Anistar City Gym Battles (Part One)
"Whoa!" said Nazz as she, Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny looked in awe at the arena inside the Anistar City Gym. They definitely didn't expect to see a vast open area that looked like the middle of outer space with a large, glowing, trasparent arean floating in the middle of it; surrounding said arena was a large array of gears and rings, along with a walkway above it.
"This is intense." said Kevin as he looks around at everything.
"Yes, Rolf is also astounded by this gym." said Rolf.
"Why, thank you, young man." said a female voice. On one end of the arena stood a dark-skinned woman with curled purple hair, wearing a black suit, gray shoes, and a silver cloak that had a star pattern underneath it.
"Might you be the leader of this gym?" asked Rolf.
"Indeed I am; my name is Olympia." replied the woman, now identified as Olympia. "I assume you are all here to challenge me to gym battles."
"You bet." said Jonny.
"Very well; which of you will be challenging me first?" asked Olympia. Jonny gives Plank to Nazz and runs to the arena.
"I'll battle you first." said Jonny.
"Very well." said Olympia. Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz go up a flight of stairs that lead to the upper walkway and looked down on the arena from it. Jonny and Olympia face each other while a woman stands on a side of the arena.
"This is an official gym battle between Olympia the gym leader, and Jonny the challenger." said the woman acting as a referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon; whoever defeats their opponents Pokemon first will be the winner. Let the battle begin." A pokeball floats out of Olympia's belt and hovers in front of her.
"Whoa; how did she do that?" asked Nazz.
"Maybe she has powers or something." said Kevin.
"You mean she's a witch?!" asked Rolf.
"I can assure you, young man, I am no witch." said Olympia. She turned towards Jonny. "Sigilyph, go!" The pokeball flies forward and opens up, releasing a multicolored, winged Pokemon with a single eye. Jonny points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Sigilyph, the Avianoid Pokemon. The guardians of an ancient city, they always fly the same route while keeping watch for invaders." said the pokedex. Jonny pulls out a pokeball.
"Krookodile, go!" said Jonny, throwing Krookodile's pokeball and releasing her. "Krookodile, use Bite!" Krookodile runs towards Sigilyph.
"Sigilyph, Reflect!" said Olympia. A transparent square appeared in front of Sigilyph before Krookodile reaches it and her teeth crashes against it, absorbing most of the damage, but still dealing super effective damage to Sigilyph. "Air Slash!" Sigilyph flaps its wings and releases a blade of energy that hits Krookodile, knocking her to the ground, but she gets up.
"Use Foul Play!" said Jonny. Krookodile runs at Sigilyph and grabs it; she then throws Sigilyph onto the arena floor, dealing super effective damage.
"Miracle Eye!" said Olympia. Sigilyph's eye glows blue.
"What does that move do?" asked Kevin.
"Makes it that psychic type moves can hit dark type Pokemon." replied Olympia.
"Whoa, that's handy." said Nazz.
"Use Crunch!" said Jonny. Krookodile charges at Sigilyph while her teeth glowed white and she bites onto Sigilyph, dealing super effective damage to it and weakening its special defense.
"Psychic!" said Olympia. Sigilyph's eye glowed purple and Krookodile gets lifted up, then slammed onto the arena floor, dealing damage and weakening her special defense strength. She struggles to get up.
"Assurance!" said Jonny. Krookodile runs at Sigilyph and jump kicks it, dealing super effective damage to it; it falls to the floor with a swirly eye.
"Sigilyph is unable to battle; Krookodile wins the match." said the referee.
"Great job, Krookodile." said Jonny.
"Yeah! Go, Jonny!" said Nazz.
"Way to go, man!" said Kevin. Olympia returns Sigilyph to its pokeball.
"You did well, Sigilyph." said Olympia. She puts Sigilyph's pokeball away while another one floats out of her belt. "Slowking, go!" The pokeball flies forward and it releases a bipedal, pink Pokemon wearing a shell on its head and a red and white ruff around its neck. Jonny points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Slowbro, the Royal Pokemon, and the evolved form of Slowpoke. When its head was bitten, toxins entered Slowpoke's head and unlocked an extraordinary power." said the pokedex.
"Slowking, Calm Mind!" said Olympia. Slowking's body begins to glow and its special attack and defense increases.
"Use Crunch!" said Jonny. Krookodile runs at Slowking while her teeth were glowing and she bites onto Slowking, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Water Pulse!" said Olympia. Slowking forms a blue ball of water in its hands and launches it at Krookodile, hittting it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Krookodile is unable to battle; Slowking wins the match." said the referee.
"Excellent work, Slowking." said Olympia. Jonny returns Krookodile to her pokeball.
"You did your best, Krookodile." said Jonny. He puts Krookodile's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Ninjask, go!" He throws Ninjask's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Ninjask, use Swords Dance!" Ninjask begins spinning in the air and his attack strength increases. Ninjask begins surging with energy and his speed increases from his Speed Boost ability.
"Power Gem!" said Olympia. Slowking fires a pink beam of energy from the jewel on the shell on its head and it hits Ninjask, dealing super effective damage to him.
"Ninjask, Leech Life!" said Jonny. Ninjask flies at Slowking and drives the claws of his forearms into it; he begins sucking the energy out of Slowking, dealing massive super effective damage due to Silver Powder powering up Ninjask's bug type moves and Swords Dance powering up his attack strength, and healing most of his wounds. Ninjask gains another increase in his speed from his Speed Boost ability.
"Power Gem!" said Olympia. Slowking fires another pink beam of energy at Ninjask.
"Double Team!" said Jonny. Ninjask glows and creates duplicates of himself; Power Gem hits one of the Ninjasks, but it was only a copy. "Now use Fury Cutter!" Ninjask flies at Slowking and slashes it with of his claws, dealing super effective damage to it. Ninjask's speed increases again.
"Power Gem!" said Olympia. Slowking fires another energy beam at Ninjask, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage to him.
"Fury Cutter one more time!" said Jonny. Ninjask flies at Slowking and slashes it with his forearm claw, passing it as he does. Ninjask hovers in the air while Slowking stands there for several seconds before it collapses.
"Slowking is unable to battle; Ninjask wins the match." said the referee.
"That was great, Ninjask!" cheered Jonny.
"You're doing good, man!" said Kevin.
"Just one more, Jonny!" said Nazz. Olympia returns Slowking to its pokeball.
"You've earned a rest, Slowking." said Olympia. She puts Slowking's pokeball away and looks at Jonny. "You've done well so far, Jonny." Another pokeball floats out of her belt. "But you have to beat my final Pokemon to earn a badge from me. Meowstic, go!" Her pokeball flies forward and it releases a bipedal, catlike Pokemon with long folded ears, white fur, a tuft of blue fur on its head, a collar of blue fur around its neck, and blue furry legs. Jonny points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Meowstic, the Constraint Pokemon, and the evolved form of Espurr. The eyeball patterns on the interior of its ears emit psychic energy. It keeps the patterns tightly covered because that power is too immense." said the pokedex.
"Meowstic, Fake Out!" said Olympia. Meowstic leaps close to Ninjask and claps its paws, creating a shockwave that hits Meowstic, dealing damage, and making Ninjask flinch. "Now use Shadow Ball!" Meowstic forms a ball of black energy in its paws and launches it at Ninjask, hitting it, and weakening his special defense.
"Fury Cutter!" said Jonny. Ninjask flies at Meowstic and slashes it with his claw, dealing super effective damage.
"Psychic!" said Olympia. Meowstic's eyes unfolded, revealing an eye on each one and they glowed purple; Ninjask becomes surrounded by purple energy and he gets slammed into the ground, knocking him out.
"Ninjask is unable to battle; Meowstic wins the match." said the referee.
"Splendid work, Meowstic." said Olympia. Meowstic nods in response.
"Don't give up, Jonny!" said Nazz.
"Keep going!" said Kevin. Jonny returns Ninjask to his pokeball.
"You did great, Ninjask." said Jonny. He puts Ninjask's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Clawitzer, go!" He throws Clawitzer's pokeball and releases him. "Clawitzer, Dark Pulse!" Clawitzer opens his bigger claw and black and purple rings of energy fire out of it and they hit Meowstic, dealing super effective damage to it, and thanks to Clawitzer's Mega Launcher ability, Dark Pulse was more powerful than it normally was, and making it flinch.
"Now use Swords Dance!" said Jonny. Clawitzer crosses his pincers together and glowing blue swords appear around Clawitzer and they cross together; Clawitzer becomes surrounded by a red aura and his attack strength increases.
"Psychic!" said Olympia. Meowstic's ears unfolded and the extra eyes glowed purple; Clawitzer becomes surrounded by purple energy and he gets sent flying back, but lands on its legs.
"Crabhammer!" said Jonny. Clawitzer leaps at Meowstic and he hits it with his bigger pincer; due to Wave Incense increasing Clawitzer's water attacks, and Swords Dance increasing his attack strength; Crabhammer did enough damage to knock Meowstic out.
"Meowstic is unable to battle; Clawitzer wins the match. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Jonny." said the referee.
"We did it, Clawitzer!" cheered Jonny. Clawitzer raises his bigger pincer in victory.
"Jonny is victorious!" said Rolf.
"I knew he could do it." said Nazz.
"Way to go!" said Kevin. Olympia returns Meowstic to its pokeball.
"You did well, Meowstic." said Olympia. She puts Meowstic's pokeball away and walks to Jonny. "Your Pokemon fought well, Jonny; you did an exceptional job training them."
"Thanks, Olympia." said Jonny. Olympia reaches into her pocket and pulls out a badge that looked like a purple crystal ball with smoke coming out of it.
"For your victory here, I reward you with the Psychic Badge." said Olympia. She gives Jonny the Psychic Badge, along with pokedollars.
"Right on! I just won the Psychic Badge!" cheered Jonny. Olympia looks up at where Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz were.
"So, which of you three would like to challenge me next?" asked Olympia.
"Rolf will battle you next." said Rolf.
"Very well; after I return from the Pokemon Center once my Pokemon are healed, we will have our battle." said Olympia. Olympia and Jonny both exit the gym while Rolf walks down to the arena to wait for Olympia to return so they may have their battle.
Ten minutes later, Jonny and Olympia return; with Jonny walking over to his friends, while Olympia returning to where she stood for her battle with Jonny.
"Are you ready for our gym battle, young man?" asked Olympia.
"Rolf is ready." said Rolf. The referee steps out onto the field.
"This is an official gym battle between Olympia the gym leader, and Rolf the challenger." said the referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon; whoever defeats their opponents Pokemon first will be the winner. Let the battle begin." The referee then steps off to the side so the two trainers can begin their battle.
A pokeball floats out of Olympia's belt and hovers in front of her and it flies forward, releasing her Sigilyph. Rolf takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing his Pidgeot.
"Pidgeot, use Quick Attack!" said Rolf. Pidgeot flies forward at incredible speed and slams into Sigilyph.
"Sigilyph, use Air Slash!" said Olympia. Sigilyph releases a blade of wind from its body, and it hits Pidgeot.
"Pidgeot, use Wing Attack!" said Rolf. Pidgeot flies at Sigilyph and strikes it with one of her wings.
"Sigilyph, use Psybeam!" said Olympia. Sigilyph fires off a beam of energy at Pidgeot, but Rolf was ready.
"Pidgeot, use Fly!" said Rolf. Pidgeot soars up above the arena, narrowly avoiding Sigilyph's attack.
"Sigilyph, use Reflect!" said Olympia. Sigilyph creates a wall of light in front of itself. Soon, Pidgeot came plummeting down and slams down hard onto Sigilyph.
"Sigilyph, use Psychic!" said Olympia. Sigilyph gives off a blue aura, making one appear around Pidgeot that sends her flying into the floor hard, knocking her out.
"Pidgeot is unable to battle. Sigilyph is the winner." said the referee.
"Excellent job, Sigilyph." said Olympia.
"That was rough, man." said Kevin.
"Rolf can still win this." said Nazz.
"Keep fighting, Rolf!" said Jonny. Rolf returns Pidgeot to her pokeball.
"Rolf knows that Pidgeot did her best." said Rolf before putting Pidgeot's pokeball back into his pocket and pulling out another one; he then throws it, releasing his Beedrill.
"Poison type Pokemon can't really handle psychic type moves." said Olympia.
"But psychic type Pokemon can't handle bug or dark type moves." said Rolf. "Beedrill, use Assurance!" Beedrill flies at the Sigilyph and jabs it with her stinger, doing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"Sigilyph is unable to battle. Beedrill is the winner." said the referee.
"Way to go, Rolfie boy!" said Kevin.
"Keep it up, dude!" said Nazz.
"Yeah, Rolf!" said Jonny. Olympia returns her Sigilyph to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Sigilyph." said Olympia before she puts the pokeball away and makes another one levitate off her waist, it flies forward, releasing her Slowking.
"Beedrill, use Twineedle!" said Rolf. Beedrill flies at Slowking and jabs her two arm stingers into its torso; it suddenly started to look ill.
"Twineedle poisoned it!" said Jonny.
"Slowking, use Power Gem!" said Olympia. Slowking releasing a sparkling beam of light from its body, hitting Beedrill, doing super effective damage to her. Slowking then loses some stamina due to Beedrill's poison. A light green aura appears around Beedrill.
"Beedrill's Swarm ability kicked in, dude!" said Kevin.
"Now her bug type moves are stronger!" said Jonny.
"Beedrill, use Pin Missile!" said Rolf. Beedrill releases dozens of large, green stingers from her rear one that all hit the Slowking repeatedly, doing super effective damage to it.
"Slowking, use Psychic!" said Olympia. Slowking's eyes glow blue, making a blue aura appear around Beedrill that lifts her up, and slams her hard onto the floor, knocking her out. All of a sudden, Slowking loses the last of its stamina from the poison in it and passes out.
"Both Pokemon are unable to battle. It's a double knockout." said the referee.
"At least Slowking lost, also." said Kevin.
"Both of them are down to one Pokemon each." said Nazz.
"Rolf can do it!" said Jonny. Both trainers return their respective Pokemon to their pokeballs.
"You did well, Slowking." said Olympia.
"Rolf is pleased with Beedrill." said Rolf. Both trainers put their pokeballs away and each pull out their last ones; Olympia throws hers, releasing her Meowstic; and Rolf throws his, releasing his Blastoise. Rolf then touches the stone on his Mega Ring, making his Blastoise Mega Evolve into Mega Blastoise.
"So, you can Mega Evolve your Pokemon?" asked Olympia.
"Yes." said Rolf.
"It won't be enough to save you." said Olympia. "Meowstic, use Psychic!" Meowstic's eyes glow blue, and it starts lifting Mega Blastoise off the floor.
"Mega Blastoise, use Water Pulse!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise manages to lift his arms up and fires off pulsating blasts of water from them that were powered up by his ability, hitting Meowstic, breaking its concentration, breaking its hold on him.
"Meowstic, use Psyshock!" said Olympia. Meowstic releases a blast of energy from itself that hits Mega Blastoise, but he's still standing strong.
"Mega Blastoise is tough." said Nazz.
"With that thick skin and shell, I'm not surprised." said Kevin.
"Mega Blastoise, use Surf!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise sprays the floor in front of him with all three of his cannons, creating a massive tidal wave which he hops on and rides toward Meowstic, slamming into it.
"Meowstic, use Shadow Ball!" said Olympia. Meowstic creates a ball of dark energy which it launches at Mega Blastoise, hitting him, doing damage, and lowering his special defense.
"Mega Blastoise, use Tackle!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise charges at Meowstic and rams into it, sending it flying past Olympia, and into the walkway's wall, unconscious.
"Meowstic is unable to battle. Mega Blastoise is the winner. The winner of the gym battle is the challenger, Rolf." said the referee.
"Rolf won!" cheered Jonny.
"Way to go, dude!" cheered Nazz.
"I knew he could do it!" said Kevin.
"Rolf is the winner!" shouted Rolf. Mega Blastoise returns to his normal state, just as Rolf runs over and hugs him. Olympia returns her Meowstic to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Meowstic." said Olympia. She puts her Meowstic's pokeball back onto her waist, then walks over to Rolf. "You have trained your Pokemon well, young man."
"Rolf thanks you." said Rolf. Olympia reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Psychic badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with this Psychic Badge." said Olympia as she hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Rolf.
"Rolf has won the Psychic Badge!" cheered Rolf as he holds it up in triumph. Olympia looks at Nazz and Kevin.
"So, who am I battling next?" asked Olympia.
"I am." said Nazz as she raises her hand.
"Very well." said Olympia. "When I get back from the Pokemon Center, we shall have our battle."
"I'll be waiting." said Nazz. Rolf then returns his Blastoise to his pokeball and follows after Olympia, while Nazz heads down to the arena to wait for her next gym battle.
