"Thanks for coming along with me for this Molly." Casey said, as she and Molly were heading east out of Mahogany Town.
"Yeah, seeing as Ash is keeping an eye on Pikachu, Scizor, and Sudowoodo while they recover, I figured the least I can do is come and help you out. So which Pokemon are you after today?" Molly asked.
"Who says I'm after a Pokemon?" Casey questioned.
"Just tell me it's name." Molly sighed.
"It's called Remoraid, and a water type." Casey said.
"I remember from the Whirl Cup, we saw one." Molly said. "I guess the good news is that there's only one place it can really be."
"Now comes the hard part." Casey said. "Bayleef come on out!"
"Why not Qwilfish?" Molly asked.
"Transfer system went down this afternoon, couldn't get any of my Pokemon even if I wanted to." Casey said.
"So that also means whoever Ash took out, he likely still has." Molly realized.
"Gonna run off to see it?" Casey asked.
"No, I'm here to help however you might need me." Molly assured.
"Good, now Bayleef use Sweet Scent!"
Bayleef whipped his leaf back and fourth releasing an alluring smell, drawing in several wild Pokemon.
"Uhm, Casey, you might've wanted to try something a little less potent." Molly said, seeing the gathered Pokemon.
"It's alright, the two of us can handle a couple of wild Pokemon. Come on let's do this!" Casey said.
"R-right. Quilava come on out!" Molly said. "Use Flame Wheel!"
"Bayleef use Razor Leaf!" Casey called out.
Quilava engulfed themself in flames launching at an oncoming Weepinbell, as well as two Bellsprout, while Bayleef kept a Lickitung and Poliwhirl at bay.
"More power! Beedrill, Elekid come on out! Use Twin Needle and Thunderbolt!"
"Phanpy, Teddiursa come out and use Strength and Rollout!" Molly said.
The four other Pokemon rushed out, Teddiursa holding the Lickitung back as Phanpy sent it flying, while Beedrill struck the duo of Bellsprout and Elekid struck Poliwhirl with a bolt of energy. As the Pokemon were knocked backwards more wild Pokemon came forward.
"Man, I never thought I'd wish Ash to show up out of nowhere." Casey admitted.
"Isn't this when he normally shows up?" Molly questioned. "What is Ash doing right now?"
Back at the Pokemon Center, Ash was lying on a bench while Sudowoodo and Scizor were being defrosted and Pikachu re energized.
"I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was." Ash sung to himself.
"Doom Doom Doom!" Houndoom added in, singing along with Ash.
Back with the girls
"Wait, Casey, I have an idea!" Molly said. "Just follow my lead."
"What's your plan?" Casey asked.
"Quilava use Smokescreen! Phanpy use Sandstorm!"
Phanpy and Quilava created a thick cover around the girls and their Pokemon.
"Come on, and make sure to return Bayleef especially." Molly said, returning her Pokemon before jumping into the water.
Casey trusted her friend had a good plan, jumping into the pond after Molly while returning Bayleef and Beedrill. Looking back up she could see the Pokemon disappearing above them. The two girls came back up for air, after the wild Pokemon had dispersed.
"How, how did you know that would work?" Casey asked, gasping for air.
"Sweet Scent, it's a smell based attack, if we washed ourselves of the scent, I figured they'd lose interest." Molly said, climbing out of the pond.
"Okay, but that still doesn't solve finding a Remoraid." Casey reminded.
"I have one other idea for that." Molly said. "Ampharos come out!"
"You're going to zap all of them to the top?" Casey asked.
"No, just have Bayleef ready again." Molly said. "Ampharos, dip your tail into the water and use Flash!"
Ampharos dipped her tail into the pond, illuminating the entirety of the body of water.
"I get it. Bayleef find a Remoraid and fish it up with Vine Whip!"
Bayleef looked into the water, shooting a duo of vines into the pond, before wrapping around the fish and quickly reeling them back up and noto dry land.
"Bayleef use Razor Leaf!"
Bayleef whipped their leaf back and forth, striking the wild Remoraid with a series of leaves, knocking them away from the pond.
"Now Pokeball go!" Molly exclaimed.
A Pokeball struck Remoraid, engulfing it in the red light before it went inside the ball.
'Ding, ding, ding.'
The Pokeball easily captured Remoraid, knocking another rare Pokemon off of Casey's list.
"That was great Casey." Molly said.
"I couldn't have done it without your idea to fix the Sweet Scent issue." Casey pointed out.
"I wouldn't thank me yet, I think they're back." Molly said, seeing a group of Tangela approaching.
"Yeah, we're surrounded." Casey said, seeing Lickitung coming towards them from the other direction. "Bayleef use Razor Leaf!"
"Quilava use Flame Wheel!" Molly called out, the two starter Pokemon firing their elemental attacks at the incoming groups.
"Bay Bay Bay Bay!" Bayleef exclaimed, firing leaves at the Lickitung.
"Qui!" Quilava shouted, crashing into the Tangela as the Pokemon finally dispersed leaving them alone.
"Time to head back to the Pokemon Center?" Molly asked in shock.
"Yeah, sounds like a plan." Casey said, quickly following Molly back to town.
