Kiara and Kovu were racing back to the Pride Lands, worried for their families. It was too late, as they had already engaged in battle. The two noticed the logs that piled up by the river; they used the piles as a bridge. Kovu was slowed down due to the river shifting the logs. Once the logs stopped, he caught up with Kiara.
The rain poured down as Simba's pride fought with Zira's. Her lionesses were covered with mud from their muzzles to their paws. Nuka, being a male lion among the pride, his strength helps when taking down a few of Simba's lionesses.
In the distance, he hears voices saying, "Yee Haw," which he saw as a warthog and meerkat were approaching him. Opening his mouth, he lets out a roar.
Not only did he startle the two, but he also made them run off. Nuka, feeling empowered, decided to chase after them.

Nala was catching her breath when, up on a cliff, Vitanishe looked down at her and asked, "Where's your pretty daughter, Nala?" She was asking in a mocking way.
"Vitani," Nala snarled as the lioness above leaped onto her, but Nala was able to flip her over and pin her down.

elsewhere Nuka chased the warthog and meerkat to a wall, unable to escape. He pounced as he got closer to them.
Timon, in a panic state, oiled Pumba was turned around, and his tail was up; this gave him an idea. Mounting onto the warthog, he grabbed hold of the tail and pointed it to Nuka."Nobody move," he warned, waving the tail like a weapon. "This thing is loaded," he warned. "I'll let you have it."
Instead of screaming in terror, Nuka only laughed. "Yeah, right," he taunted. And he pointed the tail away with his paw. "What's a little warthog tail going to do? Tickle me," he laughed, falling onto his back. Timon pointed Pumbaa's tail up.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." And he pushed down on the tail, giving Pumbaa the signal.
..
Nuka covered his mouth and nose. "Eww!" he shrieked, turning away. "MOTHER!" he cried out, running away.
Timon laughed, "Talk about the winds of war."
...
Zira was laughing as Simba was being taken down by her lionesses. "Simba," she snarled as she leaped down from the rock she was standing on. "You're mine."
Simba, emerging from the lionesse, was blindly slashing away, not seeing who was approaching, until Zira snuck up and slapped him to the ground.
The fight came to a halt, with all eyes directed towards Simba and Zira. Simba stood firm, staring at his opponent, who was pacing back and forth. That is when another clap of lightning gave Zira the signal to lift her paw up, ready to strike the same as Simba. However, the sound of unknown roars interrupted them. In leaped Kiara and Kovu, they got in the middle of the battle, Kiara facing her father while Kovu faced his mother Zira.
