"Hello everyone and welcome to the second round of this years Whirl Cup Competition, as a reminder these matches will be two on two, and for the entirety of this round you will be asked to stick with whatever two you've chosen!" The announcer declared.

"Who do you think Ash went with?" Molly asked, holding Pikachu as she took a seat with Brock and Casey.

"I'm more curious about who Misty went with, she has five water types to pick from." Casey pointed out.

"I'm sure they both have plans for this round, we'll just have to hope they picked good choices.

Ash Round 2 Match 1

"Kingler I choose you!"

"Come on out Octillery!"

"Wanna take this one?" Molly asked to Casey.

'Octillery, the Jet Pokemon and a Water Type. It's instinct is to bury itself in holes. It often steals the nesting holes of others to sleep in them.' Casey's Pokedex informed.

"Why does it feel that sometimes the Pokedex gives next to nothing for useful information?" Casey asked aloud.

"Kingler use Stomp!"

"Octillery use Octozooka!"

Both Pokemon dove into the water, rushing at the other, Kingler slamming into the octopus with his foot before being blasted back by a stream of inky water.

"Kingler use Hyper Beam!"

"Octillery use Hyper Beam!"

Kingler leapt back up onto a platform, positioning one of his pincers and unleashing a powerful beam of light into the water as Octillery fired their own beam back as a counterattack, the two beams of light colliding against one another until Kingler's pushed through, overwhelming Octillery and knocking them out almost immediately.

"That was frighteningly powerful." Molly said in shock.

"That's Kingler for you, in fact the first time Ash used him, he won a match, 3 to nothing." Brock reminisced.

"Wow, that's actually really impressive." Casey said in awe.

"Octillery return, come out Kabutops!"

"Kingler use Crabhammer!"

"Kabutops use Mega Drain!"

Kingler leapt at Kabutops, only to be sucked in quickly, his energy draining before Kabutops gripped the crustacean tightly with his scythes.

"Kabutops use Slash!"

Kabutops quickly flipped his scythes, sending Kingler into the air with ease.

"Kingler return!" Ash said, before the water type fell back into the water. "Come on out Squirtle!"

"When'd he get Squirtle?!" Molly and Casey said in shock.

"Ash realized he should get both Kingler and Squirtle just in case so he called Professor Oak for Kingler this morning." Brock said.

"So he had Squirtle already yesterday, I would've put money that he got Kingler first." Casey said.

"Kabutops use Slash!"

"Squirtle use Withdraw!"

Squirtle ducked into his shell as Kabutops slashed at the tiny turtle's shell.

"Kabutops use Mega Drain!"

"Squirtle use Skull Bash!"

Squirtle's shell was being drawn in slowly as Squirtle rocketed forward with the combined force of the two attacks, slamming into Kabutops and knocking them into the water.

"Squirtle use Hydro Pump!"

"Kabutops use Ancient Power!"

Squirtle dove into the water sending a blast of water, piercing through the rocks Kabutops had thrown at him.

"Squirtle use Skull Bash!"

"Kabutops use Slash!"

Beneath the waves Squirtle and Kabutops struck each other time and time again, pushing against one another until Kabutops was launched back to the surface.

"Squirtle finish it, use Hydro Pump!"

"Kabutops use Bubblebeam!"

Squirtle and Kabutops launched their water attacks against one another with Squirtle quickly overpowering the larger water type, knocking them out for the win.

"Go Ash!" Molly cheered.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheered his trainer as well.

Misty Round 2 Match 1

"Alright, come on out Goldeen!"

"Seaking I choose you!"

"Isn't Seaking the evolved form of Goldeen?" Casey asked.

"It is, so this will be an uphill battle for Misty and Goldeen.

"Goldeen use Horn Attack!"

"Seaking use Peck!"

The two fish swam around underwater, striking back and forth with their horns.

"Goldeen use Horn Drill!"

"Seaking use Waterfall!"

The two fish Pokemon rushed right at each other, Goldeen spinning through the blast of water, slamming into Seaking, piercing the evolved Pokemon and launching them high into the air.

"Incredible, with the power of a mighty Horn Drill, Seaking was knocked out instantly!" Casey cheered.

"Seaking return, come on out Seadra!"

"Goldeen use Horn Attack!"

"Seadra use Twister!"

Seadra swam circles around Goldeen, tossing the fish out of the water and into the air with relative ease.

"Goldeen switch out! Come out Poliwrath use Submission!"

Poliwrath came out of his Pokeball, jumping into the water with zero hesitation, grabbing onto Seadra before tossing them back out onto the platforms.

"Seadra get back into the water and use Water Gun!"

Seadra swung around, heading back towards the water.

"Poliwrath use Body Slam!"

Poliwrath leapt back onto Seadra, slamming his elbow into the Pokemon, knocking them out.

"Misty won her first fight of this round now too!" Molly cheered.

Ash Round 2 Match 2

"Squirtle let's go!" Ash called out.

"Come on out Vaporeon!"

"Squirtle use Skull Bash!"

"Vaporeon use Acid Armor!"

Both water types dove under the waves, Vaporeon quickly disappearing from Squirtle's line of sight.

"Squirtle get back out and do what you do best!" Ash exclaimed.

"Vaporeon use Quick Attack!"

Squirtle flipped back onto a platform, putting on his sunglasses before slowly looking around, noticing something coming right for him before he counter attacked slamming his head into the oncoming Vaporeon.

"Vaporeon use Hydro Pump!"

"Squirtle use Hydro Pump!"

Squirtle sent out a massive blast of water, easily overpowering Vaporeon's own stream, knocking the evolved Pokemon back a bit.

"Now use Skull Bash one more time!" Ash called out.

Squirtle rocketed forward, slamming his head right into Vaporeon, knocking them out.

"Vaporeon return, come on out Blastoise!"

"And that's it for Squirtle." Casey commented.

"Don't count him out just because he's against his fully evolved form, he's overcome those odds before." Brock commented.

"Squirtle use Skull Bash!"

"Blastoise use Skull Bash!"

Squirtle and Blastoise traded blows, sending Squirtle hurdling backwards from the recoil.

"Squirt!" Squirtle exclaimed, getting back up, sending out his Hydro Pump!

"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"

Squirtle's stream of water pushed right against Blastoise's dual streams, easily holding off what should have been a one sided fight.

"That stream is impossible, I mean Squirtle shouldn't be even close to tying, much less winning?" Casey asked in shock as Blastoise was pushed back inch by inch.

"Squirtle now while he's off balance, use Skull Bash!" Ash called out.

Squirtle launched forward, slamming into the upper half of Blastoise, knocking it onto their back, rendering the large water type unable to continue battling.

"That was frighteningly strong." Molly admitted, seeing Squirtle single handedly taking out two more powerful and larger water types.

Misty Round 2 Match 2

"Poliwrath let's go!"

"Let's go Politoed!"

"Politoed?" Molly asked pulling out her Pokedex.

'Politoed, the Frog Pokemon, an evolution of Poliwhirl and a pure water type. Whenever three or more of these get together, they sing in a loud voice that sounds like bellowing.' Molly's Pokedex said.

"Wait I thought Poliwhirl evolved into Poliwrath?" Casey asked, pulling out her own Pokedex.

'Poliwrath, the Tadpole Pokemon, an evolution of Poliwhirl and a Water and Fighting type. It can use its well-developed arms and legs to run on the surface of the water for a split second.' Casey's Pokedex said.

"They're both evolutions of Poliwhirl, I thought only Eevee and Slowpoke had that ability." Casey said in surprise.

"Poliwrath use Body Slam!"

"Politoed use Body Slam!"

The two water types rushed at each other, interlocking their arms and pushing back against one another.

"Poliwrath use Submission!"

"Politoed use Swagger!"

Politoed let out a cry as Poliwrath flipped him over his body, slamming the green water type headfirst onto the platform.

"Politoed use Headbutt!"

"Poliwrath use Hydro Pump!"

Politoed jumped back into the air before flipping around and plummeting back towards Poliwrath only to be blasted by their Hydro Pump, knocking the green Pokemon out.

"Politoed return, come out Cloyster!"

"Poliwrath use Submission!" Misty called out.

"Cloyster use Spike Cannon!"

Poliwrath wasted no time leaping at the ice type, clamping it's two halve's shut together, keeping it from attacking him.

"Poliwrath use Body Slam!"

Poliwrath used their own strength to send Cloyster slamming into the platform and jamming it down a small amount.

"Cloyster use Blizzard!"

"Poliwrath use Submission!"

Poliwrath grabbed Cloyster once more, spinning them around before sending the ice type flying into a pillar, knocking them out for the win.

"Wow, both Ash and Misty had a perfect second match this round, they might go all the way." Molly said in shock.

"I wouldn't count on it, it's all the top trainers from here, they're in the top 16 after all." Brock pointed out.

"And the next round will be in the third islands arena." Casey said, knowing that both trainers would need to get used to the new arena once more.

I know, I know it has been a while longer for this chapter than normal, but my personal life has taken the reigns lately, hence the odd upload schedule, I swear this chapter has been like 90% done for a week and a half, I just never got around to finishing Misty's second fight.
