Chapter 18: Teaming up with two super beauties: The growing affections of Venus and Jupiter

In Amity Park
At the Nasty Burger, a table that is usually sitting three now sits two today.
Sam, a vegan who goes by a long and likely made up term, barely touched her tofu soy melt. With a huff, she pushed it aside. Tucker, eating a triple decker burger while leaving enough of the sauce on his face, noticed this slightly.
"You-..." Tucker swallowed. "...okay?" He finishes his question.
In response, Sam rolled her eyes.
"Let's see... I'm not eating, I'm resting my elbows on the table while my hands are under my chin, I made a very audible exhaling of breath and one member of our trio is missing... I'm just peachy. In fact, I must be the happiest I've ever been!..." She remarked with much sarcasm.
Tucker blinked.
"I'm sensing that you're upset..." He said as he put his burger down.
"And you wonder why you don't have a girlfriend..." She muttered, earning a frown from him.
"First, I'm ignoring that because I feel bad for you..." Tucker said with an unamused look on his face, before adopting a more sympathetic one. "Second, is this about Danny being on the other side of the Pacific with 5 total ba-..."
He felt a foot stomp on his with much force, causing him to hiss in pain.
"If that word you're about to say rhymes with Abe, I'm going to aim for the other foot!..." She warned.
"Look... don't worry..." He said in a hiss as he tried to ignore the pain.
"Give me a reason!..." Sam said with a scowl.
"Look Sam, we both know Danny. He's the most lovable guy ever, but you gotta admit his track record with girls isn't exactly worth bragging about, even if it is better than mine..."Tucker said, as he muttered the last part.
Sam thought about it, soon seeing his reasoning.
"Point taken..."She admitted.
"Not to mention, even if he's with them, you know how shy he tends to get around new people, especially cute girls. So, even if he does find them hot, it's not like he's just suddenly going to come home with a new overseas girlfriend in less than a week, much less five. Plus, there's a good chance that once this is done, he might never see any of them again... even if Mars looks like she'd make a great Mrs. Foley..." Tucker finished, taking a deep breath.
Hearing that did put a smile on Sam's face.
"Yeah... you might be right..." She said, feeling her mood lift.
"Great so... can you lift your foot now?..." He asks urgently as his eyes start to water.
Realizing she was still harming him, Sam lifted her foot.
"Oh... uh... sorry?..." She went with a sheepish smile.
Tucker panted, relieved it was over.
"Ever thought that maybe this is why your mom wants you to start wearing something other than combat boots?..." He asked with much irritation.
"Oh please... you'd never catch me wearing anything else..." Sam said with an eye roll.
"I better wear something more durable then..." Tucker whispered to himself as he kept eating.
Meanwhile
In Japan
The Sailor Guardians were still searching around the area for any suspicious activity.
Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask were currently searching the North as discussed, Mercury and Mars were searching the South and the ones who were searching the West side was Danny, along with Jupiter and Venus.
The ghost boy was still marveling over the fact that he somehow got teamed up with the tall and beautiful Jupiter and the shorter and alluring Venus.
"I almost hope this night never ends..."He thought as he searched the air for anything strange.
"See anything?..."Jupiter asked.
"Nothing yet. Just a nice view..."Danny said as he floated back down.
"Don't worry. I'm sure that we'll find them soon enough..."Jupiter said.
"Yeah, then we can all get ice cream to celebrate..."Venus said.
"Sounds good..."Danny said.
"You might have to pay for me. These skirts don't come with pockets..."Jupiter said, gesturing to said skirt.
Danny noticed now close she was as his eyes darted upward. He blushed for a moment, doing his best to get his mind off whatever was in his head as he got a closer look of her face.
"Wow...she's even prettier up close...and she kinda reminds me of-..."Danny's thoughts were cut off when Venus wrapped her hands around his arm.
"You can pay for me too, Phantom-san..."Venus said flirtatiously.
Danny's face turned bright red at her flirting, and his weak-kneed reaction started to act up again.
"I...uh...don't mind..."He stammered.
Venus giggled.
"Good, I'll even share with you. I hope you like chocolate-mint..."She said.
"I...do..."Danny said, blushing a bit.
Jupiter saw this and frowned with disapproval.
"And it's started..."She thought as she decided to act as chaperone.
She approached them and got between them, pushing Venus back.
"Uh...I really think that we should save attempts to hit on each other until after this threat is handled..."She said sternly.
Venus glared at that, feeling annoyed.
"Geez, first Danny-san and now Phantom! Why is she butting in on my attempts to get a new boyfriend?!..."She thought, irritated at her actions.
Danny felt like he was caught in the middle and was getting nervous now.
"Why do I feel like I'm in the middle of some sort of a love triangle?..."He thought, feeling nervous right now.
"Sorry about her inability to control herself around you, Phantom-san..."Jupiter said.
"Uh, yeah. I'm used to it..."Danny said, avoiding eye contact with her.
"Don't worry, she's harmless..."Jupiter said, but Venus then got back in his personal space.
"Then we can go on our own personal team up, Phantom-san..."She said, fluttering her eyelashes at him.
Danny pretty much froze up on the spot and felt his face was on fire right now.
"Hot, flirty, excitable and super into me. She's like a nicer, superhero version of Paulina, only on a whole other lever of Hotness.. I almost wish I could swap the two..."He thought, both thrilled and a little bit frightened about this.
Even so, she is coming off pretty boldly and he still felt like he preferred Makoto to be honest. Before Venus could say anything else to him, she suddenly got a phone call.
"Huh...one moment..."She said as she let go of the ghost boy and checked her phone.
She realized that it was her mother calling and she cringed.
"Seriously?! Now?! Of all times?!..."She thought, grumbling to herself.
She hid her bitter feelings and sent a sweet smile to the ghost kid.
"Uh...gotta take this. Private call and I can't share my secret identity to you... not yet, anyway..."Venus said, smiling innocently at him.
She then went to a private area to have her call with her mother, mostly since her calls with her mother tend to get pretty loud and she didn't want her superhero crush to see that.
"I wonder what that was about..."Danny said, figuring it had to involve her personal life.
"Probably family stuff..."Jupiter said, getting a feeling that it was a "personal" call.
As Venus was now gone to answer her phone call, this left Danny alone with Jupiter.
The ghost boy saw that he was alone with the very tall, strong and admittedly very attractive heroine and he felt as hot and frozen as he was with Venus, if not a little more so.
"So...uh...what do we do now?..."Danny asked awkwardly, trying to make some small talk.
"We gotta wait for her..."Jupiter said as they decided to wait.
"So...how long do you think Venus will be?..."He asked.
"Probably a few minutes..."Jupiter said, knowing how her phone calls with her mother tend to get.
"We might as well take a break right now..."She suggested.
"Okay..."Danny said, not sure what else to say.
Danny and Jupiter soon sat down on a nearby park bench. There is no one else around and he had no idea where else to go.
Jupiter then sat next to him, making his stutter.
"Sorry, no other place to sit..."She said.
"T-That's okay..." He said, mouth feeling dry.
"Okay... two beautiful girls in one day... I don't know if I'm lucky or cursed..." He thought, before shaking his head.
"What's with me? First the thing with Makoto and Minako and now this...why do I feel like I'm in one of those mangas that Jazz used to read back in middle school?..."He thought, before he decided to talk to the heroine.
"So...uh...what's up?..."Danny asked yet regretted how that sounded.
Jupiter blinked.
"What do you mean?..."She asked.
"Well...uh...since we got some time...let's just talk?..."He asked, rubbing the back of his head.
"Considering Venus barely gives you time, sure..."Jupiter said with a smile.
"Heh... funny..." He said, chuckling a bit.
"Speaking of which...what do you think about her?..."Jupiter asked, curious about where they stand in her attempts at a relationship.
Danny blushed a bit, knowing he should be honest.
"Well, she's pretty...and she is a cool superhero...though she's kind of... pushing it too much. I mean...don't get me wrong...she's hot and nice...and I'll admit that she's out of my league...but it doesn't mean she's not cool...but...I dunno...she sometimes get a little two close and I get pretty nervous around girls who are just cute. Venus is, to be frank, a babe but she's suffocating me a little bit..."He said, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Jupiter raised a brow at that.
"Hmm...I guess that he isn't exactly head over heels, but there is something of an attraction, one she might be killing..."Jupiter thought, both worried about and disappointed with her blonde friend.
The tall heroine sighed at how Venus was doing more harm than good to herself.
"I'm guessing that you won't have much of a conversation with her if she keeps interrupting you..."She said, scratching the side of her head.
"Most likely..." Danny responded, not sure what else to say.
"No worries. Venus may be a flirt, but she means well. She just gets a little excited when she's around cute celebrities like you..."She said, thinking she should tell her to tone it down.
"True, I get a little excited too, but even I know that there's a limit..."She thought.
Danny blushed upon hearing that.
"She called me cute...nice..."He thought.
"I wouldn't exactly call myself...a cute celebrity..."He said.
"You have your face on a T-shirt, that's kind of what a celebrity has..."Jupiter said, smiling.
"A T-shirt she probably sleeps in..." Danny joked.
Jupiter laughed at that.
"Probably. I can see why she's attracted to you, equal parts cute, heroic, honorable and honest. And don't worry, if she tries to get past first base too fast, I'll knock some sense into her..."The tall heroine said in a confident way.
Danny blinked when he heard this, there was something about the way she said that. It wasn't just how nice her voice sounded, but the words she said. It also wasn't just what she said too, but how she said it.
"You know...you kinda remind me of a friend of mine, one that I just met here recently..."Danny said, chuckling a bit.
"I do?..."Jupiter asked.
Danny nodded.
"Yeah...I...can't tell you her name due to secret identity reasons...but you do remind me of her..."He said, being honest.
"Really? In what way?..."Jupiter asked, rather intrigued.
"Well, my friend is a lot like you...she's tall, strong, very pretty and not afraid to step in and help someone. Those are traits that I admire most about her..."Danny said, recalling what he felt was Makoto's best assets.
Jupiter blinked as she heard this, noticing one word he said.
"Did you just call me pretty?..."She asked, blushing a bit.
Danny realized what he just said and flinched, mentally scolding himself.
"Oh man, I did it again! I'm such a spazz! I gotta get a shock collar or something to make me learn to control myself!..."He thought, trying to act normal around her.
"Yeah, very pretty. I can't deny that..."Danny said, avoiding eye contact with her.
Jupiter was blushing when she heard this.
"A famous superhero from overseas just called me pretty. Wow..."She thought, excited.
She soon realized what she was doing and snapped out of it. She tried to compose herself.
"Okay, not the time..."She thought, trying to act normal.
"Oh...uh...thanks..."She said, still blushing a little bit.
"So, this new friend of yours? What else can you tell me about her?..."She asked, curious to know more.
"I can't use her real name so... let's call her... uh... what's a random name I can use? Lita. Yeah, Lita. Let's call her Lita. She's someone I recently met since I arrived in Japan..."He explained.
"So...do you like this friend of yours?..."Jupiter asked.
Danny blushed and avoided eye contact with her again.
"I dunno...maybe...I mean...she's cool, really pretty and tough...She's a fighter, which is cool to me...I have no problem with strong women and since I'm a superhero, finding tough girls attractive is kind of a necessity..."He said, grinning as he thought about her.
"Really?..."Jupiter asked.
"Yeah...but I don't know if she likes me back as more than a friend. I mean...she's awesome but...well, she's taller than me and could break me if I didn't have my powers...which I am not criticizing...since as I said, I like strong women, but I'm worried she might not...you know...think much of me..."He said.
"Taller girl who happens to be very strong?..."Jupiter thought, finding it ironic at how a girl taller than him caught his interest.
"Yeah... I think... uh... Lita's a pretty cool girl. I'd love to admit that to her..." He said, smiling to himself.
"So, he likes another girl? This is gonna crush Venus..."Jupiter thought, worried about her friend.
Still, she wanted to hear it from him and confirm her thoughts.
"So, you like her? As in like her- like her?..."She asked, wanting to heat those words from him.
"Yeah, I think I do...but I don't think she'd be interested in me. I'm not very... impressive..."He said, sounding insecure.
"But you're Danny Phantom. No offense, but you do have a pretty big fan club, even in Japan and I know that Venus isn't the only member of it..."Jupiter said.
"Well...let's just say that...before I...become who you see before you...I wasn't exactly Mr. Popularity. In fact, I was kind of a loser..."He said, looking down.
"You sure don't seem like a loser. I don't see how other ghosts think you're that..."She said, misunderstanding his words.
"You'd be surprised..." Danny said, not sure if he can tell her he's actually a human with powers.
"Phantom-san, a loser would never use the strength and power he has to protect others and stand up to evil. I am not sure what kind of life you lead before you became a ghost, but you are not a loser and shame on those who ever made you feel that way..."Jupiter said, her confident side show.
Danny blinked at that and felt a tinge of relief. He also felt touched by what he just heard.
"Wow, she's so cool, She definitely reminds me of Makoto..."He thought, feeling flattered right now.
"Thanks..."He said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Don't mention it..."Jupiter said, giving a wink and thumb's up.
"Hey, Sailor Jupiter. Can I ask you a question?..."He said, hoping to get an honest answer out of her.
"Of course, what do you want to ask me?..." Jupiter said, as the ghost boy peaked her curiosity.
"Do you think that I have a chance with her? Do you think a girl like Lita would be willing to date a guy that's shorter than them? Or who doesn't even live here? Because, it be pretty awkward if I asked her to the movies and she says no?..."He said, admitting his insecurity right now.
Jupiter thought about it and felt a little jealous about this unknown girl, but she wasn't sure why.
"He likes a tall girl who is strong. I don't even know who this girl is, but I'm jealous of how lucky she is that someone so cute and short is into her..."She thought but she tried to act mature about this.
"Still, I be can't be spiteful and lie to him. That would go against everything the my friends and I believe in..."She mentally added.
She decided to give her own answer.
"Well, if I was her...and a guy felt that way about me...I wouldn't turn him down just because of his height or if he was a little shy. In fact, I think that any girl would be really happy to have someone care about them that way..."Jupiter admitted, trying to be sincere here.
"So, you think I should go for it?..."He asked, looking hopeful.
Jupiter felt torn here.
On the one hand, Venus is her friend and despite being annoyed by how she switched from Danny to Phantom like that, she didn't want her to get hurt. However, Phantom is a nice guy and she has no right to tell him who to like.
She took in some air as she then gave him a fair and honest answer.
"Venus is my friend and I think that you two could get along if she settled down a bit, but if you are serious about how you feel about this other girl, you should tell Venus the truth and how someone else has your heart and let her down gently..."Jupiter said, being serious.
"As for your friend...I think that you should just follow your heart and do what feels best...and see where that path will lead you two..."She said, since she felt that it was only fair.
The ghost boy thought about it, considered her words and nodded, feeling more confident right now than before.
"That makes sense. Okay, I think that I finally know what to do. I'll tell Venus she's pretty but someone else caught my interest. Thank you, Sailor Jupiter..."Danny said, smiling at her.
"Please...don't thank me..."Jupiter said, already feeling bad for her friend.
"Venus is so gonna be crushed when this is over..." Makoto thought, feeling guilty for causing her best friend heartbreak but she didn't have a choice here.
She also felt some envy for some reason, knowing that she is unlucky in love as ever.
"I wonder when my luck in romance will change? Maybe one day I'll get lucky and find someone who likes tall girls who are strong too...but where am I ever gonna find someone like that?..." Jupiter thought to herself, feeling left out again.
Danny and Jupiter got up and decided to go see what's taking Venus so long and if she is done with her cellphone call yet
Since Jupiter's mind was still on what they were recently talking about, she didn't notice a nearby can until she accidentally stepped on it. This made her trip.
"Whoa!..."Jupiter yelped as she lost her balance.
"I got you!..."Danny said as he tried to help her.
However, he ended up not registering the right distance and his momentum was off. He also accidentally ended up getting pulled in when Jupiter tried to grab his arm to regain her lost balance, but ended causing him lean forward by mistake.
The end result was Jupiter's lips meeting something soft.
She and Danny's eyes opened slightly, until they both widened once they saw that they were in a sudden lip-lock.
"WHOA!..."Danny thought in shock, caught off guard by this.
"OH CRUD!..."Jupiter thought in shock, face turning the same color of her rose earrings.
Once Danny pulls away, his face turned as red as hers and he was sweating profusely right now.
"J-Jupiter! I'm so sorry!..." He said, looking apologetic as he said this.
She had her hand by her mouth and smiled in a strange way, as if she was in some kind of daze right now.
"Don't be..." She said in a dreamy fashion, giddy over the fact that she kissed a boy, even if it was by accident.
"Huh?..."An embarrassed Danny asked, confused.
Jupiter realized what she just said and became mortified.
"I...I...I mean...uh...it okay...in fact, I'm sorry about that accident..."She said, blushing and shaking right now.
"Y-Yeah. D-Don't worry about it...L-Like you said...it was...an a-accident..."Danny stammered, his face resembling a tomato right now.
Both teenagers felt embarrassed and in awe over what they had just experienced.
"I just kissed a famous superhero and Minako's crush. This is so wrong...even if it did feel kinda good..."The tall heroine thought, both amazed and dreading what just happened.
"I just got kissed by a Sailor Guardian. Accident or not...wow...but I really hope that Makoto never finds out about this..."He thought, worried that this might hurt his chances with her.
"Uh..."He began, hating how awkward this is.
"Um..."A still blushing Jupiter said, wishing the heat in her cheeks would die down.
"We shouldn't tell Venus about this. I know it was an accident but...well...I don't wanna hurt her feelings. I know that you already like another girl, but I don't want to risk her thinking that I was trying to steal you away from her too..."The tall heroine said, rubbing her arm as she said this.
Despite how annoyed she was with Venus acting so boy-crazy and switching from Fenton to Phantom like that, she is still one of her precious friends and she didn't want to cause a conflict or have one of her friends think that she was betraying her trust.
"Oh...uh...okay..."Danny said, eyes darting away, thinking that this might be the best option.
Both of them were silent now, not daring to say anything else, but it didn't make this situation any less awkward, nerve-wracking or exciting for them right now.
Venus soon returned to the area.
"Geez, Mom really needs to learn how to chill..."She thought as she went back to her allies.
"Hey, what did I miss?..."Venus asked.
Danny and Jupiter both flinched and blushed profusely.
"N-Nothing! Nothing happened!..."Danny said, denying everything.
"Y-Yes! W-We were just t-talking and...nothing else happened!..."Jupiter stammered, feeling tense right now.
Venus raised a brow, confused about this.
"Uh, are you two okay?..."She asked, clueless about what happened between them.
Before the two heroes could explain what happened, Jupiter suddenly got an alert from the others.
"Thank goodness!..."She whispered, before realizing the situation.
"I mean...oh my goodness!..."She lied, hoping that she sounded convincing.
"It's Sailor Moon..."Jupiter said as she took the device to answer the emergency call.
"Girls, you gotta come to the Juuban train station. We need help, something's here. We'll call the others for back up too!..."Sailor Moon said.
"We're on our way, Sailor Moon!..."Jupiter said before hanging up.
She turned to Venus and Phantom, looking determined.
"Come on, the others need us. Looks like one of those things arrived. Our team is fighting it at the Juuban train station!.."She said.
"Then there's no time to waste! Come on, let's send it back..."Venus said seriously.
"We'd better hurry then..."Danny said, as he suddenly split into two.
Venus and Jupiter both blinked at this.
"Wow! You could make copies of yourself. It's so cool. So many cute boys at once!..."Venus said, excited.
Both Danny and his duplicate blushed and looked bashful at being complimented for his ghost powers. He tried to ignore her close proximity towards him.
"Come on. We better go and do a little divide and conquer!..."Danny said as he picked up Jupiter and his copy picked up Venus.
"Alright, I'll show the way..."Jupiter said, knowing that they had to go.
Both Danny's took off to the skies, carrying both super heroines with him and ignoring how it felt to carry both for the sake of the mission. Both Jupiter and Venus blush at being carried bridal style through the skies, but right now isn't the time for that.
They had to find the others and help them against this new threat.
