A Phantom's Love and Courage
Chapter 2: Phantom In Japan
The ghost boy arrived home and didn't waste time in telling his sister and friends (via webcam) about what happened.
"Japan?!..."They each exclaimed in shock.
Danny nodded.
"Yeah, Clockwork says that there is some trouble there and he wants me to help out some group called the Sailor Guardians..."He explained.
"Sailor Guardians?..."Tucker questioned over the webcam while Sam rolled her eyes for some reason.
"You mean that group of teenage girls who do poses a lot?..."Jazz said, surprising her brother.
"The ones who wear bright colors and short skirts..."Sam said, looking annoyed as she thought of them.
"You mean that you heard of them?..."Danny questioned, surprised.
"Yeah, I did a research paper about Japan and learned about them..."Jazz explained.
"And I'm a goth. Weird and unusual stuff is standard issue..."Sam said as she rolled her eyes again. "Though, I had hoped that they'd be less colorful and cheerful...plus, I thought that they might have been a publicity stunt for some anime..."She said with a frown.
"Anyway, they are suppose to be this group that fights monsters..."Jazz explained.
"But I don't know much about them, besides what Clockwork told me. I need info..."Danny said, since this is the first time he heard of them.
"Of course, you do..."Jazz said, as she used her laptop and started searching. "You should really read more about current events outside of Amity Park..."She said in a chiding way.
Danny rolled his eyes at that and looked at the laptop. He read up what info he could see, while his friends were expressing concern. Well, one was expressing a different concern.
"So...Clockwork wants you to go all the way to Japan, team up with a group of hot teenage superheroes...without me!?..."Tucker questioned, annoying Sam and Jazz.
"Just about..."Danny said.
"This sounds less like a mission and more like a chance to score a date..."Tucker thought as he eyed the Sailor Guardians, especially the one with red coloration.
"I don't think you should go, Danny..."Sam said, not liking this. "What about all the ghosts? What if something happens when you are there and not in Amity Park?..."She asked, concern and also not wanting him around 5 teenage girls.
"Don't worry, Clockwork said that it'll be fine..."Danny said.
"What if he's wrong?..."Sam asked, being stubborn while the ghost boy raised a brow.
"Uh, Sam. He is the master of time. I think he knows his stuff..."Danny pointed out.
"Yeah, master of time and all..."Tucker acknowledged while the goth girl continued.
"Well... you can't go alone. Maybe we should go come too..."She suggested but Danny shook his head.
"No, you guys are already out of town and your folks will notice if you guys disappear too..."Danny explained.
"Well, what about me?..."Jazz offered but Danny shook his head again.
"No, I can do this myself. Besides, I need someone to cover for me if mom and dad call to check up on us..."He explained.
He is not sure how long he going to be there and he needs help at home.
His friends and sister didn't like the idea of him going to Japan by himself but sighed in defeat.
"Fine, Danny but be careful and let us know if you have trouble..."Sam said and Jazz nodded.
"And call, we didn't spend extra for long-distance minutes for nothing..."His sister added.
"I will, and thanks..."Danny said.
"And let me know if Sailor Mars is single..."Tucker added, liking her after seeing her photo. "I give you permission to give her my number..."He said in his usual, overconfident way, annoying the others.
Danny ignored that.
He just wanted to get to Japan, deal with whatever Clockwork was worried about, come back before his parents got wise, avoid being grounded by them forever and maybe enjoy whatever is left of his long weekend.
He hoped that nothing would make him stay too long.
The Next Day
It was Saturday, the day that Danny has to go to Japan and meet and team up with the Sailor Guardians.
The ghost boy woke up early, had breakfast and gathered everything he needed for his trip.
He packed a backpack of snacks and some other things that would be essential , since he didn't know how long he would be there and when he would be back.
"Do you have the travel toothbrush?..."Jazz asked for the tenth time.
"Yes, Jazz. I got it last night..."Danny said, wanting to go now.
"And take some clean underwear..."She said, being nosy.
"Jazz! Please stop!..."Danny said, annoyed by her smothering.
"Sorry, I just want you to be prepared..."Jazz said in defense.
Danny sighed.
"I'll be fine. Just make sure to cover when Mom and Dad call and let me know if there's something that Danny Phantom is needed for..."He said, zipping up his bag.
Jazz nodded as her brother faced the ghost portal.
With a nod before transforming, Danny went in, ready to get this over with.
Later
At Clock Tower
A certain time master was having a conversation with someone who the half-ghost hero is not familiar with.
"Clockwork...I know you mean well, but are you sure that he will do?..."A female voice asked.
"I assure you, it will all work out..."The ghost said to his guest before noticing Danny coming to the tower.
"What is it?..." A woman's voice asked as she looked in his direction.
"He's coming. It's not time for you to meet him..." Clockwork said.
"Understood..." The being said before disappearing.
Once Danny got in, he saw Clockwork hovering in the middle of the room, waiting for him.
"Good morning, Danny..."Clockwork said.
"Morning...Well, I made it." Danny said, ready to get going.
"You're early... not too many giant monsters, I'm sure..." Clockwork said in a joking manner.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"I'm guessing you knew I'd be here early..."He said, wanting to get this over with.
The ghost chuckled and answered.
"You're learning..."He said as he waved his staff.
"Let's just send me there already. I got a long weekend to save..." Danny said, though a part of him wasn't against this whole thing.
Particularly, the part of him that was actually looking forward in meeting the guardians, including the statuesque Jupiter and the cute Venus.
Clockwork nodded, creating the portal with his staff.
"I will come and get you once you finish..."Clockwork said.
Danny nodded and with that, he was able to pass through the portal, on his way to Japan.
Once the ghostly boy was gone, someone else appeared to the realm, the figure who just disappeared.
"Are you sure that he can do this?..."The figure asked, fearing for the worst.
Clockwork only smirked.
"I am, my dear. Then again , I know all. You should know that by now..."He said, knowing full well how this turns out.
With Danny
The ghost boy soon landed on the ground and groaned as he felt a little a little nauseous from the breakfast he had and the sudden movement he just experienced.
"Note to self, never eat too much before going through a portal..."He muttered until he noticed his surroundings.
He saw that he was no longer at Clockwork's tower and was in the human world.
He was in an alley that he didn't recognized. He then noticed kanji on the walls, signs and discarded newspaper and realized one thing...he was no longer in Amity Park or the ghost zone.
"I think it worked..."He said as he got up.
He then noticed a sign that had writing that he didn't understand but realized that it had to be Japanese.
"So, this is the place?..."He said out-loud as he looked around.
He was finally in Japan.
Meanwhile
A certain group of teenage superheroines in very short skirts had just finished fighting another monster and saved a school bus full of children.
"That's the way!..."Sailor Moon cheered after the droid was defeated.
"It would've been faster if you did more. I guess you were too lazy to work off that big lunch you had..."Sailor Mars snarked, much to the leader's irritation.
"What was that?!..."Sailor Moon shouted at her.
"Mars, don't chide her too much, even if overeating has a negative effect on one's health and behavior overall...'Sailor Mercury said, trying to defend her while Jupiter and Venus were busy thinking on something else.
"So, now that the monster is gone. Let's get going. I gotta get my shopping done..."Venus said as while the cats, Artemis and Luna, were quick to get their attention.
"Best hurry and go..."Luna said as the girls soon went to an alley to change.
"Yeah, you girls have to get back to your daily lives..."Artemis said as the girls were now in their civilian form.
"On it!..."Sailor Moon, now Usagi Tsukino, said as she picked up Luna.
"Yeah, I forgot that we need to get you two new kitty litter..."Venus, now Minako Aino, said to the felines, who glared at that little crack she made.
The teenage girls then laughed at that, while they started speaking with each other as they started to leave the alley.
"So, how was that boy you met the other day? You know, Kenji? The one with the hat?..."Minako asked, only for Makoto to sigh.
"He's nice... but he has a girlfriend..."Makoto said, frustrated.
"Sorry..."Minako said, feeling sympathetic.
Sailor Jupiter, now Makoto Kino, sighed as she had thoughts on another failed romance she experienced.
"Another day, another heartbreak..."She thought as she kept walking with her friends, depressed about her lack of romance once more.
However, she wasn't gonna give up, she is sure that there is a guy for her somewhere.
Maybe she'll have her chance sooner than she thinks.
