CHAPTER SEVENTY: ALEGRIA
Mira was trying to catch her breath as she glanced at Seilah. "Seilah-sama... Why... did you harm me, too?" Lummy asked.
"Her control doesn't work anymore?!" Lisanna questioned.
Mira soon stood back up as Seilah charged forward again, head butting Mira. "How powerful is she?!" Mira wondered. "No matter how hard I fight, I don't stand a chance against her!"
"If I could just use Take Over on her, I would win..." Mira thinks to herself.
"It's no use. Your Take Over won't work on me." Seilah told her. "I'm going to give myself an order. Tear apart the enemy that's in front of you!"
Mira's clothes were soon ripped to shreds as she screamed. "Mira-nee!" Lisanna shouted.
Mira continued to scream. "Stop it!" Lisanna begged as Lummy slammed her face to the ground.
"Watch as your big sister is slashed to ribbons!" Lummy said as she leaned closer. "By the way, are there any hot guys in your guild?"
"Lisanna... Elfman... I..." Mira's thoughts trail off.
A crowd of people with pitchforks were surrounding a house.
"Get out!"
"Get out of our village!"
"Host to a demon!"
"How long do you plan on staying in the village?!"
"Cursed family!"
"The village's troubles won't be over as long as you people are here!"
A rock was thrown at the window, hitting Mira's head. "Mira-nee! Are you okay?!" Lisanna asked in worry as Mira nodded in reassurance.
"I'm sorry. This is my fault." She apologized.
"It's not your fault, Sis." Elfman reassured.
"If I hadn't gone near that church, this wouldn't have happened..." Mira said, revealing a demon arm as both Elfman and Lisanna stepped back.
"Get out, demon!"
"Get out of our village!"
"Should we drag 'em out?"
"But she's possessed by a demon, so who knows what she'll do?!"
Lisanna walked towards the window. "Lisanna, don't!" Elfman warned.
Lisanna soon opens the window, facing the villagers. "Mira-nee got rid of the evil demon at church! She defeated the demon for the sake of this village... What you're doing is beyond cruel! She was possessed by the demon while defeating it! It's not Mira-nee's fault! It's not her fault!" She shouted before breaking into sobs.
Mira walks over to her younger sister, placing a hand on her shoulder. "That's enough, Lisanna." She said as Elfman began to cry as well. Mira glances over at him. "Don't cry, Elfman."
"We can't stay in this village anymore."
The three siblings were seen walking through the desert and mountains.
"It's so small..." Elfman commented.
"Who cares about that place?" Lisanna asked.
"Let's go." Mira told them.
Mira tried to burn the demon arm over a fire, but silently sobbed as it didn't work.
The three siblings soon reached Magnolia as they walked through the town. They stopped in front of Fairy Tail, seeing Cana, Gray, Natsu, and Levy.
"What's wrong? Are you coming in?"
The three turned to see Makarov walking up to them.
"I am Makarov, the master of this guild."
"Guild?" Mira quoted.
"Look. That's our name." Makarov pointed to the sign.
"Fairy Tail..." Mira muttered.
Makarov took a sip of his booze. "That's Take Over, a kind of Magic. You're not possessed by a demon. The power of a demon resides within you." He explained.
"The power of a demon..." Mira repeated. "I don't need that." She added in her head.
One month later, Mira was sitting at the guild bar when Erza walked up to her.
"I've heard about you, Mirajane. Apparently, you're very talented." Erza said. "How's it going? Are you used to the guild?"
Mira didn't answer her as she walked past Erza. "Hey!" Erza called out.
"Don't bother. She never talks or smiles." Macao informed.
"She just looks dour all the time. Even though her little brother and sister have blended right in." Wakaba added.
"Magic... Demon... I don't need this power. It's disgusting." Mira muttered while clenching onto her arm as she recalled the villagers words.
"I'm not human anymore..." Mira turns to look back at Fairy Tail. "It's a good guild. I know those two will be well taken care of. But I'm going to leave this town. Goodbye, Elfman, Lisanna. I'm sorry."
"Sis!"
"Mira-nee!"
Elfman and Lisanna rushed up to her. "Look!" Lisanna said.
"I bet you'll be surprised!" Elfman claimed.
"Now!"
"Animal Soul: Cat!" Lisanna shouted.
"Beast Soul: Bear!" Elfman said, his hand turned into a bear claw. "Only a claw!"
Mira was in shock. "They taught us." Elfman explained.
"It's Magic, just like yours!" Lisanna added.
"Although I can only change my hand so far..." Elfman stated as tears formed in Mira's eyes.
"You always look lonely, Mira-nee..." Lisanna started to say.
"...so now you won't be, right?" Elfman questioned.
"You two..."
"We'll always be together!" Lisanna said.
"And Magic will be with us, too!" Elfman smiled.
"One-two..."
"Yo!"
Elfman and Lisanna transformed again. Lisanna was a pig. "Huh? Huh?" She questioned more to herself. "It didn't work right!"
"Neither did mine!" Elfman exclaimed as his hand was now a horse foot.
"Can you do work for the guild with magic like that?" Mira asked.
"Sis, you used your power to protect us, and now we'll protect you." Elfman claimed.
"Right!" Lisanna agreed.
"I thought I didn't need this power..."
Mira soon crashed on the ground. "...but if it's a power that can protect my dear family... I'll use it to become a demon or anything!" She thought, grabbing onto Seilah's leg.
"How many times do I have to tell you that Take Over doesn't work on me?" Seilah asked.
Mira soon glowed purple. "Mira-nee! You should escape for now! Get away!" Lisanna shouted.
"If I can control even one part..."
"This is..." Seilah widened her eyes. "Get away from me!"
"What was that fleeting feeling of weakness?" Seilah wondered. "Did she almost succeed with Take Over? Me, an Etherios? She's dangerous! I'll eradicate her immediately!"
"Mira-nee!" Lisanna shouted.
"I trust my own power. I trust the power that can protect my family!" Mira thinks to herself.
"Demon Eyes, open!" Seilah shouted.
"No!" Lisanna screamed.
"This clinches it!" Lummy claimed.
"Begone!" Seilah yelled.
"Your Macro can remotely control someone if they've already been under your power. Right?" Mira asked, causing Seilah to stop in her tracks.
"Is this the weakness I felt before?! She's only taking over my ability?!" Seilah thought.
"That's why I gave an order." Mira said.
"It's useless! Only I can give an order to myself!" Seilah informed.
"I didn't give you an order." Mira told her.
"Elfman... Come to your family's side..."
Elfman comes crashing down as he slams his fist into Seilah. "Elf-nii-chan!" Lisanna exclaimed.
The smoke cleared to reveal a defeated Seilah. "It's over..." Lummy thought, crashing to the ground from shock.
"I'm gonna protect you, Sis!" Elfman claimed.
"Mard Geer, King of the Underworld... The enemy is stronger than we projected. The Face project failed, while Ezel and Franmalth have fallen." Kyoka said.
"Seilah and Hell's Core, as well." Mard Geer stated.
"What...? Then we must awaken the master." Kyoka informed.
"We can't do that. We don't have enough Curse power to revive the master. We can't bring him back unless we eradicate Magic." Mard Geer said.
"The Face project would've done that, but it failed."
"You can't see it, can you?" Mard Geer asked. "You can't see the big picture, Kyoka. That was merely a point."
"A point?" Kyoka repeated.
"No more than one point. Mard Geer is a brilliant tactician. Seen in the grand scheme of things, even the destruction of Face is just one point. That's not a problem. Soon, all the Magic in the world will be gone."
"I don't understand..."
"Kyoka, what are we?" Mard Geer questioned.
"Demons of the Books of Zeref. The Etherious." Kyoka replied.
"What is our purpose?"
"To revive Master END and return to Zeref."
"What are humans?"
"Lifeforms lower than insects."
Mard Geer smirked as plants soon grabbed Kyoka. "Mard Geer-sama! What are you...?!" She started to say.
"You captured a human and played with it." Mard Geer said.
"That was to get information about Face..." Kyoka said.
"You are too fond of humans."
"I swear that isn't true..."
"You have displeased me. I cannot stand the sight of a subordinate who plays with beings that are below insects. Think of this as your punishment. This is not for actually playing with the human. It is punishment for offending Mard Geer." Mard Geer claimed.
"Very well. Thank you for teaching me a lesson." Kyoka said.
"Humans... In the grand scheme, they pose no problem... but I do not like that they have befouled my garden. I believe I will use Alegria."
"The enemy was holding Gray back over there." Lucy informed.
"And I think Mira is somewhere on this floor, too." Natsu added.
'Can everyone hear me?!'
"Warren?" Gray questioned.
"This is a surprise!" Happy said.
Ezekiel dodged an attack from Minerva. "I can hear you! Has something happened?!" He asked.
"Mira is safe. We met up with her." Warren informed.
"Sorry I made you worry about me." Mira apologized.
'Elfman and Lisanna are here, too.' Warren added.
"Thank goodness!" Lucy sighed in relief. "Hey, Warren, can you make it so everyone can hear my voice?"
"Yeah. Wait a second." Warren responded. "Go ahead."
"Wendy and Carla stopped Face! They shot down the enemy's plan!" Lucy informed as two fingers were pressed against her temple.
Her news made everyone cheer. 'So about what happens next...' Lucy trailed off.
"Can Master hear me?" Happy asked.
"Happy? Wait a sec." Warren replied.
'We met the soul of Master Hades.' Happy informed.
This takes Makarov by surprise. "What?!"
"The soul... What does that mean?!" Laki questioned.
"He said that even though we stopped Face, those guys aren't done yet. Hades told me to tell you to 'release the light,' Master!" Happy stated.
"The light?" Makarov repeated before he widened his eyes, knowing what Hades was talking about. "Lumen Histoire?!"
"What did he mean?!" Makarov shouted.
"Don't yell!" Warren complained.
"I don't know, either!" Happy answered as something suddenly fried Warren's brain.
"Warren?"
"Hey!"
Warren gripped onto his head.
"Warren, what's wrong?!"
"Get a hold of yourself!"
"What is it?! Suddenly static..." Gray muttered.
"I got a bad feeling about this..." Zack mumbled.
"You and me both." Akame agreed.
"Warren!" Erza exclaimed.
"The wizards' guild, Fairy Tail, I believe? Along with some Twilight Phoenix members."
Mard Geer's voice brought everyone's attention. "Somebody hijacked Warren's telepathy?!" Jet questioned.
"Who are you, dirtbag?!" Elfman asked.
"Mard Geer, King of the Underworld. But you don't need to remember that. Because there is no tomorrow for any of you." He replied, swiping his hand.
"Alegria."
The ground soon began to shake.
"What the...?! The ground!"
"We're in trouble! The gravitational field is gone!"
"I'm falling!"
"Hold on to something!"
"Take care of Laxus and the others!"
Red-like gooey projectiles began appearing around Gray. "What is this?!" He questioned.
Gray began getting pulled by projectiles. "S-Something is... pulling... my body." He managed to get out.
"The King of the Underworld has made his move?" Keyes questioned to himself.
"The walls!" Lucy noticed.
"I feel sick!" Natsu said before him and Lucy began levitating off of the ground, along with Akame, Zack, Hana, Jim, and Chii.
"What is this?! It's stuck to me!" Lucy exclaimed.
"Lucy!"
"Natsu!"
The two reached for each other's hand. "Lucy..." Natsu muttered before the two got pulled away.
Gray sucked into the projectiles as well.
"What the hell is this?!" Ezekiel wondered.
"You're not getting away, Ezekiel!" Minerva shouted.
"You..." Ezekiel muttered.
"Hold on to me!" Elfman instructed.
"Okay!"
"I'm sinking... into the ground..."
"Somebody... help..." Happy said.
"Mard Geer-sama, all of our guild soldiers will be caught up in this, too." Kyoka informed.
"Invasion. Sacrifices."
The rest of the Fairy Tail Mages were getting pulled in.
"Damn you, Tartaros! Give me Ezekiel back! That's my prey!" Minerva shouted.
"D-Dammit!" Natsu screamed.
"Life and death, hope and despair. A foolish race. This Cube is a giant prison. Inside the body of Plutogrim..." Mard Geer said.
All of the Fairy Tail Mages were frozen inside of Alegria, along with the Twilight Phoenix Mages as well.
"A part of joy... Alegria... What a trivial Curse." Silver commented. "Well, I'm sure we'll never meet again."
Silver then noticed something. "This Magic..."
"Not one, but two people have escaped Alegria's clutches?" Mard Geer asked himself.
Lucy and Hana both onto the ground. "Ow!" She exclaimed.
"What is this? What happened?" Hana questioned.
"The odds are about a billion to one. What luck... Or rather, bad luck, for two people to be left alone in the Underworld with just each other." Mard Geer claimed.
A/N: Yes, I'm having Hana join Lucy's battle, since she's also a Celestial Wizard.
Thanks for reading!
