Sorry it took so long to write this, but I had to read the Fantastic Four comics to help me write this chapter. I know X-Men, I know Spider-Man, but I didn't know Fantastic Four, at least until now. So, I hope that you enjoy this chapter, just some family fluff between Peter and the FF with the FF showing just how much they really care for him. Don't worry, I won't try to do anything too sappy.
Everyone, help me out with Val and Franklin's ages. I've been reading the FF comics, and I am on issue 19 when the FF are on sryfe (I think that is the planet's name). You know the planet where Sky is from. The FF are in some serious trouble with the destruction that they caused and fulfilling the prophecy that was given. Anyway, before that, when the Fantastix were debuting and were fighting, I think it was the Wrecking Crew, Val said that they would pay them double that what the Fantastix agent/publicist was paying them, so the Wrecking Crew stopped and then were arresting. When Wrecker mentioned the payment Val said that she was a teenager, she didn't have that authority. So, Val is a teenager, and Franklin is older than her. The question is how old are they? Fifteen and over? Because in one of the comics Val was shown flirting with an alien that reminded Reed or Namor, and it another Val and Franklin had to take driving tests to get their licenses in order to drive vehicles. So, how old are they? Any guesses?

Chapter 5: Fantastic Family Dinner
Sunday, February 9, 2020, 6:00 pm, New York City, Home of the Fantastic Four
As Peter and Franklin walk through the FF's home, Peter looks around, "I still can't get over how big this place is on the inside," Peter commented to Franklin.
"It's just a matter of folding dimensions. At least that's what Dad says anyways," Franklin said
"I could certainly make use of this, put this in my closet and I'd have enough room to store my Spider-Man stuff, no more renting storage units," Peter said as he and Franklin made it to the living room where Reed and Ben were, the two of the FF hearing what Peter said.
"You know Peter, we do have more than enough room, if you want, you can store your equipment here, you're even free to use the lab. I know that you are one of the only people here who is competent enough not to blow something up," Reed said
"Yeah, bring your gear over Uncle Pete, maybe I can make some improvements," Val said as she walked in the living room.
Peter smiled, "I'm sure you could Val, I'm still in the midst of designing a new spider-armor," Peter said
"I liked your last one, that was really cool," Franklin said, remembering when Peter let him see the armor that he had built. That was really cool.
"Can I see the schematics of the armor Uncle Pete," Val asked
"I don't exactly carry them with me Val. They're stored away in my storage unit," Peter said
"That sucks, Dad and I keep all of our plans with us, all the time," Val said, to prove her point she activates her holowatch and it shows one of her designs.
Peter smiled as he walked up to Val to get a closer look at the design, it looked like some kind of watch. The schematics are quite familiar, a dimensional watch. He wonders how Val would react if he told her that already exists, "Yeah, well I don't have all the fancy gadgets that you guys do. This job would be so much easier if I did," Peter said chuckling, but that got Reed thinking. Peter then walked in the dining room and set the bread on the table, he looked at the open door and saw Sue making dinner, "Hey Sue," Peter greeted
Sue turned around and smiled as she saw Peter, good, she's happy that he's here and didn't get involved in anything crazy. For being a street hero, Peter tends to get involved in some really crazy things. Like that tablet hunting that he is doing with Boomarang, "Hey Peter, is that the bread," Sue asked gesturing toward the bread on the table.
"Yeah, restaurant style, got it from Luigi's. It's nice to buy things now that I have money coming in," Peter said
Sue smiled, she's happy that Peter has a job, even if it is as Spider-Man. She isn't too sure how she feels about everything Peter does being videotaped. They'll have to have Reed check everything out on that suit, maybe he can make a few modifications to it. But at least Peter has a stable income now. That's all that matters to them. She still wishes that he would ask them for help, with one call, she, Reed, Ben, or Johnny could easily get him a job, one of the best and high paying jobs out there. Something that would match his skillset and pay for what his skills are worth. All he'd have to do is ask and they'd do it, but Sue knows Peter, she knows that to Peter that is him taking advantage of them, and he never wants to do that. Still, maybe if they offered, they could convince him. "Dinner's almost ready, how about you head into the living room and wait," Sue said
"Sure, you don't need help with anything, I wouldn't mind, makes me feel like I'm not free loading on you guys," Peter said ready to help in any way he can.
Susan's eyes softened at that, they really are gonna have to work on showing him that he isn't a burden to them, "You're not freeloading off us Peter. Your family and family eat dinner together. I'm ok, really, head on to the living room with the others dinner will be done soon," she said
"Well, alright, if you're sure," Peter said, he then walked out of the dining room and back into the living room.
Ben who was watching a baseball game, noticed Peter enter the living room, "Hey Peter, come on over and watch the game. It's Yankees versus Dodgers," Ben said
Peter made a face, "Yankees, Ben I'm insulted, you know I'm a Mets fan," he said
"So am I, but they ain't playin. The Yankees are representin New York, for now that's good enough for me. Now come sit down and watch the game," Ben said, getting a shrug from Peter who walked over to the couch next to Reed, Franklin and Val joined them and together they watched the game.
It wasn't long till Sue called them all for dinner, together they all sat at the dinner table, but Peter noticed some chairs are empty, "Where are Johnny, Alecia, Jo, and N'Kalla," Peter asked
"Alecia decided to stay out later to work on her sculpture, and the kids decided ta stay with her. You know, you should let her make one of you," Ben said
Peter smiled, "I'm not sure if I'm sculpture worthy," he said
"Yeah, I didn't think I was either, now look at me, I have hundreds of sculptures of me, and I look good. Think about it," Ben said getting a nod from Peter.
"Johnny will be here soon, he is out with Sky," Sue said
"I wonder when I'm gonna meet Sky. I think Johnny is intentionally keeping her from me," Peter said
"He is Uncle Pete, he's afraid that you are gonna tell Sky some embarrassing stories about him," Val said
"Heh, he has a right to be afraid. I have too many stories about him, especially when we roomed together. That was not fun, still wonder how you live with him. I lived with him a few months and I was ready to throw him out the window," Peter said
"HEY, I wasn't that bad," Johnny's said interrupting the conversation as he walked in the dining room, and sat at the table, "You know you weren't exactly a peach to live with either, with your nagging."
Peter rolled his eyes, "Oh yes, my nagging about telling you to clean up your mess. That must have been so awful," Peter said, he then looked at the rest of the table, "Seriously, how are you not tempted to throw him out the window?"
"Who says I ain't, that kid really grates on the nerves. Was nice not living with him. Wish you didn't give him back," Ben said smirking
"Hey, hurtful," Johnny said
"Ok, boys, I'll admit Johnny is a challenge to live with," Sue said
"Even my own sister," Johnny said but was ignored.
"But how about we not pick on him tonight, yeah," Sue said
"Alright," Peter said
"Sure Suzie," Ben said
With that the seven all started eating their food making some ideal chitchat with one another, talking about whatever comes to mind. One of the things that came to mind was their adventure with Bruce Banner and The Hulk. "So, Bruce actually thought that I was dumb," Peter asked trying to clarify what he's heard.
"Not dumb, it's just with your joking demeanor as Spider-Man, people tend to think that's all you are, a jokester. Even those who know differently tend to forget about how smart you are," Sue said
"Yeah, I guess I can understand that," Peter said getting a headshake from Sue, something like that could anger a regular person but Peter just brushes it off. Probably because he's heard worse, from not just villains, but civilians, and even other heroes. Honestly hearing what people said to him always did anger Sue, and not just her, but the rest of the four as well. They know Peter and know that everything that is said isn't true and if other heroes bothered to get to know him then they would see that too.
"It was kind of funny, to see the surprise on Bruce's face when you gave your hypothesis," Sue said
"I heard what Bruce said, and it was funny," Reed said smiling at the memory of hearing Bruce's comment and then seeing the amount of surprise that he had when Peter showed just how smart he was, "I remember him asking me just how smart you were."
"And what did you say," Peter asked curiously
"Same thing that I told you long ago, and that you were one of the smartest heroes in the world, that you match both Tony and myself," Reed said
"Kind of overexaggerating there, don't you think," Peter said, he knows that he's smart, but he's not that smart.
"Peter, you had the same test scores in college that I did at the same age. So no, I don't think I'm overexaggerating," Reed said, honestly the only thing that stops Peter is his funds. If Peter had the same amount of money and access to technology that the FF and Tony did, he has no doubt that he could be the one with a house that has folded dimensions. Sadly, Peter doesn't have the same access that they do. But maybe they can change that, after all he did just offer Peter free use of the lab.
Deciding to move on, because he isn't comfortable talking about his own accomplishments, Peter spoke, "Being the Hulk certainly was something, but you know it also helped me understand Bruce much better. Always having that persona there, just lurking. It was unsettling, and scary, afraid that you were gonna lose control. Bruce helped me through it though, and at the end of it all, I did gain a better understanding of the guy and what he goes through every day. I tell ya, to live everyday like that, it takes a lot of strength," Peter said
"Ok, this is starting to get too deep for me. Let's lighten the subject shall we," Johnny said
"Ok, did I tell you guys that the Hulk knows my identity," Peter said
"WHAT," the table said
"Say that again Pete. The Hulk knows who you are," Ben said making Peter nod.
"Are you sure," Sue asked not sure how to take that news.
"He called me by name. I remember, it was when Bruce was able to take all the radiation from my body. The sun was setting, it was starting to get dark, I decided to sit with Bruce, so he wouldn't be alone when he transformed. Put a comforting hand on his shoulder, when it became night, Hulk was there and he asked me and I quote What are you doing Peter," Peter said
"But how does he remember who you are when Dr. Strange erased everyone's memory," Reed said
"According to Hulk, Banner forgot but he didn't," Peter said
"The Hulk, truly can be a mystery," Reed said
"So, a rampaging monster knows your secret identity," Johnny asked getting a nod from Peter, "How are we supposed to take this?"
"I don't think there's anything to worry about. Because after that Hulk thanked me for sitting with Banner, said that Bruce was his family. Said that I was a good man and that he would remember that the next time we meet," Peter explained
"So, not only does a rampaging monster know who you are, but now you are friends with the guy? How is that fair," Johnny complained
Peter shrugged, "Hey we guys who people tend to hate got to stick together. At least I won't get smashed the next time we run into each other. At least I hope I don't," Peter said
"Yeah, and while you are being the Hulk's buddy, he's gonna be smashing me," Johnny said
"Don't worry Uncle Johnny, I'm sure after he lets the Hulk smash you a few times, Uncle Ben will save you," Franklin said
"Thanks that makes me so much better," Johnny said sarcastically.
"I'll probably let him do it more than a few more times, then again you did give me a good bachelor party, so maybe it will be a few times, five max," Ben said
"I'm still peeved that I wasn't invited to your bachelor party," Peter said getting a groan from Ben but amused smiles from everyone else, they always thought that it was funny how Peter annoys Ben with him not being invited, no matter how long it's been since then.
"When are you gonna let that go," Bun said
"Probably the same time when I let go of the fact that you picked me up by the back of my shirt and sat me somewhere else," Peter said remembering when Reed summoned everyone who was part of the Fantastic Four to help fight some dimension destroyer. "And I was gonna give Franklin such an inspirational speech too."
"You were gonna give him the same with Great Power Comes Great Responsibility speech. Seriously the first couple of times it's inspirational but when you keep doing it, it just becomes repetitive. I mean I get that's your moto and something that you live by, and I respect that, but seriously get some new material with those speeches," Ben said
"Well, I think that it would have worked," Peter said
"I was looking forward to hearing it," Franklin said
"Seriously," Ben asked Franklin incredulously.
"Yeah, I mean your speech worked Uncle Ben, but I was really disappointed that I didn't hear Uncle Pete's speech," Franklin said
"Unbelievable, you know what next time I won't say anythin how's that. I'll just stay out of it," Ben said frustratedly
"Sure, that sounds good, till then I'll keep that speech tucked away for ya Fraklin, you know when you need some inspiration," Peter said
"Awesome," Franklin said, being given a speech like that from Spider-Man, he's sure gonna record it.
"Now about the bachelor party," Peter said
"I'll clobber ya Peter, I swear I will," Ben threatened
"I just think that it isn't fair that you invited Tony Stark, Thor, and some space guy, but you didn't invite me," Peter said
"Why are you complaining, I mean you crashed the bachelor party, and then the serpent society attacked," Ben said
"You can't blame that on me, they were most likely gonna attack anyway. Besides, I think Thor was enjoying the fight," Peter said
"He was, I was right next to him, he had the biggest smile on his face. That guy needs help," Johnny said
"Too many masks and something like that happens," Ben said
"But Uncle Ben, everyone you invited was a hero, you should have seen that coming. Uncle Pete's right, kinda stinks that you didn't invite him," Valeria said
"And once again Valeria proves why she is the smartest there is," Peter said
Ben groaned, "Look, I didn't invite Spider-Man, but I did invite you. You, Peter Parker, it ain't my fault you came as the web-head," he said
"And how would we explain that you know me. Everyone knows that Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four have close relations but how would you explain me," Peter said
"You're kiddin right. Pete, you are considered as one of the people who is involved with the superhero community. If only because you took pictures of yourself, not to mention you've taken pictures of us and other heroes, and you have even been seen talking to other heroes after you took their pictures. Believe it or not, it wouldn't be the hardest thing to explain. Practically everyone there knew who you were," Ben said
"Except the space guy," Peter said
"Except Quill," Ben said
"Wait did you say Quill," Peter asked recognizing the name.
"Yeah, Peter Quill. What you know him," Ben asked curiously
Peter was stuck for a moment, the mention of Kitty's ex-boyfriend really got him that he slipped, well good thing he has an answered, "I think that Flash mentioned him before, says he's a good guy, tends to joke," Peter said
Ben narrowed his eyes, he caught the pause, and he doesn't believe that Flash mentioned Quill to Peter. Yet there was recognition on Peter's face when Quill was mentioned. The question is how does Pete know Quill when Ben is sure that they never met. Yeah, Pete is keeping something from them, the question is what? What is he involved in? Is it space related? Did the Guardians draft Peter? He wishes that Pete would just tell them. Taking a look around the room, Ben can tell that the others are thinking the same thing.
Finally, Johnny decides that it is time to just bring up the elephant in the room, "Ok Pete, I think that I'm just gonna put this to rest," Johnny said getting curious looks from the table.
"Put what to rest," Peter said as he took a bite of his pasta.
"Listen, we all know that you are hiding something, and we'd honestly like to know," Johnny said
"You all think that I'm hiding something," Peter asked getting uncertain looks from the other occupancies from the table, none of them are sure how to proceed with this.
Sue sighed and decided that they had to be honest, that's what families do after all, they're honest with each other, "Peter, we've all known you for a long time. We've had holiday dinners together with you, May, and Mary Jane. Do you really think that we can't tell when you're keeping something from us. You're good at keeping secrets from other heroes Peter, but we've learned when to tell," she said
"We try not to pry Peter, but we can't help but worry what this secret is," Reed joined in.
"Ya normally keep secrets when you don't want others ta be involved. The question we have, what don't ya want us ta be involved in," Ben said
"We just want to know, if you're in danger. Peter, you know that you can come to us. All you have to do is ask and we'd be there in an instant, just like we know that you'd be there for us," Sue said
Peter looked around and saw that everyone really was worried about him. Wow, he can't help but feel bad, he didn't know that he was worrying them. The truth is Peter isn't just keeping his and Kitty's relationship a secret, there is another secret that he has. But this secret doesn't involve them, and it isn't like he's alone in what he's doing. Truth is he doesn't even do it that much, he much prefers to stay in New York. Forgetting that secret for now, maybe he should just tell them that he's dating again. It could throw them off for a while, he knows that he'll have to tell eventually, but just not today, too many things are going on. Besides when he thinks of it, revealing that he has a girlfriend could be fun. A good way to torture Johnny. With that Peter sighed and looked at everyone, "Look guys, other than the normal amount of danger that a street hero like me gets in. I am involved in nothing that dangerous. But you are right I have been keeping a secret," Peter said
"Is it that you're trying to find a girlfriend but can't, and you are just too ashamed to tell us. Because dude I can help you with that," Johnny said
"JOHNNY," Sue said
"What? What else could he be hiding? Unless, he's being evicted, but how could he be evicted with that sweet job he has now. I mean, seriously I'm jealous. Wait, you're not being evicted are you," Johnny asked
Peter rolled his eyes, "No, Johnny, I'm not being evicted," he said
"Then what are you keeping from us webs, seriously," Ben said
Peter sighed, "You really want to know," he asked
"Yeah, of course we do. Franklin and I have been arguing about it for a while," Valeria said
"Alright, I'll tell you. The truth is that I have a girlfriend," Peter said
"WHAT," the fantastic family said
"You have a girlfriend," Sue asked getting a nod from Peter.
"Since when," Johnny asked surprised as well.
"Well, our first date was December 20th, our second date was the 28th, we decided that we really liked each other and wanted to see where we could go. So, we decided to make it official then," Peter said
"So, you've had a girlfriend for a month-and-a-half and didn't tell me," Johnny asked
"We didn't tell anyone, the only ones who know are Bobby, and Angelica," Peter said
"Wait! So, the ice cube knew, but I didn't. me, your best friend," Johnny said incredulously making Peter roll his eyes at him.
"How did you meet her," Franklin asked, both he and Val are very interested now.
"Yeah, tell us," Val said a bit excitedly, she's happy for her uncle. That he was able to find someone, well as long as he didn't get back together with Mary Jane.
"I'd like to know who she is, and why didn't you tell us," Johnny said a little miffed at not being told but obviously Bobby was.
"Well, believe it or not, but Bobby set us up," Peter said
"Bobby? Why," Sue asked wondering why Bobby would set Peter up on a date.
"He said that I needed a girlfriend, he wanted me to see that I can be with other women who aren't Mary Jane. So, he set me up on a blind date," Peter said
"Bet you hated that," Ben said
"Oh, I did," Peter said
"And you said yes," Reed asked, he knew Peter, and he knew that Peter isn't the type of man who goes from one girl to another. He normally takes his time to come to terms with his breakup before he tries dating again.
"Well, I said no at first, but somehow, I don't know how. Bobby convinced me to go on the date. He didn't tell me much about her, all he told me was that she was a former X-Man," Peter said
"So, you're dating one of the X-Men," Ben asked getting a nod from Peter, "Anyone find this familiar? I feel like this is familiar somehow. It's on the tip of my tongue. Damn, this is gonna bother me until I figure it out."
"Former X-Man, she's not part of the team anymore," Peter corrected
"Why didn't you tell us you were dating someone," Sue asked
"We weren't sure how we were gonna work out. I mean when you think about it, I don't even think that you could have called us friends. We were more acquaintances," Peter said
Something then occurred to Reed, "Peter, does she know, who you are," Reed said
"Yeah, you're not dating her as Spider-Man are you, because that was weird enough when you were doing that thing with the Black Cat," Ben said
Johnny whistled, "Man that was one fine lady, can't believe that you broke up with her. Man, if I was with her," he said, but stopped when he saw the warning looks from the adults of the table.
"To answer your question Ben, no I am not dating her as Spider-Man, but yes she does know who I am," Peter asked
"You told her," Susan asked in surprise, the rest of the family following suit, that is so unlike Peter, telling someone who he is, even though they have been dating for a month-and-a-half, he'd normally wait longer than that. Peter is very guarded with his identity even with other heroes, only a few X-Men know who Spider-Man is behind the mask. There must be more to this.
Peter shook his head, "No I didn't tell her, Bobby did," he said
"Bobby told her," Valeria asked, not sure if she should feel angry with Iceman for revealing her uncle's identity to someone without his consent.
"What was he thinking," Sue asked, not at all pleased with the revelation, she is gonna have to have a talk with Bobby when she next sees him. Extended family or not, you do not break family's trust like that.
"Bobby said that it was to save us of all the drama that came with me having a secret identity. Not to mention, she would have figured it out in no time, and now that I know her as well as I do now, I have to agree with him on that. It probably would have taken her a week, maybe two to figure me out," Peter said
"Ya still want me ta clobber him because I will. Just say the word, and I'd turn Iceman inta ice cubes," Ben said
"Thanks Ben, but I already gave Bobby a piece of my mind, and I warned him not to do that again," Peter said
"So, who is she," Johnny asked interested which X-Babe Peter is dating, because there are a lot of babes in the X-Men, and all of them hot, sexy, you name the word, that's what they are.
In response Peter smirked, "I think I'm gonna keep that to myself," he said
"WHAT, WHY," Johnny said
"Come on Uncle Peter, tell us," Franklin said
"Yeah, we wanna know who our new aunt is gonna be. You know after you marry her," Val said, already a ton of possible candidates are being listed in her head, one who her uncle could be with based on qualities, attitude, and compatibility. Ben himself was listing people off on who the girl could be. She had to be someone who knew Quill that much was obvious so that narrowed it down somewhat. He still feels like he should know this, it sounds so familiar to him.
Peter blushed a little at the implication, but he was able to fight it down, "Val, we've been dating for about two months. Something like marriage is some ways off," Peter said
"You never know Uncle Pete, they do have reality shows where they marry off couples," Franklin said getting raised eyebrows in return. "Val hogs the TV, so I'm forced to watch them," he said blushing.
"I think that they're entertaining," Val said
"Anyways, who is she," Johnnay asked
"Nope, not telling," Peter denied
"Why," Johnny said but Susan knew why.
"You're doing this to torture Johnny aren't you," Sue said, knowing just how much Peter and Johnny like to screw with each other sometimes.
"Yep," Peter answered
"You're a dick Peter," Johnny responded scowling at his friend.
"In all seriousness Peter, we would like to meet her," Sue said
"It would be interesting which of the X-Men would catch your attention," Reed said
"Not to mention, we can check them out, ya know the X-Men, the mutants, they just ain't actin right. They changed, and I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing," Ben said
"I can assure you Ben that she is a great woman, you would all like her," Peter said
"You tell us who she is then we can really tell you if we like her," Jonny said
"Um no," Peter answered Johnny.
"If you wouldn't mind Peter, how about before you introduce her to May you bring her over so we can meet her," Sue said
"That sounds like a plan," Ben said
"Yeah," Van said
"Sounds awesome," Franklin said
"That would be interesting," Reed said
"I'll find out before then," Johnny said
Seeing that they were all serious about meeting Kitty, Peter spoke, "Well, alright, if that's what you want," Peter said making the family smile.
With that the family all finished their dinner, they were then able to coax Peter into staying longer to watch some TV and play some games. Peter had even got to go to the lab with Reed, and Val to work on some projects with them. One of the projects was looking through Peter's new Spider-Man suit.
Peter, Reed, and Val were all in the lab with Peter's new Spider-Man suit on the table. Just as Sue wanted Reed is now looking through the suit making sure that everything is working as it should. Peter and Valeria are with him to give their own inputs as well they are both curious. Peter is kicking himself of just using a suit that was given to him. He should have checked the suit out himself, guess he was just too excited to be finally making money. Not to mention it give Peter a chance to learn more about unstable molecules.
"I have to admit Peter that this is a fine suit that they gave you," Reed said
"It's a cool suit, looks really futuristic Uncle Peter," Franklin said as he looked at the suit.
"Yeah, but we still prefer your red and blue suit. It's iconic," Valeria said
"Well, I'll see if I can get the color changed," Peter said
"The fact that they were able to make a suit that increases your strength, speed, not to mention augmenting your spider-sense. Fascinating," Reed said
"So, what do you think Reed, it looks like that everything works the way that it is supposed to," Peter said.
Reed found the suit interesting, how it increased Peter's speed and strength, not to mention it augmenting Peter's spider-sense. It makes Reed wonder though; how do they know anything about Peter's spider-sense. The best description that Peter gave the media was that it was a danger sense. He was never descriptive with anyone.
"It seems ok, but I want you to be careful Peter. Something about this doesn't seem right to me," Reed said
Peter groaned, "Something good can just never happen to me, there is always a catch, Parker Luck kids, Parker Luck," he said
Reed chuckled at Peter's complaining of Parker Luck. He still doesn't believe in that, he'd happily debate of the nonexistence of Parker Luck but right now they have some work to do. "It could be nothing Peter, just be careful. Till then I think that it would be necessary to make a few modifications to this suit," he said
"I'm up for it. What do you have in mind," Peter asked
"Oh, I have a few ideas," Valeria said
"Well, let's get to work," Reed said, with that the three geniuses got to work on the suit.
After making a few adjustments (safety measures) to Peter's suit, Peter had put it back on and made it disappear. After all that, it was late, and Peter decided it was time to go home. But the FF family wouldn't let him, instead the family was able to convince him to stay the night.
Sue is shown showing Peter to a bedroom door and opened it. The room was a decent size with a bed against the wall, a nightstand with a lamp on it next to it, next to the nightstand is a six-drawer dresser, and across the room is a desk and next to it is a closet, "Well here you go," Sue said
Peter walked in the room and looked around, "Nice accommodations," he said sincerely
"Well, I'll let you get to sleep," Sue said as she was about to close the door.
Just then though. Peter's talk with Kitty entered his mind, "Hey Sue," Peter said
"Yeah," Sue asked stopping the door.
"Thanks," Peter said surprising Sue, "Thanks for doing all this, inviting me to dinner, and that kind of thing. It's nice to be around people that I don't have to pretend with."
Sue smiled at that, "We enjoy having you Peter, I've said it before and I'll say it again, your family, and we always help our family," Sue said
"I know that I can be difficult at times. I guess it's hard sometimes, I'm used to taking care of myself," Peter said rubbing the back of his neck, "I just want you to know how much I do appreciate this."
"Boy that girlfriend certainly seems to be a good influence on you," Sue said smiling.
"She did mention that it is possible that you guys want me around," Peter said
"She'd be right," Sue said, she then walked closer to Peter and touched his shoulder. "I know that you have had to take care of yourself for a long time Peter, with no one to lean on, it's hard to get out of that mindset. But we're here Peter, we enjoy your company, we like it when you're here. When you are here, it's like our family really is complete. We'll always be here for you Peter, and we're gonna convince you that. You're not a burden, you're our brother, and Franklin and Valeria's uncle. We love you Peter, all of us do," Sue said, she then kissed Peter's cheek, "Good night," she said as she then walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Peter watched the door for a moment, he then smiled. Peter then walked up to the light switch and turned off the light. He then took off his jeans leaving him in his shirt and boxers. Peter hung his jeans over the chair, he then walked to the bed pulled the covers down a bit and got in covering himself. Peter then got his cellphone and texted Kitty.
'Going to bed, talk to you later. Goodnight,' Peter texted
Seconds later there was a ping notifying him of a text. Peter looked down at the screen and saw the response.
'Talk to you later sweety. I'll text or call after the mission is done. Goodnight,' Kitty had texted back.
Smiling, Peter turned off his phone and placed it on the nightstand. He then laid his head on the pillow closed his eyes and fell asleep.
