"Love doesn't make sense. I mean, you can't logic your way into or out of it."
"I'm not the kid type." Felix announced. Seated across from his twin sister Anna.
"I'm well aware. Uncle Felix stopping by for birthdays and holidays is the most you do. But you knew Brooke had kids before you got involved with her. If you don't think you can handle what comes with that. You need to be honest with her about that." Anna advised.

The Rivercourt
You gave me a choice. Remember that night? The concern on you're face. The emotion in you're voice. Still haunts me.
"This family. Our marriage or a life without it."
"I'm trying Lucas. With every ounce of love and strength i have. But i can't keep us together alone. Please tell me what do you want?" You asked me.
In our dimly lit entryway. A few years ago now.
"I want a divorce." I replied.
You're face broke. You couldn't even look me in the eyes after that.

Lucas stopped typing. Taking a breath.
"Am i distracting you?" Brooke asked. Taking a seat beside him on the bench.
"Not at all." Lucas replied. Saving what he wrote before closing his laptop.
"I wasn't expecting to hear from you since our last encounter was so charged." Brooke said.
"I wanted to know the first meeting with the kids went?" Lucas asked.
"Far from ideal. But i don't want to get into it."
"I've talked enough with Peyton about it." Brooke replied.
"Do you think if everything went the way we thought it would."
"Our relationship would of made it?" Lucas questioned.
Brooke thought over the question. And looked over at him.
"Yeah i think so. We really did love each other. Despite outside forces trying to pull us apart."
"None of that matters now. Its all ancient history." Brooke replied.
"Do you ever miss it? What we had?" Lucas asked.
Brooke's gaze locked on him. "When i said i would always love you i meant that." She admitted.
"I really should get going. Rachel is running the store for me."
"And she tends to talk to customers more then ring them up." Brooke added in.
"Let's get lunch first. What do you think?" Lucas added.
"Why not." Brooke replied.
After a drive to a nearby pizza place. The two made their way to the rivers edge. Sitting near the water.
They talked with a sense of ease that they hadn't allowed themselves
to have in a long time.
"I'll talk to the boys." Lucas said. When they were getting ready to leave.
