(TW: Violence and blood)
"Good morning, Bitches!" The quiet of Nora's dreams were suddenly interrupted by Adam's voice coming from the main door. Her eyes shot open and she sat up just as fast, her attention going to Ash who woke up just as suddenly, still sitting up in her bunk. When Nora looked over to Adam she noticed his mask was on and seemed perfect again. Maybe he wouldn't be too upset with her this morning, but then she saw Lute walk in behind him, her hands clasped behind her back. As usual she didn't have her mask on, showing that hate in her eyes.
Nora glanced over to Ash who gave her a slight nod as if to say 'Don't worry', but her expression showed that a visit from Adam wasn't normal. Sure, his presence was normal when they were training but not like this. Adam began to make small talk as he headed in Nora's direction, stopping to give a comment to one of the women or merely watching them with a satisfied grin. That grin faded as he stepped past the first empty bunk and his footsteps got heavier. Lute's lips curled into a devilish smile.
Adam stood at the end of Ash and Nora's bunks and looked between the two. "Good job keeping her here, erm.." Ash sighed, "It's Ash." "Ah! That's right, Ash. Totally something I'll remember." He turned his full attention to Nora. "You though, I'll remember you for awhile. Let's go, we have some questions." He said as his lips started to curl into a smile again. Ash's eyes went a bit wide, "Do you mind if I come with? I'm, uh, still kind of new to all of this and would love to learn more." It was quick thinking and Adam knew there was more to what she was saying but shrugged. "Sure."
He turned and headed back towards the door, glancing over his shoulder. "If she gets away from you I'm making you chase her down." He shrugged his shoulders, making it clear he wasn't going to take the blame if someone else saw her outside of the barracks. Ash nodded and stood up as she reached a hand out gently for Nora's arm, "I'll keep you safe." It only she realized how difficult that was going to be. From the looks of it Adam and Lute were both holding a grudge.
When they were out of the barracks they entered a long hallway that held many doors. It looked endless to Nora but the others knew their way around the place. With Adam in the lead they walked down a few hallways, turning left and right until they made it to a door at the end of the hall. Adam stopped just before it and tilted his head from side to side, cracking his neck. "Welp, here we go." Lute opened the door as if on command and ushered Ash and Nora inside.
The room was simple, there was a chair set behind a desk that held another larger chair which Nora assumed was Adam's. There were no windows just like her cell and the only exit was the door they had entered in from. Nora only noticed the chain around her neck again as Ash gently pulled it to guide her inside. Once they were all in the room the door was shut behind them and Lute stood directly in front of it for now.
Adam walked over to the larger chair that was on wheels and sat down, scooting back slightly with the force of him sitting. He almost seemed childlike as he spun the chair around once before facing them again, "Come, Nora, sit down. We just wanna talk." He spread out his arms to show he didn't have any weapons but that didn't mean anything to her. A person didn't need a weapon to kill or maim. But Nora listened and walked to the chair in front of the desk and sat down, Ash releasing the chain so she had room to move on her own. Their backs were now to Lute as they faced Adam, Ash staying just behind Nora so she could feel her presence.
Adam leaned forward and put his elbows on the table and rested his chin on his hands. "So, we know you're one of Lucifers children and you've been working with the Princess Charlie. I'm sure she knows a little too much by now considering my last threat, but who could blame me?" He leaned back and spread his arms slightly. "You come up here and start demanding things and Think I'll take it laying down? I mean shit, directly in front of my Manager? She gets to jerk it enough with the power she holds over me." He grumbled and shook his head. "Anyway, we counted our numbers from last time and realized we were down one. Great timing for you though, honestly, I mean how else would we get the answer to Where is our Angel?" He finished it off with a growl.
Nora looked at him confused. "Your Angel? Like, an exorcist?" Adam gave her a dull look before she continued. "I don't know anything about a missing Angel, we wouldn't keep an Angel. We already don't want the extermination why would we cause more problems?" She honestly knew nothing of the Angel Carmila had taken out to save her own daughters, but not having an answer was going to put her through more hell.
Adam gave a long sigh and leaned back in his chair, clicking his long fingers against the armrest. "See Nora, that isn't the answer I wanted." He stood up, "First you come up here right after I had to deal with you sister. I got bitched at by Sera because I dropped a little too much about the extermination, and now she's going to find out one of us are actually missing, or dead." He made his way around the table and sat on the corner just beside Nora. "You came into my home, trying to make a deal with me? Listen babe, I'm not your dad, I don't make deals."
He picked at something under his nail acting nonchalant about the whole thing when he was entirely too pissed off to do much of anything else. He let out a chuckle, "And here's the funny part, you tried to fight us. You broke my right hand bitch's rib and you broke my fucking mask." He stood up now as he towered over her, wings spanning out to make him look even bigger. Nora swallowed back a lump in her throat. "Now where do you get off coming up here and treating it like it's the shit hole you come from?!" He finally broke character. He wanted so bad to keep her for extermination day but he'd never been touched by a lesser being in such a way.
Nora inched back in her seat but narrowed her eyes at the same time. "Where do you get off coming to my home and murdering those people? You're supposed to be the Holy ones, the ones who do no wrong." She hissed and bared her sharp teeth. Adam's eyes narrowed along with hers but he gave her a cruel smirk. "This is why. If we didn't put you in your place we'd have Sinners and Hell born like you out of control. We need to keep your kind in your place." His face was just inches from hers.
Nora let out a growl. She'd heard similar words to that before, been treated like she was nothing more than dirt on the ground. Her mind flashed back to everyone at the Hotel, everyone who had ever shown her kindness. Charlie was her main concern but then Vaggie entered her mind. She'd come all this way, risked her life to try and help her. She couldn't let this go on, someone had to get Adam to stop.
All that anger suddenly boiled and her eyes flared a deep red, a pair of red horns sprouted from her head just as fast and before Adam, or anyone in the room could react, she slammed her head forward into his. "Fuck!" He shouted and grabbed his masked face, the mask itself starting to glitch out again. "I just got this thing fucking fixed!" He shouted. Nora was already up and out of her chair, and since she had free use of her arms she made sure to use them. With her right fist clenched she sent it into Adam's side and brought her left around to hit him in the side of the head while he was still bent over.
"Nora!" Ash gasped, frozen where she was. Nora snarled, "I hope your exorcist is fucking dead, and I hope you die just the same!" She snapped at him, the black hue of flames sparking around her body just as she lifted her foot up to kick it into Adam's stomach. He was caught so off guard he actually stumbled back. Just as she moved towards him again she stopped as a blur of a person whipped in front of her and struck out. She felt a sharp burning pain in her stomach.
It was Lute, she'd been waiting for a command but decided to act on her own to keep her from trying to assault him further and went with deadly force. Stretched out from Lute's hands was her sword made of Angelic steel, and it was now directly through Nora's stomach protruding from her back. Lute growled and pushed the blade deeper until her face was near Nora's, "We gave you too many chances to tame your temper, you refused to take them." She spat. Adam reached forward as fast as he could and grabbed Lute's shoulder, "Dude, what the fuck!?" He sounded panicked. Lute pulled the blade from Nora's stomach, who fell to her knees and put her hand to the wound at the front.
Nora's vision was going blurry and all she could picture was Charlies face. How sad she'd be to know she'd died trying to help her. How sad Lucifer would be, how sad Lilith would be, the very person who raised her. There was so much pain and turmoil in her life but it had all led up to this point, maybe this was how it was supposed to end. She looked down and pulled her shaking hand away just enough to see blood pooling to the ground beneath her. "She can't fucking die, someone get medical!" She heard Adam's voice but it sounded like it was so far away from her.
There was a warmth running down her face as she noticed tears pooling with the steady stream of blood. Why was she crying? She knew her life would end at some point but before she'd had nothing to live for.. Now, now she had everyone. Was her lack of control truly going to be the end of her? Could a Hell born be redeemed? It couldn't be possible, in no life would she want to be apart of a Heaven that caused so much pain to people.
She felt pressure on her stomach and managed to make out Ash's face, "Hold on, Nora! We're getting you help!" Her voice was filled with panic as she too sounded like she was so far away even though she could see her directly in front of her, holding her up. Nora gave her a slight smile. She felt so tired, more tired than she ever had before. She didn't feel scared of anxious anymore, almost peaceful even as the tears continued to stream. I'm sorry Charlie, I tried. I know you'll be able to fix things for everyone in Hell, I truly believed in your cause. She wanted to speak the words but her voice wouldn't work but her soul said them for her.
The room around her was filled with panic, Adam scolding Lute when she returned with a few medical staff, Lute arguing back to defend her case. Everything was just a blur at this point while everything got brighter and quiet at the same time. Then it all faded to black just as fast.
