4th March 1916
5pm
"Hello" Rose said quietly with a grin to Emilia as Henry carried her in to his and Rose's bedroom, where Rose was sat on the bed holding their newborn son close to her. Henry had insisted and been by Rose's side as she gave birth, after dropping Emilia at Marie's house whilst she was in labour, seen as Rose didn't want her in the house as she gave birth. Her and Marie still spent time together and supported each other through their life events, but after Marie got married, the amount of time they spent together decreased. However, Marie still acted as Rose's maid of honour when she and Henry got married whilst Rose was pregnant.
"Baby!" Emilia squealed with a huge smile. "Yes darling" Rose chuckled as Henry placed her on the bed. "This is your baby brother" he smiled and watched as Emilia peered at the baby lay in Rose's arms. "He's called Charlie" Rose said as she stroked Emilia's cheek. "Can you say Charlie?" Henry asked with a smile as he sat beside Emilia. "Char-ie" Emilia said with a frown, struggling to say the name "Baby…" she said, seen as she was only 3, she still struggled with some words…
"OK" Rose chuckled "you can call him baby if you want to" she kissed her head, smiling at Henry. "What do you think?" Henry asked Emilia as he lifted her on to his knee. "Good" she nodded and rested her head against him. Emilia had become as comfortable with Henry as she was with Rose, but despite that, still called him by his name… neither Rose nor Henry had encouraged her to call him 'Dad' with Henry knowing he would never replace Jack as her Dad because of how much Rose once loved him.
"I hold?" Emilia asked, looking at Rose. "Of course, come and sit next to me" Rose smiled in response, watching as Emilia shuffled along the bed to sit beside her. "Will you be OK with them whilst I go and start dinner? You both need to eat" Henry asked. "Yes, thank you" Rose nodded with a smile, watching as he left the room before passing Charlie over to Emilia, holding his head carefully. Her eyes filled up with a few tears as she watched Emilia lean down and kiss Charlie's head. "That's kind sweetheart" Rose said as she kissed Emilia's temple. "Read a story?" Emilia asked as she clearly got bored of holding Charlie. "Of course, go and get a book from your bedroom" Rose replied, helping Emilia off the bed with her spare arm, once she had left the room, she gently placed Charlie in his moses basket and helped Emilia on to the bed once she returned, wincing in pain ever so slightly as she did so.

Henry came back in to the room around 30 minutes later. "Dinner is ready" he smiled gently at the two of them "Come on, let's go and have some tea" Rose said quietly as she squeezed Emilia's shoulder gently, before climbing off the bed with Henry's help. Emilia held her arms up to Rose but Rose gave Henry a pleading look, implying she couldn't lift her yet, so Henry stepped in front of Emilia and lifted her up, spinning her round so she wouldn't take notice of the fact Rose hadn't taken her. "Do we bring him down with us?" Henry asked, nodding to Charlie "no, he's settled, we'll hear him if he cries" Rose smiled gently as she left the room and headed downstairs.
The 3 of them ate tea, Emilia clearly becoming tired as they did so, but that didn't stop her asking questions. "Hen-ry?" Emilia asked from the opposite side of the table, she wasn't yet able to put the 2 sounds of his name together, something both he and Rose found sweet. "Yes sweetheart?" "Am I still your favourite?" She eyed him, making Rose stifle a laugh. Henry had always referred to Emilia as his 'favourite girl', something he had done to make her feel special when he and Rose became a couple. "Yes" he chuckled "you're still my favourite girl" he smiled at her before she yawned again. "Are you tired?" Rose asked, Getting a nod in response. "OK, it's bedtime after tea anyway" Rose smiled, equally as tired. "Read me a story?" Emilia asked hopefully, but didn't get a quick reply from Rose in reply, something she didn't notice but Henry did. "How about I read you your story and put you to bed tonight? I'll read you 3 stories, hey? Since you've been so good today, and become the best big sister!" Henry smiled at Emilia, hoping she would be sold on the idea so Rose could get some well needed rest. Emilia nodded eagerly in response. "Yes!" She said with a grin "night night Mummy" she continued, making Rose chuckle. "You need to finish your dinner first missy!" She said before nodding to the plate in front of Emilia.

Once dinner was eaten, the 3 of them headed back upstairs, and after Rose said goodnight to Emilia, she headed back in to her room where after feeding Charlie, she fell asleep once she had placed him back in to his crib.
Henry read Emilia her stories before sitting by her bed, stroking her head as he or Rose always did to help her fall asleep. He headed to his and Rose's room before climbing in to bed beside her after checking on Charlie, who was sleeping. He kissed Rose's head and pulled the cover over her, before falling asleep too.
