"I promise, you guys are going to love Greenfield." Molly said excitedly. "Everything here is beautiful, the homes, the river, the roads, the flora and fauna."
"Molly, you don't have to keep selling us on Greenfield, we're literally all but like an hour away from reaching your house." Casey reminded.
"And after some rest and relaxation along with hearing about the ruins, it's off to Goldenrod City for my next gym battle!" Ash said excitedly.
"Ash, one thing at a time." Molly said.
"Hey I did say we weren't leaving right away, I figured with rest and relaxation we'll be here for a couple of days at least." Ash assured, as they reached the top of the hill.
"Speaking of rest and relaxation." Casey said, seeing the small park. "Anyone up for a quick break?"
"Hey, are you three Pokemon trainers?" A girl said, jogging up with a purple monkey on her shoulder.
"Yeah, I'm Ash Ketchum, a trainer from Pallet Town." Ash said stepping up.
"Well I'm a trainer too, how about a battle then?" The girl asked.
"Sounds like fun." Ash said, grabbing a Pokeball. "A workout will help keep me in shape for the Johto League!"
"Excuse me, but first lets figure out if you're even in my league." The girl said.
"Well then get ready, because I always play to win!" Ash said, tossing out Totodile.
The girl sent out a large pinkish doglike Pokemon in retaliation.
"Granbull use Bite!"
"Totodile dodge it!"
Granbull rushed forward, biting at Totodile as he spun out of the way running around the playground happily as Granbull kept trying to bite him.
"Totodile use Water Gun!"
Totodile gave some distance before blasting Granbull back with a stream of water into a tree and knocking it out in one hit.
"Yeah, great work Totodile!" Ash said, high fiving the water type.
"We're not done yet." The girl said, returning Granbull before rushing forward. "Come on out Girafarig!"
"Gligar I choose you!" Ash called out.
Gligar swooped around, hugging Ash's face as the boy pulled him off just in time as Girafarig landed with a stomp attack, narrowly avoiding the two as Gligar flew off.
"Gligar use Sand Attack!" Ash called out, the ground type, knocking some dust in Girafarig's direction.
"Girafarig use Psybeam!" The girl called out, a beam narrowly missing Gligar as he flew up the slide.
"Now use Poison Sting!" Ash called out.
Girafarig ducked before sending out another Psybeam, striking Gligar and causing him to fall back down the slide.
"Great work Gligar, take a long rest." Ash said, returning the ground type. "Now come on out Wobbuffet!" Ash said.
"Aipom you're up!"
Wobbuffet waited as Aipom crawled around the climbing structure before leaping at the psychic type.
"Use Counter!" Ash called out.
Aipom struck Wobbuffet, pushing the psychic type's body down and back before it flung forward, knocking out Aipom.
"Aipom!" The girl exclaimed, recalling her Pokemon.
"Great work Wobbuffet." Ash said, recalling the psychic type as it gave a salute. "Bulbasaur, you're up!"
"Come on out Butterfree!"
"Bulbasaur use Vine Whip!"
"Butterfree use Protect!"
Bulbasaur's vines were easily guarded by the mysterious barrier.
"Now Butterfree use Sleep Powder!"
"Dodge it Bulbasaur!"
The grass type was still retracting his vines as the sleep inducing spores covered him as he inhaled, putting him to sleep.
"Now finish with Gust!"
Bulbasaur was knocked back and out as Ash's opponent and her Butterfree did a victory dance.
"We're not done yet, come on out Houndour!"
"Mankey, let's go!"
"Houndour use Headbutt!"
"Mankey use Headbutt!"
The two Pokemon collided with incredible force before backing off of each other.
"Mankey use Karate Chop!"
"Houndour use Bite!"
Mankey leapt forward, his entire arm crashing towards Houndour as the dark type bit the arm, tossing him backwards.
"Now use Ember!"
A series of small flames shot out at Mankey, knocking the fighting type out as his trainer recalled the fighting type.
"Great work Houndour!" Ash cheered, spinning the fire type around before returning it.
"Let's show them we mean business, come on out Quagsire!"
"Pikachu, you've got this!" Ash called out. "Use Thunderbolt!"
The Quagsire was unfazed by the attack.
"Use Quick Attack!"
"Quagsire use Slam!"
Pikachu rushed into Quagsire, bouncing off of it's rubbery body before being slammed by the water types tail.
"Now use Water Gun!"
Quagsire sent out a water gun, launching Pikachu into a swing which he used the momentum to fly off of back at Quagsire, slamming right on top of its head, causing both Pokemon to get dizzy before falling over.
A short bit later during lunch
"So you three are stopping here in Greenfield for a bit?" The girl now known as Lisa said.
"Yeah, me and my dad live here and he should be returning from his research mission today." Molly said excitedly.
"Well if the two of you who didn't grow up here ever want a tour, or are looking to redeem yourself, I'd be more than happy to help out." Lisa said tauntingly.
"Redeem myself, I won 3-2." Ash argued.
"Please, Quagsire's head is what knocked out Pikachu, we both know it was a tie." Lisa countered.
"Is this what it's like when I argue with Ash?" Casey whispered.
"Every, single, time." Molly said bluntly as Lisa and Ash continued to banter.
