Elijah made his way to the door and was greeted by Jeremy Gilbert. Before the teen could force himself inside, Elijah pushed him back gently but firmly. He then stepped outside and shut the door behind him.
"Let me in!" Jeremy demanded.
"No," Elijah said simply.
"I wanna see my sister!" he screamed angrily as he tried to maneuver around the original to get inside.
Elijah easily held him back with one hand against his chest. "No, Jeremy."
Jeremy immediately tried rushing Elijah, which didn't do much, as the vampire was unmovable, but he was keeping his sister prisoner in his house. He had to do something.
Elijah grabbed the boy and turned him around so that his back was to him. He then grabbed his arm and pinned it to his back. He wrapped his other arm around his waist and held him firmly. "Come now, Jeremy. I know you're angry, but you know better than this. You will not get by me."
"Let go!" Jeremy yelled as he tried and failed.
"Not until you've calmed down," Elijah said. He could hear Elena inside struggling with Niklaus. No doubt the hunger had overwhelmed her. He needed to handle this quickly. Elena wouldn't get passed his brother, but she was suffering, and he wouldn't have that.
"Just let me see her. I just want to know that she's okay," Jeremy said as he continued to uselessly struggle.
"She's not okay, Jeremy. She's hungry, and you being here is making it worse. I can't allow you in that house," Elijah said before letting go of his arm and turning him around to face him. He held him tightly by both arms. "I'm going to put it plainly for you. If I were to let you in there right now, your sister would kill you because the only thing she is capable of seeing when she looks at you right now is food."
Jeremy shook his head. "I've been around her since she's turned. She hasn't hurt me."
"Then you got lucky, and so did she, but she'd been without blood for weeks until yesterday, and the result is that she's starving. She will kill you, and when it's done, she will hate herself," Elijah said. He might sound harsh, but it was a necessary harshness. Jeremy needed to understand how it was.
"You're lying. I've been around vampires before. It's not like that. They can control themselves," Jeremy said.
"You need to forget all you know about vampires because they don't apply to Elena. She's not a traditional vampire. Do you think I brought her here simply because I could? No. I brought her here because she's one of us. She's an original. My blood is mixed inside of her with her doppelganger blood, which is the same combination that was used to turn us. I'm guessing the Salvatore's didn't tell you that before they sent you over here.
Jeremy shook his head, almost in a trance. He was shocked. He didn't know she was an original. He didn't even know that was possible.
Elijah let go of his arms, now satisfied that the teen was calm enough to listen. "Vampirism for an original is deferent than for regular vampires. We can't feed the same way, and our control is atrocious in the beginning. Elena was left to starve for weeks because she couldn't keep blood bags down."
"She said that got better," Jeremy said.
"She lied to you. Before yesterday, she hadn't fed in two weeks. That is why she is here, so that I can help her feed properly and help gain control of what she is now capable of. I'm sorry, but until that happens, you can't see her," Elijah said.
"Not at all?" Jeremy asked in a crestfallen tone.
"No. You can talk to her on the phone. She'd be more than happy to hear from you, but you cannot see her," he said. The last thing he wanted to do was come between Elena and her brother. He was more than welcome to call her. Elijah just couldn't let them have any physical contact.
"For how long?" Jeremy asked.
"I don't know. Until Elena can control herself. I don't know how long that will take, but it will be a while. I'm sorry, but you need to go now. Your presence is hurting her," Elijah said.
Jeremy looked ready to beg, and a part of him was, but the rest of him didn't want to cause Elena any more pain, so he looked towards the house one last time before walking back towards his car.
Elijah watched Jeremy get back in the car and leave before walking back inside. He passed Rebekah, who looked genuinely concerned, and walked back in the living room, where he found Niklaus holding a struggling Elena in his grasp. Her eyes were black and the veins were popping out of her skin from hunger.
"Let me go!" Elena screamed.
"Not going to happen, love," Klaus said as he continued to hold her firmly against his body as she struggled.
Elijah rolled up his sleeve and bit his arm as he approached them. "It's alright, Niklaus. I have it now. Thank you."
Klaus nodded and passed the young original to his brother.
Elena practically ran to Elijah and grabbed his arm.
"It's okay. Go ahead," Elijah said as he held her in his arms and let her feed. He slowly brought her over to the couch and sat down with her. He winced a little. She was much more eager this time, having lost her self-control after sensing Jeremy's blood.
It took a few minutes, but Elena finally came back to reality when she'd fed enough. She let go of Elijah's arm and then started to cry.
"Shh. It's alright, dear. No one was hurt. It's okay," Elijah assured her as he held her in his arms.
Elena cried into his shoulder for a few minutes before pulling away a little. She still felt horrible. If Klaus hadn't been holding her back, she would've torn her brother's throat out. She had lost herself so badly that she'd forgotten it was Jeremy outside. She just knew she wanted his blood. Then she'd all but attacked Elijah when he came to feed her.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Elijah asked.
"Embarrassed and ashamed," Elena said in a broken voice.
"There is nothing for you to be embarrassed or ashamed about. You haven't done anything wrong," he assured her.
"I would've killed my little brother if it weren't for you and Klaus. Then I basically mauled you for your blood," Elena said shamefully.
Elijah rubbed her back in comfort. "Elena, you were hungry. You can't control that. When you're hungry, you have to eat. That's the way it works for everyone. It's just that our food source happens to be blood. That isn't our fault. We didn't have a choice in it."
Elena nodded, but it didn't really change how she felt. "Thank you for not letting me hurt Jeremy.
"Of course, dear. Listen, I don't want to bring this up now, but something has to be done about the Salvatore's. This cannot keep happening," Elijah said. Jeremy was the second one to show up on their behalf today. At least with Caroline, there was no risk, but Jeremy was human. If they hadn't had any warning, he might have ended up getting killed.
"Don't hurt them please. Let me talk to Stefan. I'll make them stop. I get it now. I have to stay here," Elena said. She didn't like it, but she understood. She would've killed Jeremy if Klaus wasn't holding her back. If she had fought Damon or Stefan the way she did Klaus, she would've won and she would've killed her brother. Whether she liked it or not, Elijah and Klaus were the only ones strong enough to handle her.
"Okay. I'll give you a chance to handle it yourself. If it doesn't work, I will have to take action though. Do you understand?" he asked gently.
Elena nodded. "I'm sorry for acting like an animal when you came to give me your blood."
"Hey, none of that. I told you, you didn't do anything wrong. It is nothing I have not seen or been through myself. You have nothing to be embarrassed about," Elijah said.
Elena nodded.
"How about we take a walk around the grounds. I think you could use some fresh air," Elijah said.
"Are you sure it's safe?" Elena asked hesitantly.
"Yes. I would not suggest if I wasn't. I will be with you the entire time," he promised.
"Okay," Elena said before standing up.
Elijah got up before putting a hand on her shoulder and leading her out of the room.

Doctor Meredith Fell was heading for her office at the end of the day. She'd seen her last patient of the day and was finally about to head home. However, she knew that plan was going to be delayed when she entered her office and saw a dark figure standing by the window looking into the night sky. She recognized him, even from the back. It was Elijah Mikaelson.
"Doctor Fell, I believe you have something that belongs to me," Elijah said without even turning around. Now that Elena was finally beginning to settle in a little bit, it was time to take care of the doctor who seemed to think it was a good idea to give people his blood.
Meredith immediately shut the door. "Look, I just…"
Elijah turned around and raised a hand to stop her from speaking. He wasn't particularly interested in her explanation. "I don't know how you got it and I do not particularly care. You will give it to me immediately."
Wordlessly, Meredith went to the mini fridge by her desk and took out three vials before bringing them over to Elijah. "This is what I have left. I don't know which one is yours. I never labeled them."
"It's of no consequence," Elijah said before taking all three vials from her and throwing them all to the ground hard. They all shattered and the blood stained the floor.
Meredith looked at the spilled blood and then back at Elijah in horror. "What did you do? Do you how many patients I could've helped with that."
"I certainly know how many could damn with it. You have been playing a dangerous game, Doctor Fell," Elijahs said. It wasn't just about Elena, although that was the driving force of his anger right now. Doctor Fell was playing with he lives of everyone she gave that blood to. He would not allow it to continue.
Meredith shook her head. "I am helping my patients!"
"You think you helped Elena? She didn't want this life. For as long as I have known her, that has been a fact. Your 'help' forced her to choose between a life she didn't want and death. And now it is no longer a choice she can make," Elijah said angrily.
"I didn't know what would happen," Meredith said.
"No, and that it is the problem. You give unsuspecting humans vampire blood, and you don't take into consideration what could happen to them while it's in their system. All it would take is a slip on the bathroom floor, and they are forced into a life they didn't ask for. Most of them won't even have the choice of transitioning because they won't know what's happening. They'll simply sink their teeth into the first human they see," Elijah said.
Meredith bit her lip and looked away. She never considered it like that. She could only see the benefits. She didn't consider people like Elena who were unlucky enough to get hurt right afterwards and end up dead.
"Let me make something clear to you, Doctor. You're done playing God. If I find out you've given anyone else blood from a vampire, the next person to get it will be you, right before I break your neck. We'll see how you like having that choice," Elijah said coldly before moving past her and walking out of the room.
