You woke up feeling drained, you could barely get out of bed. If it weren't for Sun, you probably wouldn't have eaten breakfast. Your robotic roomie noticed your mood immediately, but didn't want to come off as nosy or overbearing. Unfortunately, he was both of those things.
Sun approached you as you put your dish up.
"... Sunshine.. What's with the frown?" He asked, tilting his head like a sad puppy.
"I'm fine.. Just… don't worry about it." You mumbled, waving him off and trying to walk off. Before you could do so, he gently grabbed your shoulders and put his face up close to yours.
"Friend.. If I can't worry about it, can I at least cheer you up?" He sounded so sad, so desperate. He made it very hard to say no.
You sighed, not wanting to see him like that anymore. "I- Sure.."
Sun bounced on the balls of his feet and clapped his hands. "Yay!" He grabbed and held you in a bear hug for a good thirty seconds. "Now! How can I help you? Do you wanna go for a walk? Ooh, or do you wanna color instead?! Or do you maybe just need some help getting ready today?"
Trying to answer was overwhelming already, but you got out what you could. "Um.. The last one sounds nice.."
Before you could ask what he wanted to do, you were lifted into his arms and held like a toddler on his shoulder. You were too stunned to speak and just let him carry you. Sun hummed as he carried you to the couch and plopped you down gently.
"Sooooo, how's a good ole hair brushing sound?" He asked merrily, hands clasped together.
"Alright.." You said quietly, and waited as he went to get the brush.
"Okie dokie friend, are ya ready?!" He asked, spinning around before falling back beside you.
You simply nodded and let him pull you closer. He was very gentle, and very careful. Sun grabbed your hair one small chunk at a time, brushing through with the attention of someone who was in love with their craft. He took care of you the way you'd tend to a beloved toy. He brushed out every little tangle, squeezing your shoulder tenderly at any sign of pain. Once he was done, Sun set the brush to the side, and hugged you again. He nuzzled his face against your shoulder.
"Mmmm, and does my bestest friend feel any better now?!" He asked energetically.
You smiled softly. "Yeah… I think I do."
"Yayy!" He squeezed you even tighter for about a minute before letting go and started to rub your shoulders.
"You know, I love seeing my friends happy." Sun beamed down at you, continuing to gently massage your shoulders.
