@E3roa there are plans for Ash to get some training in the ways of the steel type with Jasmine, but I won't go over exact plans with what it will be just yet.
"Okay, any idea how much farther we have to go before we're finally out of here?" Casey asked.
"Hard to say, those detours got us all messed up, plus my Pokegear is still water logged from the slobber of that Pokemon." Ash said, trying to look at the map.
"Did you ever even figure out what that Pokemon was?" Molly asked.
"I was a little busy at the time to be fair." Ash groaned. "Plus it was dark out."
"Could Gligar maybe get a look to see if we are anywhere near Azalea Town?" Casey asked.
"Might not be a bad idea." Ash said. "Gligar come on out!"
Gligar came out of his Pokeball, swooping higher and higher into the air up into the canyon.
"Gligar, can you see anything?!" Ash called out.
"Gli!" Gligar yelped as something tackled it from that far into the air.
"What tackled him?!" Molly said in surprise.
"Not sure, but they're coming in quick. Charizard!" Ash exclaimed instinctively. "Right, Charizard isn't here."
"Ash focus!" Casey exclaimed, "Chikorita catch them with Vine Whip!"
Chikorita extended his vines wrapping the falling Gligar as the other Pokemon hopped off landing a ways off in front of the trainers.
"Dour!" The Pokemon exclaimed.
"It's you, from the other night!" Ash exclaimed.
"Dou!" The Pokemon exclaimed, letting off some flames.
'Houndour, the Dark Pokemon, a Dark and Fire type. It uses different kinds of cries for communicating with others of its kind and for pursuing prey.' Ash's Pokedex said.
"A dark type, like that Murkrow, and a fire type." Ash said excitedly. "Gligar, are you up for a fight?"
"I don't think Gligar is ready for anything." Molly admitted, looking at the Ground type.
"Alright then, Squirtle come on out!" Ash called out.
"Squirtle Squirt!" Squirtle exclaimed, standing tall in battle.
"Squirtle use Water Gun!"
Squirtle sent out a stream of water, soaking the Houndour as it doubled back before sending out a flurry of small flames.
"Squirtle use Withdraw!" Ash called out, the tiny turtle quickly retreating into his shell, with the flames leaving some marks but not doing much else. "Now use Water Gun!"
Squirtle's shell was propelled right at the Houndour, knocking the canine onto its back before getting back up and biting at Squirtle's shell.
"Squirtle use Skull Bash!" Ash called out.
Squirtle launched his head back out of his shell, striking the Houndour and causing it to tumble back.
"Now, Pokeball, go!" Ash exclaimed, tossing the ball at the wild Houndour.
'Ding, Ding.'
The Pokeball broke open after only two dings as the Houndour let out a roar, and a black smog came out of his mouth, surrounding Squirtle.
"Squirtle, are you alright?!" Ash called out.
Molly and Casey could see a glimmer from the smog before a blast of water cleared it away, showing Squirtle with a pair of sunglasses on.
"Ash, how long has Squirtle had those?" Casey questioned.
"Not sure, he had them when I caught him." Ash admitted. "Now Squirtle use Hydro Pump!"
Squirtle flipped back onto his feet, launching a massive stream of water, fully engulfing Houndour in the water.
"Squirtle use Skull Bash!"
Squirtle launched forward as Houndour did the same, their fangs digging into Squirtle's shell.
"Squirtle use Withdraw and Water Gun!" Ash called out.
Squirtle went back into his shell, sending out five streams of water from each hole, blasting Houndour off of his shell and away form him.
"Now, Pokeball go!" Ash exclaimed, tossing it at Houndour's twitching body.
'Ding, ding, ding'
"Alright, we just caught a Houndour!" Ash cheered.
"Squirtle Squirt!" Squirtle cheered with his trainer.
"Great, we're still lost and our only Pokemon who could see a way out is knocked out cold." Casey reminded.
"Maybe, but Gligar isn't our only Pokemon who could find it's way out now." Molly reminded.
"What do you mean?" Ash asked.
"Think about it, Houndour was able to find his way to you and us multiple times, if anyone knows a way out of here, it's probably him.". Molly pointed out.
"Alright, Houndour come on out we need your help!" Ash called out.
"Dour?" Houndour said in exhausted confusion.
"Sorry to ask you for help so quickly, but do you know how to get to a town to the south of here?" Ash asked.
"Dour." Houndour said, sniffing at the ground before turning around and running a ways off, before turning back around and waiting for everyone.
"I guess he knows a way." Ash said, before pulling out Squirtle and Gligar's Pokeball, recalling them both before following Houndour.
"Chikorita you come back too." Casey said, returning her starter before following after Ash and Molly.
A while of following Houndour later
"Look, out in the distance!" Ash exclaimed in relief, seeing a small town near some woods off in the distance.
"That must be Azalea Town!" Molly cheered.
"Or at the very least they could tell us where we are in relation to Azalea Town." Casey pointed out.
"We're almost there buddy, soon we'll find out the secrets that the GS Ball holds." Ash said to Pikachu as the duo looked at the GS Ball in his hand.
"Pi." Pikachu responded.
"Well, what are we waiting up here for?" Molly asked. "Let's get going and find out this mystery once and for all."
