Winds Of Fate

Chapter 15

If You Can't Do The Right Thing, Then I Can't Respect You."

days later

"You showing up here at my house on you're lunch break means you have news. I would rather you just get it over with instead of dragging it out." Brooke said.

When she was face to face with Lucas. After letting him inside.

"You haven't been back at the store in awhile. That isn't like you." Lucas said.

"Well Lorena still isn't feeling well and me working at the store would be pointless i would be too worried and not get work done."

"Now Lucas are there any updates to this situation or not?" Brooke questioned.

"I agreed to let the boys move in with me." Lucas replied.

The expression on her face hardned.

"You can't be serious. Okay a conversation needs to be had."

"Homework checks. Breakfast. Dinner. Practices. Games."

"Outings with friends. You are ready to take all that on."

"Along with having to do drafts and work within deadlines with all that is required of you?" Brooke questioned.

Lucas's mind was spinning just at the thought.

"I don't want them to feel rejected by me. And i never want to hurt you. Despite the damage i did in our marriage."

"Marrying you. Our kids. I couldn't imagine doing that with anyone else." Lucas proclaimed.

"Okay then we'll keep the arrangement as its been. It's what is right and what works." Brooke replied.

"You need to tell them the truth. Not in detail but you wanted the divorce. You left. You retreated inwards and you pushed me away."

"I tried for months with you. As a couple to fix what was broken."

"To find our way back to each other. I wanted that so badly."

"I missed you so much. But you didn't miss me."

"You acted like i was a burden and obligation."

"I would of been there by you're side forever. I was so in love and loyal to you." Brooke said. The emotion in her voice thick.

"I know." Lucas said. Having to look away.

Brooke was the greatest thing that had happened to his existence.

And knowing he destroyed it all was too much to deal with.

So he didn't think about otherwise he wouldn't get out of bed.

"I can't tell them Brooke. I just can't. You don't understand." Lucas said.

The two heard a loud crashing. As Brooke made her way upstairs.

She raced into Lorena's room. Her body pale and shaking violently.
