Chapter 1: Prologue

Anger, Rage, those were only things on my mind right now. I could not do anything to save my clan, my family.

These were the thoughts of Hanzo Hasashi also known as Scorpion by his clan. Right now he is in the Netherrealms chained or better yet both his hands and legs are being impaled by a Scythe attached to chains. How he got here…

One Day Earlier Shirai Ryu Territory*

17 year old Hanzo had gone out of the village with his 10 year old brother Satoshi on his back to get water from the spring. Both wearing the traditional Shirai Ryu garb, being a yellow Ninja vest attached with a hoodie. Both brothers look almost identical with Satoshi being younger. But one distinct feature that differentiates them is the fact Satoshi has Black Wolf ears as opposed to Hanzo having human ears.

This is due to him being a Faunus. Their mother Harumi being a Faunus and father Jubei being Human makes the brothers somewhat hybrids. Though Hanzo lacks the physical Faunus traits, he is known for his almost enhanced sense of smell and hearing.

Heading back home with both buckets filled, was when both brothers noticed fire from the village.

"Big Brother, what's going on out there?" Satoshi asked, slightly nervous as the fire seemed to increase.

Not wasting any time, Hanzo drops his buckets, also placing Satoshi down.

"Listen to me Satoshi, I want you to head towards the cave we usually play in. I'll come find you right after I find out what is happening at the village".

"But brother, I want to come too. I can also fight". Satoshi says.

"I know, but I'd rather have you away from this particular issue. I promise to help you train more when this is over".

Satoshi nods hesitantly. "Be safe". Satoshi says before hugging Hanzo. They stay like that for a few seconds before Satoshi starts running towards the cave.

Now certain his brother was out of harm's way, Hanzo dashes towards the village.

Reaching the village, Hanzo is greeted with the site of buildings on fire, and dead Shirai Ryu's…and Lin Kueis. With the site he starts running towards the Fire Garden, hoping he's not too late.

About 10 Lin Kueis start chasing after him from the shadows hoping to take him by surprise. But just as they started going after him, Hanzo had already noticed them. Slowing down to check a dead Shirai Ryu, Hanzo waits for the Lin Kueis to get closer.

Just as two katana wielding Lin Kueis swoop in to take his head, he side steps the first while unsheathing two strapped swords from his back and blocks the second one's attack. Shocked by the fact they were noticed easily, they didn't have time to stop Hanzo slitting their throats open. The remaining 8 warriors were slightly shocked at how Hanzo could easily bypass their Allie's aura and kill them, but quickly ignored their surprise and became more on edge.

What the Lin Kueis were unaware of was that being the son of the Clan head Hanzo was given weapons that could easily bypass aura add to the fact that he had trained to the point that he was strong enough to deplete some opponents aura with just a few hits.

Surrounded on all sides by the Lin Kueis Hanzo prepares for the coming fight. With the Lin Kueis wielding various weapons ranging from swords, spears and scythe's they all charge in hopes of overpowering Hanzo…

Finally reaching the Fire Garden, Hanzo is seen covered in blood and small cuts. He has honestly lost count of how many assassin's he has been facing to get to here. He can feel himself getting slightly exhausted but he shoves the feeling down and rushes into the flaming temple.

Rushing towards the main Hall he sees dead Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei. A clear indication that there had been a serious fight here. Finally reaching the main Hall, he is greeted with a site he had been dreading since he entered the village.

The site of corpses and among them the corpse of his father and mother. Time seems to time as he walks slowly towards the dead form of his parents. Despite being dead they still held onto their weapons.

" They fought till the very end" Hanzo thought. Letting out a single tear, his blood begins to boil in rage as he can feel more Lin Kuei entering the Hall hoping to sneak on him.

In a feat of Rage he rushes the his would be attackers hacking and slashing any Lin Kuei foolish enough to come within range. With new found strength lays waste to about a hundred Lin Kueis, with limbs and gut flying everywhere until he reaches the gate of the Fire Garden. Looking back the blood from all the killing seems to have flooded the temple, flowing down towards the gate.

Still trying to catch his breath he hears a chilling voice…

"Enough!" walking towards Hanzo with Satoshi in hand was none other than Sub Zero.

"Sub Zero!" Hanzo growls, rising to his feet. He had encountered the Lin Kuei prodigy once on a mission. Though they crossed blades momentarily there was no definite winner. Now he doubts he could secure a victory.

"Come closer and he dies''. Sub Zero says tightening his grip on Satoshi for more emphasis. Hanzo stops, thinking on how he can save his brother. "Kneel" Sub Zero says. Hesitantly Hanzo starts kneeling.

And then it happened, in almost an instant Sub Zero freezes Hanzo in a giant mass of ice, his head being his only body part not encased in it. Struggling to break free from the ice he stops when he hears Satoshi yell.

"Brother!" Those were his last words before an Icicle split his throat. With Satoshi dead, Sub Zero drops the boy's body like a ragdoll.

"Satoshi!" Hanzo screams, still trying to process his brother's death, before shifting his gaze from his brother to Sub Zero who is casually wiping the blood off his hand. "I'll kill you!". The Ice holding Hanzo starts cracking. Sub Zero raises a brow at his attempt and starts walking towards Hanzo.

"You're going to die for that". Hanzo growls, tears still in his eyes.

"You first". Sub Zero says delivering a skull crushing blow to Hanzo's face, which he then proceeds to grab his throat. Hanzo can only stare in rage as Sub Zero proceeds to rip his head with his spine attached, effectively killing him.

*Present time, "Netherrealms".*

Hanzo's thoughts are interrupted as he hears footsteps approaching him. He raises his head up and sees a Bald Man, with Pale skin as white as snow, like he has never been under the sun. Along with various red tattoos on his face.

"Hanzo Hasashi I presume". More of a statement than a question from the man.

"I am Quan Chi, current ruler of the Netherrealms. You are here to suffer, yet my torturers report that fire does not burn you. Why?".

True to Quan Chi's word, since arriving the Netherrealms any torture method involving the use of fire on Hanzo have been proven to be futile.

"My..My Family…" Hanzo groans, barely above a whisper

Quan Chi had heard him clearly, an evil grin plastering his face. "So you want revenge, yes. I can help you get your revenge but in return, I shall make use of your service".

"It doesn't matter, as long as Sub Zero dies". Scorpion says.

"Very well". Stretching forth his hand which begins to glow green, Quan Chi starts casting a spell on Hanzo. Lifting him from his bounds, Hanzo begins to catch fire. Hanzo starts screaming as Hellfire starts consuming his heart, his mind and conscience. And with that the Ninja Spectre Scorpion is Born.
