Mist and Maelstroms: Chapter 31
With Naruto, Kakashi, Yamato and Itachi: 2 days after leaving Kiri
Naruto, Itachi, Kakashi and Yamato were all walking down the road towards Taki to go and get Fu; as they walked down the road Naruto looked over to Itachi.
"So, weasel; you and Fu are an item right" Naruto said and Itachi nodded "she's ok with you being with Boar (Tayuya)" he asked and Itachi nodded.
"Yeah, she's fine with it" Itachi said "I need to rebuild my clan after all; besides she and Boar get along very well" he said. "I still need to find another 2 women" Itachi said "but I am currently talking to another girl back in Konoha" he said making everyone look at him.
"Huh… really who" Kakashi asked.
Meanwhile in Konoha: Inuzuka compound
Hana Inuzuka was looking in her closet trying to find nice cloths to wear for her date with Itachi; Itachi was currently on a mission and wouldn't be back until at least the end of the week.
'Holy shit, I really have nothing to wear' Hana thought as she looked into her closet at all her shinobi uniforms and hospital scrubs 'oh god I'm in trouble' Hana thought. Hana then ran out of her room and ran into the living room where Tsume and Hiruzen were playing with Tobirama.
"Mom, emergency; I don't have any cloths to wear on my date with Itachi" Hana said.
"Honey, you're 18 and a chunin" Tsume said.
"And I've never been on a date" Hana said "if is show up in my shinobi gear, I'll stand out like a sore thumb" Hana said and Tsume nodded.
"Go take Hana out shopping Tsume" Hiruzen said "me and Tobirama here can hold down the fort" Hiruzen said and Tsume nodded.
"Ok honey" Tsume said giving Hiruzen a kiss on the cheek "lets go Hana; lets doll you up" Tsume said as they walked out. Hiruzen was left with his son and he got a smile on his face.
"Now then son" Hiruzen said as he picked Tobirama up and sat down on the couch with him "let's watch some tv" he said as he turned on the tv. The tv came to life with a black and white show "ah my favorite western; Sword Oil (Gun Smoke)" he said as an action scene was about to play out "oh and a showdown too" he said.
Tobirama looked on as he saw 2 samurai duel and the good samurai kill the evil ronin "woah" he said in awe making Hiruzen chuckle.
In Taki: with Fu
Fu was humming to herself while she packed her cloths; her little house in the woods was only a little bit outside the village but still close enough for her to walk to.
"Ok" Fu said looking down at her 3 scrolls that held her possessions "cloths, furniture, cookware and shinobi gear" Fu said checking off her list. "Awesome; all packed up except for my sleeping bag" Fu said as she looked over to her living arrangement 'now I just got to wait for- 'Fu began until there was a knock at the door. 'They're here' Fu thought as she skipped over and open the door "Hey, what took you so- "Fu began until she paused as she looked at the 2 men standing at her door wearing black cloaks with red clouds.
A boy with white hair and purple eyes was standing there; however, it was the boy with black hair and sharingan who made her nervous 'Itachi' Fu thought.
"Are you Fu" Sasuke said looking at the green haired girl; Fu flinched at this and this was all Sasuke needed to confirm it "please come with us" Sasuke said his sharingan glowing.
"Sorry I have a boyfriend" Fu said as she closed the door, locked it with a deadbolt and put the chain on; Fu ran back to her room and grabbed her scrolls. Just as she reached her room the door exploded open and the boy with white hair walked in with an odd-looking sword.
The sword was more like an axe with a large blunt side and had a hammer attached to the handle by a rope "I'm so glad you decided to do that" Suigestu said as he walked into the house "I was just itching to use Kabutowari on something" he said looking at Fu.
Fu jumped out of her window and began to run through the forest towards the village 'crap, how did these guys get past our defenses' Fu thought 'I have to warn Shibuki' she thought. As Fu ran up a hill, she saw a sight that shook her to the core.
Taki was on fire and from what she could hear there was a battle going on in the center of the village; Fu heard foot steps behind her and saw that her 2 pursuers had caught up.
"Well, you didn't get too far" Suigetsu said "hey Sasuke; can I chop off a limb or 2" he asked and Sasuke scoffed.
"I don't care; as long as you don't kill her" Sasuke said as he pulled out his Katana.
Fu hearing this connected the pieces 'Sasuke, Itachi's missing brother; he's in the Akatsuki' she thought as she looked at Sasuke and Suigetsu. Fu swallowed hard and clenched her fists "Ok then" she said as she brought out her wings "lets get to it" Fu said.
With Naruto, Itachi, Kakashi and Yamato
Naruto and the others were walking down the road nearing Taki; as they walked along the road Kakashi looked up and saw multiple clouds of black smoke "What the hell" Kakashi said gaining all their attentions.
"That can't be good" Naruto said.
"Let's hurry" Itachi said as everyone began to run down the road; after running at full speed for about 3 minutes they reached the villages gate entrance in front of a giant waterfall. A lone Taki genin was standing there as they ran up and took out a kunai.
"Halt; don't move" he said his hands shaking from the nerves "who are you; why are you here" he asked.
"We are here to get your jinchuriki and escort her to Konoha" Yamato said handing the boy a scroll marked for Taki "what is happening here" he asked.
"The village is under attack" the genin said "the chunin and jonin gate guards went to go and fight them leaving me here" he said and Itachi groaned.
"Damn it" Itachi said "Naruto; make a dozen clones to help him stand guard" Itachi said and Naruto nodded; Naruto made 6 shadow and 6 water clones "please open the gates, we'll help as much as we can" he said and the genin shook his head.
"But how do I know if you're on my side" he said.
"We would've killed you by now if we weren't" Naruto said making the kid nod.
"Fair point" the genin said as he went through hand signs and stopped "Water Style: Parting rapids" he shouted; the water fall parted and stayed open showing the village burning on the other side. "Hurry up; I can only hold it for a little while" he said.
"Thanks dude" Naruto said as he and the others ran through the gap quickly; as soon as they passed the water fall and reached the outskirts of the village the gap closed and they were greeted by a horrific sight.
Dozens of dead villagers and shinobi lined the streets making Naruto growl "mother fuckers" Naruto said as his eyes turned red and slitted as he reached behind him and grabbed his sword "they are gonna fucking pay for murdering these people" he said.
"Calm down Naruto" Itachi said looking at the blonde swordsman "Kakashi, Yamato; go into the village and stop the attack, me and Naruto are going to secure Fu before anything else" he said. "I have a hunch my old organization has something to do with this" Itachi said; both Itachi and Naruto ran off as Kakashi and Yamato ran to find the perpetuator behind the attack.
With Kakashi and Yamato
Both Kakashi and Yamato were running through the village following the destruction and blood trails; as they ran, they saw more and more dead civilians and shinobi.
"Goddamn" Kakashi said as he passed another corpse; as they turned a corner they heard the clanging of steel and Kakashi saw something that made him pause "Yamato stop" Kakashi said. Kakashi skidded next to a corpse with a strange object sticking out of it.
"What the hell is that" Yamato asked as Kakashi pulled it out; Kakashi held it up and showed it to Yamato.
"It's a bone sword" Kakashi said "I know who this is" he said.
With Kimmimaru
Kimmimaru was in his final curse mark form fighting against 6 Taki ninja; he has lost count how many of them he has killed but he couldn't slow down. Kimmimaru's job was to keep the Taki ninja busy while Sasuke and Suigetsu went to get the 7 tails container; so far, he's been keeping the village's ninja busy.
A Taki ninja ran towards Kimmimaru with a katana in hand; Kimmimaru side stepped the attack and used his bone sword to impale him through the neck killing him in a fountain of blood. As his body fell to the ground 2 of the other ninja threw shuriken at him; Kimmimaru used his tail to swipe the projectiles sending them to the ground.
Kimmimaru pointed his fingers at the ninja and got ready to attack; Kimmimaru fired the bones from his finger tips sending them towards the ninja. Both were hit and one was killed instantly; the first one got hit once in the chest, once in the neck and once in the head. The other fell to the ground as he was hit in the neck twice severing his arteries; he rolled around on the ground in agony as he tried to stem the blood from his mortal wound.
The 3 remaining Taki ninja grit their teeth as more of their fellow ninja got killed "goddamn it how hard is it to kill this bastard" a jonin said as he went through hand signs "Water Style: Water lance" he said. Water came out from the ground and formed into the shape of a 6-foot-long lance; the jonin gripped it and looked at his 2 remaining chunin "let get him boys" he shouted as his chunin took out their kunai and charged.
Kimmimaru seeing this tossed his swords and took out his spine to use as a spear; the first Taki chunin slashed at him and clashed with his spear while the second came from behind. Kimmimaru threw a kick behind him landing on the Taki ninja's chin; Kimmimaru pulled his spear back and stabbed it into the the second chunin's stomach piercing all the way through killing him. The first chunin was thrown off balance when the spear was pulled away and fell towards Kimmimaru; Kimmimaru created a bone spike from knuckle and sent a punch towards the ninja.
The spike went into the ninja's eye punching through the skull, stabbing the brain and killing him; Kimmimaru pulled his arm back just in time to dodge a stab from the jonin. The Taki jonin began to attack Kimmimaru who was defending himself with his spine spear; both ninjas used their respective spears in a fast paced lancing battle.
The jonin ducked under a slash from the spine spear and sent a thrust towards Kimmimaru's chest; Kimmimaru was hit by a glancing blow as a wound appeared on his pectoral muscle. Kimmimaru however did not show any discomfort from the wound as he began his counter attack.
Kimmimaru sent a thrust towards the jonin's head; the jonin moved his head as the spear passed by his face only cutting his cheek. However, Kimmimaru changed his tactic and his weapon; Kimmimaru's spine swung back and wrapped itself around the jonin's neck.
"You did better than the others" Kimmimaru said as he tightened his spine breaking the jonin's neck killing him "but not good enough" he said as he let him go and fall to the ground.
Kimmimaru was about to move when suddenly he was hit by a wooden pilar that shot out of the ground hitting him in the chest; Kimmimaru was sent flying into the air and landed as 2 figures appeared wearing Konoha attire.
"I should've known it was you" Kakashi said his sharingan out and blazing "you're going to pay for what you did" Kakashi said as he took out a kunai. "Yamato, I'll hit him from close range; you use you're wood style to attack him from a distance" he said and Yamato nodded.
"Alright; be careful" Yamato said; Kimmimaru hearing this became intrigued.
'Wait; wood style' Kimmimaru thought 'so this is Tenzo; Lord Orochimaru;s experiment on Mokuten' he thought. 'Interesting' Kimmimaru thought as he got into his stance.
With Fu
Dodged a bolt of lightning from Sasuke as she used evasive maneuvers; Fu took out several kunai and threw then down towards Sasuke who used his sword to block them. Fu was about to perform a jutsu until she was hit by a volley of water bullets and began to fall towards the ground.
Suigetsu smirked as his water bullets hit her and was charging at her "ha; got you now" Suigetsu shouted as he brought back his sword to cut off her wings. When Suigetsu swung Fu vanished leaving him confused "huh; what the he- "he began until he was hit and send flying into the ground.
Sasuke seeing this saw 2 figures land; one holding Fu and the other with his fist covered in water. Sasuke saw Naruto and narrowed his eyes; Naruto turned and looked over and saw Sasuke for the first time in years.
"Sasuke! What the hell" Naruto shouted as he grabbed his sword "you joined the Akatsuki; have you lost your damn mind" he said. Sasuke scoffed and looked at his former teammate.
"Shut it loser" Sasuke said his sharingan glowing "I joined for power and I got it; I am more powerful than you ever could imagine" he said as he got a smile on his face. "You should be a good test for my skills; an appetizer for when I fight Itachi" he said.
"Why wait, little brother" Itachi said making Sasuke freeze; Sasuke turned and looked at the anbu masked man who was holding a wounded Fu. Itachi put Fu up against a tree and took of his mask "hello Sasuke" Itachi said; Sasuke's demeanor changed as now his arrogant self was replaced by a rage that has been welling up inside him for nearly a decade.
"Suigetsu" Sasuke shouted "you handle Naruto; Itachi is mine, forget the girl" he said; Suigetsu getting back up and gripping his Kabutowari looked over at Naruto.
"No problem, Sasuke" Suigetsu said smiling "I got a beef with blondie here" he said and Naruto smiled showing his shark teeth.
"Bring it water boy" Naruto said as he grabbed his executioner's blade "I wanna finish what we started" he said; Itachi took out his Wakizashi sword and glared at Sasuke activating his sharingan.
"Ok little brother" Itachi said getting into his stance "lets begin… shall we" he said.
