Chapter One: Late Night Run Ins

Later at night as Alexis is digging around in a bush she soon stops hearing someone walking nearby.

"Hello? Is someone there?" A male voice asks as Alexis stays hidden in the bush.

"Who are you?" Alexis asks.

"You first." The voice says.

"My name is Alexis. What about you?" Alexis asks.

"Well Alexis I'm Timmy or Tim." The voice says.

"Well Timmy or Tim it's nice to meet you." Alexis says as she chuckles.

"Can you come out of the bush? I'd like to see who I'm talking to." Timmy says.

"You're not going to attack me are you?" Alexis asks cautiously.

"Don't worry. I prefer to judge people before I attack them." Timmy says as he chuckles.

"Hey you're just a kid." Alexis says as she comes out of the bush and sees Timmy is a mouse in a blue vest.

"I'm not a kid. I'm 17 years old. You aren't much older from the looks of it." Timmy says annoyedly.

"No I'm 17 as well." Alexis says.

"What were you doing in that bush?" Timmy asks curiously.

"Gathering berries. My friend and I are hungry and I saw them and thought it would be an easy meal." Alexis says as she gestures to a nearby bag filled with berries.

"Smart." Timmy says.

"Thanks." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.

"I've never seen you around here before. Are you new?" Timmy says.

"Yes. I'm not from around here." Alexis says.

"Where?" Timmy asks curiously.

"Let's just say I'm from a place that's not so friendly." Alexis says.

"I'm from a pretty friendly place." Timmy says as he smiles.

"That's nice." Alexis says.

"You said you had a friend with you?" Timmy asks.

"Yes." Alexis says as she goes over to her bag.

"Where are they?" Timmy asks.

"Stay in a small burrow we built nearby. She thought it be best if only one of us went out. Safety reasons." Alexis says.

"I get that. Well if you guys are needing food or a place to stay I might be able to help with that. You could stay where I'm staying. We have plenty of food and you'll both be safe." Timmy says as he watches Alexis try to pick up the bag with no luck.

"Thanks and you're sweet but I don't trust strangers I just met that quickly." Alexis says as she struggles to lift the heavy bag of berries.

"I understand. Well would you like some help carrying that bag? It looks heavy. You definitely got enough food for a few days." Timmy says as he goes over to Alexis.

"That would be nice. Thank you." Alexis says as she looks at Timmy and smiles slightly.

"You're welcome." Timmy says as he smiles kindly.

*Timeskip*

"Okay this is about as far as you can come. I told my friend I wouldn't let anyone know of our location. I can go get my friend to help me from here." Alexis says as she and Timmy put down the bag of berries.

"Alright. Well it was nice meeting you Alexis." Timmy says as he smiles.

"You as well Timmy." Alexis says.

"I gotta get going but if you ever need any help or change your mind on my offer let me know." Timmy says as he turns to leave.

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind." Alexis says kindly as she watches Timmy leave.
