A/N: Hello, readers! I'm trying to hurry this arc up so I can get to the GMG arc, which is where my God Pegasus book is currently at.
Enjoy!
CHAPTER TEN: THE DRAGON QUEEN
"Persephone Tray?" Dusk questioned. "Never heard of you."
"Well, that's to be expected. No one has ever heard of me." Persephone replied. "I assume you've head of Acnologia?"
"Of course. Every Dragon Slayer has heard of him." Dusk responded.
"I'm his mate. You may have heard rumors about me. In my dragon form, I go by Ryoko, better known as the Dragon Queen." Persephone said, shocking Dusk.
"What do you want with Akame?" Dusk questioned.
"Oh, it's not me who wants him. It's my daughter, Ally." Persephone replied. "She's the Devastation Dragon Slayer. Taught personally by me, of course. As for why she captured you, she knows that you're important to her brother. Therefore, if she wanted to hurt him-"
"Capture the one he cares about the most." Dusk finished as he scoffed. "What a cliche move."
Persephone smiled. "I won't judge on how she does things, because I would do the same." She stated.
"There must be something you get out of this."
"You're right." Persephone said, stabbing a dagger into Dusk's side as the light purple haired male screamed out in pain. "I get to see the pleasure of hearing your screams."
"What are you, a sadist?" Dusk questioned.
"Oh no, I'm much worse." Persephone replied, stabbing the dagger into Dusk's stomach. "I'm a she-devil in dragon scales."
"Akame, you bastard. I hate being the damsel in distress but you better hurry with your rescue." Dusk thinks to himself.
Meanwhile, Akame and Allyson continued having a stare down. "For sixteen years, I waited until I could have my revenge on you. Now, I finally have my chance!" Allyson exclaimed.
"It doesn't have to be this way, Ally. Just give Dusk back to me and I'll be on my way." Akame told her.
"You care for him don't you?" Allyson asked.
"I do."
Allyson used her knee as she kicked Akame in the stomach. His back hit the wall as he coughed from the debris that had fallen on him. "You used to care about me, too, big brother. But you've forgotten all about me!" She screeched.
"I didn't forget you, I never did." Akame said. "I promise Ally, I still do care."
"Screw you! I was doing endless hours of training! Persephone abused me mentally and physically! She may have taken me in at a young age but she was the worst teacher I could ever have!" Allyson shouted. "And you... You were playing around in some stupid wizard guild!"
Allyson sent another blast towards Akame, who was shoved into the the wall once more.
Somewhere else, Ajar and Loji were walking around the old Horned Serpent guild hall, trying to find Dusk. "Where do you think they have him hidden?" Loji questioned.
"Who knows... But we have to find him quick." Ajar replied.
"I'm afraid we can't let you do that."
The two Twilight Phoenix members stopped in their tracks as they turned around, coming face to face with Quartz and Daisuke. "That's the Dragon Slayer that Akame defeated." Ajar informed, making Quartz irked at his comment.
"I would do anything to have a rematch with that bastard. But it seems Allyson is taking care of him." Quartz stated. "Looks like we have to take out the trash ourselves, Dai."
"I have to agree with you there, Quartz." Daisuke agreed.
"I'll deal with Quartz, you take Daisuke." Ajar told Loji.
"Right."
The two of them charged forward. "Power Pulse Magic: Taser Hand!" Loji shouted as he gripped onto Daisuke and sent electric shockwaves throughout his body as Daisuke crashed onto the ground, not being able to move his muscles.
"Dai!" Quartz shouted, worried about him.
"Not so smart to be easily distracted! Aura Magic: Aura Wave!" Ajar yelled. A sapphire blue Magic Circle appeared as the black-haired male threw his hands out, a wave of light appears and strikes Quartz, pushing him back.
Quartz ends up catching himself on time. "Crystal Dragon's Roar!" He shouted, letting out his breath attack towards Ajar, creating an explosion.
Finally, Daisuke's muscles were back to normal as he stood up. "Nature-Make: Spikes!" He shouted as roots appeared under Loji, throwing him into the air.
"Power Pulse Magic: Striker!" Loji exclaimed, electrifying his right arm and struck Daisuke.
Ajar coughed from the debris that was caused by Quartz's attack before heading straight towards him, holding onto his blue/yellow staff with silver highlights. "Aura Magic: Heaven Slash!" An aura surrounded his staff, giving it a sword outline as Quartz crashed onto the ground, unable to get back up.
"Quartz!" Daisuke cried out. "Shit!"
A light green Magic Circle appeared. "Nature-Make: Vines!" Daisuke shouted as vines appeared and headed for Loji, who easily dodged them as he headed straight for Daisuke.
"Power Pulse Magic: Volt Pulse!" Loji yelled as he fired a short, but strong beam from his hand, sending Daisuke on the ground and unable to get back up.
"You okay there, Ajar?" Loji questioned, walking up to his guildmate.
"I'm feeling great." Ajar responded. "Come on, let's continue our search for Dusk."
"I'm with you there."
As soon as Loji and Ajar left, Daisuke groaned as he got up and crawled over to Quartz who had Peridot next to him. "Quartz, are you all right?" He asked.
"Always am, Dai." Quartz responded.
"What's next for us?"
Quartz sighed to himself. "Perhaps being around darkness and hatred isn't good for us. I know Peridot would want both of us to give up crime for good. Even though he doesn't show it as much." He replied.
"Traveling wizards it is?"
"Until we can find a real family."
"I see. That's good." Daisuke said as his Horned Serpent guild mark slowly disappeared. It was the same for Quartz and Peridot. "Say, Quartz. Can you do something for me?"
"What is it?"
"Take back your given name."
"Dai, you know the story behind that-"
"If you abandon your name and reject who you are, they win." Daisuke interrupted, shocking Quartz. "The best you can do is take back your given name and live. Don't let your father win, Liam."
Quartz chuckled. "You always know the right things to say, do you, Dai?" He asked.
"I try."
Dusk was breathing heavily and trying not to lose consciousness. "Oh? It seems you're still alive. Surprisingly." Persephone commented as she looked at the light purple haired male who just spat out blood on the ground.
His throat was dry from the constant screaming that he did. "I'm getting bored. I'm starting to think none of your guildmates will come for you. Much less that mate of yours." Persephone continued.
"You're wrong..." Dusk mumbled weakly.
"I am? How come?" Persephone questioned.
Dusk managed to let out a painful laugh. "You don't know Akame as well as I do. He cares a lot for the people he loves, and when they get hurt. Well, no one can stop him." He replied.
Persephone took her knife and stabbed it in Dusk's stomach, making him wince in pain. "He's fighting against Ally. His dearest little sister, he won't fight her because she's family, and family only makes you weak in the end." She claimed.
"Family doesn't always mean blood. Akame lived by that saying." Dusk stated as he smirked. "Allyson may be his sister, but that doesn't mean he'll hold back."
"Or at least I hope so..." Dusk added in his head.
A/N: Not me forgetting that I already had Julian and Ajar meet Quartz and Daisuke beforehand, oops. I haven't updated this since January so I forget what I write sometimes. Anyways, I'm finally alive! And I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
