Jade would be lying if she ever pretended that the ritual she was performing didn't scare her to the core. The girl knew better than to resort to such primal, uncaring powers, except she was losing her man, and would soon be alone in the world. Already Cat was pulling away, costing her a friend she'd held dear longer than she could remember. 'Then again, I kinda burned that bridge a long time ago, when I chose Beck over our friendship. Cat didn't see it that way, stayed my friend, but slowly the distance started to form, until I did one good thing in my life, and set her up to leave me behind. I.. She has Sam now, and I'm just a memory…'

The brief sorrow and loss filled her, giving her new determination to finish her ritual. 'Of course, while it increases the odds of a response, there's one hell of a risk in invoking the primal power instead of a specific entity, and that is you have no idea who you'll be getting. I may wind up with something totally outside my area of understanding, and I'm gonna have a hard enough time making nay kind of deal with what I get as is. Take away any familiarity and I won't have a shot…'

However, fear, loneliness, and the desire to never be abandoned again, those were powerful motivators. Jade may not have had the will or ability to change who she was, but it fit who she was becoming to find a different, darker rout to her happiness. The spirits howled deep in the dark, letting her know they were leaving. Maybe most people couldn't hear them, just gaining that creepy feeling that something wasn't right, but that didn't mean things weren't happening. Jade could feel it, things moving in the darkness, abandoning this place before something potent and irritated ripped it's way through into this world and disrupted everything. Squaring her shoulders, Jade mentally got ready to face the wrath of… She had no idea.

"Wow… Just, wow…" The voice was female, soft and seductive. It sent shivers up and down the pale girls back. "You really have a messed up view of the world, don't you? And I get it, I totally do. Some of my peers, we can be plenty scary. Only, what you've called for, not that bad. I'm here to help, assuming you still want it." Tall, regal and beautiful, her skin was tanned, almost brown, in that lighter shade that hinted at middle eastern heritage. Dark hair tumbled down her back, while dark eyes regarded the pale girl. Her figure, slim and generous, was hidden by an armored dress that hinted at more then seduction.

"Okay, I give." Jade said with as much bravado as she could muster. "Who are you supposed to be?" But inside, she noted how the local spirits were giving this one an extra wide birth. 'Powerful, and dangerous enough that they're keeping their distance. Okay, just what have I gotten myself into.'

"You wanted primal, and I'm pretty close to the source." The woman said, a broad smile on her face. In narrowed to more of a leer. "Okay, you have the body. Just, must be something else, cause I can't see you being alone for long. So, lets talk, cause I'm gonna make things happen." She seemed to give that a moment. "Sorry, that's a threat, not a promise…. Inanna."

Jade could almost see her offering her hand, a gesture foreign to this deity. "So, um, whats this gonna cost me?"

"Now you think about the cost." The goddess said, but her eyes sparkled with more mischief then malice. "You do realize, it's far too late to negotiate. I've set in motion what I want, and now, you can only hope that it doesn't hurt that much. I was and am a versatile goddess, with many fascists of my being. My portfolio is pretty big. However, while I am the queen of heaven, and should be respected as such, I'm here in the aspect you called me, a goddess of love…. Um, you do know there are gods of love, right?"

"But they're like subservient, right?"

"Not always." Inanna said. "In some places they're co-equals. In others, well, it gets plenty complicated when you start having gods manifest aspects of themselves, and then they go and marry the other them, have kids and everything. Ideas taken form can do those kinds of things, but many people just don't get it. We're beyond such minor moralities."

"Oh…" Blue eyes scanned for some way to get out of this, even though she'd called the goddess. 'Was hoping for someone pretty straight forward, like Venus. Kinda wrathful, but at least, that aspect of love, I can bargain with…'

The Sumerian goddess burst out laughing. "You want to bargain with love? By the gods, what kind of deal do you think this is. We open the possibilities, make the potential happen. Only, you don't get to write yourself a lover like you create a character for a story. Little girl, it's never that simple. No, you're here because you still think in fairy tales, long after your last love started becoming toxic. But you, you held on like a champ, long after all rational thought would say that, despite loving one another, you and Beck would never work out. It's not that opposites attract, rather, there has to be something beyond the struggle, and that's what Beck loves about you. That you're challenge. But a relationship based on struggle is doomed. Even one based on one or more of the participants taking on rolls, playing parts, has a better chance of surviving."

The brown skinned goddess got serious, and Jade felt the chill in the air. "No, I'm not here to bring Beck back. As a lover, he's gone. Nor am I here to bring Cat back. I don't take credit for things that are going to happen anyways. Sam is a good friend, but her loyalties are not with Catarina. No, she has other loyalties, and will be there for those people first. Beyond that, the need, there are other factors you haven't even considered. See, in time, Cat will want her sister from another mister…" A scowl crossed her beautiful face. "I feel dirty just saying that. However, Cat, she'll want you back in her life, even to the point where she'll forgive you for what I'm going to do to you, kinda as reminder that primal powers act without much carting what you thought you wanted, just focusing on that mix of what you say you want, and what might just be the best for you."

Jade didn't have the chance to ponder what this goddess was thinking, ominous as it sounded, as the Queen of Heaven continued in a light, airy tone. "In this case, I've found a life partner that makes you want to be a better person. And as you both have feelings for the other, I'm just going to tweak the universe, and soon, you'll be so deeply involved you won't even think about calling on primal powers."

As the goddess faded, a dark laugh echoing through the darkness, Jade suspect her life just got more complicated.

Across town, Tori was doing her yoga, feeling extra spiritual, when a small part of her opened up, letting her know it was time to finally peruse a love that would last. Deep in her mind, a single memory, of the blue eyed bully who'd tormented her for so long started to clarify. Old theories came back, making Tori think that maybe she might just looked the pale girl up. 'I think you're ready for this jelly, Jade.'
