Arrival at Laverre City
The group is currently travelling north of Lumiose City to get to Route 14 on their way to Laverre City where they intend to challenge the Laverre City Gym to earn their sixth badges. Nazz was currently deep in thought. A few moments ago, she learned that Charlotte was the way she is because a Teddiursa she befriended when she was young was taken from her by another trainer. Kevin notices this.
"What's on your mind, Nazz?" asked Kevin.
"I was just thinking about Charlotte." replied Nazz.
"You mean the whole Teddiursa thing." said Kevin.
"Yeah. It stinks to lose a friend." replied Nazz.
"I wonder if I would become like Charlotte if Plank was taken from me." said Jonny.
"I hope not." said Nazz.
"Anyway, I'm sure Charlotte will get over it someday." said Kevin.
"I hope so." said Nazz. Soon, the group left Lumiose City and found themselves in a swampy area. "So, this is Route 14? Looks kind of gross."
"Gross or not, nothing is stopping me from getting my next badge." said Kevin.
"Me neither." said Jonny.
"Nothing will stop Rolf from obtaining his next badge." said Rolf. During thier time on Route 14, the group took the time to train their Pokemon. Soon, Jonny's Quilladin learned Seed Bomb, his Krokorok learned Scary Face, and his Clauncher learned Crabhammer, Rolf's Braixen learned Psyshock and his Beedrill learned Assurance, Kevin's Tyrunt learned Ancient Power and Dragon Tail, Nazz's Farfetch'd learned Agility, and her Dedenne learned Rest and Snore. During the training, Jonny's Quilladin and Charmeleon began to glow.
"Hey! Quilladin and Charmeleon are evolving!" said Jonny. Everyone else watched as Quilladin and Charmeleon began to grow and change shape. When the glowing stopped, Quilladin was bigger and had white hair on his belly and on the lower half of its face like a beard, it had a beige dome on top of his head like a helmet; he had a domed, beige armor with four spines coming out of his back and trimmed with green and red bands, his tail and arms were longer and had green armor on top of them and three brown claws on the end of each arm; his legs were also longer with beige armor and three brown claws on each end of them.
Charmeleon was now bigger and resembled an orange dragon with large wings with bluish green undersides. "Far out!" Nazz takes out the pokedex and points it at Jonny's newly evolved Quilladin.
"Chesnaught, the Spiny Armor Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Chespin. When it takes a defensive posture with its fists guarding its face, it could withstand a bomb blast." said the pokedex.
"Awesome." said Nazz. "This says your Chesnaught is part grass and part fighting type now, and when he evolved, he learned Spiky Shield."
"Cool!" said Jonny. Nazz then points the pokedex and his newly evolved Charmeleon.
"Charizard, the Flame Pokemon and the final evolved form of Charmander. Its wings can carry this Pokémon close to an altitude of 4,600 feet. It blows out fire at very high temperatures." said the pokedex.
"This says your Charizard is part fire and part flying type, and he knows Wing Attack now." said Nazz.
"This is the coolest thing to happen to me!" cheered Jonny. Rolf's Braixen and Wartortle also began to glow.
"Rolf's Braixen and Wartortle are evolving!" said Rolf. Braixen and Wartortle began to grow. When they stopped glowing, Braixen was taller, she was covered mostly in dark red and red orange fur that resembled a robe, the tufts of fur on her ears were bigger, her yellow tail stuck out from underneath her 'robe', and her stick had a flame on the end of it. Wartortle was bigger, his ears were triangular, his lower jaw was beige, and he had two cannons sticking out of his shell. Nazz pointed the pokedex at the newly evolved Delphox.
"Delphox, the Fox Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Fennekin. Using psychic power, it generates a fiery vortex of 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit, incinerating foes swept into this whirl of flame." said the pokedex.
"According to the pokedex, Delphox is part fire and part psychic now, and she now knows Mystical Fire." said Nazz. She then points the pokedex and Rolf's newly evolved Wartortle.
"Blastoise, the Shellfish Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Squirtle. The pressurized water jets on this brutal Pokémon's shell are used for high-speed tackles." said the pokedex.
"Rolf is proud of his Pokemon." said Rolf, wiping a tear from his eye. Kevin's Frogadier also began glowing.
"Whoa, Frogadier's evolving!" said Kevin. Everyone watched as Frogadier began to grow taller. When he stopped glowing, he was taller, he was dark blue with a yellow chest, he had a fin like extension on his head, and he had his tongue wrapped around his neck like a scarf. Nazz points the pokedex at the newly evolved Frogadier.
"Greninja, the Ninja Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Froakie. It appears and vanishes with a ninja's grace. It toys with its enemies using swift movements, while slicing them with throwing stars of sharpest water." said the pokedex.
"Awesome!" said Kevin.
"And this says your Greninja is now part water and part dark, and he learned Water Shuriken." said Nazz.
"This is so radical!" said Kevin. Jonny looks at his Mega Ring that had the Charizardite on it.
"Hey, Rolf; now we can Mega Evolve Charizard and Blastoise." said Jonny. Rolf looks at his Mega Ring that had the Blastoisinite on it and smiles.
"Congratulations you guys." said Nazz. Her Litleo began to glow. "Now Litleo's evolving." Litleo began to grow. When the glowing stopped, Litleo now resembled a dark and light brown lioness with a long mane of orange and gold fur sticking out from her forehead. Nazz points the pokedex at the newly evolved Litleo.
"Pyroar, the Royal Pokemon, and the evolved form of Litleo. With fiery breath of more than 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, they viciously threaten any challenger. The females protect the pride's cubs." said the pokedex.
"All these evolutions are so cool." said Nazz.
"I'll say." said Jonny.
During their time on Route 14, Jonny's Linoone found a Great Ball with his Pickup ability, as well as Rolf's Diggersby. Nazz's Dedenne found a Hyper Potion with her Pickup ability also.
"Man, Pickup's a cool ability." said Nazz.
Kevin was walking around Route 14 with his Dowsing Machine; with it, he found a Super Potion. He also found a Big Mushroom and a Hyper Potion. As he continued to explore the area, he found what appeared to be a dark gray piece of paper that had a red circle inside a white circle inscribed in it.
"What's this?" asked Kevin, picking up the piece of paper. "Maybe when I get to Laverre City, I can see if anyone in the PokeMart knows what this is." He puts it in his backpack and then went to find the others. A few minutes later, he finds the rest of the group where he sees Rolf and Gogoat standing on shallow water, facing a flat, brown, fishlike Pokemon. He walks to Nazz and Jonny. "Hey, what's this Pokemon?"
"Oh, hey Kevin." said Nazz. She takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Stunfisk, the Trap Pokemon. It conceals itself in the mud of the seashore. Then it waits. When prey touch it, it delivers a jolt of electricity." said the pokedex.
"Gogoat, use Seed Bomb!" said Rolf. Gogoat launches a bunch of large seeds from his mane which hit Stunfisk and explode on contact, doing super effective damage. The Stunfisk responds by launching a large ball of mud at Gogoat, hitting him, but not doing a lot of damage. "Gogoat, use Vine Whip!" Two large vines extend from Gogoat's mane and hit Stunfisk, doing more super effective damage. Rolf then quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Stunfisk, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball then wiggles around a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Rolf!" says Kevin. Rolf walks over to the pokeball and picks it up.
"Rolf has caught a Stunfisk!" says Rolf. His Stunfisk's pokeball then teleports to storage. Nazz looks up Rolf's new Stunfisk's information on the pokedex.
"This says your Stunfisk is a dude, he knows Bide, Thunder Shock, Mud Shot, Camouflage, Mud Bomb, Discharge, and Endure; he also has the Limber ability which makes it so he can't be paralyzed." said Nazz.
"Rolf is pleased." said Rolf. After returning Gogoat to his pokeball, the group continued travelling up Route 14 until they arrived at Laverre City.
"Here we are; Laverre City." said Kevin.
"I can't wait to challenge the gym." said Jonny.
"Can we wait until tomorrow?" asked Nazz. "It's getting late, and I could use some dinner." The group looks up at the sky and saw it was getting dark.
"Sure. We need to have our Pokemon treated so they can be ready for our gym battles tomorrow." said Kevin.
"And Rolf would like some mammal flesh to eat." said Rolf.
"Okay, sounds good to me." said Jonny. The group walked to the Pokemon Center; once inside, the group gave the nurse their Pokemon. After that, Kevin goes to the PokeMart. He sells the Big Mushroom he found on Route 14 for twenty-five hundred pokedollars. He then takes out the strange paper he also found on Route 14.
"Any idea what this is?" Kevin asked the clerk.
"That would be a Spell Tag." replied the clerk. "It boosts the power of the ghost type attacks of the Pokemon holding it."
"Awesome." said Kevin. "As soon as I get Golett back, I'm giving it to it." After that, Kevin rejoins the others, and they walk to the cafeteria for dinner. They were soon eating dinner at a table.
"Think our Pokemon will be ready for our gym battles tomorrow?" asked Nazz.
"We won't find that out until tomorrow." replied Kevin.
"I'm sure they're ready." said Jonny.
"Yes; Rolf believes in his Pokemon." said Rolf.
"That's the spirit, you guys." said Nazz. After dinner, the group left the cafeteria and Jonny, Kevin, and Rolf went to the men's washroom while Nazz went to the women's washroom to shower. After they were done, they brushed their teeth. After they finished, they went to their sleeping quarters, and went right to bed to rest up for their gym battles tomorrow.
