Episode 3.3—"All or Nothing"
Inside the hangar on Mount Tantiss, stormtroopers cart out unconscious clones on gurneys. Scalder informs the stormtroopers that Hemlock plans to continue experimenting on the clones off-world. While the troopers roll the gurneys onto shuttles, Scalder asks where the defective clone is. A stormtrooper replies that Emerie is keeping Crosshair on Tantiss for an additional day, as she wishes to study his unique DNA. Scalder does not have the authority to override this decision, but she instructs the troopers to keep an eye on Emerie.
In the detention level, Emerie updates Crosshair and Omega on what's happening in the hangar. Omega asks if there is a way to help the other clones. Emerie says she's working on it. The important thing is that the clones will be out of harm's way when the destruction begins. For now, they need to discuss her plan. She mentions Crosshair's previous escape attempt, during which Hemlock subdued him with poison gas. Interconnected gas pipes run through every room in the mountain. If they caused an explosion in one of the ducts, the heat from the blast could trigger more explosions in the adjoining pipes, compromising the mountain's stability. Nala Se is working with volatile compounds in her lab. She thinks she could use them to start the first explosion. Crosshair is skeptical that this could bring down the mountain, but Omega believes it's worth a try.
Back in the hangar, Scalder watches the last transport depart. She asks a passing stormtrooper how Nala Se is progressing. The trooper responds that he just checked on her; she has been working nonstop all morning. A flicker of doubt crosses Scalder's face. She marches up to the security room and pulls up the surveillance feed from Nala Se's lab. Emerie's recycled feed shows footage of Nala Se sleeping, not working.
While Scalder analyzes the security footage, Emerie releases Crosshair and Omega from their cell. She explains that she's taking them down to the heavily fortified bunker. The bunker contains an air duct but is not connected to the gas pipelines. Once Nala Se finishes setting the explosive, she will join them inside the bunker before the destruction begins. Afterward, they can escape through the air duct. The power will be offline from the explosions, so they should be able to sneak out of the vents undetected and escape on Emerie's ship.
They wait until the coast is clear of stormtroopers, then slip out of the detention level. Omega points out that if their plan succeeds, everyone else will die. Crosshair says he's counting on it. Emerie puts a finger to her lips and leads them to the control room, where she can direct the gas flow.
Meanwhile, Nala Se mixes chemicals in her lab. They bubble and begin releasing steam. Nala Se opens the vent above her and pours the solution inside it. She then opens and shuts the vent twice to signal the others.
Inside the control room, Emerie instructs Crosshair and Omega to keep watch while she studies a digital map of the ventilation system. On the map screen, the Aurebesh writing over Nala Se's air duct changes from "open" to "closed" twice. Emerie observes the signal and closes all the vent openings. She types in the command for all the vents to fill with gas, then taps a button that will disable the ray shield in Nala Se's lab. Crosshair and Omega suddenly duck inside. They warn Emerie that stormtroopers are coming their way.
With the ray shield down, Nala Se prepares to escape her lab. Before she can leave, Scalder arrives. The doctor aims a blaster at Nala Se and speaks urgently into her comlink, requesting backup. Nala Se notices that the closed gas vent is starting to glow with heat.
Meanwhile, the stormtroopers stop to question Emerie, who claims she received orders to transfer Crosshair and Omega to the bunker lab. The troop leader insists on escorting them to the command center to confirm her statement.
Back in Nala Se's lab, the gas vent is glowing hotter and hotter. Nala Se tries to distract Scalder, but the doctor notices the imminent danger. Before Scalder can report the situation, Nala Se seizes Scalder's blaster and shoots the vent. The blast jumpstarts the reaction, illuminating the room with flames and projecting powerful explosions through the gas ducts.
Down in the lower levels, the stormtroopers begin leading Emerie, Crosshair, and Omega to the command enter. The thundering roar of detonations fills the air. The corridor shudders violently, catching the troopers off guard. Crosshair uses the distraction to wrest a blaster away from one of the troopers. He easily takes out the whole squadron, then follows the girls down to the bunker. Chunks of earth and cement rain down as explosions rocket through the gas pipes and split open the walls.
When they reach the entrance to the bunker, Emerie starts typing in the security code that will open the doors. Before she can finish, the uppermost level of Tantiss caves in, shutting off the power. Crosshair asks if there is an emergency power source that she can activate. As more stormtroopers approach, Emerie says the breaker room is nearby, but she's not sure if she can make it. Crosshair pushes Omega behind him and promises to cover Emerie. He fires at the stormtroopers, giving Emerie an opening to break through.
Emerie makes it to the utility room, where she turns on the backup power. As the ceiling crumbles above her, she scrambles toward the exit. Just before she reaches it, part of the ceiling collapses, trapping her inside the room.
Back in the lower levels, the power has switched back on and the bunker doors are sliding open. Throngs of stormtroopers tear down the halls to capture Crosshair and Omega. The two retreat into the bunker and attempt to seal the doors, but they don't know the code. Gripping his blaster, Crosshair strides out of the bunker, ordering Omega to stay put. The stormtroopers stream into the room. Something comes alive inside Crosshair as he goes on the offensive. He shoots the troopers as only an enhanced soldier could, dodging their blasts with his catlike reflexes.
Another wave of explosions shakes through the mountain, throwing Crosshair off his feet. Omega looks up to see cracks splintering across the ceiling. The last surviving stormtrooper attacks Crosshair, attempting to wrench away his weapon. As another squad of troopers arrives, Crosshair yells at Omega to stay in the bunker. Instead, Omega bolts past him, dodging blaster fire. She grabs a gun from a fallen trooper and shoots at the part of the ceiling containing a gas pipe. A hefty portion of the ceiling crashes down, crushing the troopers. Crosshair overcomes the stormtrooper that was attacking him and rushes up to Omega. He yanks her away from the destruction, but not before shrapnel from the gas pipe embeds itself in her leg. He drags her into the bunker as the power shuts off again. The two huddle together as the entire mountain caves in.
Eventually, the explosions settle. The mountain has fallen, and the wreckage has sealed Crosshair and Omega inside the bunker. The rubble has blocked their escape through the air duct, and Omega's leg is bleeding. Crosshair patches Omega up as well as he can and assesses their situation. Their area of the bunker contains some old medical supplies and a jug of distilled water, but no food rations.
The two search for a way out of the bunker. Omega discovers a rundown datapad. It is password-protected, so they cannot access it; however, Omega notices that its signal improves when she points it to what they believe is the north. Crosshair surmises that a data tower may lie in that direction. Omega says if they found a way to escape the bunker, they could travel to the data tower and send a transmission to their squad. Crosshair doubts the Bad Batch would be close enough to receive their signal. Omega says she has faith in them, but Crosshair replies that he stopped counting on them long ago.
Before the two can argue, Omega grows weak and her leg starts bleeding again. Crosshair realizes that there must still be shrapnel inside her leg, and he attempts to remove it. The process causes Omega so much pain that Crosshair can only bring himself to dislodge a small piece of shrapnel. As Crosshair wraps up her leg again, Omega asks if he remembers anything about their early childhood together. Crosshair replies that he does not.
Omega wonders if Nala Se and Emerie made it out alive, and Crosshair says there is no way of knowing. He adds that they only have enough air to last for a few days, and their water supply will run out not long after. Omega refuses to give up hope. She insists that somehow, they'll get out of this alive.
We end with an exterior shot of what was once Mount Tantiss. The entire mountain has imploded in on itself.
