Both Felix and I were trapped, neither of us was going to give in to the other. He wasn't going to let me go, nor would I release him by electrocuting him with my glove.

But things were going wrong, the guard was already on his way and would end up with me. I would lose my backpack, and all my efforts up to this point would have been in vain. When I finally entrusted myself to God, and finally left everything in his hands, the impossible happened.

Massive wolves that I had never seen in my life quickly emerged and decapitated the Volturi guard. It was a whole pack, and they began to attack both the guards and the bounty hunters.

Both Stefan and Vladimir fled, and the bounty hunter who had my saber was taken down by several wolves after injuring one of them. One of the wolves grabbed Felix by his leg and shook him, Felix managed to free himself from the wolf and took a fighting stance with Demetri at his side.

I called the saber and split a bounty hunter who had touched my backpack in half, I threw several tasers at both bounty hunters and other guards, and several of them fell into the jaws of the gigantic wolves.

I noticed that a woman was riding one of the wolves, reddish in color and ferocious in appearance, I immediately recognized the girl as a hybrid, she was the daughter of the vampires Edward and Bella Cullen.

Both she and the reddish wolf seemed to be fighting hand to hand. The girl fights against a bounty hunter, and another Volturi guard manages to hang onto the head of the reddish wolf.

I threw the saber, igniting it and moving it a bit, managing to hit both vampires. Both the girl and the wolf deliver the final blow. With fewer vampires left, Felix and Demetri call the remaining guards and finally manage to scare them away, not without giving me a penetrating look first.

The rest of the bounty hunters plunged into the sea, some were intercepted by the wolves and the rest managed to escape, leaving me finally as the last vampire in the place.

The wolves began to surround me, growling and baring their teeth:

"What else could go wrong?" I thought, while holding both the dagger and the saber, both glowing with an intense orange light.

As I tried to remain calm and assume defensive positions, I saw a black wolf staring at my chest, at the collar with my crucifix.

The girl ran towards me, accompanied by the reddish wolf, which in the blink of an eye seemed to transform into a man, a young and quite athletic guy.

"Guys, calm down! He's an ally, he's my grandfather's guest," the girl said with a very warm smile.

The one who had previously been the reddish wolf, now a guy with tanned skin and short hair, said to me:

"Haha, come on, Jedi master, relax a bit. Not every day you have a pack of wolves saving your life."

Then, looking at the girl, he said with a smile, "Hey, chill out, nobody here is going to bite you... at least not right now."

The girl looked at me and with her hands up she said,

"Okay, Gonzalo, right? We're allies. Alice told us you needed help."

I recognized the girl, so I sheathed my weapons, and finally relaxed; anyway, I didn't have too many options.

I reached out my hand to her first:

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Gonzalo."

"Likewise," the girl said.

I extended my hand to the guy, saying:

"Pleasure."

He seemed to hesitate a bit, but finally rolled his eyes and shook my hand:

"Jacob. And yeah, I'm shaking your hand because Nessie trusts you, and because it seems you have good taste in weapons." He looked at my saber with a mix of curiosity and approval before continuing. "But let's be clear, if you step out of line, I won't hesitate to change my mind."

Both of them looked at me, and Renesmee said:

"We'll accompany you to the meadow. It's a beautiful place where my family is waiting for you. Ready to go?"

Her enthusiasm was palpable, and her unique beauty, with that bronze hair and deep brown eyes, clearly distinguished her as the most impressive hybrid I had ever seen.

We walked at a leisurely pace, probably to make me feel more comfortable after everything that had happened. After a while, as I enjoyed the scenery, Jacob tried to break the ice:

"So, how many vampires do you have, well, you know?" he suddenly asked. I was confused.

"How many what?" I replied.

"Never mind, forget it. Nessie's family has stories, and your name has come up a couple of times."

"Oh, I see." I smiled and then replied, "I lost count a while ago."

Jacob chuckled. "Modest guy, huh?" He glanced at my backpack with a smirk. "Wait, what's that smell?"

"Oh, that's fossilized venom I'm carrying for Carlisle."

Jacob frowned. "Vampire venom turned into stone? How long are we talking about? Because you know, vampire scent is intense, but what you have on you is... another level."

"Yeah, it's about six thousand years old, give or take," I answered, trying not to laugh at his reaction.

Jacob stepped back a bit, grimacing. "Impressive, but I'd rather breathe fresh air, if you don't mind."

We kept walking step by step, and as the sun began to rise, I finally saw the bright meadow. I took a deep breath, and covering myself with the hood, I ventured into the place.

The meadow was spacious, full of beautiful flowers, nothing compared to the horrible, gloomy places I had recently experienced, and there I saw them, in the middle of the place, while petals flew in a beautiful cloudy day.

"Good morning, Gonzalo," Dr. Cullen smiled.

"Good morning, sir...I mean Carlisle," I quickly corrected myself.

I finally took off the hood, as I saw that the day was cloudy, and it seemed a bit rude to keep it on.

The group smiled, well, some of them, except for two boys, and Carlisle introduced me to the members of his coven present.

First, he turned to the shortest girl, whom I had already seen in the video call:

"You already know Alice, right?"

"Hi! I hope you had a good trip. We were all very eager to meet you, aren't we, Jasper?" said Alice, giving Jasper a playful nudge.

Jasper looked at me with a hint of respect and a shadow of caution in his gaze. "A pleasure. Alice has talked a lot about you since we heard from Mexico, and she saw you in her visions. Regarding Maria, don't worry, the past is the past. And as for your height, legends don't always get the details right, don't you think?"

The others let out an awkward chuckle. Normally, in this kind of situation, I would be quite nervous, but this time I felt strangely calm, as if an aura were influencing my emotions. It had to be him.

Carlisle turned to his right and introduced: "These are Edward and Bella."

The couple stood out: he, a tall guy with a peculiar hairstyle that reminded me of the American version of Nacho. I couldn't help but think that if my cousin cared as much about his looks as Tomás, he would improve a lot, but in the end, Nacho is and will always be a rebel without a cause.

Both of them had those same golden eyes as me, their hair seemed to share a certain brown tone, although his was slightly lighter.

Edward observed me intently, as if trying to decipher something in me, his furrowed brow marking his concern. "Seems to be having trouble with my mind... interesting," I thought. Bella, by his side, looked at him with a certain unease.

I focused, channeling all my thoughts into one thing: Aro's secret and the murder of his sister. Finally, it seemed that Edward caught that message, his expression shifting from surprise to a slightly victorious smile.

He approached and shook my hand, his voice soft and calm: "A pleasure, Gonzalo. I appreciate you sharing that message with us. You have a very... noisy mind, so to speak." Then, casting a glance at Jasper, reflecting sadness, he added:

"We're sorry you had to face so many difficulties to get here, but I assure you that your efforts will not be in vain."

Bella, a bit more reserved at first, finally approached and also shook my hand. As she did, I felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if our parallel stories were finally intersecting. It seemed like she felt something similar.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Carlisle has told us a lot about you and your efforts. We wish you all the best," she said, ending with a shy smile.

"Well, friends, let's not forget why I came," I interrupted with a smile, feeling both excited and nervous at the same time. I took the fossilized venom out of my backpack, feeling as if a great weight had been lifted off me. Carlisle received it with a sigh and said:

"This is going to change our world, you have no idea how many of us will benefit from this. Thank you so much, Gonzalo." We both smiled, with a great sense of satisfaction.

Bella had something in her hand, a photo, and after looking at it carefully, she said to me:

"Here, you dropped this."

Bella was holding the photo of me with Marie and my little Lucero, and as I looked at them and put the photo back in my pocket, I said:

"Thank you."

Carlisle interrupted, after an uncomfortable silence that Jasper seemed to feel as he saw me thinking about Marie and Lucero.

"Unfortunately, not everyone could come, with the tumult of the Romanian coven and the Volturi guards. Esme, Emmett, and Rosalie stayed home, but they send their regards," Carlisle said.

I put on my backpack once again, already thinking about where to go and what to do now.

"Well, dear friends, I think I must be going; I still have a couple of things pending," I said with a smile.

Alice looked at Edward and Bella with a smile; she seemed to know something that the others didn't. Edward rolled his eyes and commented with a tone of amused resignation:

"Yeah, yeah, the private jet."

I opened my eyes incredulously. "Private jet?"

Bella couldn't help but giggle, as if that reaction was very familiar to her, and added, "Yes, that was my reaction too when I met them."

"Well, guys, there's a lot of work to do; many vampires are waiting for us. Gonzalo, Edward, and Bella will escort you to the airport. Alice?" Carlisle asked.

Alice, with a smile and looking into the void as if she could see something we couldn't, affirmed: "Gonzalo will be fine; his family is waiting for him."

Then Jasper, with an analytical look, asked again, first looking at Alice and then at me:

"Will you come to visit us?"

Alice finally responded with a note of mystery in her voice:

"Only the future will tell."

Carlisle gave me a firm handshake and, looking into my eyes, hugged me with a very paternal gesture. Alice and Jasper waved to us affectionately before running back to their home.

"Come on, guys," urged Edward with a characteristic measured tone.

And so I embarked on a new journey, and this time, I had great hope that it would be much more enjoyable than the ones I had had before.
