Pre Genin Days Arc II
2 years had passed since Naruto encountered Temari and faced off against the Ghost shinobi. Now it's night time in Kusagakure.
Shizune is in her room asleep, Naruto with Gatsu on his belly, dressed in pajamas with a frog cap snoring with a drool hanging out his mouth.
Tsunade looked over at them with a soft smile on her face, drinking sake. Sitting on her chair, relaxing until.
"Hey there beautiful." Causing the woman to nearly fall out of her chair.
"Jiraiya!" Covering her mouth, not wanting to wake up the others.
"Stop popping up like that, you perverted fool." Scolded his blonde teammate/lover.
Rubbing his nose, "Sorry I can't help myself, your reactions are making my day." Showcasing his smile.
Tsunade sighs before getting up to hug him, returning the hug back before letting go.
"Let's take this outside." Motioned the toad Sage.
Outside, both sannin on the rooftop, feeling the soothing breeze, as both had a little chat about their time apart.
Sharing equal laughs before Tsunade stops, face looks lost in thought.
"Jiraiya..there's something that bothers me a little." Tsunade says worryingly.
Raised eyebrows,"Oh yea? About?" Pushing for more context.
"Naruto, of course. His compassion for those he cares about is sweet and I know he means well, but the way he goes about others especially on missions-"
"He is a shinobi after all, sure he's young but your father, his biological father, Minato killed younger than him." Cut off the sage.
Tsunade shakes her head. "That's different, my father lived in a time where kids were sent to early deaths and Minato was a war orphan from a destroyed village in the Land of Wind." Explained his lover.
"It seems from Naruto he doesn't hesitate and thinks it's nothing more than a game."
"Hime you might be-" Reaches out towards her, which she shrugs off.
"He just recently killed a group of family shinobi Jiraiya!" Burst Tsunade, overwhelmed.
Stopped in his tracks, Jiraiya hand dropped, silent.
"Sure, they tried to steal from Shizune, and he didn't kill the children but everything happened so fast, she said their bodies were gutted."
"I know how you feel, it's definitely alarming behavior, the boy is blood thirsty." Now close to Tsunade, arm over her shoulder as she nestles closer in the embrace.
Staring now at the sky. "I love my Naru-chan, but the way Shizune explained it. He did it with a smile on his face and he didn't care that children watch their parents be executed in front of them."
'Minato used to tell me Kushina had similar tendencies. Is this from the influence of Kurama?'
Lost in thought, Tsunade looks up in Jiraiya's eyes. "Jiraiya?"
Snapped too, he looks back at her with a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, I'll be taking the gaki on a little trip. He's my responsibility too, you know." He chuckled, giving off his signature grin.
Tsunade simply nods her head, returning his smile before going in for a kiss.
Kusagakure(Memorial)
It's now morning time, the sun glaring as Naruto is still rubbing his eyes, following his father.
"Where are we going old man?" He yawned.
Jiraiya kept pace, ignoring his adopted son's complaints."Almost there, now quit your complaining."
The sage stopped as did Naruto. There they are at the grave site, hundreds of tombstones, with one huge memorial stone, names of clansmen.
"Woah so many names written on that stone, what happened here?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Here are the names of the shinobi who fought each other. This was the greatest battle between the Senju clan and Uchiha." Jiraiya explained.
Naruto's interest grew, visualizing how this battle came out.
"You know son, you remind me a lot of the first hokage." Commented the sannin.
His ears perked at the comparison, "Wait really!? Kaasan told me a lot of stories about ojiisan, I always wanted to be as strong as him."
Jiraiya looks down at Naruto, hearing his excitement about the First.
Deciding to continue on with his point, "But there's things you still need to work on, Hashirama is known as the greatest shinobi of all time, but not for his strength, his compassion and willingness to forgive."
Naruto nods his head as his father continues on.
"Naruto, you are strong and I believe one day you'll find peace myself, and your biological father Minato entrusted you with." Jiraiya said as he placed his hand on his son/student's shoulder.
Disgust is shown on the boy's face at the mention of Minato, but he tries to hide it, which Jiraiya notices.
'He knows of his actual father but whenever he's mentioned the boy feels sad and angry.'
"Let me tell you the story about an assassin that attempted to kill Hashirama." Getting back on topic.
Taken aback, not believing someone was foolish enough to try such a thing.
Jiraiya went on to tell him about a man from Takigakure who tried to kill Hashirama but failed miserably.
Not understanding why someone as powerful as Hashirama let someone live.
"Ojiisan should have killed him, why didn't he?" Questioned the boy.
"That's a good question, Most cases it's justified to retaliate back and kill but then at what cost? Hate? Revenge? Honestly, that's the daily life of a shinobi who is tasked with such decisions."
"But in the end, I believe he knew that once he showed how futile it was his asiliant wouldn't try again." Silence followed for a few minutes as both of them collected their thoughts.
Now squatting down, eye level with the boy. "I'm telling you this because you'll learn when to kill or let it go with a warning, I heard about that incident between you and Shizune. I want you to at least rationalize situations, it doesn't always have to be a life or death."
Naruto felt some guilt by his actions, his head lowered, but Jiraiya raised his head back.
"I don't want you to feel bad, but learn. You probably did the right thing by taking their lives. At your age you have more guts to take a life than I ever did." Said Jiraiya as flashes of his old friend came to mind.
Standing back up rubbing the boy's head."Alright I'm done lecturing you for now. Honestly kid you got more balls than men that have been in wars."
Eyes lit up, "Really?"
Jiraiya nodded his head, continuing."Ya damn right, in 2 years you'll be Konoha's best genin." Praised the sannin, they both head back to where their family is resting.
Konohagakure
Konoha, the biggest and strongest village in the land of fire, as the Hokage monument hover the city.
Every outer corner of the village is structured by the four of the five clan pillars.
The Uchiha, who reside north of Konoha, Uzumaki on the south, Hyuuga east, and Sarutobi west.
Then the Senju clan who's in the center of the village.
Rest of the clans in Konoha share a section or live out in the woods, as it stands Konoha is at it's glory in power ever since the last great ninja war despite losing the fourth hokage 10 years ago.
You see children, and civilians walking performing duties or even relaxing, taking a walk, enjoying the village weather.
Now in the hokage office, you see a shinobi in standard Senju armor, gold plated, black slacks and standard shinobi sandals, bowing before his kage.
"No need to bow, we're family afterall Nawaki." He stated.
Chuckled, Nawaki stands up, brushing his bushy brown hair.
"Sorry about that, can't help it sometimes. It's that darn hat, I just think of Sarutobi-sama whenever I see it." Now rubbing his chin.
Godaime Hokage returns a laugh, "I'm happy to see you, but knowing how you are, I doubt you're here just for a chat."
Again rubbing his hair, he reaches in his shirt, walking over to hand it to the fifth.
Opening the letter he looks interested.
"So Tsunade is coming back in two years in time for the academy graduation I see. So the boy training is looking good." He said.
"Yea, you know how thorough sis is, I can't wait to see how my nephew fairs against Fugaku-san youngest, or even your kid, Tenzo." Nawaki said.
The Godaime, now hat laying on the desk, he'll be wearing Konoha's standard jonin outfit, with the Kage jacket embroidered "Godaime" on the back.
His hair black from the sides with the middle white, his eyes brown.
Grinning back at the younger Senju.
"Only time will tell."
Sushi Notes:
Well that's the end of chapter 3 and the finale of Pre Genin Days arc. I Feel like if I did another chapter during this arc period I'll just be dragging the story. I figured I can introduce the main cast while also exploring the elemental nations at the same time.
Trust me I have everything settled now, fully knowing where to take this story, and I'll be doing around 5-10k chapters from here on out, can't wait for y'all to see Konoha genins and how I got the clans structured for Konoha protection.
And yes, for any questions regarding Tenzo(yamato) I changed his backstory completely, he's a full blooded Senju and the 2nd shinobi to have Mokuten(natural).
For the teams, they'll be different can't wait for y'all to see that too.
One more thing too, I'm sorry if it felt kind of rushed about Naruto's relationship with Tsunade and Jiraiya, but this will be a long story telling story so there will be specials I'll be doing between arcs, better pacing that way.
