Beautiful Smile
The remaining members of Total Drama Island 2023 (Priya, Julia, Caleb, Wayne, Raj, and Damian) were taking part in a memory game, where they saw a screen full of pictures of their former fellow contestants. Then, once the screen went off, they were supposed to find the camper that the hosts, Chris McLean and Chef Hatchett, said using their tablets. If they picked the wrong person, however, they would get a special punishment, which worried the campers, since Chris was known to get very…creative with some of his punishments to the point where the Impractical Jokers would be jealous. The first competitor to ten points would win and receive immunity in the elimination vote that happened at the end of every episode. However, only two entries in, and Priya's excitement and confidence increased exponentially, as the familiar face of her girlfriend, Millie, was shown on the screen.
"Oh! It's Millie!" Priya said excitedly, jumping up and down at the sight of the picture of her girlfriend, consisting of a shy smile.
"Oh! It's your loser girlfriend!" Julia countered mockingly, jumping up and down with a fake smile on her face, causing Priya to shoot her a nasty glare. Julia had been getting on her nerves recently, the two exchanging some nasty words and swift strikes during some of the recent challenges. Priya had never liked Julia, since she was always bullying Millie, even making Millie cry a couple of times. Priya remembered the times in season 1 when she would have to comfort Millie because she had been reduced to tears because of Julia bullying her. Julia, however, paid no attention to Priya's glare, and cast her attention instead to the giant screen in front of her, which was now blank, and consisting of multiple smaller black squares, each one consisting of a different picture.
"Too easy," Julia said to herself before pressing one of the squares on her tablet. The other campers did the same, but all the campers looked at the screen wide-eyed as multiple squares were turning green at once, and when Julia turned around, she found out why; Priya was clicking on them with a wide smile on her face, still looking at the screen. "Hey! She can't do that! That's cheating!"
"I don't remember the rules saying that I couldn't!" Priya countered while continuing to click on various squares. Julia looked over at Chris, thinking of whether or not to plead her case of cheating to him. However, Julia thought about it more and realized that Chris had never been one for really caring about cheating unless it affected him personally. Plus, if he did decide today would be the day he decided to care about cheating, who's to say that he wouldn't punish Julia for all her cheating attempts, of which there were many?
"Pfft. Whatever, it's not like she got all of them right anyway," Julia told herself, waiting for Chris to reveal the answers. Julia smirked confidently when she saw that she had gotten her guess right. Damian had also gotten the guess right, but to her shock, every single square that Priya had selected was revealed to be Millie. Damian didn't look as surprised, and the other campers, well…they would've probably been surprised if they weren't being chased by geese or being drowned in orange soda.
"WHAT!? That cannot be right! There's no way Priya of all people was able to get all of those right!" Julia complained, causing Priya to shoot another glare at her.
"Excuse you! If there's one thing I know as much as I do about Total Drama, it's Millie. I can recognize and remember that beautiful smile anywhere," Priya said, a hand resting on her cheek, as her eyes got a little glazed over, the image of Millie smiling at her stuck in her brain. At least, it was until Julia let out another condescending scoff, childishly knocking the tablet out of Priya's hands.
"'Beautiful'? Pfft. I've seen Chef cook more beautiful things," Julia mumbled under her breath. However, she mumbled that insult loud enough for an irate Priya to hear. Priya responded by pressing a button on Julia's tablet, revealing not Millie, but MK (Mary Kate), another contestant who Julia was rumored to have a crush on, resulting in a large gust of wind blowing from underneath Julia, sending her straight into the air. Damian and Priya looked up at Julia flailing around in the air and yelling at someone to put her down with smiles on their faces.
"You really think she'd learn by now not to mess with Millie when you're around."
"You'd think, but little Miss. Wannabe influencer isn't as smart as she thinks," Priya responded, giving Damian a friendly high-five. After a few minutes, order was restored, and the campers were back on their spot in the field, with a disheveled Julia glaring at a beaming Priya while mumbling curses under her breath.
"Well, since Priya got every single one of her guesses for Millie correct, she's scored more than 10 points, and is therefore the winner of the challenge," Chris said with Priya letting out a celebratory 'Woooo!' in response. "However, since we still have some TV time, we're going to continue the competition with everyone else. Priya has won immunity for tonight, and therefore, the person who wins this next round of the game will also win immunity. Good luck," Chris explained. Priya stuck her tongue out at Julia before strutting away from the field, giving Damian a good-luck pat on the shoulder before heading back to her cabin. Priya decided that she would have her daily talk with Millie a little earlier than usual so that she could get a head start to the dining room for dinner. Millie would no doubt be happy about hearing how Priya had toppled her bully in the challenge and embarrassed her as well. Priya couldn't wait to tell Millie as her confident strut turned to an elated skip as she headed straight for the direction of her cabin, occasionally hearing the scream of one of her fellow contestants behind her.
She really hoped that was Julia.
