I wanted to do a quick prologue to quickly go over Naruto's backstory, some important people, and his arrival to Nevermore hence why he dialogue is sparse and things are more or less summarized for this prologue chapter. Really concise but we will have an expansion on stuff covered here on a later date. The next chapter will already be out on my . Same name. New stories yet unreleased and future chapters are there.

Naruto Uzumaki had always been a magnet for trouble and adventure. From a young age, he had an insatiable curiosity and a knack for getting into situations that defied the norm. This propensity for the unusual had shaped his life in ways most people couldn't even begin to imagine. And it was this same propensity that had led him to the gates of Nevermore Academy, a place where the extraordinary was the everyday, and the mundane was nowhere to be found.
Naruto's journey to Nevermore Academy began in a quiet town nestled deep within an ancient forest, far removed from the bustling cities and the humdrum of regular life. This town, with its cobblestone streets and old-world charm, was home to secrets as deep as the roots of the trees that surrounded it. It was here that Naruto had been found as a child, wandering alone, with no memory of how he had arrived there or where he had come from.
The townsfolk had taken him in, and he had grown up among them, learning their ways and stories. But Naruto was different. He was faster, stronger, and more resilient than anyone else. He could perform feats that defied logic and reason, skills that seemed to come to him as naturally as breathing. The old stories spoke of warriors who could move with the shadows, who could blend into their surroundings and strike with the precision of a hawk. Naruto felt a kinship with these tales, as if they were part of a past he couldn't remember.
The town was known as Ashford Hollow, a small, tight-knit community with a population of just a few hundred. Its inhabitants were a mix of ordinary people and those with a touch of the extraordinary, though the latter kept their abilities hidden from the world at large. The town had a timeless quality, with its stone cottages, narrow winding streets, and a central square dominated by an ancient oak tree.
Mayor Elara Whitley was the town's matriarch, a wise and kind-hearted woman who had taken a special interest in Naruto from the moment he arrived. Elara was known for her extensive knowledge of the town's history and its hidden secrets. She had a small library filled with ancient tomes and scrolls, which she allowed Naruto to explore. From her, Naruto learned about the town's legends and the existence of beings that lived in the shadows—spirits, elementals, and other supernatural entities.
Old Man Grimsby was the town's blacksmith, a gruff but good-natured man with a heart of gold. He was the one who taught Naruto the value of hard work and discipline. Grimsby's forge was a place of heat and noise, where the old blacksmith would hammer out swords, tools, and horseshoes with the same skill and dedication. Grimsby also possessed a unique ability—he could imbue his creations with protective charms and wards. Under his tutelage, Naruto learned the basics of enchanting and the importance of crafting tools with care and intent.
Matilda Hargrove, the town's healer, was a gentle woman with an innate connection to the natural world. She knew the properties of every herb and plant in the forest and could brew potions to cure any ailment. Matilda taught Naruto about medicinal herbs, the art of potion-making, and the delicate balance of nature. Her cottage, surrounded by a lush garden, became a sanctuary for Naruto, a place where he could learn and find solace.
Eamon and Aisling O'Connor, a couple who ran the local inn, were the closest thing Naruto had to parents. They treated him as their own, providing a warm bed and hearty meals. Eamon, a former adventurer, shared tales of his travels and taught Naruto the basics of combat and survival. Aisling, with her gentle demeanor and sharp wit, taught him about empathy and understanding. Their inn, The Wandering Spirit, was a hub of activity, where travelers and townsfolk alike would gather to share stories and news.
The forest surrounding Ashford Hollow was a place of magic and mystery. It was home to a variety of creatures, some benign, others less so. The townsfolk had learned to coexist with these beings, respecting their space and understanding the delicate balance that kept the forest and town in harmony.
The Whispering Willows were ancient trees with faces etched into their bark. They could communicate through whispers carried by the wind, sharing wisdom and secrets with those who listened. Naruto often spent hours beneath their branches, learning about the history of the forest and the creatures that dwelled within it.
And then there were the mythical creatures themselves that were at home in the mythical forest.
The Willow Wisps were small, ethereal lights that floated through the forest at night. They were known to guide lost travelers to safety, but they could also lead the unwary astray. Naruto learned to follow their patterns and understood the dual nature of their guidance.
The Shadow Foxes were elusive creatures that could blend seamlessly into their surroundings. They were the true masters of stealth and agility, and Naruto admired their grace. He often tried to mimic their movements, practicing his own stealth techniques in the process.
The Elderglen Stags were majestic and almost ethereal in their presence. They were said to possess the ability to travel between realms, and their antlers glowed with a soft, otherworldly light. Naruto encountered one such stag during his explorations, and the encounter left a profound impression on him. The stag seemed to recognize something within him.
Though it would appear that the tranquil life he lived would not last forever.
One fateful night, the quiet town was attacked by creatures from the shadows—beings of darkness that emerged from the forest, intent on destruction. The townsfolk were defenseless against these creatures, but Naruto was not. He fought with a ferocity and skill that astonished even him, using the techniques he had learned from the scroll. He moved with the grace of a shadow, striking with the force of a storm, and eventually drove the creatures back into the darkness.
However, the attack had changed everything. The town could no longer remain hidden, and Naruto's existence had been exposed. It was then that a mysterious figure appeared before him, clad in dark robes and emanating a powerful presence.
"You have done well," the figure said, his voice resonating with authority. "But your journey does not end here. There is a place where you can learn more, where you can hone your skills and discover your true potential."
The figure handed Naruto an ornate envelope, sealed with a wax emblem. "Nevermore Academy," the figure continued. "It is a sanctuary for those like you, a place where the extraordinary is nurtured and the shadows are embraced. You are destined for greatness, Naruto Uzumaki, but first, you must walk the path of shadows."
The journey to Nevermore Academy was unlike anything Naruto had ever experienced. The envelope contained a map, but the path it outlined seemed to shift and change as he traveled. He walked through forests that whispered secrets, crossed rivers that shimmered with otherworldly light, and climbed mountains that reached into the sky. Each step brought him closer to the academy, and with each step, he felt the pull of destiny growing stronger.
When he finally arrived at the gates of Nevermore, he was greeted by an imposing sight. The academy was a grand structure, its gothic architecture both beautiful and intimidating. Gargoyles perched on the edges of the building, watching over the grounds with stone eyes. The air was thick with magic, and the very ground seemed to hum with energy.
Naruto took a deep breath and stepped forward, the gates opening before him as if recognizing his arrival. Inside, he was met by Principal Larissa Weems, a tall, statuesque woman with an air of authority and mystery.
"Welcome to Nevermore Academy," she said, her eyes assessing him with a mixture of curiosity and approval. "We have been expecting you, Naruto Uzumaki. Your journey is just beginning."
As the days turned into weeks, Naruto immersed himself in the life of the academy. Nevermore was a place of wonder and mystery, filled with students who possessed extraordinary abilities. There were vampires who drank blood from matte-black Hydro Flasks, werewolves who howled at the moon and each other, sirens with mesmerizing voices, and gorgons who could turn people to stone with a glance. Each student had their own story, their own secrets, and their own place in the tapestry of Nevermore.
Naruto quickly adapted to the academy's unique curriculum. He attended classes on ancient magic, supernatural creatures, and combat techniques that seemed to be drawn from the same source as the scroll he had found. He trained with other students, honing his skills and learning new ones, always pushing himself to be better, faster, stronger.
Despite the challenges, Naruto found himself thriving at Nevermore. He formed friendships with his fellow students, drawn together by their shared experiences and unique abilities.
One evening, as the sun set and the shadows lengthened, Naruto found himself standing at the edge of the academy grounds, looking out at the forest beyond. He felt a presence beside him and turned to see Principal Weems.
"You have adapted well," she said, her voice soft but strong. "But there is more to learn, more to discover. Nevermore is a place of secrets, and not all of them are revealed easily."
Naruto nodded, understanding the weight of her words. "I feel like I'm on the edge of something, something big. I just don't know what it is yet."
Weems smiled, a knowing look in her eyes. "That is the nature of the path you walk. The shadows hold many secrets, and it is up to you to uncover them. Trust in your abilities, Naruto. Trust in the journey."
As she walked away, Naruto turned back to the forest, his resolve strengthening. He was no longer the lost child wandering alone. He was a guardian, a protector, a student of Nevermore Academy. And his journey was far from over.
