials right, am I close" he said. Naruto had to duck as Suigetsu launched the Nuibari at Naruto's head.
"Shut up asshole" Suigetsu said "when I'm done with you there will be nothing left for them to bury" he shouted as he ran at Naruto as he brought back the sword to him. Naruto clutching his sword charged at Suigetsu.
"Bring it on" Naruto said as he closed the distance between him and Suigetsu; Naruto used the water on the ground to commence his attack. Naruto manipulated the water and made it cover his blade; the water formed along the swords edge and Naruto began his assault.
Naruto swung his sword at Suigetsu and Suigetsu didn't attempt to dodge as he was confident in his body's abilities; however, it wasn't until he heard buzzing and saw Naruto's blade vibrating. Suigetsu tried to jump to the side but was hit by the sword on his right side.
Suigetsu screamed in pain as he jumped away to gain some distance from Naruto; Suigetsu looked down and saw a sight that shook him. Suigetsu's body was damaged and there was a 7-inch-long gash on his body; but what shocked him most was his body was reforming at a slower rate than usual.
'Looks like what I saw from Omoi wasn't a coincidence' Naruto thought 'he's impervious to physical attacks but his water body isn't as impervious as he thinks' he thought. 'Elemental attacks can hurt him' Naruto thought as he got back into a stance "what's wrong; giving up already" he said.
Suigetsu's wound healed and he glared at Naruto "you're a fucking dead man" Suigetsu shouted as he got his sword ready and charged at Naruto.
With Kurama
Kurama ran along the ground on all fours towards Jugo who was running at him at full speed; Jugo cocked back his fist and sent a punch down towards Kurama. Kurama seeing the punch come down towards him jumped to the side and attacked Jugo; Kurama jumped towards Jugo with both of his claws in front of him.
Kurama sunk his claws into Jugo's shoulders digging in deep and grabbing a hold of him; Kurama proceeded to do a flip over Jugo's head and got behind him in a crouch. Kurama spun around and aimed his claw at Jugo's Achilles tendon; Kurama slashed through the tendon making Jugo scream in pain. Jugo fell to a knee and Kurama pressed on his attack; Kurama jumped onto Jugo's back and began to slash and claw at Jugo.
Jugo however reached behind himself and grabbed Kurama; Jugo grabbed Kurama with both hand and lifted him above his head. Jugo proceeded to bring Kurama down on his knee back first; Kurama hit the knee and a loud snap indicating Jugo broke Kurama's spine.
Jugo proceeded to slam Kurama down onto the ground and began to rapidly punch and kick him; the assault from Jugo was so intense that the ground began to crack and shake from the impact. Jugo kept this up until an explosion happened right in front of him sending him flying away; Jugo landed a few dozen yards away and looked at the crater where Kurama was just at.
Kurama closed his mouth as smoke poured out of it 'I never thought I'd have to use a mini-Biju bomb against a single human' Kurama thought; Kurama's twisted and broken body began to snap and reset itself. Kurama's twisted spine healed itself and he sat up 'but he's no normal human though' Kurama thought as he out stretched his right hand 'lets see if this will work' he thought.
Kurama began to focus his chakra in his hand until formed it into a red rasengan 'huh looks like all that time training with that brat paid off; and not bad for my first time either' he thought with a smile. Jugo let out a ground shaking roar as he charged at Kurama; Kurama with his red rasengan charged as well and got ready to launch his attack.
Jugo sent a punch towards Kurama and Kurama put hit red rasengan forward to counter it; the rasengan hit Jugo's fist and the result was devastating. Kurama's rasengan but through Jugo's fist as Kurama's momentum brought him up Jugo's arm; Kurama's rasengan cut through Jugo's arm cutting it in half as he landed behind him.
Jugo roared in pain as he clutched his mangled arm and Kurama took this opportunity to finish the fight; Kurama rushed forward and jumped onto Jugo's shoulders and sunk his claws into his neck. Kurama began to twist and turn Jugo's head and Jugo tried to resist by trying to swat Kurama off but to no avail.
Kurama began to pull up on Jugo's head as blood began to spray and flesh began to stretch; with one final pull Kurama got his desired outcome.
Kurama ripped Jugo's head off and jumped off his body as it fell to the ground; Kurama held onto Jugo's head as the curse mark began to fade until Jugo looked human again. Kurama held up the head in victory as he let out a primal scream.
With Hinata and Karin
Hinata and Karin were both rushing to where they heard the explosion as they heard a loud animalistic scream echo through the air.
"What is that" Hinata asked worried "it's… other worldly" she said and Karin nodded.
"I'm sure Fox has everything handled" Karin said from behind her mask 'oh man I hope it's not too bad; we have to keep a low profile for a reason' Karin thought.
As Karin and Hinata both entered the clearing Karin gawked from behind her mask while Hinata turned red and covered her eyes. Kurama was completely naked, covered in blood and holding the severed head of Jugo; Kurama's cloak faded away just before Hinata and Karin arrived and he didn't realize his cloak burned away his cloths.
Kurama turned around and saw both Karin and Hinata standing a few yards away and smiled "hey babe, you made it; look I beat him, he was by far my second strongest opponent" Kurama said oblivious to everything.
"Oh my god; are you kidding me" Karin shouted in embarrassment "put on some cloths damnit; you can't just… expose yourself like that, especially in front of Hinata" Karin said pointing at the shy Hyuga girl.
"Oh, I get it; you're jealous" Kurama said with a smirk "you just don't want another woman to see my perfect bod- "Kurama began until he had to dodge a chain sent at him by Karin.
"Put on some cloths now; or so help me god I will whip you until we get to Konoha" Kari shouted and Kurama nodded nervously.
"Ok, ok just not the chains ok" Kurama begged as Karin threw him a scroll with an extra set of cloths for Kurama "damn angry red head, ruining all my fun" Kurama mumbled.
"What was that" Karin said dangerously.
"Nothing my love" Kurama said as he rushed behind a tree to get dressed.
"Hinata are you ok" Karin asked and Hinata nodded.
"He's very… crude" Hinata said and Karin sighed.
"Yeah, I know" Karin said as he turned around "but damn it; I still love him… for some weird ass reason" Karin said.
With Watasumi and Omoi
Watasumi and Omoi were running through the forest trying to find the seal they needed to find in order to disable the barrier; as they ran through the woods Watasumi looked back in the direction where they left Naruto to fight Suigetsu.
"He'll be fine Watasumi" Omoi said looking at the worried girl "I may not have known him that long but I can tell he can handle himself" he said and Watasumi looked back at him with a expression that showed no worry.
"Oh, I'm not worried" Watasumi said making Omoi curious "I'm just wondering what is taking him so long; he should've joined us by now" she said and Omoi spoke.
"Why do you say that" Omoi said and Watasumi explained.
"Naruto was prepping to use his shark sage mode" Watasumi said "it can power up the user by 100 percent while in or surrounded by water; but on dry land it will only power him up by 50 percent or so" she said and Omoi nodded in understanding.
"Really; that's pretty neat" Omoi said and Watasumi nodded; as they ran through the woods Omoi spoke up "hey look" Omoi said pointing to a tree. On the tree was the seal they were looking for "jackpot" he said as he and Watasumi walked ran over and Omoi reached out to grab the seal "now then let's- "Omoi began as he grabbed the seal.
The next thing Omoi knew he was sent flying back into Watasumi being thrown by and electric current; both Omoi and Watasumi hit a tree in a smoking pile as both groaned as they got up.
"What the shit was that" Omoi shouted; he turned around and helped Watasumi get up "are you ok" Omoi asked and Watasumi nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine" Watasumi said as they both got to their feet "looks like they booby trapped the seal; we'll have to get past it somehow" she said rubbing her chin. "Hmmm… maybe if we use jutsu's to weaken it we can destroy it" Watasumi said and Omoi nodded.
"Ok then… ladies first" Omoi said stepping to the side.
"I'm a shark not a 'lady'" Watasumi said making Omoi sweat drop; Watasumi went through hand signs 'Water Style: Water bullets' Watasumi fired a volley of water bullets at the seal. The water bullets were destroyed when they touched the seal and she groaned "darn" she whined "oh well one jutsu down; 9 more to go" she said.
"Well, I have like 6 jutsu at my disposal; so let me go after this next one" Omoi said and Watasumi nodded; Watasumi went through hand signs once more as she got ready to try and destroy the seal once more.
With Naruto and Suigetsu
Naruto and Suigetsu were clashing blades with both trying to gain the upper edge; Naruto was using his executioner's blade's weight and length in order to keep Suigetsu on the back foot. Suigetsu's Nuibari was to light to effectively block a direct strike so he had to parry each blow to a different direction.
Suigetsu however was using his swords thin profile and lighter weight to strike at Naruto using speed and agility to fight back.
Naruto slashed at Suigetsu's head with his sword, still buzzing from the water on the blades edge; Suigetsu ducked under the massive sword and sent a stab towards Naruto's head in an attempt end the fight.
Naruto tilted his head to the side letting the blade pass his head; Naruto doing a spin on his heel performed a sweeping kick on Suigetsu. Naruto foot made contact with Suigetsu's leg turning the leg to water and making him lose his balance; Naruto took the opportunity to attack and gripped his sword ready to strike.
Naruto swung his sword at Suigetsu cutting him in half sending his top half flying across the field into a tree; Suigetsu hit the tree feeling the pain from the strike crawl up his body. While for a regular person this would be a death blow for Suigetsu this was nothing more than a superficial wound; however, Suigetsu was having a hard time regenerating his lower half and Naruto wasn't letting up.
Naruto charged at Suigetsu sword at the ready and Suigetsu got ready to counter attack; Suigetsu threw the Nuibari at Naruto using the thread in order to control it.
Naruto saw the sword coming towards him and he put his sword in front of him in order to block the incoming attack; however, Suigetsu used the thread to change the trajectory in order to send the sword to the ground. The sword ricocheted off the ground and went to Naruto at an angle to which Naruto could not block it; the sword came up and slashed Naruto across the chest causing his blood to spray.
"Gah you asshole" Naruto shouted as he jumped away and clutched his chest to staunch the blood; Naruto looked down and saw he had a gash across his chest running from his lower left from upper right "You're gonna pay for that you dick" he shouted.
"Fuck you blondie" Suigetsu shouted back getting up on his newly reformed legs "have you ever been cut in half; that hurt like a motherfucker" he shouted.
"It's what you deserve" Naruto shouted pointing a finger at him "you joined a terrorist organization; so, you deserve what's coming to you" he said and Suigetsu scowled.
"Bring it asshole" Suigetsu shouted.
"Let's go prick" Naruto shouted back; both Naruto and Suigetsu charged at each other with a roar as they continued their battle.
With Watasumi and Omoi
Watasumi and Omoi were both going through hand signs at the same time "are you ready" Watasumi said and Omoi nodded.
"Yeah let's do it" Omoi said as hey both stopped on a different hand sign.
'Water style: Water cannon' Watasumi thought.
'Lighning Style: Static strings' Omoi thought.
Watasumi fired a stream of water at the seal and Omoi created lightning strings in order to charge the water; the combination jutsu hit the seal on the tree and sparks began to fly everywhere. After a few seconds the seal caught on fire and began to burn.
"We did it" Watasumi said with a smile and a hop.
With Darui, Karui, Samui and Shino
Darui, Karui, Samui and Shino all looked on at the barrier blocking the entrance to the cave deactivate and the entrance was wide open "ok everyone let's go" Darui said. Darui led the charge into the cave with Samui, Karui and Shino following him from behind; Darui continued to run through the cave as he followed the straight path.
After running for a few minutes Darui and the others entered a wide cavern where there was a statue of some creature and 2 hands appearing out of the ground; on 6 of the fingers there were holograms of several figures.
In the middle of them was Yugito floating in the air as chakra was being sucked out of her; Darui seeing red went through hand signs 'Lightning Style: Black Panther'. Darui created a black panther made out of black lightning and sent it towards the 2 hands with the holograms.
The lightning panther smashed through the hands causing the holograms to disappear.
With Pein, Konan, Zetsu and 'Madara'
Pein felt the connection break and he opened his eyes "Kimmimaru, Jugo and Suigetsu failed" Pein said as Konan and Zetsu opened their eyes "Zetsu; go and retrieve them if they are still alive" he said.
"Yes Lord Pein" Black Zetsu said as he slipped into the ground.
"So Kimmimaru and Jugo failed" Madara said in annoyance.
"A minor setback; but nothing we cannot recover from" Pein said and Madara nodded.
"I will go and see if either Kimmimaru or Jugo are still alive" Madara said as he vanished in a vortex.
Back with Darui and the team
Yugito began falling through the air and Samui began to rush over at max speed; Samui reached out and caught Yugito just as she was about to hit the ground "Yugito; oh god" Samui thought as she laid Yugito on the ground. Samui ripped open Yugito's shirt and put her ear to her chest "she has a heart beat but she's not breathing" Samui said as she began going through chest compressions.
Samui did 30 chest compressions before breathing into Yugito's mouth "Samui move" Karui said as she ran over; Karui went through hand signs and he hands began encased in lightening "clear" she shouted for everyone to stay back.
Karui shocked Yugito on her chest and side making her jump; Yugito opened her eyes and began to cough "oh… god" Yugito groaned much to Darui, Karui and Samui's delight "Matatabi" Yugito said.
"I'm still hear kitten" the Nibi said "I'm not at 100 percent up I'm still here" it said and Yugito smiled.
Darui kneeled down and picked up Yugito "glad your back Yugito" Darui said with a smile "lets get you some help" he said and Yugito nodded.
Darui and the others began to walk out with the weak but still alive Yugito.
With Kimmimaru
Kimmimaru was in the field surrounded on all sides by Itachi, Kakashi, Tayuya and her Doki; Kimmimaru was looking around trying to calculate his next move. As he did Kakashi stepped forward "give up; you have no chance of beating us" he said.
"I refuse" Kimmimaru said getting back into a stance; Kakashi sighed.
"Oh well; don't say- "Kakashi began until a figure appeared out of the ground.
"Kimmimaru; it's time to retreat" White Zetsu said grabbing him "lord Peins orders" black Zetsu said.
"Stop him" Itachi shouted a he charged forward trying to grab Kimmimru; but he was too slow and Zetsu and Kimmimaru disappeared "damn it; they escaped" Itachi cursed.
"Ok what the fuck was that shit" Tayuya shouted "did I just fucking see a goddamn plant man" she said.
With Naruto
Naruto and Suigetsu were still both fighting as both were pretty evenly matched; Suigetsu tried to stab Naruto but Naruto side stepped out of the way. Naruto brought down his sword and cut off Suigetsu's arm making him drop he sword; Suigetsu now defenseless was now about to be killed.
"Got you prick" Naruto shouted as he swung his sword at Suigetsu to finish him off; just as the sword neared a vortex appeared behind him and Suigetsu was pulled in just as Naruto's blade neared.
Naruto sliced through the air and looked around "what the hell" Naruto said confused "hey you asshole; our fight isn't over" Naruto shouted in anger. After a few second Naruto calmed down as he deactivated his sage mode "man this sucks; I was about to win too" he said; Naruto put his sword on his back and reached down and picked up the Nuibari "well at least Kiri has this back" Naruto said.
Naruto began to walk to where he and the other teams left Darui and the others "hopefully we got to Yugito in time" Naruto said as he ran through the forest.
At the rally point
Naruto approached the rally point and saw everyone there "hey guys" Naruto shouted running up.
"Naruto; your back, did you win" Watasumi asked and Naruto shook his head.
"No, he got away" Naruto said "there was this crazy vortex that appeared and he like vanished" he said.
"Huh no shit" Tayuya said "our guy got taken by a plant man" she said making Naruto look at her wide eyed.
"I won my fight" Kurama said "look I even have a trophy" Kurama said holding up Jugo's head. "I'm going to find a taxidermist to stuff it" Kurama said making everyone scoot away except for Karin who rolled her eyes "I'm kidding" Kurama said as he tossed the head into the river.
"We got Yugito; that's all that matters" Kakashi said "now then; lets return to Konoha so we can get some medical attention" he said.
"Well let's get a move on" Naruto said and Kakashi nodded; Naruto, Kakashi and everyone else began their long trek back to Konoha as their mission was accomplished.
