Hope first sees it when Jane gets in her face about hurting Maura. She's just too protective over her friend for it to only be friendship causing her to worry, there has to be something else behind it, something that they're potentially not even aware of.
So she stands and takes it, she knows she deserves it, and she also now sees that it comes from a place of love, and there's no way she's going to say anything to upset the woman who clearly loves her daughter deeply.
Hope smiles to herself, she is going to do the best she can to stay in her eldest daughter's life, both because she loves her and wants to be in Maura's life, but also because she really wants to be there when they two realise how they feel about each other.
